We took the timeshare tour and were shown a 1Bedroom display suite. After deciding to purchase we noticed the paperwork stated Jr. Suite and not 1Bedroom. Shortly thereafter we decided to cancel the contract due to what appeared to be a bait and switch technique used by the salesman. The amenities of the one bedroom was what we had envisioned in our mind upon usage and not a Jr. Suite. Upon notifying the company of our intent to cancel, we were convinced by another company representative to keep the package due to the this person's deeper explanation of a benefit that most interested us which was the bonus weeks that we could reserve for any size unit. As it turns out, the explanation of the benefit that most interested us does not come at the monetary prices that in our opinion we were led to believe from the emails and conversation that took place between myself and an employee of the company. My feeling now is that we were misrepresented twice by employees of the timeshare company. First, with respect to the size of unit being purchased and second, that the weekly cost of the bonus weeks that we wanted to book are much more expensive then the price we were led to believe when originally bringing our issue to the attention of the company representative. We are very much disheartened since we feel as if we asked all the right questions, followed all the rules to the letter, only to now find that what we thought was true is in fact not true at all. This is not the experience we expected, after buying from what was told to us by the sales staff to be one of the best timeshare companies in the world. Beware!

I bought a Mayan Palace timeshare in my early 20s and it was one of the worst financial mistakes I ever made. I never intended to buy it, but I cannot suckered into going to a presentation to get free show tickets when I was in Puerto Vallarta. The high-pressure sales person convinced me to sign on the dotted line, and I ended up with a timeshare. It was one of the hardest things to get rid of, and I lost about $20, 000 in the process. It was an expensive lesson learned.
