Gary melchiorre continues to change his business name again to try and run from his bad reputation. Check out his criminal back ground and numerous company names prior to using him. He is a very skilled con man. He has taken advantage of others and you might just be next. My experience was that he has no integrity! He picks names close to reputable businesses as part of his deceitful practices.

In attempt to try and make himself look better gary ernest melchiorre of star brand construction has posted two emails on his site to try and look like a reputable person. . . . Starbrandconstructionser…. Sadly enough one of the emails is from my own sister who only knows the bull she heard and accepted as the truth from gary melchiorre. She barely knew him when she fell head over hills for his every word. I trusted in my sister's opinion and hired him as well. What a huge mistake! Talk is very chep. . . Get everything in writing with this guy if you take the risk!

Yes he conned me, but truth is not slander. Gary said he was going to take me for everything he had coming to him. Believe me, if he could he would have taken me to court for slander. But the true facts are plain and simple not slander.
Gary and his inadequate work crew took advantage of me greatly and he never fixed the work that was done incorrectly like he said he would and he left the whole house torn apart without finishing one room completely. Regarding the remarks about slander all i can tell you is what i noted is true and if you are willing enough to take the chance to hire him in texas, get a contract in writing.

I was totally misled by gary ernest melchiorre of star brand consturction. He came off as a nice caring concerned guy and i totally fell for it hook line and sinker. Now i am over $50, 000 dollars in debt with an unfinished house. My handicapped brother has special needs and needs access to his bathroom but there is no way he can use a bathroom with an incomplete shower and no toilet.
Melchiorre installed a wooded fence for my sister and it appeared to be a decent job, so i did not research him and took him at his word which was a giant mistake. He is a charming talker and knows how to talk a very good game. My job started out to be a $35, 000 investment that grew outrageously. First and foremost do not take hm at his word. I kept asking him to put things into writing and show what the cost were and how much more things were going to cost. I continually asked for everything in writing which i never got. His web ad shows ": we are a full service co. 30 yrs exp. 100% customer satisfaction with 8 employees, never use subcontractors free estimates never ask for money up front 100. 00 sign and then 25% draws will offer a 10% discount". While he worked at my home for 5 weeks he had 6 different employees who were all newly working for him and to this date 5 no longer work for him. The quality of work done at my home was and is unacceptable. The grout, drywall, and painting are messy and have to be redone. He walked out off the job before completion. I have never heard of paying a contractor in full until the job was complete.

Don't learn the hard way. Make him put it in writing and stick to his word. Yes there are two sides to every story, but think to yourself what reputable business would have trouble putting things in writing to protect himself and inform the customer.
Now i have debt with a torn up home, messy workmanship, and over $50, 000 at a loss.

Now that i am trying to slowly get my home repaired after the chaos and mess made by gary ernest melchiorre of star brand construction, we have found many work errors and flaws.
Ceramic flooring tile was placed improperly and has hollow places. Electrical wiring trouble, water soluble adhesive was used to place tile in bathroom shower, insulation was not placed, and many many more poor quality work issues still exists. I would never ever recommend gary ernest melchiorre of star brand construction to anyone!

His idea of drywall texture was to use a paint roller to roll on the texture and then run a flat blade on the texture. The quality and appearance was horrible. I am having to get all of my walls and ceilings properly textured.
Liquid nails was used to place tile in a shower instead of thin set. The shower work has messy grout and uneven tile. There are places where grout is missing. Water does not drain out of the shower.
Gary is very good at bragging about himself and how he helps people and does quality work. He and his employees had arguments in front of me and the work was messy. Drywall texture and paint was all over the furniture and house. The painting has runs and streaks. They took no pride or care in the quality of their work.

Gary melchiorre of star brand construction has criminal charges and is a con man. He was dishonest in his business dealings with me. Numerous times i asked him to put things in writing and he did and would not. He took over $51, 000 of my money and left my home torn up with poor quality work. Professional con man gary ernest melchiorre of star brand construction talked a charming line and story as he discussed how he could help me and my family with remodeling and improving our home after being hit by a fire. Unfortunately i fell for his slick talk as he conned me out of over $51, 000 and walked off the job without completing the job and correcting the errors he and his crew made.
I have a handicapped brother with special needs and star brand construction gary melchiorre left my home torn apart and my brother without a restroom to meet his needs. Melchiorre would never put anything in writing. I requested him to place something in writing and he never has. His greed to get more and more insurance money became very apparent. Star brand construction installed a shower that does not drain properly and the grout and tile are uneven and messy. The poor quality work is now costing me to have it redone. Gary melchiorre was well aware of this and other work that he and his crew performed that was unacceptable.
The drywall texture that star brand construction placed on my walls and ceilings is unacceptable and i now have to pay for the job to be done correctly. The tile flooring did not have adequate thin - set and is uneven. The painting has streaks and runs. They moved items in my house and broke many things. Star brand construction caused more problems than i can begin to mention.
Gary melchiorre had high turn over with his employees and arguments in front of me. Gary even tried to get me to pay him in cash. He does not like to have a paper trail or put his empty promises in writing. He initially came off as a caring and concerned person. Unfortunately i learned that he is a true con man. I would not trust star brand construction, gary melchiorre, or anyone connected with this company. Gary melchiorre has felony charges from october 2011 in florida for his so called construction business and business practices.

Gary E. Melchiorre is the true definition of con man. Nothing in writing ever! Took him 5 weeks to do a project in my home. Nothing was done well and the turnover of people working for him was horrendous. Please do NOT trust this guy with anything! I discovered at the end that he put “old” lamanants throughout the living, dining, kitchen, entry . Of course he never answered a call, email, text or anything else when I figured out what he did.
The last check I gave him was $4000 to complete everything and redo some things. Once he had the check in his hands I never saw him again!

Be very careful. I thought I had a great contractor and a really good friend, but I have quite a bit of money and my work was never completed. I still have a bathroom in my master bath that not completed. Pocket door was never painted along with door jam. The hardware to open an close pocket door was never installed.. My kitchen door was never fixed where it leads outside to UNCOMPLETED deck. I paid 1300.00 dollars to have my covers put on my deck at top and those were never installed. I have called numerous times to see if the covers could be picked up at this house and he never returned my calls. He also needed to come back and spray cedar on patio but that was never done. My fence was started for spray, but that was not completed. The bucket still sits on my deck stairs. The hook up was cut for fan hookup on deck but it never got done. I even game him and extra 100.00 to get a fan for outside. I have actually paid for this deck twice. The first time, he took my money and left for the Philippines. That was supposed to be for a week but he stayed for 3 weeks, supposedly because he took ill while over there. I left one last message last week, but am turning it all over to my two son-in-laws who are not happy. The money I spent was from my husband's inheritance. I thought we could enjoy something as a family that I know my husband would have loved for us to enjoy I truly see the pattern and will never trust again.
I plan to gather all checks that were written including my checking and savings account and other accounts that I redrew from. I should have all those posted by the end of the week. He will ask you to pay in cash but that did no take me long to figure out. Be aware and do homework.
