Be very careful when dealing with this company...It is just another Timeshare Sales scam.. Timeshare Express Services called me and gave me the canned story that they had a buyer interested in my timeshare. I told them right away that I was not going to pay any money to them upfront, and any fees that I might be responsible for would have to be taken out of the proceeds of the sale at closing. They said no problem and continued with their scripted sales pitch.
They said that the buyer was not approved yet and they just wanted to know if I was interested and if so they would get back to me when the buyer gained approval for the purchase. I asked why they had not approved prospective buyers before they contacted sellers and the woman fumbled for an answer. Each time that I asked a question it seemed to upset this person and she was unable to answer most of my question. I could tell that she was following a script because each time that I interrupted she had to back track and find her place and then resume with the sales pitch.
This went on for four days and each time that they called I repeatedly told them that I would not pay any money to them upfront. Finally on the 4th day a "Supervisor" called me and explained that the buyer was approved and was offering $22, 000 for my time share. I remained silent and waited for the announcement of what my fee would be and the woman took a long time but finally explained that I would have to pay$1, 650.00 "upfront" for paperwork and tranfer and registration of the deed. When I told her that I would not give her company any money and had told them that approxmately 8 times she became very indignant and combative. I asked why this fee could not be taken form the proceeds she stumbled for an answer and finally said it was against the law. I then suggested that every Real Estate transaction in the country must be in violation of the law. I don't remember if I hung up on her or she hung up on me but she was very angry with me.
I knew this was a scam from the beginning because I've done my homework, I went along with it because I wanted to see how far they would string this out and what new twist they would put on it..
It sure seems to me that the Attorneys General of each State should be doing something about these scams and put these people out of business
