Thrive Learning Institute Misleading Internet Business Scam

I have been a student since October 2008. When I signed up for an e-bay account, I got a call from a gentleman name John at Auction Profits. He said we are interviewing some people for an opportunity to start an online business. After about a 10 minute interview, he said that I qualify and I will be receiving a call back from Joel Bish. To make a long story short, Joel called me for about a month, and left me about 15 messages. I final call him back, and he gave me an offer that sounded like a good deal. The offer was for me to pay $3100 up front, and Thrive would help me double that investment in about 6 months or they will continue to work with me until I double this investment. I went ahead and signed up for the program, and Joel sent me the written agreement for the above offer to me via e-mail. He said to call him anytime if I ever have any issues or problems.

Since then, I have had a lot of problems with Thrive. For one, they never told there would be phases that I would go through in the program. They never sent me any outlines, and they take forever to answer the questions from my e-mails, sometimes a week. The times I have talked to the coaches, they are always busy with something else while they are talking to me, or they are very rude over the phone when the call goes past 15 minutes, like I am wasting their time. I have been ignored on the Thrive chat, and have been mislead many times over. I have called Joel Bish with the concerns, but he has never called me back. Before I signed up for the program, there was no problem getting hold of Joel, but now it is impossible. I also have a problem with calling themselves coaches. A coach is someone who strives to bring the best out of their students, for what they are asking the coach to lead them. It is very misleading to the students to believe that the personal down at Thrive are coaches. There has not been one time since I have been involved with the program where a so called coach pushed me, encourage me, or point me down the right path with my online business. I am about to enter the marketing phase of the program, and I am very discourage with where I am going with all of this. They have already tried to sell me a $2300 marketing package, and I have not even made any money.

Like most people on this site, I want to see about a class action law suit. But we need to know how we can come together and put something like this together. Please e-mail me anytime at [protected]@yahoo.com. Thanks and take care.

Yes, but you good people on the sales floor are far and few between, and you know the person who signs you up is never to be heard from again. The good sales floor coaches are soo overworked and dumped on that if you get a good coach for your proactive calls, he disappears also, and you get a different person each time you call.NO they cannot all help you, they are all on a different page, different concept, so you end up starting over again and again. Then I had Clinton tell me my site looked like a 5 yr old had built it, take a look at his profesional looking site that has sales, for another 600.00 they can rebuild your site so you too can have sales.Funny thing, it was the coaches that had me put my site together like it was and it looked far better than some. Not only did they not change it, didn't add products, they added about 60 words of text, that was it for 600.00! that took 2 weeks to do, my site was up and working and for 2 weeks had pppppp, s all across it, so they would know and be able to come in and add text!
So I am glad you are on the up and up, but you do not work there anymore, so you don't do the 50 or so people I am in contact with any good.Just curious, so did you go and start your own business "teaching" also, like about 5 coaches are doing?

Hello all. To make everybody aware, thrive learning institute does have a system that has helped several people do well. What happens is, if you would all do the proper due diligence, a sales company calls you claiming all sort of "earnings claims", unrealistic projections, telling you whatever you need to hear to hand over a c.c. #. So it is the sales company's doing, not thrive's. I am speaking from experience bc I used to work at one of these sales floors. I personally took a different approach. Never once making a claim that a certain amount of money was going to be made in a certain amount of time. I never lied or misreprented what thrive actually does. A couple results happened. The people that I enrolled didn't have unrealistic expectations. I told them it could take a great deal of time, more than ten hrs per week, etc. And also, I didn't make as many sales, or get as many people to sign up as other people did at the sales company. Reason being I didn't lie, decieve, or overpromise. Now other did do that. They do that becauase they make more money and as we all know money makes people do stupid things. Greed. So please be aware that thrive does provide viable serices and resources but are misrepresented by the sales floor and it is the person who sold you these services that the finger needs to be pointed at. These sales floors go largely under the radar by claiming they are the acutal fullfilment company. Just thought u might like to understand the process. Go after the sales company for deception, misreprestation etc, not thrive.

That's why you keep coming back to this post William(Thrive, Matt and Dave Rasmussen, Colton Moody, and Zach Bradshaw). We have all learned from the Thrive's customers on this site, exactly who you are working for. If you are sick of complaints, Then stop scamming people, refund your unhappy customers money...and stop hiding behind every excuse you can find. I noticed you changed your profile. Exactly what you are made of ...deceptive lies. Thanks for showing us how low you are willing to go in all this. All we ask is proof and since you cannot provide it for us this is where you take it ...Thrives credibility is in the toilet thanks to these deceptive business practices and ignorant racist representatives(probably one of those unfriendly coaches)... Its easy to hide your identity and call people names...Here’s an idea, let's do lunch, you can meet me in person and call me a ### ...I ‘ll show you how stupid I am and the end result of my experience with your company... thanks for upping the payback bar. Hey Dave Rasmussen, Colton Moody, and Zach Bradshaw this just goes to show why you have to hire professional people to represent your counterfit system. This guy sounds like he is still in high school. Why don't you put the energy into proving us wrong instead of these childish games...

Thrive Learning Institute You said I could have my money back!!!!!

My complaint with the BBB of Utah is still open and Im still awaiting a check in the mail for the amount of $1500 from the Thrive Learning Institute. Mr Bradshaw, head of customer relations, called me over a week ago, 11/10/08, and stated that he would give me my money back. And then nothing.
Mr Bradshaw, do not leave a comment here, pick up the phone and talk to me directly. Or better yet, put a check in the mail and this will be done. Per your enrollment with consumer advocacy and mediation with this consumer complaint site I would imagine that you would want to take care of this matter as soon as possible. Wouldnt you?
I want my money back...I want my money back...I want my money back...I want my money back...I want my money back...I want my money back...I want my money back...

Is this clear enough?

I love to read about the ignorant trailer trash brain dead idiots who wonder why when they spent $1500 they aren't rich in 3 days. First off if you didn't have a job why did you think spending more money would be a good idea? If this was supposed to be so easy then Obama should have enrolled everybody in this program and it could have bailed out our country. Setting up a business is hard work and takes time. File all the complaints if you want at the end of the day you are a lazy dumb ###. Remember there is a reason why you are unemployed and broke, you are all stupid.

If you want your money back from Thrive Learning Institute, do these three things:
1) Ask for a refund. They will refuse. Keep copies of everything about your experience with them.
2) File a fraud report with your credit card company about Thrive. And request a charge-back. There is a chance that even if it has been over 60 days, you can get them to investigate and return the money.
3) File a complaint with the Utah Division of Consumer Protection - this is the best way to go about this, even though they are swamped with Thrive's messes.

I joined in 6 months ago. I have had one person say to do this and then the next "expert" will tell me to do something else. The people I worked with were kind. What I came to realize was they had websites but were also working for Thrive. That bothered me quite a bit. They must not be making much of a living off their websites.I have made $0 in sales and cannot afford to continue. Everytime I turn around-there is a new charge for this or that. I never did receive a contract. I have not asked for my money back as I am sure of what they will say. Is there a chance for a class action law suit? I have heard of people calling their cc companies and reporting fraud. How does this get one their money back? I've been paying on my cc for 6 months.

I was unemployed am looking for an online business when I meet Thrive and wish I hadn't. I even told them I was unemployed and had no money, but they conviced me that they would help me build an online store in three months bring in over $10, 000.00.

I paid them $5000.00 and it has 9 months and the site isn't making any money. Everytime I tell them I want my money back they just laugh. When I tell them that the site isn't making money they tell me to make these changes, so I do and it doesn't help. You have to learn it all on your own using their video's and support. They will tell you want to do - but that is it - they won't do it for you, so if you can't learn how to do it - you are out of your money according to them.

I wish their was a way I can get my $5000.00 back.. My advice is to stay clear them.

www.thriveli.com is a terrible company. Save your money and do not sign up with their program. They have ZERO integrity. They focus 100% on making money and not helping the customers. I do not know how the owners sleep at night. They deceive themselves in thinking they are trying to do good, but the reality is they are way over their head. Do not sign up with Thrive, because mark my words, "They will be out of business within one year"

I just joined about a month ago and I am having serious doubts about the whole thing. They charged me 4, 800 dollars and then an extra 1575 for a tax rep. After reading these comments, I am seriously wondering what i got my self into. I just want my money back and my sanity.

I have joined Thrive about 8 months ago for a 6 months tuition and I still have their support by phone, email and live chat! They have showed me what to do and I am working on it.. They walked me through the process of getting my business started up and how to look for the right niches and I am pretty happy with them. I didn't know anything about that before, I learned so much from them and every time I have a doubt, I just go to their e-library which is full of information. I am not saying that I made my initial investment yet, but my website is not finished and I am sure I will make money out of it!
For those of you who have "failed" so far, maybe it's time to review you niche markets!
Thanks

I am also one of the many victims of THRIVE THIEF they guarantee you will make money from their systems at a price of at least $1500, and its only the beginning of your money wasting nightmares.

There are many more products and services you have to buy from their resource page which cost $000's just to get started, and you never know if you are ever going to make a single dime.

When I asked for a refund the guy was talking in rude manner he said ''you can leave but you are not going to get refund'' not even a single $.
They prey on venerable to sell their doggy services. stay away from them as far as you can, in my experience thrive learning is the worst company to waste money on internet.

Thrive Learning Institute Can not get money back

I have never used their website or services and returned thier software, return reciepted, and was told that I could not get money back and if I didnt continue paying on the contract I would be sent to collections.

Thrive contacted me on or around 9/18/2008. I was to have my first appointment on 9/22/2008 at 10:30 am. I was called at 11:30, an hour later and told that internet services were down in downtown Lindon. I was to be contacted at 4pm. I never heard back. The next day I e-mailed to request an elibrary password. I didnt hear back for a couple of days. Then I recieved a v/m stateing that I had to make an appointment. The guy on the phone was rude and spoke with a disturbing attitude stateing that is what up to me to set these appointments after the firt guy stated that he would contact me to schedule the appointment. I started to get frustrated and after e-mailing and calling with no response I emailed and called to get my money back.

I was contacted today, October 23rd, 2008, by Zach, and was told because I was out of my 3 day return period I could not get back my down payment. Zach informed me that if I didnt keep paying on my contract he would send me to collections.

I am now out $1, 500.00 down payment, $144.21 a month on a $5, 000.00 contract, $39.95 for software I returned, and $39.95 for monthly website rental fees.

From 9/18 to 10/23, 2008 is 25 business days, well within the 90 days and my initial contact to Thrive was within 5 days. This is a very suspicious way to do business.

Mr Anderson, My complaint with the BBB of Utah has been open since 10.28.2008 so they do have at least one complaint still open. So get your facts straight before making claims. I am happy for you that you are having a good experience with Thrive. I count at least a dozen others on 7 complaint sites that are not, including myself.

For those of you still needing to file a complaint, file with the BBB of Utah and with the Federal Trade Comission at www. ftc.gov.

Today is 11.17.08 and I still have not received my money back. I filled a complaint with the BBB of Utah on 10.28 and on 11.11.08 Mr Bradshaw called me and stated that he would return my money and I have still not heard from him, Mr Bradshaw or to get my money back. The company the contract was written with, Duvera in CA, called me on 11.12 and stated that as soon as they hear from Mr Bradshaw the contract will be dissolved and that they had no problem with that. Mr Bradshaw's people keep calling me to set up appointments and I keep telling them to stop calling me. My last call fron Thrive/Merchent Services was 5 minutes ago. My next move will be to contact the Federal Trade Commission, per my attorney's request, at 5 pm today.
Mr Bradshaw, in stead of leaving a comment here, why dont you just call me and tell me what you have to say. You said 8 days ago I could have my money back. Whats the deal? Are you a liar?

DO NOT BUY INTO THRIVE LEARNING INSTITUTE!

Thrive Learning Institute along with Internet Income Solutions scammed me for over 10, 000. They are dishonest and fraudulent by not disclosing the total program costs. They are anything but professional. The coaches cannot agree on what to do. Their "trade secrets" are free on the internet. They will tell you anything just to get your money and then laugh all the way to the bank. No disclaimers of any kind are disclosed as per business opportunity laws. I want my money back.! I am not stopping until they pay me!

Remember they are CROOKS! DISHONEST! FRAUDULENT!

TOTAL SCAM. the education was terrible, the service rotten and their team of blood suckers (ignite web team) sold me the worse website possible. The 'marketing' was a joke. I asked for a refund and they told me no. So I had to call my credit card company. They got me back my money. DO NOT work with these people. If you have call your credit card and tell them it was not what you purchased and get you money back.

Thrive got $10, 00 from us too. Their warranty states that they fully expect all of their clients to recoup their full initial investment inside of 6 months. I started with them in Sept. 2008. So far I have had sells of less than $600. I don't call that getting my investment back. I too want my initial investment back.

I to am very unhappy with (Internet Logistics that who got my money) or Internet income solutions.biz (e-mail terri@internetincomesolutions.biz) or Thrive. I just talked with them on Thursday, October 15, 2009. After looking at the string of e-mails and instructions to download and all the sites to log on to I became very overwhelmed. I spent time with Jeff Sterling [protected]) then received a call from John Fuller [protected]) who talked and talked and talked until I agreed and gave him my credit card number. On Sunday I call John Fuller and told him that this was not going to work for me and that I wanted to stop everything before we went any further. He did call me back on Monday and said that was not his area and I would have to talk to the review board. On Tuesday, Josh Jensen called me and introduced himself as the Resolution Manager and did not have time to talk and made an appointment to talk to me on Wednesday. On Wednesday Josh Jensen called me and I explained my concerns about my ability to continue with this program and that I wanted to sever my relationship with this company and get my money back. He insisted that we could come to a reasonable solution. His reasonable solution is that I continue with the program and earn my money back. I continued to explain that I no longer wanted to have a relationship with his company and he insisted that we come to a reasonable solution. I just wanted my money back, that I had not logged on to any of the websites that were listed in the many many e-mails that were sent to me. As far as I was concerned, I had not received anything so just cancel and give me back my money. As it was apparent that we were not going to agree on the REASONABLE SOLUTION on today’s call he scheduled another call with me tomorrow, October 22, 2009.

I'm overwhelmed at the number of people Thrive has scammed. I too am a victim. My experiences are very similar to all of yours and I'm having to pay my credit card over $9, 000.00 plus the monthly website fees. I'm still kicking myself for falling for this scam. We talked with Jacob H. for 4 hours on the first call and he convinced my husband and I that I would double my investment in 4 months - "worst case scenario" (Jacob's words). I just had to show up for the appointments and they would make sure that I would succeed. What a lie - received one assignment and after that had a hard time getting ahold of them. You've heard all the bad news about how they operate. I don't need to rehash their deceit and stall tack-ticks. My latest live chat was interesting. I was told after answering one question I had that he had to leave for a meeting and ended the conversation before I could even ask another question. Their trick is that they stall to help you in the proactive stage and then in the reactive stage your pretty much on your own. If you've never done website building before - you need help, right? Their builder is now very well set up and is quite confusing to work with so you have to ask questions. Well, I'm going to try to get my money back from them somehow. I've read Ben There and cnchatten's suggestions and will relentlessly try to get these guys to pay me back the money they stole from me. Let me know when a lawsuit comes up - I'm in on it!
