Target scam

Target gave $10 gift cards when you spent over $100 on Black Friday. My total was $129 and I returned 1 item for a store credit only to discover they kept $1.08 of the $12.99.

Today they said their ad had a disclaimer that they would do this. To me this is fraud. I was still over the $100. Think of it, if they do this to a million customers nationwide it is big money.

I won't shop at Target again. I spent $700 dollars there last week and they are getting it all back!

I will also follow up with the Indiana Attorney General's office.

Target stores online Black Friday sale is a joke. They advertised a 40" Element t.v. for $119.00, thatcould be purchased only on line at 6p.m. Thanksgiving day. I had there web site ready to go and at 6 p.m. hit the online order button, only to find out it was out of stock. I checked that t.v. earlier in the day and it was in stock for $239.00. If they are planning a sale such as this you would think that it would be available and well stocked. Customer gave me the run around spewing what corporate told them to say trying to appease me for there false advertisement. I spoke to three different individuals and the third told me that they were receiving multiple complants concerning the same item. He also stated that he could not understand why target would place such an item on sale if they were unable to fulfill. customers orders. I have been a loyal customer of target for years but after this experience "ll be cutting my red card in half and take my business to a reputable retailer that still believes in satisfying there customers and not pulling a bait and switch scam.

Apparently Target has a return policy that has loops and holes that are known only to their own employees. You as the customer, find these "unknown" rules only when you attempt to return an item or items to their stores..

Yes, one should always ask about a stores's return policies. Target has their return policy clearly posted at their CS desk. However, what it doesn't say is that their are quite a few loopholes that they will use to stop you from getting your money back or a refund of any sort. Somehow, Target will attempt to put a wall between their customer and themselves. Again, another corporate giant that forgot it was the customer that has made them who they are today.

When you return something at a Target store, and you are denied, you have the right to ask the manager to review their video recording of that day/hour/register of when you purchased the item if they question if the item is theirs or if it belongs to you at all.

Also, report this to your state's weights and measures.

Target discard fraud... ha!

I was a hard working, loyal, honest cashier at Target for over 3 years. I mostly worked while going to college and remained still working there since getting laid off of my full time job. They gave me 1-2 days a week to work. I always came in with a smile and was always fast, fun and friendly to the guests. The majority of my coworkers and so called management was just another thing. The GSTL's and upper management treat the cashiers and anyone working on the sales floor with no respect and basically speaking down to them like some kind of special needs kid. I just grinned and bared it the best i could.

My mother has allowed me to live rent free at one of her vacant homes until i can get my feet on the ground. I have allowed her to use my discount card over the past few years. She uses it responsiblily and definitely is a very good customer of Target. She just happened to go on this cashier's line that is trying to climb the ladder of upper management. Immediately after my mother went on her line the lady ran to management to rat me out.

I got called into the office soon after and was fired on Black freaking Friday. They told me i was never to work forTarget stores ever again and i said that's fine i think i had more then enough fun here over the past three years.

Like that and no warning...

A woman who worked at Steak N Shake was recently hired at the same store and is now training to be an LOD. (upper management!) This woman has no experience! How does she do it? By knowing someone in corporate. ### ON YOU RETAIL!

To be honest your discount does say only your spouse and dependents of 16 years old and older are allowed to use your discount. It is not Target's or the cashiers fault you allowed your mother to use it.

Target employee abuse

I have worked at a Target for 4 years and over that time all I see is abusive behaviors out of the LOD's...That stand for Lead On Duty. They are allowed to accuse anyone that doesn't suck up to them of not doing their work or worse. They have been known to set up people to get rid of them also. This is sanctioned by the main company. That is why they go through so many employees every year. Between the abuse and lack of training given new people and the general disrespect given everyone...They are lucky anyone will work for them.

PLEASE do not work for this company...Run the other way when you see these jack booted droids in khalki and red coming to woo you with lies about how great it is to work for them.

DO NOT SHOP THEIR EITHER. They get inferior merchandise in that breaks or wears out before you know it. And they over charge on most items, even though they employ slave labor in 3rd world countries to make their trash.

I have applied in two different states at two different seasonal times right around October which is when Target hires for Christmas season. I have received a second “decline to offer a position at this time”. Without so much as an explanation. So vague and uninformed. What are you looking for? I’m a 55+ retiree, with 30+ years of work experience. I am totally curious why I’m not hireable at Target.

Been here 2.5 months and that's all the time I need here I had about enough. Yeah I hate to leave my job but the managers at my store don't contribute and do their part they don't do [censor] while everyone else works hard and slaves. They throw you on any schedule and don't want to work with you. I have a second job to attend and i'm a full time student as well but they don't care about that they said forget school you won't get a job in that field anyways they said I can make more being a manager at target and I looked at the lady like she had 5 heads. It's ridiculous in this store the same people always do self-checkout and thats boring as hell like wtf I asked several times to switch me to backroom because that's what I originally applied for and I asked for morning shifts in my initial interview because my second job and school runs from afternoon to late evenings and I need to be outta target by 3 the latest. But i'm outta there tomorrow I know it's a short notice but at this point idgaf. This store has completely drained me and i'm sorry to screw everyone over before the holidays but if they cant accommodate me then oh well. Everytime I ask to switch postions I get the damn run around (Lies & excuses) on why I can't switch.

target has been one of the worse experience i have ever gone trough. when i got hired they told me i was going to be a full timer. well since the holiday season came in they cut of my hours to half. i told my manager i couldn't work that schedule and all they said that they didn't care because i wasn't hired as a full time. I helped them so much in so many ways . From compliance, coming to work when someone couldn't make it, by working in my lunch time. in so many ways. please go somewhere else to work target does not reverse your time and hard work. while i was working for them they set up a lot of people to fired .. i don't understand their system, they hired people to fired people. they don't understand that people has lives and bills to pay. instead of giving you chances for growth as soon as they know they place you in the black list to get rid off you.. target really can messed up your life nan emotional way..

My daughter worked only 2 months...she and 4 others were terminated for discounts abused Plus arrested and charged with embezzlement. They're claiming my daughter gave over $2000 in discounts, she doesn't deny giving discounts to friends and relatives but nowhere near $2000. They didn't provide any transactions for her to see only read to her three transactions which she claims yes I remembered those 3. They were surprised she was honest about them 3 but didn't give $2000 or more in discounts. Maybe a total of $500, she was told to write a brief description of why she, was being fired. She wrote apparently for giving discounts or coupons...the others were stealing money from the register and not scanning items which is on camera. I will be hiring an attorney to dropped the charges of felony to infraction and pay target only the amount my daughter gave in discounts / coupons. I understand giving discounts and coupons is unacceptable but they need to change their policy and only allow managers to override the transactions when a discount or coupon will be use not allow the cashier to give without authorization. I've read a lot of negative stuff about target. Unbelievable 😐

I was helping a disabled woman shop, and the head LOD, Cassie, went up and said that the woman had a wheelchair and that that was all the help she needed. Also, that since the wheelchair was motorized, that she was probably faking it. When Cassie left, the disabled women told me that she had been paralyzed for over 30 years. Another instance I had with her was (move in day for my freshman year of college, making it so that I knew no one) when they had EVERY ONE OF US SINGLE FLOOR EMPLOYEES go around and ask every customer if they needed assistance. I was helping out the registers and Cassie butted through my line and said and I quote "WHY AREN'T YOU OUT ON THE FLOOR HELPING PEOPLE?" To which an elderly lady said, "because she's helping us." The elderly woman then asked me if she always talks to us like that. She does and worse. She would call me out specifically when she knew I was helping someone. When I was finished with my line, about 5 minutes later, she was standing there making sure I asked people, NOTE THAT EVERY OTHER EMPLOYEE WAS STILL DOING THIS. She left to the toy section while I asked everyone I passed on my way there. Meanwhile I was cursed out by every single guest because they had all been asked 7 times in the last 10 minutes. When I informed the team in our mini meeting back in toys, I was told that I was "making s**t up" and that if I said anything to anybody for the rest of the day that I would be fired. I went into work the next day and was pulled into a room by a man I didn't know and was told that I was fired. I asked why and he "didn't know" (THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW IN MY STATE, THEY HAVE TO TELL YOU WHY). And then wouldn't let me leave the room when I refused to sign a paper saying that I forfeit my final check (an $800 check, mind you).

Yes totally in agreement, Target has shrouded segregation currently, at all stores, , certain ethnic people are chosen to be team leads, working hours are distributed on a racial basis, selected employees are not working on weekends, scheduels are are done on an ethnic friendly basis..First greeting when one starts working is we dont need group oriented people, but when bullying employees it's the team comes first.

I worked at the target food Ave and im an employee at another place and it was great to an extent. I didn't mind the rude guests or impatient colleagues that were waiting on their food, but the one thing that got to me the most was when I was a customer and was treated poorly in my own home store. Since I am couponer I loved the great deals target offers, LP automatically assumed I was buying all my merchandise with employee discount and reselling them behind target's back. I work 2 jobs, I barely get enough time to even eat or sleep and they have the guts to assume that I'm reselling all the things I buy. They violated my rights as an employee and a customer. LP noticed I was buying tons of baby gifts and told HR and the HR confronted me about the employee discount rules then added "it's a dead giveaway that you don't have a child. " she automatically assumed I didn't have a child and was buying and reselling. For a new HR you've got a lot of guts to say that to me when you came to the store after me.

Target dissatisfaction

I ordered a 36 cup cake cake and the label read 24, I called the store to let them know that I received 24 instead of 36. The first person I spoke to was very helpful, upon arrival 2 employees were discussing an order and ignored our presence. After listening to their conversation and seeing their facialexpression I was getting upset. The first employee had cancelled the first order and gave us a new one, the employee at the counter was stating that she was not going to give it us and if we wanted another cake we had to pay for it (in a rude way)! When she was finally done talking about our order, she asked us "How can I help you in a very undecent voice", we then gave her our receipt and she realized she was talking about us! She mentioned to us that the cake did in fact have 36 cup cakes, but the labels that rpint only say 24 because your system doesn't print one that says 36...I don't think employees should be discussing customers orders while they're on the clock and over the counter, this is very unprofessional and makes us not want to come back and just go to Walmart. Thank you for listening to my dissatisfaction!

Target not honoring what theyy tell you

I called there this morning and spoke with someone about price-matching. The woman on the phone told me they DID price match and told me what I thought were all the "rules" that they followed to do so. Only after getting to the store and wasting more than an hour of my time did they tell me that they DO NOT price match for certain types of Ads and so they would not honor my price match. Everyone wanted to know who I spoke to that morning, as if me having her name would have changed anything! I didn't know I should have asked for a DNA sample of the person on the phone- to prove I called! I finally told the manager I would never spend another penny in a Target, I left my buggy full of stuff, got the GM's name (the manager refused to give me the district manager's name) and took my daughter and left. It's a shame that this chain has gone down hill so badly. I WILL BE CALLING TH GM ON MONDAY!

Had the same problem today. Got as far as Store Manager and received 10 different reasons why they wouldn't match the price. The ad I brought in was for a 3-day sale for Sunday - Tuesday. It was Monday I brought it in so it was still valid. My favorite reason for not matching: "Target does not price match ads that are timed events". Isn't any promotion a timed event? DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS!

Target ridiculous termination

Target is such a joke. I was employed there as a cashier for nearly two years. I was terminated due to guest complaints, many of them of a completely ridiculous nature. I have a new job now and I'm not really sure what the purpose of this letter is, I guess I just want everyone to know what a lousy place Target is to work for and to hopefully warn others.

I was a good cashier. Not the best in the place, but I knew how to do my job and it did it well. I checked out customers fast and efficently. In fact, I was one of the fastest cashiers in the store. Due to my social anxiety disorder, I did not converse with the guests unless they began to converse with me first. I kept my lines to a greeting, their total, and a thanks, have a good day. I always made sure to hand guests their change first, and THEN their bills after they tuck their change away (I know how important this is for many people). I was never rude to a customer and was always very patient, helpful, and understanding with people. You would think this would be perfectly sufficent.

Nope.

I got written up for complaints such as "the guest felt rushed", "I didn't make eye contact", "I ripped the card from someone's hand" (never happened), and even one from a customer who was upset that I couldn't take her because I was closed. Basically I had my light turned off was turning away to go punch out for the day. Some lady comes up and I told her "Oh, I'm closed" in a polite tone. Well, she was so offended by that that she complained to my supervisor that I was "rude and extremely innapropriate". What. The. Hell. I fail to see how this was in ANY way, shape, or form innapropriate OR rude. What is wrong with these people? We only had a couple of lanes open, so she gets pissed when I can't help her and complains about me. Just ridiculous.

The bosses were always nagging me to converse with the custoners and to have a big goofy grin on my face. Look, just because I'm not all smily does not mean I am in any way rude. I'm simply concentrating on doing my job. And most of the time I was very nervous around people due to my social anxiety. It was very difficult for me to chat with customers. It was also hard for me to look them in the eye, but most of the time I DID.

So anyway, in the end they fired me. It's just completely outrageous. I, a good, dependable worker who never called in except for when I had a 102 degree fever, who many times came in when they were desperate for help because they didn't schedule enough cashiers, was fired. However, my co-worker was not fired until several months after me. This co-worker in question is someone who was basically off his rocker. He threatened to chop a co-workers head off, told customers to "go away" and "go read the sign yourself", threw merchandise at my head, VERBALLY abused me on numerous occasions, and screamed at the supervisor, was fired LONG AFTER ME. Apparently it was more urgent that I be terminated. Does anyone else see the logic in this?

Anyone?

The bottom line is, Target is a joke. My new employer recognizes what an excellent (in their words) job that I do. You guys, on the other hand, are PATHETIC. You wouldn't know a good worker if you fell over one. You lost a good, reliable cashier, and you forfeited any money that I would ever spend in your store in the future. So long, suckers!

P.S.: you might want to look into how HOT your store is when older cashiers are nearly passing out and we're not allowed to have water at our lanes. Just a thought.

My husband and his co worker were terminated from a DC after 9 years of service and dedication. They were the absolutle best at their jobs and had evaluations to prove that- meeting and exceeding on everything. Within 2 months time, Target forced out or fired 11 mechanics at this DC. My husband and his co worker thought they were safe until MLK day... 3 weeks prior to this date, one guy painted the rims of a forklift gold because they were out of white. *Important to know many are not painted factory colors at this point and no one had issue with them until this incident. Another placed a sticker on a forklift that a UA incorrectly typed. The label went on there but the UA made a typo and the mechanic didn't notice (1 number transposed). Why were they let go? VANDALISM! What was vandalized? NOTHING! Target is a do as I say not as I do place. GL's & SGL's will violate osha rules, break policy, and lie on employees Just like they are doing now to my husband and his co worker. When everyone says that is bs, they came up with this false allegation with NO proof these guys filled a glove with spray foam and made it a middle finger. Neither one did it and it was actually a UA on night shift. However, they needed more fuel to their BS reasons and there you go. Now they are lying on purpose with no evidence about these guys. They are currently 13 mechanics understaffed at this DC and bringing in guys from Tyler to cover because they can't get skilled workers now. Other mechanics are looking for jobs because the place is crazy. Target in my opinon is the biggest load of crap ever. I appreciated it and supported it yet they deserve nothing from me. My 10k per year spending habit has stopped but that is not nearly enough to hurt them. My family and friends have all vowed to stop too, but, we'll see. Target will never go under. I now have learned to rebrave walmart and I appreciate them at this point in a whole different light even excuse their rudeness of staff. Target is just unreasonable in my opinion. Even the HR & many employees and GL"s said these guys should not have been terminated. Let us know is a joke they don't care, No one cares until it's their butts on the line. I know this specific DC also terminated people within 3 months of them filing they would be retiring in a year so they couldn't retire with the company. Gave them more bs excuses on termination. My opinon is Target sucks and I will not use them at all if I can help it for the rest of my life. I will continue to tell everyone of how they treated 2 families with a spouse and children with disabilities and how they lie and manipulate after they fire for a bs reason. btw, even unemployment sent us a letter saying they would pay benefits and "Target had no just reason for terminating" my husband.

I was a victim of a stupid termination from Target as wel. I was there for about a year and a half. Started out as a cashier and moved to cart attendant. I was as reliable is it comes to being a good employee. I would take any shift, come in when called. I'd help out wherever was needed without question. Even as a cart attendant I would hop on as a cashier and help out if the lines were to backed up. (I was the only cart attendant that could cashier even though it was a "requierment" for all employees to know how btw) As a cashier, I was extremely fast. maintained a 95%+ on the whole scoring system for cashiers speed. normally always landed first in it. Only complaint my leads had was I didnt get enough red cards. But besides that, everything was exceptional. I went to cart attendant about 6 months into my employment. I excelled at it. Quickly brought carts up into the store and everything. I personally loved cart attendant over cashier. Except for 1 of my co-workers being the laziest man in the world. He would take frequent breaks and extended lunches eveyday. Even through complaints from the rest of the cart attendants, nothing was done to him. 1 day during holiday season in December, I had the afternoon shift, the lazy man had the morning. Like always, the afternoon guy is supposed to cover for the morning guy so they can eat lunch. I was fine with that, I even anticipated the extended lunch he would take. But he went over and I was left alone in the parking lot for 2hours with a ton of people waiting for carts. (the store was nowhere near stocked on carts for it. there was only like 120 carts for a store that should have about 300+) So I did what I could. Passed on my first break since my co-worker hadn't returned. was about 3 and a half hours in. I was exhausted trailing back in forth by myself for that long with out any help, I decide to take a short break and catch my breath and quench my thirst with some water. A customer comes up to me and says theres no carts up stairs. I say I'll get right on it. So after about a 1 minute break I get back up. about 20 minutes later my supervisor comes down and pulls me to her office. conveniently that lazy [censor] appears and goes off to work. Since I took an un approved break, they decide to interrogate me as to why, and even after my reasoning of being alone for like 3 hours was done, they decide to fire me on the spot. WTF!
My biggest regret is commiting myself to that stupid place. After all the hard work and compliments from my leads and even guests to get fired for an unfair reason just cause the supervisor wants to is just [censor]ed.
Funny thing after, a co-worker calls me about 3 months later and turns out they finally fire the lazy guy. So stupid... If he woulda been fired the first million times we reported him, I would have never had to take that breather.

Target love stories should bring a smile to few. But Target does not allow working employees to date. security and courtesy clerks got together at my store. But in one instance, a young mother and a security gurad actually fell in love but were FORCED to end it or be faced with termination. Sexual jokes were a constant between employees. People are real no matter what the job is. In targets case, no matter how lame the talk, the more perverse they see it.
I can't prove it but I do believe there is an attempt made to investigate employees long after they start working for target. can you say gestopo?

A few months before I was fired. One of the many pregnant girls was going to have a shower held for them. It shouldn't have been considered harmful. However, The employees in question were all warned with the loss of their jobs. They suggested it was an attempt at unionizing. TARGET IS EXTREMELY FEARFUL OF THEIR EMPLOYEES UNIONIZING. TEAM LEADS AND MANAGERS WILL FIRE BASED ON A RUMOR OF A UNION ATTEMPTING TO BEGIN AT TARGET. Target now is attempting to control comment made on youtube by showing off their own video to surpress the attempt of unions being made there. Target is its own cult.

I also worked for target. Target has a hidden rule of 2. First, When target fires they fire for life. SECOND, no other target will ever rehirer you. ITS BEST TO QUIT!

I WAS AN EXTREMELY GOOD EMPLOYEE. I was there every day an 1hour early. I build 165 bikes for christmas and several before. MY ZONE WAS FINISHED AT 10:00 most nights. I even was done at 10 on black friday which amazed my general manager.

Why was I fired? you ask. I prank phone called friend at work. She called o9 the store security and blamed me for harassment. This person was my BEST FRIEND at work. I missed by accident 2 days of work.

A week before I was fired I expressed an interest with HR VERONICA about health insurance. The problems mounted just after that. [censor] TARGET I hope someone finds out there linked with scandle and they close.

Working in any large retail store is the pitts and you usually get treated with very little if any respect or appreciation. I worked for Service Merchandise for many years. Many years ago, back in the 80's I was actually written up for smiling at a customer. That's right...the customer complained and said I was "smirking" at her. I actually got written up for it. The best, though, was getting written up for a VCR that got stolen on my day off. Back in the early 80's VCR's were quite expensive and we actually used to have to bolt them down to the shelf so they wouldn't get stolen. Well, on my day off one of the VCR's I had put on display and bolted down was stolen. The department manager claimed that I hadn't bolted it down tight enough. Well, think about that one. If it was unbolted and taken out, how could anyone determine if it was in fact bolted down tight enough to begin with, not to mention that a simple small wrench could have loosened the nut under the shelf with no problem to anyone. And of course nothing was mentioned that whoever was on duty that day wasn't paying attention to the fact that someone was unbolting and carrying off a fairly large and heavy VCR (as they were in those days). Of course, in order for the manager to save her face, I was an easy target and was written up. That was the last straw. Shortly after that I left and went to work someplace else. I came back a few years later after hearing that dept manager had left and worked there for many more years. At Service Merchandise I quickly learned that the only way to get recognized for anything good was to get in with the "in clique" . Only favorites of the store manager got any recognition. After I left there for good, I had many other jobs all of which I was duly recognized for my hard work and devotion.

Target bad service, even by so called supervisor named krystal

went to Target to look for a book, unable to find it i asked for help to a girl who not only was rude but
very unhelpful. I asked another employee that i needed to talk with a manager because that person was rude and had a really bad attitude... i ask myself why am i gonna spend money at a store with this kind of service?
i came to know that the person i ask for help was in fact one of their supervisors, her name was Krystal and this was very disapointing as i always thought this store had a friendly service. I wish people like that were not working at my favorite store, this is the store on sepulveda and burbank blvd, so if you are reading this watch for poor guest service and rude attitude, hope this blog is read by someone in charge of that store so something can be done.

Seems to be a Target thing...I have had several situations at Targets before, they hire anyone willing to work for minimum wage, so hey "you get what you pay for" so to speak... i actually stopped shopping there, cuz Frankly i dont care for ANY of the employees and I can get the same thing at walmart with a smile and a little old man at the door thanking me and asking me to come back :) the funniest thing was one target employee told me i could only have one transaction a day because i had 2 coupons...i was like "Really?" "I can only shop at your store once per day huh?" and she actually said yes...they are idiots!

Sadly i can say the same for customers, ive worked for target for a month. just because you guys are the customer doesnt mean you can push us around. we treat all out guest equally we asked for the customer to treat us the same. if target had a sign that says we can refuse service. all the customer id had a rough time with i'd say f*** YOU and show them the Exit. Today i had a customer that asked me where are water container i said that will be in sporting good, shall i show you where that is?. and she response "do you think im old to not know how to read". and at that point i was confused. So no amy i disagree on what you said. Customer share the same ###. What make you better then the employee NOTHING. if you want help ask nicely, if your on your time of the month dont take it out on employee cause expect will most likely give it back at u 10fold. i work on the salesfloor while restocking women pads, a guest complain that she felt sexually offended that i was working in that aisle. ### im just doing what im told. but hey the guest never get lecture and the employee do. so Amy you are no better then the employee. we are all human and we all want to be treated equally. Even on the phone our superior tell us if they are angry just ignore it. we prefer to show no action toward guest that are acting immaturely.

Target trutech tv/dvd coimbo is junk

Buyer beware:: do not buy a trutech tv and never buy anything from target. I bought a trutecch tv/dvd combo at a california target around september of 2007 and today, october 18, 2009, it just went to tv heaven. No warning. Nothing I did. Just went to turn it on and it would not work. I think a tv that cost $279 should lastr longer than two years.

I had problems with the remote control for this tv when I first bought it but I just resolved it by using two different controls to operate it. It was a double effort but not worth the hassle of what you have to go through when trying to get decent customer service at target—any target!

The thing is that in those two years, I never used the tv very often. I bought it mostly for the use of the dvd which was built into the tv. Since payper view was a lot easier than renting dvds, I would say that over two years, the tv averaged no more than 100 hours of use.

When I called the store, the clerk in electronics basically brushed me off and talked over me, with statements such as "we don't carry it no more, " and "there ain't nothing I can do if you didn't buy the three year warranty. " I tried to ignore his bad grammar and asked him if he thought the reason it was discontinued was because it was such a bad product. I told him there were numerous complaints on the internet about the brand. He just said "oh I don't know nothing about that. " when I asked him for the name of target's president, he was at a loss.

I have received deplorable customer service at target over the past two years. In fact, with the exception of a few small items, the tv was the last major purchase I ever made there. I will not be going back unless target is smart enough to do the right thing and refund my money or give me a store credit. I am writing to the president and ceo. If you have had a similar experience, I suggest you do the same. Here is his name and address:

Target bad management practices

Target has no official policy in place when it comes to the basics of good human decency and decorum between employees -- or if so, local management does not deem it important enough to be "trained " on -- of course, we are being trained on those things that effect the bottom line.

Surprisingly (or not so) and recently, a visit by upper management is a more cooled down and sophisticated approach to the treatment: a fishing expedition. It is surprising that no one knows what goes on with all the cameras that surely have some auditory functioning to them, that the company could put itself at such great liability. So, how does a company respond to their own misbehaviour? Their own fishing expedition to perhaps extort or blackmail in perhaps a legal way the silencing of another. Or a sneering smile with a clever one-liner, and a symbolic pat on the head as if you are a two-year old and not an adult like everyone else -- that everyone should and can be treated with basic dignity and respect.

First off, someone at work has been cyberstalking me because of the insinuations that have been made by regular folks working there. So, apparently, my online information about Target has become the local gossip fodder. Why do I know this? Because immature teenagers cannot keep their mouths shut, or they "try" to be quiet about it but are still within hearing distance. Oh well, that is how it is in California; it is cool to ridicule! (You hear lame one-liners like this all the time, except more sexually crude) (Surely a company and local management realize after all this time after the federal laws have been passed now that these types of comments can get a company in a lot of trouble).

Of course, when you have juvenile and high-school put-down humor and one-up-man-ship and slurs and innuendo to deal with at every turn of the corner, with the flashing eyes and the mischievous smiles, the rejoicing in the so-called cleverly-crafted put-down that requires the coworker to stalk and be overly-interested in another's life or lifestyle, with statements that reveal nothing about the quality or the ability of the gutter-speaker to know how to speak correctly and intelligently -- that is the common lot of being a worker at "Tarbutt" (My coworker last time called me ChickenButt and then claimed that he was "just making up a joke, " even though I had been on the website that derides Target as TarButt the day before).

They are not the ones to be idolized nor adored; it is only the patience and meekness and strength of character of those that choose to put up with their juvenile antics that has allowed them after all this time to behave so badly at work. We are not just speaking about the actual teenagers there, but also the management (For example, the first day in stock the local female manager called all of the team "babies"v-- twice for emphasis -- because no one was willing to proactively start the difficult thing.

Since, apparently, these are good management and team-building practices, I am sure that local management, then, has no objections about me getting the word out to our loyal and dear customers? Maybe a tape-recording of what is mentioned here and there would make the company more beloved and and its benefactors more enamored with the corporate logo? Imagine all the art galleries receiving funds knowing how the backbone of the company truly operates!

Well, I would have never done online profiling of the company if they had kept their mouths shut. Maybe you have to shame these types of people to end what most people would consider abusive conduct.

One of the local managers is worse; he thinks that huffing and puffing and bellowing sharpens our focus on how to do our job better. Because, it gives him credibility and is a mark of true leadership and motivation.

Seriously, has ANYONE there read "How To Win Friends And Influence People?" Of course, that is an exaggeration, and there are many very good people that do work there, and for the most part, even when these people misbehave, they still do a lot of good things in the process and have behaved well at other times, too.

But, no more bad behaviour at my expense without letting other people know about it.

So should managers be allowed to be close to team members? At store 1198 shelby brintnall is way too close to team member jared combs n soend way too much time together. They eat together work side by side together and sit in her office together if it was two team members it will be corrected but since its a manager nothing happens. Smh bad target practice.

Target - target receipt not enough for return

I purchased 3 books from Target. I decided I did not want to keep the books and took them back to the store with the receipt. Unfortunately, the receipt's fading ink made it difficult for the clerk to scan the receipt as a couple of the transaction numbers and a couple of bars were missing; however the address of the store, date of purchase, expiration date...

Target simply bad

I have had a Target Visa card for over ten years. I have never been late with any payments. Recently, Target closed this account.

Subsequently, I received a letter from Target National Bank and Target Financial Services stating that the closure of this account was done pursuant to my request. Only problem with this letter was that I never requested closure of my Target Visa account. When I attempted to complaint to a senior executive with Target, my phone call was transferred to a guest relations supervisor. This supersior told me that since my account has not been used in a while, it was closed due to inactivity. In response to my request to re-open the closed account, she stated that I should re-apply for a new card. I did not wish to apply for a new card as this would result in a hard credit inquiry which would adversely affect my credit scores. Hence, I requested that they review my credit file under the old account without affecting my scores. I was told that she was unable to honor my request because she could not directly reach the Target Visa department. Evidently, Target's guest relations members are incapable of reaching other departments. I am also amazed by the executive team of Target to allow this type indefference toward its customer base.

Target there security system sucks!

I usually go to target very often cause they're close by, affordable, and I had never had a bad experience, but when I went yesterday my experience was horrible! I pull into a parking spot and I had to reposition a couple times, but then some lady with her daughters stop directly behind me and the 1st daughter gave me the finger and then they drove around again to get the spot next to me. I had gotten out and I got my daughter out who's 2 1/2 and I stood there and waited, because I wanted to know what the problem was. well she pull up and when she saw me standing there she stopped and waited a min or two, I guess to see if i would leave, but my daughter wondered into the spot towards the end and she was there for a couple seconds. I told her to come here and went in to grab her and as i was doing that I kept my eye on the car and she Gunned it at my baby! Luckily I was able to grab and yank her out of the was and she stopped and was smiling the whole times. She was literally staring at her when she tried to hit her with a smile on her face! I confronted her and she said I don't know what your talking about, but it's funny you let her play in the middle of the road! it was a parking spot! Then her 2nd daughter was getting smart with me and talk about how I should watch her better and I told her to stay out of it and the mother said nice come back... After that I was furious and I went to the customer service desk and demanded that they call the cops. They took both story's and then when the officer went to review the security tape the security guard told her what was on it, because he had already seen it, and everything that happened wasn't on there. The reason why.. THE CAMERA WAS BLOCKED BY A TREE! Nice security system! You could tell just by looking at the guards face that he felt really bad, but that doesn't help me. I want something done about those trees, because if it happened once it will happen again and just imagine what other types of crimes could be committed in those spots. IF you don't have proof it's your word verses there's. Where is the justice in that and what if I couldn't get to her and the lady did hurt her?

People, NEVER park behind any tree, it's NOT safe!

I agree with the afore-mentioned. It is irresponsible to confront an already hostile entity. What would have happened had you just walked away? Your report would have ended with some women making an obscene gesture at you, as opposed to your child's life being threatened. In retrospect, you must realize your irresponsibility in the situation. Not only did you prolong yourself to exposure to a hostile person, you also exposed your child as well. You will learn well to let go of your pride, and think ahead, rationally.

It's not fair to blame Target for this at all. It's their responsibility to make the parking lot safe, within reasonable limits. It's not their responsibility to spend tens of thousands of dollars on cameras to cover every possible blind spot in the parking lot. Having managed corporate security for 30 years, I can tell you that even if the tree wasn't there, by Murphy's law a security guard might have panned the camera in the opposite direction right at that moment to look at something else.

The real culprit is this woman and her dangerous driving. With a young daughter in your care, you made the decision to stay and confront someone in a parking lot who was clearly hostile to you. You should have gone straight into the store and notified security keeping that girl out of harm's way.

Target bait & switch

Target weekly ad shows Wesern Digital external hard drive (500 GB) on sale for $49.99. Sale price to begin on Sunday September 6. On Sunday September 6 at store opening time (8 am) we arrived at store only to find that they were all sold out and no rainchecks. Sales staff very disinterested and unwilling help. Finally we pursuaded a salesperson to call and check availability at other stores. He found 2 at Springfield store but would not hold them. By the time we got to Springfield they were gone, but did we want the $99.00 one?

This has happened so many times at Target.

Target rip off company

I received a gift of an inexpensive Braun D9525 Electric Toothbrush. I had little use for the item and took it back to the store, unused/opened and they agreed to take it back, but, they gave me a chit for $44 which they said I must use only in the same department and it must be all used then for the exact amount. This of course was total nonsense and I asked to see ar manager, he arrived and gave me the same idiotic story. While I had no problem with a credit I had absolutely no use for one where I had to spent it all in the same department. I refused their credit and I left the toothbrush with them as I have no use for it. I attempted to phone their supposed 'Guest Relations' number and that is only a recording, no person there to complain to. Target stores is a total waste of time and anyone who considers shopping there for any gifts for friends/relatives should be aware that if they wish to return it they will get lowest sales price it ever sold at, a chit they have to use all at once & in the same department. This rip off company now has their toothbrush back and I have nothing, but they are the looser in the end as I went to the Wal Mart store and spent $160 for items that would have been purchased at Target.

Target has a major attitude problem. As far as they are concerned the customer should never return anything. Just buy something and go away and not bother them anymore.

Target embezzlement and mental harassment

I have had the most harrowing experience at the hands of Target's credit card department. In 2004 I moved to Minneapolis and shopped for ~$75/- at a Target store in Eden Praire, MN where the store check out clerk offered my a Target Credit card application. I filled this out and got the 75$ bill on to the account with assurance from the store clerk that I would get the physical possession of the card soon. I never got the card and hence never had an account number or card number to pay off the bill. A few months later I got a call from a collections agency stating that I had a balance due (nicely enhanced over the 75$ tab with fines and what not) on a Target credit card (which I never ever received). So I paid the agency in full and asked them to close the account with Target.
A year later in 2005 I got another call for another collections agency stating that I had $300/- balance pending on the Target card. I was shocked but had to pay and this time made it clear that I'd fight if the account was not closed.
So finally in 2005 after paying several times over the shopped account for $75 I had shopped I got rid of Target and thier credit card which I never recieved. Or so I thought...
I applied for a loan a couple of days back and was shocked to learn that it was denied on the basis of my credit report. I called them up and they confirmed that I had a pretty clean record except for the (you guessed it) the Target Credit Card... They said that they knew the account was closed and I owed zero balance but I had to get it off the credit score to qualify.
So I call up Target and after being pushed around 4-5 customer support agents and 2 supervisors I was finally pushed to someone higher up.. I assume she was higher up in position cause she really knew how to talk down on customers so much for the customer service aspect of a retail business. Anyways I go about telling her the whole story (I've told it 4 times before to their reps) and she starts fighting that its my fault and not Target's that I opened the card and didn't pay off the 75 dollars. She says Target tried to find me for 7 months to send the bill and the card but couldn't and even though I never had an account number or physical card it is my fault for not getting the card. I wonder how Target's collection agencies (based in California) could find me but not Target (based in Minneapolis). By law the company can stop reporting on my credit report if it acknowledges that it is the company's fault. But she flatly said that there is no way Target will stop reporting on my credit score because I am at fault for a card I never possessed. So now I have to suffer negative monthly reporting on my credit report for the next 5 years (the account was closed in 2005 and Target will report negatively for 7-10 years after an account closes) and pay higher interest rates on loans for a 75$ purchase on a card I never got from a company that couldnt find me or send me a bill.
I am seriously contemplating legal action, I shall get back I shall post this on every website and forum blog possible and Target shall never see a penny from my earnings again... I'll make sure Target loses at least 10 times as much in value by convincing friends and family and who ever cares to listen about this, this I promise...

Target non-hireable

I worked at Target for four years. Starting out as a cart-attendant, self-training as a cashier and guest services to help out fellow employees during rush hours, moving to the sales floor, then back to logistics and finally proudly becoming part of the security team. It was at this last position where I encountered some difficulties.
One day me and the other AP agent (the ones in the fancy suites that greet you) where left alone as the undercover agent had to get some lunch. We were told just to stand at the front as usual but my fellow employee decided to hide in the office and watch the cameras. Being still in training and her being my "superior" (she had the position a total of 4months more than me) I followed. Whilst viewing the cameras we came across two young girls shoplifting in the jewelry dept. Nothing big: sunglasses, a scarf and that cheap ugly jewelry that Target doesn't bother to lock up.
Now instead of staying put and getting some good video evidence she decides to stroll out there and stop it. The policy on minors is that you don't do anything to them with no parents around. And the rule on shoplifters is that you can't do anything unless they LEAVE THE STORE. Both these rules meant squat apparently to her. She strolled up, me in tow, and accused them of stealing. I was shocked. I thought that she would stroll around and let them see us, they get scared, dump the goods and leave. Nope. Wait it gets worse! She then demands that they dump their purses into an empty cart (4th amendment anyone?). Next, and here's the part that BLEW me away, she instructs them to dial their parents and tells the parents that their kids have been caught stealing. JESUS CHRIST did she even read the training material?!
After all this I inform the under-cover guy of what happened and the next day inform our supervisor. This is all very serious since it's harassment of minors and is a fire-able offense. Imagine my surprise when...NOTHING AT ALL HAPPENS. They basically don't give a damn about rules and ### apparently. Meanwhile I get chewed out for 15 minutes by the manager for not giving a timely report on graffiti ( I cleaned it). So obviously I decide that I'm being harassed (God forbid a security guy trying to uphold rules) and I ask for a transfer the new store after my training. Her answer (yes the AP manager and the AP agent were both women, solidarity sister) was a resounding no, as I was unfit to transfer (remember the graffiti?).
So what do I do? The next day I quit.
Dumbest thing ever, as it made me un-hireable again at any target apparently. I still haven't got a job and that was 2 years ago. So remember kids: don't let little things like morals and rules get in your way as a security at target. And if anybody wants to hire a hard-working go-getter with good morals email me:

Target harrasment charges

I was hired at Target in Mn in April 2008, I was hired on the flow team and worked for them for over a year and decide to move down south with my boyfriend. I had the store put in a transfer to the closest store which was Slidell. The store I wanted to relocate to was in D'Iberville, Ms which is only 10 miles from where I live in Gulfport.
This is a new store which is not open yet.

When I started this store everyone, I thought was so friendly and nice at first and then after 6 weeks everything changed. The TL, Eric was fired because he was to easy going on the Flow team and was not getting his crew out on time. They are more concerned about the EST time to get the department time done and not on the accuracy of the department. The ETL, Brent who is over the Softline Department is more concerned how fast you can get repacks and pallets done. He barks orders and yells at everyone over the loud speaker and directly at them when they are not working fast enough. He treats the associates like a dog. This job is suppose to be a Fun, Fast and Friendly place to work but the only thing is that Fast yes, but Fun and Friendly, I don't think so. He has people in tears and on the defensive all the time. There is no one you can go to and talk to about your concerns because the all stick together and back stab you. When I asked to be transferred to the store closest to me, I was turned down for God knows what reason. I was driving 49 miles one way because I thought I was going to be able to work closer to home. When I was working in MN, that store never treated me disrespectfully. I could at least go to them and talk my concerns. I am a hard worker and always on time. I give them over 100% of what they want. But this place as lost all my respect and trust. I feel like I was screwed over and I am not going to stand for it. I will bring Target down for what they have done to me. There are other woman who have come to me with concerns on how they are being treated. I have also contacted the Employees hot line and complained but I am not sure how the out come is going to happen. I have walked off the job because it doesn't pay for me to travel that far.

Target customer service sucks!!

Lousy customer service throughout entire store. Everyone wants a paycheck but noone wants to assist the people they are gettting paidther is by. I approached 5 yes, 5 target employees seeking assistance to buy my son a pirate of the caribbean online game card (9.95). They are usually by the checkout counters. I was directed everywhere in the store to no avail. I am shocked that these people are useless. They are getting paid to stand around and chit chat! I am a customer service manager and I go out of my way to help people! Without our customers—eventually-no store! I would terminate all those people and start looking for young adults (Not joe blow who wants to talk with his buddies) who care about people and their needs! I have spent soo much money here but I can honestly attest—i will never set foot in another one of theses stores. Target does not deserve that much of my time to be wasted!Who the hell is hiring these ###s! If these were my kids, i'd slap everyone of them for not only being lazy, but for the lack of caring altogether. What comes around goes around and I hope one day—they all get it in return. I am sure if they were the ones looking for something to purchase, they would not appreciate the run around, which is what I got! Shame on all of the employess, including the management, who obviously (As he was useless as well) have taught the employess—screw the customer—i wish I could get paid to do nothing but push buttons and stand around! My question is, why the hell could not one of those people actually move their ### and take me to the item! If they didn;t know, find someone who does! You are a horrible company!I hope we see target go under soon!None of their employess deserve a paycheck—a paycheck is something you work for.. You are all a bunch of idiots!

Judging by your poor attitude when voicing your complaint, I am pretty sure that you have a poor attitude in general. Why would anyone want to help someone like you? Your maturity level is clearly around a second graders, and your grand generalization of all Target employees being useless makes me think that you are an all around jerk.Target is here to stay, like it or not. Take your business elsewhere, trust me, Target will survive.

Target is ripping me off!

I accepted a payment plan with Target National Bank in April 2009. I was to pay them $47.00/month to pay my balance down to zero. Well, it is the end of the three months, I logged on to make sure everything was good and the account was closed, but to my surprise, my balance was $171.75! I called to see what was going on, they told me, "well of course you were accruing late charges each month"! I was so mad, I said what is the point of offering a payment plan to settle an account if you charge late fees too! They said I should have made extra payments on top of my agreement! They were not helpful at all. I have 39.00 dollar a month late fees and now owe them almost 400.00 dollars instead of the original 190. I have filed a complaint with Better Business and hope they dont scam anyone else!

Target costomer service

There is this employee at Target in San Dimas CA who is such a jerk to me everytime I come in, not to mention a jerk to my mother. He is one of those controlling, abusive types who once dated my friend. The store manager there loves him deeply, though, so regardless to the fact that he has called me & my mother a ### to our faces while shopping there, completely ignoring him, he still got promoted. It's ridiculous! He would be angry at my friend & take it out on us when he saw us. My mom works with him, so I feel I can't do anything, given the manager likes him so much. Almost everytime I walk in, though, this guy walks towards me as if to challenge me & occasionally bruches his arm against me. I can't believe it! He is husky & over 6 ft tall. I'm a quiet 5 ft 4 in woman and my mother is in her 50's yet gets treated this way by this man. It's so disappointing that the manager has done nothing. Supposedly, nothing can be proven. If he took the time to question fellow employees, though, he would hear numerous complaints. It's terrible that just because he if friendly with the manager he gets to push his way around! He's a huge sexual harasser too! I just wish they cared enough about there female employees at this store to do something about it. I smell a law suit as soon as he crosses the path of a woman who has nothing to risk & stands up for herself even after this stores management does nothing.
