This woman was late and slow when she did finally get to the shoot. I will not work with her again. She is unproffessional to say the least. I don't think she has real training.

P.S. This whole thread started following a shoot with a photographer who refused to return several wigs and a CD I left at his studio for his use. I've found many people in the 'industry' to not pay, be rude, or expect long, long hours or not pay when it was contracted on a budget. I've always done my best and I've found that always works out in the long run. We're all only human.

Murphy, don't pay for services not rendered properly and I've only asked for payment if payment was contracted for the job. I always feel terribly if I'm slow and never have I been flippant about time equating to money nor am I disrespectful regarding schedules. Alas, no one is perfect and this thread isn't an accurate look at someone who did part-time makeup for a limited time frame and is admittedly self-taught. I don't write unkind things about anyone I've worked with, payment free or otherwise, nor have I been critical of their time management, training, or expertise because it's not my place to be critical. I wish you the best and if I'm slow, don't rehire. It's simple and not personal. Take care.

I have had a chance to do business with Mrs. Pierce in the past and I have to agree that she has time issues. While she does an adequate job at makeup, she does not have respect for other parties time as money and expects to get paid when she has made other people wait. Time is money and not to be wasted and treated lightly.

HAHA -- How seriously can you take a complaint from someone who can't correctly spell the city they live in?

Smurfette, you're listed as being from Houston. I don't know anyone in Houston and I've only visited there a few years ago to MD Anderson. Therefore you might not know anything about who my 'real close friends' are. I agree honesty is sometimes more important than being kind, but I pride myself on being both and if you truly knew me, this wouldn't be an issue. Take care. -Tianne

Tianne Pierce here again.

This is really odd to me- this whole thread. I don't understand why I'm being called out. I don't brag myself up. I don't have attitude. I don't put myself out there as anything fabulous- I'm small pototoes and I know this. I don't imply I'm anything more than what I am. I've done some small things in Utah and I blog and have worked with friends and family. How can I be challenged on my own claims when I don't make any! What gives?

I've worked with a pretty consistent group of people and it seems like someone's been rubbed the wrong way- but no one is approaching me. I've not gotten feedback from any of my clients or films on these issues. Instead I get rehired and treated as a friend. It's confusing, really. There's someone who's not being upfront with me and it's unfair.

As for me 'knowing I have talent' that could imply I'm smug. I'm not. But I try to have confidence and there's nothing wrong with believing in yourself. Truth be told, I'm actually very insecure and I worry about being good enough and I get nervous a lot of the time. If you knew me well, you'd know this. I am constantly learning and striving to meet ideals I have and feel it keenly when I'm still on the learning curve.

If I haven't talked to you since high school or you worked with me on one small project- you don't know me well. Please, don't speak for those that do.

Here is my history: I have been doing makeup professionally (i.e. getting paid for it) since 2009. I've only lived in Utah since 2008. I've been doing makeup and photos personally for either blogging, friends, private events, etc since 1995. I'm only in my early 30's so this does not equate a wealth of experience, but it's not like I first applied makeup last week. Just because I've not been doing makeup since the age of time doesn't mean I can't establish myself. There's nothing wrong with being new.

I am honest. I might've talked up a few things because I get excited or nervous (who doesn't)- but I don't make big claims or flat out lie. If you've misunderstood me, I'm happy to talk to anyone who is brave enough to confront me personally instead of voicing gripes anonymously online. What I don't understand is why this complaint board is becoming such a vendetta. If someone I've worked with has a complaint, call me. My number is available and if you know me, you have it.

I do believe that I am a good makeup artist. I don't do a 'bad job'. Maybe I'm not as experienced as some and I'm okay with that. I'm not the best out there doing shoots with Vogue- I'm not under any delusions of grandeur. I don't claim to be anything other than a Mom who does makeup for the JOY of it. If I've offended you because you expected better or have taken me the wrong way- then the right thing to do is to let ME know. Not blast me online or make judgment calls on my experience. I've done a lot of projects for free and if these complaints apply to those- how silly is that? Let a girl learn or be human, sheesh!

Fstop and Smurfette- I'm hurt. I'm not dishonest. I may not be top-notch straight from LA and the MUD, but I'm sincere, hard-working, and will do my very best. I don't call out others unfairly online for not being perfect or at the peak of the game based on personal opinions. I don't misrepresent myself and if you feel I do, don't hire me. Plainly put.

This is all really silly. I do makeup. A drop of makeup in a sea of bloggers, makeup artists, and craftspeople. But apparently, there are individuals who feel like my tiny contribution is worth a fuss. Such a small iota of a big, big business. Why am I getting the makeup police? I just don't get it. Especially when I am so open, kind, fair, and supportive? Are you guys just bored?

Look, I don't criticize your photos or your shots or your acting or your storylines or what have you- even if I have opinions. Last I checked, no one I've worked with has won an Acadamy Award or a Tony, or much of anything huge. BUT I believe in what I've worked on. I've felt lucky to even get called. I give makeup away. I am a friend and I am reliable and prepared and earnest. Why am I being attacked? I'm so harmless! This whole complaintboard baffles me!

We're all in this world to do our best at whatever we do. Tearing people down isn't fair- or right. If I have room to grow this isn't the way to let me know. As far as I'm concerned, I do my darndest to do the very best makeup I can with the materials I have and I put my heart in it. I don't make any big claims as to my supposed talent or experience or whatnot. I just show up and contribute.

If that isn't good enough for you then don't hire me.

I wish both Fstop and Smurfette the best.

although this girl has talent, and she knows it, but do not believe she has been in the makeup business for as long as she says. That's where I have an issue. Friends, real close friends know this. Just be honest. You can be kind all you want but the honesty part is sometimes more IMPORTANT

I disagree with you fstop. I have worked with Tianne Marie on several projects and have found her to be quite professional. She always came prepared and was set-up and ready prior to any of the cast members arrival. Many of them came to me asking that she be brought back on future shoots. I have never worked with a more patient and passionate person. She loves what she does and it shows. I will continue to hire her on my upcoming feature films.

I'm sad you feel this way about my work. If I have worked with you, this would be the first I've heard of an issue as every client I've been involved with has been really happy and has called me again for repeat projects.

As this is an anonymous forum, it's a challenge to know what can be improved without a way to contact someone regarding a concern. I've worked with a lot of people and I pride myself on being timely. If I was slow, I apologize- but I'd rather be thorough than rush. But I haven't had any complaints and I have had several references for my work being high quality and within shoot times.

As for training- few makeup artists (especially outside LA or NY) have formal training. I'm self taught and I claim that. I'm proud of my talents and next time, if there's a concern, let me know. That way I can get better! I wish you the best.

Thanks for your thoughts!
