Target hiring now but won't hire me

I have been a target shopper for years now and have always been satisfied with your products and services. At the entrance of every target store in the des plaines, illinois area where I live, I always see signs saying hiring now and whenever I apply online I am always told, & ldquo;sorry, we can’t use you. & rdquo; I apply every 90 days and the answer is always the same. Okay, so maybe you’re going to say I should get in touch with the two niles illinois stores where I applied and ask them. But I am not persuaded they will tell me specifically why I am & ldquo;radioactive” and not able to be hired. So I thought I would tell you what I think.

I’m 70 years old, in good health, have an mba in finance, worked 34 years for the same company where I served in information technology both as a specialist and a department head. I worked in client service resolving client questions. The company I worked for went & ldquo;belly up” and I want a job. Perhaps people think i’m too old or I just want a job un-til I get something better. Well it’s like this. I am free to continue working. I am not working to save up extra money to buy presents for grandchildren or stuff like that.

I want to work at target to supplement my personal income and to learn about things which are important to me at this time in my life; things like how to shop intelligently, how to find good nutritional value at economical prices in short, how to survive by spending money intelligently and I am thinking that if I were to land a position with target, I could learn a lot about these things. Now if store personnel think I might not like working conditions I only want to say everything with me is negotiable; pay, benefits, shift times, etc. Could anyone there tell me why I am not considered a good fit for your company. Just thought i’d ask.

Do you have any retail experience? Places at Target always keep help wanted signs up even if they are not hiring at that time so when they do need someone they have a list. Maybe you are just at the bottom of the list.

Target online ordering

I live in the Florida keys and if you know anything about the keys there is no shopping! So I ordered a duvet and set of curtains online threw target using PayPal as my check out method to save time! Well the curtain arrives 3 weeks later and it's only 1, not a huge surprise but online it states 2 panels! So I call costumer service long story short I was on the phone for 2 hours! Not exaturating! First w some kid after 1 hour 20 min asked to be transferd to a manager, 1 she had no idea about the previous 90 minute conversation, and turns out I was transferred to someone in the phillippins! Put on hold again transferred back to the us only to haft to pay $27 for another panel which was not on sale anymore and did not qualify for free shipping!

Target target cashier won't accept my check

I went to the Target to do some shopping today. I purchased, or intended to purchase over $200 worth of merchandise, only to have my Bank of America courtesy check denied by your agent. I went to BOA after leaving your store to see what was the matter. I was told my account had no issues. have had exemplary credit almost all my life. This was an embarrassment to myself being denied the purchase in front of the people behind me. The supervisor there offered no help just saying that’s what the computer says!

Well I higly doubt I will return to a Target store after this. I was a monthly shopper there. I would like to see what kind of response I get from you at this level. I was wrongly parked outside of tour target store on sunday waiting for my wife who was about to come out when an employee from that store who was recollecting shopping carts came to yell at me and wanted to start a fight with me because he wanted me to move. I moved my car and proceeded inside the store for a complaint when that same employee came inside and told me i was a “wuzz and didnt have the balls to fight him instead of telling on him”.

Why do you make it so hard to cash a “cash back check” that you send to my husband? No one has the right to ask for our social security numbers and yet that it what you require to cash a check. Why can’t we just use our driver’s license the way we do when we write a personal check? Also, why can’t my husband sign and then I sign and cash the check with my driver’s license ID? It seems that you purposely have made it difficult. This makes no sense when you are the one who sent the check to us. It has all the attributes of a scam.

The security employee who was at the door was hearing him as he told me this and wouldnt do anything. I told him that i was going to call the police as the employee kept on telling me the “lack of balls i had” for not confronting him, all of this happening while there was alot of people watching as you can imagine, the whole line of cashiers were just staring. After the security person sent this employee out the back the manager approached me, i told her i wanted to report the police because i felt threatened coming out but she (manager) told me she would take care of the situation.

She said there was cameras outside as well as inside the store and told me she would take care of the situation. I take responsability for my fault but there is no reason for one of your employees to insult, and threaten, pick a fight and try to embarass me in front of many people. If that employee would have been courtious in the first place none of this would have happened. I did not call the police because my wife convinced me not to, but i hope that this incident will not be taken for granted.

Target this is the most ridiculous policy I have ever seen

In today’s ad you advertise a Baby Boat Float for $12, went to the store just now at 12:00 p.m. after church and your store and all stores in Sacramento were out of them. The store I went to said there were 7 in stock and sold out at 8:00 a.m. I thought could order online and this product cannot be sold on line according to your web site. Everytime it seems I want a product at Target, and I realize it is summer, or whatever time of the year it is, your stores do not get very many of them and it is first come first serve, I realize, however, but not everyone can come in when your store opens. You could at least have it online when it is advertised in your weekly ads. It is very frustrating.

On a good note though I do love Target and especially your grocery department. There are very few items I can’t find at your store without going to a grocery store, but that is alright. While shopping at Target this past weekend, I purchase one bottle of wine. When checking out, the clerk asked to see my ID. I showed her my DL and she said she had to scan it. I told her to take the wine off our bill and she said she couldn’t do that (why not–too much trouble?). We have purchased liquor from all kinds of retail stores and have never been asked to scan our DL. I let her do it but realized I should have refused.

There is already too much of our information out there. This is the most ridiculous policy I have ever seen–when did you start doing this? I will never buy liquor from Target ever again! We are usually asked to see our ID for verification when using a credit card, which I have no problem with. You need to rethink this policy! An unsatisfied customer!

The strip on the back of your ID is intended to be swiped, or else it would not be there. The clerk is only doing what is asked of her for the sake of her job. Get off your high horse and accept that the world is technologically evolving.

Target racist treatment for target employees

I am a young American American female who is a frequent target shopper. When I enter the manchester or enfield CT store I am followed every time I walk into the store. I try to shop the store looking for deals I will watch an item that I want and continue to go to the store to check if it has been marked own low enough for me. It’s frustrating having someone follow you around the store as if you did something. I have call the office with several complaints regarding this issue as well as calling complaining about your employees putting items in their carts while their marking items down.

Every time I call customer service someone apologizes for my experience and state they will send my complaint to corporate office . I have never stole anything in my life and never will if you need me to see you my background checks I can because I am so fed up with this serve form of harassment. Know one should feel the why I do when I come into the store. I use to love shop at target but now I feel I’m a big TARGET every time I go into the store . I would not wish this type of experience on anyone. I plan to contact the better business bureau if I continue to go through the chain of command and nothing gets done about.

Actually, Target is very diverse, especially with their employment. To be honest, if an African American person without any retail experience and a White American person with years of experience and good references to prove it, the African American person will get the job. Their tolerance for bad behavior is MUCH higher when it comes to African American employees compared to White American employees. I highly doubt your race has anything to do with why they follow you around. If they truly were suspicious of your behavior they would have a plain clothed loss prevention employee following you around rather than the obvious red and khaki clothes employees. I'm sure they're just doing their job with the "how may I help you?" slogan or whatever it is. Also, how do you know the employees are putting items that they marked down in their cart as they're marking them down? It would be rather obvious to EVERYONE if they were walking around with a cart of their own merchandise to be purchased during their lunch break! They usually do their markdowns in the back or before the store opens. If they're relocating the items they have to put them in a cart to move them to another location.

Seriously though, the whole racial profiling is pretty unbelievable knowing that Target would hire someone unqualified in every way for a position because they're African American.

Target I will be canceling my red card and will no longer shop at target

Ordered a couch on 10/24 from target.com. The original delivery date emailed to me was 10/29. I got an email on 10/27 saying: delayed until 11/4. I am now much more frustrated after receiving another email on 10/30 saying that it will be delivered on 11/7. I opted to cancel and buy locally. Fumbled around the link emailed to me a couple of hours earlier. No success in canceling my order.. Called customer service and learned that contrary to an email received hours ago, I can’t cancel. Target really needs to get their online ordering act together!

Customer service was pleasant, but useless. Tried to email my complaint (almost exactly what I’m writing here) through target.com. Hit submit, and it told me to please enter a valid question or concern! Ha! Apparently my frustration isn’t valid to them. This will be my last order! I recommend avoiding target.com.

I ordered a sark razor scooter online at target.com on sale plus I had a coupon. UPS returned the item back to target.com because it was damaged intransit. I was never contacted about this issue. The item is out of stock online but available at my local store. The price is now $159 NOT $122 and my coupon has expired. Target should honor the price I purchased it at and let me pick up my purchase at my local store. They will not. I will be canceling my red card and will no longer shop at target!

Target website order problems

I was proactive this year by going on line to purchase a lot of things at Target. On 11/24/2011, I ordered several DVDS on line and received an email stating my shipping informaiton. I waited until after the specified shipping date with no items. I telephoned Target and talked with a representative. I was told to go online to reorder the items and they will honor the original costs. I was having difficulties shipping to a P.O. Box address and I had to call again.

I talked with a representative and she supposedly was going to honor the Black Friday costs for the items. I received an email stating a different cost from which I aggreed upon and was told would be the finaly cost. I had to call again to get it change to the Black Friday costs. I guess I will find out in 48 hours.

On Sunday, August 21, 2011 12:35 PM, I placed a gift order for my brother. You have deducted the funds from my gift cards and have yet to deduct the balance from my bank account. Your company did not have the decency or the professionalism to send out an email informing customers of your behind the scene issues. Moreover, there is no record of my order on the website or via your customer service when I made a call.

There is no history of my order, save the confirmation email and the fact that you have the money from my gift cards–something I could have used to pick up a last minute item had there not been a major screw up by your company. What baffles me is that I am switched to another department when I called in and was on hold for too long of a time. Really why would that be even a suggestion when you have no record of my order according to your phone service rep? Do you really expect to keep your customers that has been affected by this?

Can someone contact me regarding my order and my Gift Card money?! This is absolutely unacceptable! Here it is, more than a week later and no correspondence regarding my order. At the very least an email could have been sent to all in your database apologizing and explaining and compensating for this!

Target poorly trained employee

I was in the target Store in Cheektowago. NY (walden galleria). I went to purchase multiple items after collecting various coupons I used and spending a great deal of time finding the products and making sure they were appropriate for the ooupons being applied. The girl at the checkout bagged and put all the items in my cart (I had a very large order with multiple bags). After she started applying the coupons she began questing whether on purchased them and refused to look on the register receipt on the computer but made me dig though the bags to show her each iten (even if i bought three; i had to find all three!) really.

The line was building up. The last item she questioned (and by this time i was really annoyed) I could not find it while digging through the bags several times and it was in a bag by her; not even in the cart! We got the item out; she said this is not the right size for the coupon and I stood there thinking “how could that be”?. After I looked at the product I said wait a minute it is the right size and had to literally show her the size!. My daughter is a cashier at a local grocery store and she agreed that it was really ridiculous how she dragged out that whole transaction, held up the line and embarrassed me.

I have not had this happen in all my Target travels so I am assuming this female was likely poorly trained. I appreciate your feedback. I am a long time valued customer.

That was probably not the right way to do it, but she was probably new and didnt want to mess up. Maybe try keeping all your items you have coupons for all together at the end of your order so they can be checked as she scans them.

Target racial profiling by employee

On Monday, Nov. 28, 2011 I walked into the Target in Houston, Texas on N Eldridge and FM 1960 with my wife. As my wife and I were shopping, in the mens cologne, makeup dept. The P&L employee Leon was following me everywhere in the store as if I was stealing. I asked him why he was following me around, and he said “I am just doing my job”. As he continued to follow my wife and I around, my wife asked him why, and he replied like a robot, the same thing, “I am just doing my job. I left all my merchandise in the basket and asked for a Mgr.

Another black employee, Teresa the “Mgr”, said he was just doing his job, and she would ask Leon why he was following us. No police where called, because I or my wife were not stealing. We left becasue of the way we were treated. Because of my race, Hispanic, doesn’t mean I have to be treated like a theif. I have never stolen, nor do I have a criminal record. To be treated that way after shopping at that store for years, and spending $ there since day one was very upsetting.

No one should be treated that way, unless you are caught red handed, and Mgrs., should not stick up for the employess unless they are right. I could have swore, the reason places like that stay around is because of my $. I hate to be profiled, and I can’t think, and they cannot justify what they did tonight at the store. They have lost my business. Walmart, I am coming back !

Target target won't refund my damaged item

I received the Evenflo Triple Fun Jungle Exer Saucer on 11/17. The box was beat up and had a hole in the front. It was missing a piece (upper leg crown) and several of the pieces had black marks on them and looked dirty. I called first thing this morning (11/18) at 8:30am CST and spoke to many of your “team members”… first there was Ellie. I explained what was wrong and verified all my information. She put me on hold to speak with her supervisor and came back and said she was going to transfer me to an Account Specialist.

Josset was the second “team member” I spoke to. She asked if she could help me. I asked if Ellie had explained anything to her. She said no so I proceeded to explain everything all over again and verify my information all over again. Ridiculous! I was told that UPS had to pick the item back up, return it to Target, then Target would ship me a new one. Seriously! I asked Joset if she could speak with her supervisor about shipping it out Next Day Air. I had already paid for the item and I received it damaged, dirty, and missing a piece. Why should I be penalized right? Well, she was not able to upgrade the shipping but she did offer a 10% discount.

That is nothing compared to having the product though. I went ahead and agreed since I felt there was no other option. I explained to her that I thought this was bad customer service and I would never be ordering from Target online or at a store again. She gave me case #3-[protected] to use so that if I needed to call back in I wouldn’t have to explain everything again. All I would have to do is give the case number. I received the replacement email that stated the estimated delivery date was 12/12/11. Ummmm, I don’t think so!

I called back and spoke to a third “team member”. It was extremely hard to understand her name so unfortunately I didn’t get it. I asked her to spell it at the end of our conversation but she did not. I gave her the case number and she had no idea what that was. I began to explain everything AGAIN to her and gave her all my information. I then gave her my order number and told her that I wanted to cancel the replacement so that I could order it from somewhere else. I didn’t want to have to wait 2 weeks to get my item.

She told me that I talked too much and she was going to have to transfer me. Can you believe this? I sure can’t! I have always loved Target. Ehhhhh, not anymore! I asked her if she could just transfer me to Josset since she had just talked with me. She said she could not and then transferred me.

Now, we are at the fourth “team member”…. Gail. I told Gail that I was extremely frustrated and was hoping she could help me and asked if I could give her my case number so I didn’t have to explain everything again because girl with no name told me I was talking too much. She actually knew what a case number was. She cancelled the replacement and is having my credit card credited for the purchase. I asked her if Target would be sending UPS back out to pick up the package.

She said that I would have to call UPS and take care of that. Again, ridiculous! Why should I have to take my time to call UPS and set up an appointment to have them come pick up the package when this clearly was not my responsibility. But, I will do this because I need to have it returned in order to get my credit.

Ellie was nice and helpful but I wish before she transferred me she would have let the next person know what was going on. I find it frustrating to speak with someone and give all that information just to be transferred to someone who has no idea what is going on and then have to repeat it all over again. Josset did a great job but her hands were pretty much tied. She took my fussing like a champ and sympathized with me. I really appreciated that so kudos to her. Girl with no name…. still can’t believe she told me that I was talking too much. Not cool! I’m thankful that Gail was able to cancel my replacement but I didn’t care much for her attitude.

I had a friend order this today from AMAZON.COM and it will arrive TOMORROW…. THANKS AMAZON! Should have went to them to begin with. I learned my lesson. I will not be shopping at Target online or at a store again.

I don't blame you for being upset with how they treated you. It is customer service for a reason not i hate my job don't talk to me. If you don't like your job then leave. My mother had this issue with an att representative that basically made a racial comment and hung up in her face. Uh yea of course people will have a problem with how they are treated by someone that obviously can't work with people and hates their job. The other comments are stupid. if someone said something out of line to you guys you would be pissed too so stop making it seem like it was all her fault. If you have a problem don't read it plain and simple. Ignorance is what got that att guy fired keep that in mind.

Target I won't ever use target on line if this isn't fixed

I tried for two days to order a ALIVE doll but after hours on the computer and being billed for FOUR orders and no way to delete and being told to give my Number which I didn’t remember I gave us and call Toys R Us and got my order without and problems disgusted with Target. I did pay $2 more because it wasn’t on sale. But it was worth it. Also, for some reason the Super Target in Savage, Minnesota has what looks like a homeless person with about a 12″ long skinny beard working in the produce department without a beard net or gloves. I observed this person on a recent visit, stroking the full length of his beard with his hands and then he proceeded to stock fresh produce on the shelves. YUK!

The store manager must think there’s nothing wrong with that. I will not buy any produce from any Target store after this incident. I have been trying for a half hour to simply order two oven mitts, and it won’t let me check out. You already have my registratrion and my credit card info, but every time I try to checkout it won’t even take me there. This is Christmas. I deserve better treatment than this. I won’t ever use target on line if this isn’t fixed.

Target do not register at target baby registry

Do Not register at Target! I registered with Target Baby a few months ago and have had nothing but headaches. Their website is a disaster and crashes every day. Items go out of stock almost as soon as you put them on making it impossible for your friends and family to purchase items off your registry. Nearly 70% of what we registered for a month ago are now out of stock! Customer service is a nightmare and they put you on hold for over an hour only to disconnect you at the end. We’ve had gifts sent to us off our registry with no packing slips or information about who sent these items.

I have to ask around to all family and friends and do my own detective work to find out who sent me these gifts. Not a single person at my Target store or Target.com can tell me who sent these gifts. How absurd is that? They were shipped from the Target warehouse and they cannot identify who purchased the item. Save yourself time and hassle and register at Babies R Us!

We did a wedding registry and there and so many items went out of stock almost as soon as we put them on there. The gun that you use in the store to scan items you want broke three times while we were making our registry. During the next 2 months, we got many gifts in the mail, but none said anything about who they were from. We called Target to find out who sent them, and they said they could only tell us with things ordered online. Well, all of the items were ordered online, and yet they still could not tell us who purchased them. The person we spoke to on the phone seemed to know nothing about how it worked and put us on hold endless times asking other people how to find the information we requested, and in the end said there was no way to gather that information. Now we are stuck with the job of trying to figure out who sent us about 10 presents. Thanks a lot Target. What a waste of time. We also made a registry with Amazon.com and they were great. Most items had free shipping for our guests, (we had an out of town wedding). Not only that, but they have an automatic thank you list generated with the names and address of the people who sent the gift, in addition to a picture of the gift. You can't go wrong with Amazon, they made it such a breeze. I regret ever going to Target for my wedding registry.

I completely agree - Think twice before registering (baby) at Target! We received 4 different gifts in the email - not knowing who they were from until the last box arrived with the note on it from who sent it. We were then able to match up the order numbers to ensure it came from the same person. I just called customer service because the Pack n Play we registered for is STILL out of stock. All I was requesting from them is a friendly email saying when my item is in stock. She said she would fill out a form and send it to the right department. She nor her supervisor (who wouldn't even talk to me) didn't know the process or when I'd receive an email. You can't just wait for things like these when you have a baby due right around the corner! All she would say is just check back on your registry. Well I would if I worked in front of my computer everyday! Other places have it in stock. And Babies R Us even sends you an email when it comes in stock! Target could have made the situation better if they would have given me cash for the gift cards I received. But Target is unwilling to give us cash for those. Go figure. Register at Babies R Us...and put those 20% off coupons to good use!

Target ordering problems with website

On the 14th of September, I placed an order through the .com/website. I rec’d an email from Target.com immediately after completing my order, confirming the order, providing me with an order # and an estimated delivery date for my order. The estimated delivery date was from 9/20 to 9/22/11. Today is 9/29, and I have not yet rec’d the order. I attempted to look up the order status on line, which did not work.

I phoned the number listed for customer service, was eventually connected to a young woman who could barely speak English, and who proceeded to tell me that “due to the fact that we have a “bad computer”, the order ended-up in Target’s “junk pile”, and therefore, “will not yet been filled.” I beg your pardon, but I am writing to you from the ordering computer, which is a 2011 MacBook, used by me exclusively. She was rude, did nothing to help the situation, interms of apologies, no offer to re-order and expedite my shipping due to my inconvenience, and then disconnected the call.

If you truly do record calls for quality assurance, whom, may I ask, listens to them? I had to call back, the first woman had deleted my original order, and we had to start from scratch. This employee spoke perfect English, but asked me to repeat every single thing I said, at least once. She was slow, not very accommodating, and again, no offers to ship my order more quickly due to the inconvenience.

If we did not truly need the book cases that I ordered, trust me, I would NOT re-order them. Going forward, I will be much more judicial about trusting Target.com with my money, my order and my time. Target stores are exemplary, in my opinion, but your online ordering system is pitiful, at best. This whole situation has cost me over one hour of my time today, we’ve waited two + weeks for a non-existant order to arrive, and never rec’d any communication from Target to say that the items should be re-ordered due to a problem on your end.

Target false advertising on debit card

I have a great credit score and pride myself on paying my bills on time. However, after being harassed each time I check out at Target, I finally applied for a Target debit card to save the 5% per transaction. Imagine my embarrasment to be told I'd been denied. I immediately called, got passed from Target customer service to their credit agency and back, and finally was told I was denied because of my check writing history at Target. NOT my overall check writing history, but only that of Target history. Firstly, who writes checks at retail establishments anymore? Secondly, their "fine print" states that the credit agency also checks overall check writing history. Sorry, but that is BULL. I believe that Target does not want customers to save 5% each time. They would rather have folks apply for a credit card and carry revolving debt so that they can make even more money. What's wrong with them? With so many Americans over their head in debt and struggling to make ends meet, I disagree with that strategy. I say "Walmart, here I come"!

I agree. The same thing happened to me. I tried 3 times to use my Target card and it was declined and I had to use my regular debit card each time. I have a flawless credit report. I even called Certegy, the company used by Target to verify fund availability and credit history, and they verified there was no reason for my transactions to be declined. When I spoke directly to Target, the rep told me I had to establish a check writing history with them by spending less than $100 per transaction for a few months. Afterward, they would trust me to use my card for bigger transactions. The primary problem with my declined transactions was that each was nearly or over $300. This is normal for me as I grocery shop for 2 weeks at a time. I spend about $10, 000 a year at Target and have for years, but now I can't be trusted to spend over $100 because the company chose not to use the information they pay Certegy to provide. I cancelled the card. There was no point in my keeping an account open on something I couldn't use.

Target rufusal of refund/rude manager

Home scale purchased two days ago on debt card. Tried to return, with receipt, and they offered me store credit. I demanded cash because after this experience I would never shop there again. Christian Owen, ETL-Guest experience kicked me out of the store for demanding my money back. I have since contacted Target as well as the BBB and awaiting results. BEWARE OF TARGET.

When you are walking down the street in 120 degree heat, blink your eyes and awaken to being drug across the road, freezing cold, with the the taste of blood, total loss of hearing, the side of your face numb, the smell of gunpowder, panicking because you lost your weapon, and wondering if that boot laying in the road with the splintered bone hanging out the top is your own or not, then can we talk about temper tantrums. Funny thing is none of you had a problem with viscous attitudes when we were dealing out justice in sandland. And just so you know, you can't just snap your fingers and become the same person after war. In addition: I am not the one who initiated the calling of names to ANYBODY. My original post briefly detailed a customer service failure at Target, that is all. And on that note: it was indeed Target's mistake. Apparently the bar code between the product and the receipt was incorrect. All it took was for the cashier to MANUALLY key in the code. Whatever happened to the customer is always right?

There was nothing at all in your original post about bar codes not matching, or that being the reason you couldn't get a refund in cash when you made the purchase with a debit card.

I always get a kick out of people commenting about others only being tough on the computer, and then talking tough on the computer. The irony always makes me laugh. Of course, in this case, corey's response was very weak. Corey, you seem like the type who only calls out people who are in their car, already driving away and then saying something like "yeah you better keep driving." even though they were completely ignoring you.

i...didn't... say my opinion was worth anything i was just saying why i said what i said. why is everyone trying to make an argument over this all i did was try to give the guy sourced facts? is it because i sound like im defending him? because I'm just trying to put myself in his state of mind and tell what i think he will or wont read. i mean yeah, the second chance thing is defending him but that's not really exclusive. but there is always the chance I'm only interpreting these comments as trying to start an argument and really they are just giving criticisms.

well I'm not saying weather or not he deserved to be thrown out of the store or weather he threw a tantrum I'm just saying that he is obviously in a frustrated state enough (after being thrown out a store you have to be) and probably wont read comments he considers "rude" but i want to let him understand simply because i think everyone deserves an educated second chance.

the target return policy states
"Store refunds will be issued in the same form of payment originally used for purchase:
Credit Card Purchases: refund will be credited to the original credit card.

Gift Recipients: refund will be issued in the form of a Target GiftCard (in-store returns) or eGiftCard (online returns).

They should have credited your debit card, then you would have to wait for your bank to process the credit, usually about a week LOL. you paid with a card, why in the world would they give you cash back?

Target fired for being black while others also broke policy.

I used to work at Target and the managers fired me. I was fired because I stole a few things which is against policy. Well others broke policy too, they came in late, they forgot to punch in for their break and were paid for it:. They left work early and they are still working at Target". All they got is a warning and some have even more than one warning, . The only reason they fired me is because I am black:. This is the first time I broke policy while others have several times come in late and left early!. They don't like me because I am black and they hate black people|. We both broke policy so why are we not treated equally:. The only thing I can think up is because I am black?. Otherwise these other people would have been fired as well.

@First Born Triplet - I got that, dear. Auntie ain't no fool. You're preaching to the choir. What this complaint is is ... sour grapes.

It's a case of "I've got an attitude. Life has always [expletive deleted] on me. I'm entitled to do whatever I want. I'm going to talk [expletive deleted] about my former employer. I'm never at fault for anything." In Auntie's assessment, she has questionable character to think stealing is a perfectly acceptable behavior for an employee.

@Gino Orlando - Dear, was that a troll? Or are you serious? If you were serious, then Auntie can only say one thing, "Stealing a 59 cent candy bar is way less reprehensible than blowing up a building. The sentence for the latter is greater because the offense is greater in magnitude. No one dies in 59 cent shoplifting." Dear, you might want to make sure you're not smoking any of that wacky tabacky before you post. Good luck. Have some tea.

The original poster, Auntie suspects, was fired for theft, not because she's black or any other color under the sun. But Auntie stands by her original comment. If the original poster thinks she has a discrimination case, take it up with whatever human rights tribunal is in her area or court. I think more public shaming and embarrassment would do her some good.

They didn't fire you for being black, they fired you for being a thief. It doesn't matter what your skin color is: a thief is a thief and you broke the law. Be thankful it is just your job you lost! Maybe this will teach you not to bite the hand that feeds you.

It has nothing to do with you being black. The rule you broke was not against the store policy but against the law. Coming in late is not good either, but at least the people coming in late did not break the law. Besides they could have good reasons for coming in late. Car would not start, traffic jam, ect. They had no control over that. You made a choice to steal.

Theft isn't just against policy, dear. It's a criminal offense. The manager could have had you hauled out of the store in handcuffs and charged.

I doubt highly your firing had anything to do with your race and everything to do with your attitude. I'm an old cracker, dear. I don't really give two hoots about whether someone is white or black. What I do care about is their character. Not everyone is a against you. Not everyone hates blacks. If you really do believe you have a discrimination case, take it to your State or Province's human rights tribunal.

Have a cup of tea, dear (pushes cup towards the poster). While you look down into it's steamy goodness, take a good look at your character. You did wrong. You are paying the consequences. And that happens in life, dear, whether you're white or black. Next tiem, keep your sticky fingers to themselves.

I find that the brown-noses go far (no pun intended) while the rest of us have to walk a straight line. If you're sure that you were discriminated against find a lawyer and file a suit. Just be sure, because I work at WM, and they go to great lengths to cover their ###. I'm guessing that Target will go to every employee in the store for a statement against you should you decide to file a lawsuit. Best wishes to you!

Target merona sunglasses sticky label won't come off

Merona Sunglasses-- Label is so sticky it leaves a residue that won't come off. Please help find a way to remove the residue. I have tried soap and water, ammonia glass cleaner, orange kitchen cleaner. 30 minutes of scrubbing with a scotchbrite pad, and acetone nail polish remover. Going to try paint thinner next, but worried I will damage the glasses.

Target expect to be humiliated if you ask for price match

Several weeks ago I inquired if Target matched competitors' prices. I was pleased when they said they did, as long as the competitors flyer was current and available.It was a very different experience this evening. The cashier wasn't sure how to process and called a more senior person "Marta." Her first reaction was "you need a Walgreens card to get that price." Obviously, this should have been my first clue that she didn't want to match Walgreens price, and would make it as difficult as possible. When I informed her that one actually did not need a Walgreens card, she asked me to continue to wait, and upon her return, said I would need to go to customer service (the complete opposite end of the store).

At this point, a line had grown at the register, and I determined I had wasted enough time. I asked for and spoke briefly to a female manager, who wanted "to explain" the process to me. I told her not to bother, and left my other groceries as well. I am about as interested in Target's "process" as i am in a sack of potatoes.And I believe Marta took great pleasure in watching me leave the store without anything--maybe she owns the place, or has far too much influence on the management.

A bad experience all told. I stopped by Walmart for the coffee on the way home. they matched the price, no problem, no hassle.

I know that target will match prices, but it can't be for a store that you have to have a membership or loyalty card to get that price for. All about the fine print.

Target bad service / verizon

On dec 30th I ordered a Motorola droid razr, for $149.00 and two year contract. I received the phone on jan 3rd, and could not port my number over cause the sim card that was activated and sent to me was defective, so Verizon asked if I could go to a local store and get a new one, the next day (jan 11th) I went to a local verizon store and the rep manning the desk stated to me that they would have to charge me $10 for a new sim card because I bought the phone else where. So now jan12th I called target mobile and complained about the issues I was having and I decided to return the phone within the 14 day grace period and not deal with the hassle anymore. I asked the rep to notify Verizon that I am returning the phone that was never active. He stated to me that they will as soon as they get the phone back. I call Verizon after I hung up with target mobile and Verizon stated to me that they can end anything until they hear from target mobile, I hung up with Verizon and call target mobile and they assured me that they will return any charges to me once they receive the phone back. Jan20th I received a email from target mobile stating that the full amount was returned to my credit card and have a nice life. Not so fast not I need to deal with Verizon because I just got a bill for $205.97 in the mail, Verizon said to me that the phone number that not mine is your responsibility and I explained the situation and they told me that target did contact them and they terminated the contract, so I owe Verizon $350 for ending the contract early and $205.97 = $555.97 Verizon rep ask how would you like to pay?, I escalated to a supervisor and they did agree to waive the $350 and a portion of the Verizon bill to owing only $102.99... So in summary I received a phone that was active on 30th of dec, the phone arrived to my home jan3rd I could not activate the phone due to a bad sim card, returned the phone and I still owe for a bill from Verizon that I never used. This bill should be target bill not mine, I never got the chance to port my number over. This is not right that Verizon got free money from me. Please look elsewhere for a phone it's not worth the headache and the loss of money.

I purchased a phone through Target and received it in a timey manner etc. The problem was they signed name up for unlimited testing which was not specified anywhere on the paperwork I signed. I contacted Target and finally spoke with Paula Claros a manager who said that the unlimited texting plan was part of the agreement with this phone despite it not being in writing. They were not willing to change the plan. She had no interest in resolving the problem and insisted Target was doing nothing wrong.
It was only with Verizon's help that they (Verizon) re-issued me a new phone at no charge and I returned the phones (I bought 3) to Target.
Never buy a phone form Target as they are out to screw you over.

'Hold hell' is an understatement! HORRIBLE customer service and very rude! I still have not received my phones.. hoping for the best.. but will never ever purchase from them again and will advise others to look elsewhere as it has been a nightmare dealing with them! Please save yourself the headache, its not worth the money u save.. trust me!

Terrible service . Ordered a phone and three times they failed to ship Went to ON HOLD HELL when calling their customer service. They outright lied to me and said it was being shipped and then never sent it. Horrible customer service no help at all and rude. Kept apologizing as if this would make any difference.
