Deceptive advertised priced for Sony Camcorder DCR-SR82. After placing order, an email asked for billing address confirmation. When called up, the salesperson says do you know your order only includes the camcorder body and nothing else (not even battery, cables, remote, etc.). The person told me I would need to order a package including all that.

The website does not disclose the content of the order and they use this scam to get customers to pay more. After that I canceled my order, and made 2 more calls to get their postal address to mention my intention to file a complaint about them. Its amazing to see so many other complaints of this type that others experienced.

Stay away from this company unless they disclose everything in writing. Seems to be their usual scam practice.

Thanks.

I have the same bad experience with thecameraprofessionals I ordered a canon G9 Digital camera last month, I received a call the next day if I need a 2 hour or 5 hour battery (note. There is only one type battery for this camera) I told them no because I don’t want to spent $150 just for a battery, and this week I received an email from them that the camera is out of stock, while I was waiting for my camera I checked on Google for a good battery for this camera and I got snapitdigital.com sold me a Power2000 battery & charger for $25 http://www.snapitdigital.com/itemdetail.asp?mod=PONB2LKIT

Just had exactly the same experience with a Canon EOS 40D. They make car salesmen look honest.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE WITHOUT TALKING TO THEM FIRST. Their practice is VERY deceptive. Under no circumstances did I think that my order for a brand new JVC MG155 hard drive camcorder would be just that...no cables to connect to the computer, no lense, not even a stinkin' battery. Give me a break. Then he tried to tell me that my $300 camcorder was just the body and that to get the things I need to actually use it, it would cost another $400! I mentioned that when you buy this in a store, it comes with all of that. He said, "Sir, you get the body only. Do you want it or not. Take it or leave it." I told him to cancel my order. If I get charged on my CC, I will take serious action.

I have contacted the Better Business Bureau.

My negative experience is consistent with others though less extreme. Their sponsored site on Google offered a Panasonic SDR-H18 camcorder $150 below the standard price. I was unable to order online so I called, was put on hold, then was greeted with a rude man who said "I don't have it" and hung up. Not a huge deal but I wanted to add my voice to the complaints of others -- seems like a highly questionable operation.

Very Rude Sales and Customer Service staff. They have advertised a NIKON D80 for US$ 399.00 but when I tried to order one, the rude sales person said 'OUT OF STOCK' and hung-up.

I too just experienced their VERY deceptive sales practice. I ordered a DSLR camera "package"...Executive Package to be precise. When I called to verify the order I was informed that the package does not include the battery or charger, and that these were roughly an additional $300 (the scammer was very quick and quiet when he said the pricing, and I made him repeat it twice). They then tried to up-sale me on another package. Feeling I was trying to be hoodwinked with a nice bait-n-switch, I immediately cancelled the order. I have followed up with a written email confirming the order cancellation, and have notified my credit card company to not process any purchases form TheCameraProfessionals.com ... The Camera Professionals.

After reading all the other complaints, and most a similar in nature, I am convinced my order cancellation was the best move I could have made. Obviously I do NOT recommend working with TheCameraProfessionals.com .

I called to confirm an order I had placed on a Canon Camcorder and had the same experience where they did not include a batter/ charger and wanted me to add them at a price that doubled what I was originally going to pay, they charged me before I completed my order with them and requested that this be canceled. Its been 6 days and I do not have use of the money they charged due to it being in "Pending Transaction".

I too, ordered a sony camcorder and was told that i needed to purchace a battery because it did not come with one . The package deal would have been another $300.00. I received an email from them saying that my order would be handled personally by one of their staff members. When I called to cancel this order hae was very rude. I just hope others will not get stung by this firm.

Totally agree with everything written herein. They tried to dupe me on the purchase of a Sony DCR VX2100, but they said "the lens was not included". Not included? It's part of the manufacturer's base model! They physically remove the lens, unbelievable! It would cost me an extra $700 for the lens, taking the price $200 above what I could get it for from Sony direct! I filed a complaint with the NY Better Business Bureau. They contacted me. Their response ... "Look at our website (newyork.bb.org) and do a search for The Camera Professionals and read their complaint history." And the quote of the day from the BBB agent ... "If The Camera Professionals closed their doors, I may be out of a job!" DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! I just wish I had the money to file a class action lawsuit against them. That type of selling practice can NOT be allowed to continue!
