TD Bank don't use them

They will reorder/postpone postings to your online records in order to confuse/charge you overdrafts. They will tell you to bring proof that this has happened (and who keeps screen shots?). They will "hold" cash deposited at a teller for days. They don't post any transactions to your account till the end of the day so they can reorder them in ways that are convenient for them/charge you overdrafts. Get a credit union account or even a credit card (even if you have to pay for one)/savings account. It will be worth your while and I am saving you a lot of time dealing with, there is no other accurate way to say it, evil people.

I have a business account, I have lost over $4000 in overdraft fees and yes doesnt matter how hard I try to avoid this fees they always hit the account. And to those slick that always jump saying ohhhhhhhhh if you dont have the funds dont used it, well...I do have the funds but they trick you in all the ways to hit you with the fees. The goverment doesnt do nothing, the law enforcement doesnt do nothing, the bank and our local politicians doesnt do nothing...My bank account is [protected], I hope that someday 1 judge makes them refund back all the overdraft fees that they have take from us like they ruled in California to Wells Fargo.

I agree. TD is terrible. The got away with the shadiest move in banking history: opting in all clients to mandatory overdraft protection and hitting them with fees for every transaction.
I bet they've at least quadrupled their fee income in the last 6 months. Anyone who was a customer since the days of Commerce Bank had grown accustomed to convenient banking. Transactions posted immediately, online banking was accurate, and there were absolutely no fees so if you tried to use your card and had insufficient funds it would simply be denied.
However, anyone who continues to bank this way has undoubtedly faced hundreds of dollars in fees. I went to complain about this automatic opt in for overdraft protection and tried to opt out 5 times. It never worked so I continued to return, get my fees reimbursed and opt out again. On the sixth time, they refused to refund the fees and the manager told me the opt out was not for debits, only checks. They said that I need to manually balance my account with a pen and paper if online banking is not accurate.

For me this is unacceptable. Is it too much to ask to have it like it was for all those years with Commerce bank. I want a bank that doesn't nickel and dime me but simply makes banking easy. TD proudly shows off the JD Power awards that they inherited from Commerce but then goes and undoes all of the policies that won those awards in the first place.

Bye Bye TD. My search for a customer-friendly bank is well underway. I'm not sure if they exist anymore, but my mattress is my backup plan.

TD Bank pending items

They bounce on pending transactions but they do not credit pending deposits
What happened is I had + 43.22 in my account I made a deposit before the cut off
time of 300 .oo my account went in the neg 179.50 on pending transactions because they would not put my deposit in the pending . so deposit dont count as pending but debits count.
Just another way to screw the little person.

I totally understand your issue. I had a massive issue with pending payments that were not actually seen on pending payments. They processed even after my credit was there and they changed the date. Basically they took a check paid on the 5th, and cashed it the 4th. Doing that, it never showed up in my pending account, but they said since they paid the funds, I had to pay bounce fees. It was crazy, they even bounced my bounced fee. After all said in done on the 6th, I had $350 in fees from them playing games. I got every penny back, I also contacted, the senator for my state and filed a complaint, as well as to the BBB. It is criminal. I screen shot everything, I covered my own butt. They tell you they do you favors, by paying the largest bills first and so on, but that is to only create the largest ability to gain more money for themselves. I don't tolerate, criminal activity. They broke the law, and it I hope one day, they get nailed by the government. They have been in trouble in the past, In your case, you could see the funds, so it isn't illegal, just stinks. You can ask for a refund of fees, sometimes they do give them back.

TD Bank missing deposit

I made a deposit of $724.41 on 9/24/2009. As of 12/23/2009 I still don't have that deposit in my account. The people at this bank give me the run around, and I am at my wits end. They told me at first that there was no transaction of that amount that day, so I put in an inquiry. Then they tell me it was cashed, which never happened. I was told that they were going to check the tapes and call me back. Well, Im still waiting...

If you have money in this bank, don't walk, RUN, and get it out why you still can. I have incurred over $400.00 of OD fees because of this, and the people at the bank are IDIOTS. They got my address and phone number wrong when I first signed up, screw-up #1, they charged me overdraft fees when I had plenty of money in my account, screw up #2 (even though it was all refunded), and now a missing deposit. I just opened this account in July 2009, so all this has happened in the course of 5 months... WTF...

When this is taken care of, I am out of there...

TD Bank bogus fees

I check my checking acct with TD Bank daily, because they have been screwing up so badly since their computer overhaul. I noticed a $210 fee for overdrafts, even though my account was never negative according to my online statement. I go to the bank to find out why I'm being charged overdraft fees. The Assistant Mgr prints out a copy of my statement. Although the debits were all the same on his statement and the one I had printed out at home, the balances on his statements were different, showing overdrafts. So how is it TD can show the account information one way on the internet, and different in the bank. I think they're just manipulating the numbers in the computer so they can charge these bogus fees. I think it's a complete scam, and I filed a formal complaint with The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Their website is: www.helpwithmybank.gov if anyone else feels that TD needs to own up to their scams!

I am tired of being scammed for every dollar I make from this bank. They are unethical. I have started a blog at the below address. Leave a comment. Leave lots of comments. If I get enough interest, I will start writing to the powers that be in our state houses and Capitol Buildings. TD Bank worst customer service/inaccuracy in online banking

I've been banking with TD Bank for over 5 years. Back in October 2009, they had a system error which delayed transactions, direct deposits and especially, lack of customer service. I've been told the only branch to be helpful is the one you opened the account with which was Garden City. When I made the call and explained what the problem was, they insisted 'there is no system failure and we can not return the overdraft fees'. I had to physically walk into the Merrick Branch and explain to them the problem and with no hesitation, they returned all fees. Meanwhile I was there, I signed an opt-out form which basically says, 'you can't make transactions if the $ is not there and the card will be declined'. I felt that would be better to have so I can stay on top of what I have and don't have.
A couple days ago, I checked my online banking, as I do every day, and I was charged $210 in overdraft fees. Two days later, I was charged $70 in overdraft fees. After speaking with several representatives at my local branch, the only branch who can help me is Garden City. When I called Garden City and had the rep. take my info and # for the branch manager to call me, she asked what it was about. Tired of explaining to several representatives, I didn't want to explain it again knowing I would have to explain it to the manager when I get a returned call. Representative's response, 'then she may not even call you back'. Exactly that happened. The same rep. called me back and said 'they can't do anything about it because I had too many fees returned. I mostlikely knew she was referring to the fees during their 'system failure'.
Today, after reviewing my account and the fees taken on online banking, the fees didn't correspond with the negative balances after the transactions were in. They took more than they were suppose to. I made a call to the East Meadow Branch and she read off the transactions the fees reflect on, meanwhile my online banking is showing different.
HOW IS THIS ONLINE BANKING HELPFUL IF I CAN'T GO BY WHAT IT SAYS, BUT I HAVE TO GO BY IT WHEN THEY TELL ME TO SEE HOW THE TRANSACTIONS COME IN BEFORE MY DIRECT DEPOSIT DID AND THATS THE REASONS OF THE OVERDRAFT FEES? YET WHEN I WANT THEM TO EXPLAIN WHY THEY TOOK MORE $ THEN THEY SHOULD HAVE, THEY WANT TO TELL ME WHAT IS NOT SHOWING ONLINE.
Of course, after speaking with the rep., it was suggested to call the branch I opened in which is basically a dead end.

I can't believe that it's nation wide! the customer service is so bad, I have been fighting with them for over 3months now because of a scam and they are NO help. It's like they work with the people that run the scam, they don't protect or try to help the customer. That's what I get for using canadian bank. NEVER AGAIN! I WILL USE TD BANK for anything and I hope they go bankrupt or goto jail for helping scams! GO BACK TO CANADA, where the customer service sucks! I hope CITI and Bank of AMERICA takes them over!

TD Bank incompetence, exorbitant fees

This is an untrustworthy, poorly operated place to keep your money. You deliberately process payments in a way that will incur overdraft fees. You do not automatically cash paychecks which have been automatically cashed for 8 years with Commerce Bank and are secured by TD Bank. Your customer service is awful, on the phone and within each location (I have never met such indifferent, incompetent employees in any bank- lost paychecks? deposits that are never completed?). You famously and consistently are afflicted by computer glitches and employee incompetence, which leads to inconvenience and stress for your poor customers. I will tell everyone I know exactly how awful your bank is, and I will be closing my account as soon as all of my checks have cleared.

TD Bank ridiculous fees

What once was a convenient bank has become completely and irrevocably inconvenient. New fee structures forced upon old Commerce Bank customers are out of control and un-matched in the industry. As if a failed system migration was not enough I have been forced to pay fees through no fault of my own.

TD Bank will fine you when their systems do not correctly update your account balance real time. The will fine you for every occurrence. Their customer service will parrot back boiler plate responses and act as falsely sympathetic corporate drones.

Based on my experiences with this horribly unorganized banking monster I am cancelling my account and moving my money to a bank that actually appreciates my business and I encourage you to do the same.

I'm in the process of switching from TD to PNC bank. I should have left as soon as they started their insane fees, but I was afraid b/c I've had this account for 20 years, and I do like that they have such great hours. But lately I've been paying fees (maintenance + the ATM fees) so often that I'm losing tons of mnoey. They even lost my paycheck once! I (stupidly & unfortunately) had lost the receipt so had no proof, and they didn't believe me that I'd deposited it, but thank God, they finally found it. I was WAY too nice to them - should have called and demanded some kind of compensation for their incompetence and scarint me to death. So, goodbye TD Bank - PNC is even offering me $150 to switch as long as I sign on wtih virtual wallet I can also go to 2 non-PNC bank atms without penalty per month.

You are 100% correct with this. TD Bank is terrible. It's a shame that they took the world's greatest bank (Commerce Bank) and turned it into a thieving fee monger.
Did you find a new bank that's half decent? I'm actively looking for a new bank and will close my TD account ASAP.

Maybe I'm spoiled from all the years of Commerce Bank, but I don't want to do business with a bank as shady and unscrupulous as TD. Is there another bank out there that's decent and values their clients? TD surely does not.

TD Bank is a borderline criminal establishment -PERIOD
After Christmas, I had only $9 dollars in the bank; so I deposited a check for $800.00.
I expected to wait at least three days before having access to it;
but my statement that said I had an "available balance" of $160.00.
The teller said it was automatic. I'd never heard that.
Then she advised me NOT to use any of it until my check cleared because
FOR EVERY SINGLE PURCHASE MADE FROM THAT "AVAILABLE BALANCE" THERE WILL BE A CHARGE OF $ 37.00.
It is something that the usually "forget" to tell you.
Even a loan shark tells you exactly what the rules and consequences are.
And TD Bank lacks the intergrity of a loan shark.

TD Bank online account info

TD banks' online account information is never updated accurately, between deposits and reflecting deductions. I am almost suspicious that it's so inaccurate so that customers will overdraw, thinking they have funds. and get the unbelievably hefty $35 overdraft fee. and I think they know what theyre doing is unjustified. bc they reversed it a few times for me, but now I just want to close this account and overdraft fees are keeping from doing that.
They try, but it's just not a trustworthy bank.

I completely agree with you. TD Bank opted all customers in for overdraft protection and hit you with a $35 fee for every overdraft. However, if you want to opt out so that it instead denies a transaction there are insufficient funds (as Commerce did for years before), you are unable.
I tried to opt out 5 different times and "their system didn't work properly" each time. On the sixth time to the bank to complain the manager told me that the opt out was only for checks, not debit transactions.
This was completely opposite of what the other 5 bank employees told me and also contrary to what TD wrote in the letters that they send out when one of these fees is charged to your account.

While "America's Most Convenient Bank" (Commerce) has now become America's Worst Bank, they continue to show off the JD Power awards as if they were their own. If you agree with this, be sure to write to JD Power to make sure they don't win again when this time they clearly do not deserve it.

TD Bank worst takeover ever, I miss commerce bank.

Ever since the takeover, I have become extremely disgruntled at the lack of customer care, service, and general information this bank has to offer. I was a customer of Commerce Bank for over 10 years. If I needed customer service, I could rest assured they would help me over the phone anytime, anyplace, and in a very timely manner. I never had problems retrieving my information or changing my preferences. The customer service was superior.

Now I want to withdraw all of my money and hide it in a mattress. The customer service is appalling. I have had nothing but problems since the "system update", many of which I experienced during my three week vacation to California (a TD Bank free zone). These problems left me without access to my money. My credit Visa was declined on several occasions, despite having over $2, 000 in my account. When I tried to reach someone via telephone, I was placed on hold for more than 30 mins each time, most of which I ended up hanging up before I even reached a human being. They then conveniently lost my password for my account, calling it "expired".

When I returned, I went into my local branch to update my information and a month later they are still telling me my password is expired. I went in yet another time and wasted more of my time to attempt to reinstate my password. I have yet to know if it is in fact working.

Most recently, I went to the bank a week ago for a replacement debit card to which I was denied due to a "regional" problem with the machines. And a half-assed excuse of we don't know when it'll be working again. A friend of mine also went to the bank, having had a problem with his card strip not working properly. When he asked for a new card, the teller promptly cut his old card in half, before he remembered the debit card machine was in fact not working.

Currently, I am on the phone with the bank right now, and have been trying to speak to an individual in order to make a simple transfer. I have been listening to the hold music for 25 mins and 44 seconds. TD Bank may have eaten Commerce Bank, but it has not even an iota of the quality, making their slogan "America's Most Convenient Bank" null and void.

I shudder with disgust.

I hate TD as well! When I first opened this account was 20 years ago when I first moved to Canada and still after so many years and I never had a bounced ck they still put a hold on my deposit cks, is just disgraceful! If I deposit my ck through ATM to save time only 200 will be released and the rest will be on hold for 11 days! This bank has no respect for its customers! My husband has an account for 10 years with BMO/Harris Bank, they never hold his cks or and he never goes through this hell. I tried to be loyal but I finally had it!
That was years ago now is the opposite!

I too have had a few horrible experiences since the switch to TD. The most pressing of all, I once recieved over $130 in overdraft fees for small debit card transactions made the day after a paycheck cleared leaving over $800 in the account.
When I called customer service, I recieved disturbing news. First, that the online banking site, and ATM reciepts do not reflect the actual avaliable balance in the account. The representative was unable to tell me how I can see my actual balances saying I should keep better track of my finances. This is the entire reason I use a debit card and online checking, so they will keep track for me.
Worst of all, when I said this didnt fell like Commerce Bank anymore, refwerring to the Regis and Kelly advertising campaign that nothing was changing, the customer service rep made a snide remark about it not being Commerce anymore, so get over it.
I contacted branch management about that, but of course I never heard back.

I totally agree with all of these cooments above. Commerce Bank, at Towamencin, Pa. was extremely friendly, when I walked in, I thought I was the bank president, the way they treated me. I got all my family and friends to switch their banks to Commerce and they did. Now that Commerce Bank told me T.D. Bank take over would be better, everyone was screaming, NO don't take away our Big Red "C". But we all know what happened . T.D. Bank took over. Oh they were good for about a year, then they replaced all the employees with Indians that hate infidels. I went in to cash in my change and asked for help, they just sat there and looked at me in discuss. They don't even want to talk to you. I guess I don't have to say it, but my friends and family have since taken their banking to other banks now and I will soon follow. But I would like to say here, "We still LOVE you Commerce Bank, please come back!"

Commerce had all of the customer friendliness of a credit union and all of the services of a big bank. Out of disgust I have left TD Bank for PNC. I chose PNC because they have some of the policies of the old Commerce. PNC isn’t perfect, but they are my employer's bank (so my payroll deposit clears faster) and they have a ton of ATMs at places like convenience stores, supermarkets and highway rest stops which allow me to avoid fees.

I completely agree. Is there any bank out there that is like Commerce? I'm actively looking to leave TD after being a Commerce Bank customer for years, but I can't find any bank even close to the reputation of Commerce.
TD has terribly slow transaction and online banking postings and worst of all is their recent automatic opting-in of all customers to overdraft protection. It was clearly a move to boost their fee revenues and so shady that I completely lost all trust in them.
Yet, despite their new venture into having as many fees as possible, I still saw the old Commerce signs (now in TD green) at the bank 6 months ago that said "Absolutely No Fees!"
They should be force to give back Commerce's JD Power and Associates awards that they promote so much because it's a completely different bank!

TD Bank abuse of fees draining my checking account at td

Ever scince TD took over commerce bank I have been hit with a barage of fees that were never charged before the merge. My account seems to dwindle and its difficult to figure where the money is going. They use clever and difficult to understand codes after 5 and 15 dollar charges. I have to keep checking my account several times per day to catch these charges. Iam going to absolutely drop this bank. Gregory Malangone.

I deposited a government check into my account on a Saturday. On my receipt printed from TD bank, it said my available balance was $269. Therefore, I went and payed a bill, and used my debit card for little transactions. Then I checked my account and I have overdraft fees. That was impossible because I keep my receipts and a spreadsheet for all of my transactions, plus I use online banking. I went to the bank and was told that since it was a Saturday, even tho the receipt said my available balance was $269, the balance was not available until Monday. So all of the transactions I did through out the weekend were all charged a fee.. the total fees charged were $560! First of all, I’m in the “opt out program’..anyway.. I was furious because my account was not overdrawn..and the receipt I have from the bank told me my AVAILABLE balance. So I was told from the bank where I live that they need to call my 'home bank" (where I opened the account, which is 2 hours away from where I live now) because the bank where I live has no say in what goes on in my account. Which i thought was ###..they can take my money..but they cant refund it? So anyway, where I live they said we understand the confusion and your account was not negative, it only became negative because of the charges. They explained this to the manager at my "home bank' and the manager did not want to refund me all of the fees. I was furious because my account was not negative to begin with..i never knew that if the receipt says my available balance..and its a weekend..its not really available until that next Monday. so with all of my fees refunded I would still have 50 bucks in my account.. but instead they refused to refund them all..AND on top of that my bill was returned and not paid..so now I'm going to end up getting a bounced check fee from my bill company! Absolutely ridiculous! I decided to call the 800 number because not being refunded fees i shouldnt have gotten to begin with was unacceptable to me. So as of now, all of the fees have been refunded…this morning I withdrew all of my money and closed my account.

Tired of TD BANK, ever since commerce got bought out it has been a nightmare! They are double changing transactions, over charging fees, and losing checks.. Than the people that work there are just supid... I have to look at my acount more that once a day because, I am terrified that they are going to double charge my transaction, wich they have doon twice already. Then they say I am overdafted wich really not and over charge me on fees. When you talk to someone they don't make any sence, what really happened? For example: I call the bank and talked to someone that just ran me in circles, than whent to the bank and the same thing. Now called the bank a week later to tell them they douple charged me again, didn't mentioned about what happened a week ago but she picked it right away and credit back to my acount. Now why wasn't that noticed the fist time I called or when I whent there, but notice when I'm calling about something else.
Sounds Like they are trying to get MONEY fast, and close the bank and everyone LOSES OUT except THEM.

Td bank is lying and stealing from us. we all need to stand up and stop this, but how do we go about this, we should pick it in front of the banks. i wrote to my congress and told them about TD and told him they need to stop this bank from stealing and be held accountable. Not one person who works at TD has told us the truth about any of these charges. I opted out of their ripped off service. i dont want any charges to my account if i dont have enough money to cover it. but guess what and no one at TD is telling us. even after you opt out you are still getting an overcharge of 35.00, because what they are doing is accepting the charge today and then tomorrow they deny the charge and charging us 35.00 . and for what is that charge. they didnt cover the charge all they do is accept and deny and for that we are being charged 35.00. and no body, no body at td ever told me that. so they are just theives and liars and they need to stop

TD Bank disappearing deposits

Deposited a check yesterday morning (Friday 11/27/2009) at the 136 Margaret St., Plattsburgh NY location, and immediately checked my account balance: the check was there, I was happy.

This morning (Saturday), I find that my account is overdrawn, so I check my account both online AND on the phone (and I called the numbers for both the automated service AND the live representative) and the check is no longer there. It simply disappeared. There is NO RECORD of my depositing a check yesterday morning; it's not in my Account History or in my Pending Transactions. The check simply doesn't exist, according to the numerous representatives I talked to over the phone.

Luckily I have my teller receipt AND a mini-statement from the ATM showing the check, and will be bringing them down on Monday. I can't wait for the runaround and double-talk I'm SO used to getting from TD. As soon as they fix this and put the money back in my account, I'm closing the account and putting my money into Key Bank.

This isn't the first problem I've had with this bank. They've been regularly charging me overdraft fees when my account isn't overdrafted, and then the FEES cause me to be overdrafted, resulting in MORE OVERDRAFT FEES. I never ever had a problem with this bank before the merger, but now they're messing up my account on a regular basis.

I am having this exact same problem, except that I don't have my teller receipt, unfortunately.

I also have had problems with outrageous, stacked overdraft fees. I opted out of their new unlimited overdraft program, in which you can continue to overdraw as many times as you'd like, back in November. Come late December, I had another overdraft issue and they revealed that they'd never put through my opt-out request, despite making a note of it.

They refunded two of the three new overdraft fees and claimed that the last one was non-refundable, until I complained at a later date. Still, hearing "we messed up, now you pay for our mistake, " is not a real incentive to stay with them.

TD Bank overdraft robbery

Not sure how, but TD Bank has successfully sucked $193 out of me today. For ridiculous charges which I didnt even have to accept to be "overdrafted" for. It all started when my account when my account was hit with an overdraft charge from Vibe magazine (an out of buisness magazine I am not even subscribed to) if this was Commerce Bank the charge would have been denied and I would have still had a little bit of money in my account. But I was hit with $8 + $35 to the bank for the overdraft... I was then hit with a similar charge for $10 + another $35 service charge. This is when I am issued a paper telling me I owe $87 to the bank... I am surprised... I try to call up... But apparently with Commerce went the great customer service. So I wait on hold for about 30 minutes until I am told "we cant help you go into your local bank". I go in the next day to find my account has been charged while in the negatives AGAIN.. And I am at an amazing -$177! At this point I sit down with a lady who helps me file a "investigation" for these charges. She assures me I will not me charged anymore. 2 days later I go to check my account balance and I am missing additional money... She must have forgotten to mention the Service Charge coming up for the end of the month... I go into close my account, and pay my $193 that I apparently owe these blood suckers... And instead of feeling relief, I have to watch my account for an additional week because any unauthorized charges may actually REOPEN a bank account which I tried to close down?

IS THIS EVEN LEGAL?

This bank is ridiculous, I cant believe they are getting away with this right now. This is robbery in the truest sense of the word.

TD has hit me with a ton of overdraft fees! I'm an unemployed college student going to school in nyc. I barely have money as it is and I'm getting charged 35 dollar fees for a 1 dollar purchase, not just once but every purchase there after...I usually never get just one, i get hit with 6 at a time. If there are any class action suites against them, I'm on board.

I had over 6 overdraft fees within a few hours. I put my paycheck in which USED to clear instantly but now TD bank only credits part of it. I used my debit card for multiple inexpensive purposes for the next few days thinking my pay check had cleared by the next day. WRONG, that Sunday I realized I had been charged over 220 dollars of overdraft fees from purchases within a few hours and never was once denied at any of the stores. I was able to get 105$ back after talking with an employee. Still, this is absolutely absurd. A good friend got himself into 800$ worth of overdraft fees w/o knowing and they only gave him 100$ back. Needless to say I am closing my account with them. TERRIBLE BANK DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT.

Banking problems with TD Banknorth. Google the president in Maine. File a complaint with the Comptroller of Currency in Texas because I believe they are a federal bank, report them to the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint with your Congressman/woman, State Rep, State Senator, President Obama at the Whitehouse and how about putting it on facebook and myspace and anywhere else you can expose them. Also the Federal Trade Commission.

Fight Back!

TD Bank $600.00 + of overdraft fees.

My complaint against this bank is as follows:

Apparently, when the bank changed to their new system they opt to put $500.00 on your card, therefore if you use your debit card for a $2.00 purchase, even with no money in the account the purchase will go thru, however, you will be charged a $35.00 OverDraft Fee.

This is what happen to me. I had some unauthorized charges go thru the bank. I went to the bank and these items were in Pending Status. Even though, I had Receipts to tell what these Consumers had promised to take, took the receipts to the King of Prussia Branch, they still paid the items and charged me OverDraft fees. This is the start of how the bank messed up my account. Unfortnately, I am not rich. Because of this, I had called Customer Services and advised a TD Bank, C.S. Rep., I had put a Stop Payment on my electric bill, which was $364.00. The Customer Service Rep. said, "On no, your Mortgage was paid and the Electric Bill. I was suprised and I looked at my balance on-line and there was a POSTIVE BALANCE IN MY ACCOUNT OF $372.00. The Customer Service Rep. took the Stop Payment that I had put on my Electric Bill and that is when the night mare began.

Taking the Customer Service Rep. at his word was a big mistake... I went to the Gas Station and put Gas in my Car, and I went to the Grocery Store and purchased Item. It was not until I went to a WAWA and noticed I had a Negitive Balance in my account of -458. Now, I was shocked because why would I be able to get money using my Debit Card when I don't have the money in my account (remember, I had checked my balance on-line and I had a Positive Balance of $372.00 in my account). I called the bank again, and the Customer Service Person, Maurice said, oh that's okay, the bank lets you get money (I thought since I had a problem with some transaction, the bank knew and was allowing me to use my card), that's what the Customer Service Rep. said. Who knew that everytime I used the card, I was being charged a $35.00 OverDraft Fee. I had used my Debit Card the previous week and my Direct Deposit hadn't been Deposited into my account (because of TD Banks problem, I didn't even know about this problems until I noticed my Direct Deposits were not being put into my account on the scheduled date). This caused me problems, but I didn't Charge TD Bank for this Hugh Error).

All I ever heard was the Bank is getting a New System and that is why you may have problems with Direct Deposit. Never knew what the new system was.

Once I saw the Negitive -458 Balance I found out that the Bank now has a Discretionary OverDraft Service. I was never given a choice whether I would want this service, WHICH I DON'T WANT. WHY WOULD I WANT TO PAY $OVERDRFT FEES, WHEN USING MY DEBIT CARD, I MEAN, I MADE PURCHASES ON MY CARD FOR $2.00, $3.00 AND TD BANK is charging me $35.00 each for charges as such.

Of couse I had things coming in and my Direct Deposits. By the time everything came in I have OverDraft Fees of over $600.00.

I explained to the Bank the situation; and how their Customer Service Rep. gave me bad information. Also, just a week ago when I used my card, I was declined because I didn't have enough money in my account. Don't you think the Bank should tell you if this System is now available.

I am so mad. I had 3 Direct Deposits come in and you know that Bank took all my money. I had to cancel my Direct Deposit because as I explained to them, I am a SINGLE WOMEN WITH 2 TEENAGE KIDS, MY MORTGAGE IS DUE, AND OTHER BILLS. ALSO, I NEED TO FEED MY FAMILY. THEY STILLL TOOK ALL MY MONEY. I OFFERED TO WORK SOMETHING OUT.

I DON'T THINK IT'S FAIR THAT THIS BANK WITH ALL THEIR PROBLEMS SHOULD CHARGE ME $600.00 OVERDRAFT FEES WHEN THEY NEVER ADVISED ME OF THIS DISCRETIONARY OVERDRAFT SERVICE; OPT IN. I WAS NEVER GIVEN THE CHOICE TO OPT IN OR OUT. SINCE THE BANK MADE UP THE MISTAKES, EVEN THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DIDN'T GIVE ME THE CORRECT INFORMATION, DON'T YOU THINK THEY SHOULD EAT THESE OVERDRAFT CHARGES?

I AM AT THE POINT OF DOING BANKING THE OLD WAY. I THINK THIS SYSTEM IS JUST A WAY TO STEAL CUSTOMERS MONEY; SINCE THEY DON'T EVEN TELL YOU ABOUT THIS NEW OPT IN/OUT SERVICE UNTIL IT'S TOO LATE.

NO MORE BANKING FOR ME. I KNOW THERE ARE MANY MORE UNHAPPY TD BANK CUSTOMER.

I HOPE THIS BANK FOLDS, FOR WHAT THEY DONE TO ME.

THANKS TO THEM, MY FAMILY WON'T HAVE MUCH OF A CHRISTMAS.

I am having the same problem with TD Bank. A month ago, I noticed an overdraft fee of $35 when my balance never went negative. They wouldn't reverse that fee. The manager reversed 2 others that occurred after that. However, now I have 3 overdrafts that should have been 1. I made 2 purchases which did not bring my account to a negative. I made sure to check my balance. A week later, I made 1 more purchase that overdrew my account. This one I know would have the fee attached. However, I just received a letter saying that there were 3 transactions that they posted the "fee" on. They "posted" the transactions to the account all on the same day, which they also did in reverse order. TD Bank does this to accrue more fees. I know the dates I completed these actions, and I am tired of the lack of ethics that this bank utilizes.

i am having the same issues with tdbank...

First of all, i dont live near a branch anymore so i mail in money orders...they recieved one just like they do every week and cleared it through my account . Next day i am flooded with overdraft fees and there is no record of this money order... i spent 2 weeks talking from person to person asking where my money order is and why was it "magicly" taken out of my account WITH NO RECORD OF THIS noone helped me whatsoever, , YET they did remove ONE fee...i recieved the money order inthe mail exactly 2 1/2 weeks later with a "post-it" stating "not signed properly". Now what i dont understand is where is a typed up document instead of a post it...where is the record of money being entered and removed from my account...and why did i still have to pay the fee..and why was it not signed properly when for over 1year the way i was doing it was fine...

Second of all..MY issue that im dealing with now..overdraft fees once again...10:30 pm balance of my account $17 direct deposited paycheck of $200 4 hours later..now im being charged $105 in late fees that apparently went through in that 4 hour period...all my statements state that i never went negative ..the response for that" yeah it wont show that" now why the hell doesnt my own account statement show me the reason that im being charge 105 dollars..ive talked to 2 managers and noone will help me.." WE CANNOT REMOVE FEES AT THIS TIME BECAUSE WE REMOVED FEES A PREVIOUS TIME THIS 6 MONTHS" FOR THE ISSUE THEY ALSO CAUSED WITH THE MONEY ORDER!

ive been so good and loyal to this bank since i was 15 years old..im now 23...ive never had issues like now...COMMERCE Was a good bank..TD is the worst bank, business, or anything ever...i will be taking this to the news, and i encourage others to do the same..post all you can because this bank is cheating people out of money and they are V ERY far behind in proper technological needs for banking.

So i told the manager either the fees get removed or they need to instruct me on how to close my account..he had no problem giving me steps immediatly on how to close...thats also a shame...ive never had overdraft fees, ive never been an issue to them, and they dont care about loyalty or trying to keep the few people they still have.

FYI td is known for "buying" good banks and ripping people off...Td bank is also branched with canadian banks and they are pullin the same crap up there.

I really think the best way to deal with TDBank is become a thorn in their side. I am looking into filing a class action suit against the bank for their unfiar over draft practices. They are clearing the large items first to maximize their overdraft revenue. Take a close look at your statement and you will see a pattern.

TD Bank unethical fees

TD Bank now charges a 15/month service fee for anyone whose account balance is less that $100.00. that equates to a $185.00 a year penalty for not being quite as wealthy as TD Bank thinks you should be. ...And everybody is ok with this?

TD Bank recently robbed my account of of all the money I had in it and now has the balls to continue charging me the $15/month poor tax thus sending my balance into negative numbers.

Let me be clear: They steal your money from your account, then charge you for not having enough money in the account!

I have contacted my state snators, banking commisioner, representatives, and news outlets and I hope ther is the political will to give TD Bank a good banking regulation "smackdown".

I am interested in starting a grassroots campaign on this, also. If anyone is interested in flexing your muscle as consumers and customers, please get in touch with me to see how we can concentrate our resources to deliver a little justice to TD Bank. my email address is: [protected]@thewholetree.com Don't let the man get you down!

first nicky boy i really cant understand all you typed because your obviously an un educated idiot. but if your gambling money, dont talk. thats a foolish thing to do if your crying poor. if your so poor buy what you need and dont gamble... save that for people with real jobs and can afford to live extravagant lives

second, as far as fees. do you honestly expect a bank to keep an account in thier bank and the admin. costs it takes to keep it in there (believe it or not even something non-tangible like an account costs money to a company) sooo they dont want to keep accounts that have nothing in them, to avoid this they charge fees... also, they make people keep minimums so that you have some kind of savings of some sort.

ugh idiots.

I am paying on a credit line that I never wanted, but do not want to ruin my credit. I have been notified that I was $1, 776.22 overdrawn. This is ridiculous, as I do not get overdrawn.
I have talked to Elizabeth at your Paoli Branch three times, she was supposed to take care of it and has never gotten back to me, I have spoken with Carrie, who is downright rude. I have spoken with Customer Service and they were supposed to transfer me to a supervisor, then cut me off.
I am asking for this to be corrected immediately, as I was not overdrawn.
This was the period that you were having all the trouble with your system.
I had a $400.00 deposit floating around for six days that no one could find.

I have closed my savings account with you and am going to pay off my loan and go with another bank.

I am very unhappy about this as I never had any kind of a problem when you were Commerce.
My income and outgoing bills are pretty much the same monthly.

I check my account daily either on line or by phone and neither stated I was in a minus or low balance.
I keep excellent records, so there is no way this could have happened.

Please correct and advise ASAP.

Thank you for your help.

TD Bank - hidden pending transactions

I was hit with multiple overdraft fees on my checking account, totaling some $240. At $35 dollars per transaction. My account balance showed a positive $17 dollars after I had transferred cash out. My online account showed NO pending transactions. However, there where pending transactions that only the Bank could see on there system. And so I was not...

TD Bank over draft fees

I hope TD Bank Burns in hell for what they've done to me and millions of others. I had Commerce bank for ten years and never had a problem. TD bank doesn't know how to process credit card transactions. Words can't even describe how much I hate them for costing me hundreds in over draft fees. I make very little money and work hard for it. The last thing I want is to give up half my paycheck to the bank for overdraft fees, just so some fat over privileged bank executive can eat his daily steak dinner and get a new Maserati at the end of the year. BURN IN HELL! I feel bad for all the good people at the bank branches who have to deal with this torture of TD Bank. better start looking for a new job cause TD Bank will loose all their customers and ROT IN HELL! Fu*k TD BANK I feel like I can never trust a bank again!

On Sunday December 6th I discovered from the bank that my account was hacked into, and that led the manager to further investigate the issue. In the mean time the bank started charging me overdraft fees ranging from $110 to $220 and there were about 10 such fees charged to my account.

I told the bank manager in the Ritthenhouse Square branch about the fees and he told me to contact the home branch were I opened the account. I told him why should I call them aren't you all linked? But he was very firm in his answer, so I called the Chadds Ford, Pa branch and they referred me to Newtown Square branch. Now I am in contact with this branch and it is almost two weeks that I have got any response from them.

I am not sure which branch refunded my money, but I got my money back but still I have not got my overdraft fees back.

Yeah TD bank just ###ed destroyed my life, amazingly enough. They suddenly added a 'new fee' that kicked in after a year, which stated that if the account was less than $100, that a new rule subtracts $14.00. Of course the dumb ### subtracted the $14.00 from my account with $10 in it. Sending my account to negative $94. Of course I wasn't notified of it. Of course it was a deliberate attempt by them to scam people with nothing.

Listen to me you ###ing ###s. You ###ed up, that's your withdrawal, your dumb ### mistake. You ###ing pay for it. If TD bank thinks they can TAKE that money from me, you miserable ###-eating ###s, over my dead body, you understand me you maggot ###? You aren't getting ### from me. You want to rob me? You better come with a shotgun, rob me to my ###ing face you ###ing ###.

You knock off my ###ing account, I lose my website, my automatic payments, everything tied to my ###ing account, you pieces of ###. I want suffering and agony for you. I want suffering, misery and agony inflicted on you.

I was charged overdraft fees for no apparent reason. I spoke to a manager who goes by the name of maryanne who is the worst customer service rep ever. This company just keeps trying to charge overdraft fees in order for their workers to get the bonuses. I was very frustrated when trying to resolve this issue with this Maryanne and when I got upset cuz she was not understanding my frustration I called her dumb and she hung up on me. Is this really how you treat a customer when customers is what keeps your job going. I have been a cutomer myself for 10 years and I will be opening another account in another bank cuz these fees are ridicul. my pending transactions were not taken off my balance according to that dumb lady which there for caused the over draft fees. I think this bank just looks 4 a way to screw ppl over n then makes it seem it was ur fault n not theirs. I really am looking forward 2 banking with another bank since tjis is not the first time this bank has made a mistake on my account.

You are entitled to a refund...don't stop until they give you your money back. We should file a class action lawsuit against them.

They charged me a fee because they deducted $15 from my account because my balance was under $100. Not under ZERO, under $100. Then their withdrawal caused me to be overdrafted. So basically, for having $7 in my account I was charged $50. $15 for having only $7, and another $35 because they took my $7 and then some. It's my fault (maybe) that I didn't know about this (don't recall getting notification of this), but theirs for being ###. So I am sick of hearing people say stuff like "Then just don't overdraw" I have NEVER overdrawn in my LIFE before this. I Do know how to add and subtract, and I am not trying to blame someone else. They are doing their BEST to make sure you DO overdraw.

Seems this mess gonna be over soon.

The FED thinks consumers need to be protected from the evil banks, so Maggie don't come and say it's normal/reasonable practise from banks when there even comes a law against it.

MAGGIE: Do you understand that this bank is completely shady in what they post and when, CAUSING most people to overdraw? I do my online banking and check it constantly and things will be posted that aren't showing up on my online statement, so when I use my card I get charged a fee. I ###ING HATE THIS BANK TOO! I HOPE THE CEO BURNS IN HELL TOO! They have charged me $410 in overdraft fees, in ONE DAY. And are still posting fees! I CAN'T WAIT to get rid of this bank!
