I've gotten a couple dozen phone calls from this company, trying to sell me an extended warranty on a 10 year old vehicle. I've used their "press 2 to be removed" system, and they call back. I've talked to their agent and asked to be removed from their calling system, and was told I would be...and they called back. I've talked to their agents several more times, asked to be removed each time, been told I would be each time, yet still they keep calling back. Most recent was 10 minutes ago.

I have no relationship with this company, but I'm about to send them a registered letter telling them that if they call me again I will bill them for my time and the use of my phone equipment for their marketing calls, and that their agreement to my terms will be signaled by their next call to my phone number. Failure to pay will result in a suit for collection in Maryland. I'd prefer that they just stop calling me...

I get phone calls from these people all the time on my work phone. I have no idea how they got my work phone. I've been able to keep them on phone long enough before I hung up on them to gather some information. They try to sell you an extended warranty however they have zero idea what kind of car I drive, they said I either have a Honda, Kia, BMW, and Volvo. I've never owned any of these cars. I told them I drive a 2005 Toyota (I don't) which I told them I bought for $2000. They quoted me an extended auto warranty for this $2000 car at $4785 plus tax. I laughed at them, told them to stop calling me, and then hung up. An hour later, I get another phone call from these people asking me about purchasing extended auto warranty for my Honda.

I get 2-3 calls a day from these people for at least the last 4 months for a car we have not owned for 3 years. I have tried everything to get them to stop. They just hang up. I am on the do not call registry, does not seem to matter. How do you file a class action suit for harassment? Putting them out of business seems the only way to make the calls stop.

I thought these people had been put out of business, but an elderly relative of mine just had them try to withdraw $3, 000 from her checking account via electronic check! The E-check bounced, so they were unable to get the funds. Their sister companies have defrauded her for thousands of dollars via her credit card account. We have no idea how they got her credit card or checking account information. We closed her long-time checking account and opened another at a different bank, but they have somehow gotten the account information for the new bank. The attempt to invoice $3, 0000 was made on the new bank! This is a nightmare and a horrible case of elder fraud!

I am getting 3-4 a day all from various numbers but all the same thing! When I asked to what company they were I was told American auto warranty. I am on the do not call list with my state and have filed several complaints but they still
Keep calling' I'm sick of them! I block every single number they call from using my IPhone call block feature. Not that it does me any good because they just choose another number. Will be dancing for joy when they do finally bust them!

Another person has picked up where this guy left off and is still running the scam. I get calls 2 or 3 times a month from them. I am investigating this hard and will not stop until I find the person responsible. They actually picked the wrong person to call. The most recent number that called me was [protected]

ST. CHARLES COUNTY • Darain Atkinson, the co-founder and former president of US Fidelis, was sentenced to eight years in prison Monday on state charges.

The action by Circuit Judge Jon Cunningham followed Atkinson's sentencing last week to eight years on federal charges. He also was ordered to pay $4.5 million in back taxes in that case.

Both the federal and state sentences will run concurrently. In the state case, Atkinson had previously pleaded guilty to stealing, insurance fraud and deceptive business practices.

Cunningham told Atkinson he had spent Sunday evening reading victim's impact statements and was surprised by how deeply Atkinson's crimes had affected them.

“Some of these people were retired or disabled, ” he said. “They talked about their economic situations and how the one thing they needed was a car that would run.”

When these people didn't get the insurance they needed, it was devastating for them, Cunningham said.

“The word that came up time after time was that they felt humiliated by it, ” he said. “Your bad actions, your greed caused all of this difficulty.”

The Wentzville-based US Fidelis, formerly known as National Auto Warranty Services, collapsed in 2009 amid fraud accusations. Atkinson and his company co-founder and brother, Cory Atkinson, were accused of bleeding the firm of more than $100 million.

In July, a federal judge approved a bankruptcy settlement in which customers and creditors will split $26.5 million.

Officials said Fidelis used deceptive marketing to mislead customers into thinking they were talking to auto dealers or manufacturers and were getting a more comprehensive warranty than they were.

Darain Atkinson, 47, of St. Louis, was represented by attorney Gilbert C. Sison. Atkinson didn't make a statement in court, but after the hearing, he said he was very sorry and that he took responsibility for U.S. Fidelis.

“Talent will get you to the top, but character will keep you there, ” he said.

Cory Atkinson, 42, of Chesterfield, pleaded guilty in June to federal and state charges. He was sentenced Sept. 18 to 40 months in federal prison for conspiracy and tax fraud, and ordered to pay $4.49 million in back taxes. Atkinson was sentenced Friday to four years in prison on state fraud and stealing charges.

Attorney General Chris Koster, whose office prosecuted the Atkinson brothers, said in 2009, his office received more complaints about service contract sellers than about any other industry, but since then there has been a marked decrease.

In addition to the criminal charges against the Atkinsons, the Attorney General’s Office filed civil lawsuits against auto service contract telemarketers and formed a task force to recommend new requirements in the industry. That task force recommended new legislation, which passed in 2011, and strengthened consumer protections in the industry.

The Attorney General’s Office has entered into nine settlements with service contract marketers and continues to litigate with five others.

I have been getting calls from this company : National Autocare for the last 2 years, couple of times every week. I have tried all means to get rid of these calls. But nothings has helped so far. And whenever I ask the telecaller to stop calling me again and again he starts using abusive language for me and my country. One would not expect this king of thing in a country like United States. Not sure what needs to be done to get rid of these calls. This is really haunting me for last couple of months.

These people just called me at my work number! They flat out lied and said they were not trying to sell anything. I told them to not call me at my work ever again. I gave them my cell number so I can at least ignore the calls that way. I can play their game just as well as they can. Bring it on!

All I can say is WOW. Pretty much what everyone is saying is the absolute truth. I know this, because I am an EX employee. Where do I begin? Ok as far as the people they hire, yes drug addicts, yes ex cons, yes drug dealers, but not everyone. Theres actually a lot of nice people that work there. Unfortunately some people make mistakes in life, some didn't go to college, some just need a job, and when no one will hire you, and all of a sudden someone finally does, you don't look a gift horse in the mouth. At first glance, day 1 of working there, or "training, " it seems totally legit. Pretty upbeat (when people are selling) there's a good vibe in there, almost exciting, seems like an ok place to work. Ever see that movie Boiler Room? ITS EXACTLY LIKE THAT! Most people make minimum wage, so when they tell you how commission works, bonuses, basically unlimited hours (no OT either btw) and when you see how much people are making, because weekly commission is posted for all to see, YOU TRY HARD AND DO WHAT THEY TAUGHT YOU! But after a while you realize whats going on. Now I dont know either way if the warranty works, or doesn't. From what I've heard it does. BUT, NO ONE that works there is allowed to buy it. The policy itself is American Auto Shield. Basically National auto division just sells it. Now, as an ex con, that used to have a drug problem, all I wanted to do was work, make some $ and get my ### together. Again, when you can't get a job pumping gas because the gas station is corporate and won't hire you, but this place will, and the other people with ### pasts are making $1, 000 a week in COMMISSION, you shut your mouth and work. Just basically do what they teach you. And what the teach you is simple. Read this script. Don't pause and give you (the customer) a chance to speak until you ask them a question, then keep going. We can basically say whatever we want to keep you on the phone as long as i dont say "I'm calling from your dealership", or that "I'm calling from honda, ford, bmw" etc. All we want to know is the mileage on the car, and to verify that the make and model we have listed is correct. Then we tell you what you "qualify" for, and the price. If we make it that far without you telling us to go to hell, we make up some BS as to why you have to hold on a second, which most of the time is " its your last chance, let me see what i can do so you dont lose the option of coverage, " and put one of the "closers" on the phone. Which i was eventually promoted to actually. And btw, if you sound old, or like a wife we can scare, its like blood in the water to a shark. After a while when "that" person answers the phone, you just know, and immediately go in for the kill, because that person will just do what you tell them. Closers job is to basically tell you that you should of done it already? Make you seem dumb for not responding to the notices that we sent. But thats because we never sent anything anyway. Then convince you to give out credit card info, while scaring the hell out of you, but also assuring you that u have 30days to look it over, talk to whoever you need to, its your last chance remember? Should of been done already. This call is just a courtesy before we close out your vehicles vin number making the vehicle ineligible for coverage. You want more time? Sure, need a deposit to sign you up first, were giving you the 30days as a courtesy. Then once we get the card info, you get put on hold, then the closer high fives the manager, and we laugh an talk ### about how you gave up the money. And your card gets processed for the deposit amount before you even hear my voice again. And when you do hear it, its to tell you that you came up as a "preferred customer" and if you want to pay the whole thing off at once, you're entitled to a $200 discount, and again, if you decide to cancel you get it all back, but if you keep it, which I'm sure you will, because its something the cars had on it already, you're saving $200. Smart huh? Or shady as hell, whatever you want to call it. I could go on forever about that place, some names mentioned here that customers have spoken to i know personally. One of which uses a fake name because it sounds more professional than his real name. As far as people "monitoring the calls." They listen to the calls where sales are made, just to assure that you didn't say "hi this is joe blow from ford motor company, " and thats about it. The sales tactics are horrible, we're basically taught to not give a ### about you, because we want your money, because in turn that makes us money, and more importantly won't get us paycut, or forced to work weekends (remember no OT) or ultimately let go because of poor production. (remember the whole, nowhere else will hire you thing?) And unfortunately when put in that position, you go with the flow. And when you have 26yr old kids making 70k a year going to work in basketball shorts, smoking weed on lunch break, and driving new cars, the reality that you're really ###ing over a lot of these people financially goes out the window. The way i convinced myself it was ok is because "if you're dumb enough to give a stranger your CC info over the phone, well than you're dumb enough to possibly get screwed if it works or not." For some reason i was wondering the internet, and stumbled across this. Just figured id put in my 2 cents as a person who actually lived it. Im not proud of it, but it happened and i figured id tell everyone what the reality of that place is.

When purchasing my car from jim reed hyndai of nashville tn, i was also recommended to include extened warranty from automotive warranty services, inc. I purchased the warranty and it was included in my car payments. Now i'm in need of repairs and can not get in contact with anyone about my concerns. I really need to talk to someone about my coverage and how to drop this from my payments.

I was given misleading and false information regarding the warranty contract after i i paid a $350.00 installment payment. They just simply lied about what would be covered in the contract. I told them i wanted a paper bill not to have monthly payments taken from account. Well theyve taken a payment from account. I want this company to be exposed. There are millions of innocent people being scammed by companies such as National Auto Division.

I kept getting early morning calls from a place In Guadalupe, Ca...since I didn't recognize the number I wouldn't answer it. I finally decided to answer it today in order to confirm that it was from company trying to sell me something I know I didn't want or need to purchase and to put me on their Do not call list. The initial Rep was fairly courteous but was talking way too much and repeating that my current car warranty was gonna run out soon so I need to get their extended coverage now. The price was $3, 070 for 6 year, 100, 000 mile w/$100 deductible. I told him No Way was I giving my credit info over the phone to a company I'd never heard of before. Then he said he would check and see if he could extend the offer for a little longer. Then he put his so-called manager on the phone and the entire tone of the conversation changed. The guy was really pushy and even rude. When I stated asking several questions like their website and call back number the guy told me to Stop interrupting him so he could finish talking...then i said oh
really? And he said "Yeah...really!" So, I then said ...OK and promptly hung up and blocked their number on my phone. Although these type of places usually call from more than one number...I will continue to block their rude butts forever! Don't deal with these jerks, ...Always remember ...if it looks like, walks like and sounds like a duck...IT'S DUCK! SO "DUCK" out of doing business with these scammers!

This Company "National Auto Division" called me last Friday. Telling me yes, my auto warranty was about to expire on a car i co-signed for. He told me his name was Donte. Do not hang up the phone. We need $2900.00 for car warranty which is about to expire. At first I gave him a hard time, still explaining. I don't think my sister needs this, I co-signed for her. Well, if you co signed its your car, your are responsible for paying, he proceeded then after i told him I can't afford that, lowered the price down to $500.00. I became very emotional after he started to really harrass me. I told him i needed to talk to my sister before making this transaction. NO you can't talk to her, you need to make this decision now. I want to speak to someone else, said i would speak to my husband, i can't give you this information over the phone i told him. He gave me a few more lines. someone was at my door, told him i needed to go answer it. Donte told me "Don't you go to the door". I set the phone down, came back, he ripped into my some more, telling me. He would lower the price down to $200.00 now, give me your credit card information. I told him i was going to hang up, then he told me, he would call back. It's getting worse. really under pressure with this dude, Told me that he could make me pay the whole $2900.00 if i didn't give him the number. That's when i caved in. Gave the information over the phone, he put me on hold, someone else c ame on the line then, (George). He saId that he had been monitoring my call. I told him "if you heard everything, then you know that I was put under pressure, by this Donte dude. Why did you give him yo9ur credit card number, is what George said. Told him again, if yo9u were monitoring my call you heard why. George then said that "he would take care of everything, this transaction would be reversed, and null and void. After that call, my husband came home and i told him, what happened. At least he didn't yell. What i jerk I was, I called my bank to go over the transaction with me, they gave me necessary information. I cancelled my credit card. These people at this company are so unscrupulous. They are dirty dogs who prey on people. They are rats!. This compnay should be shut down. And now after i read some of these comments, if that's all they can get to work for them are drug addicts, or ex-cons. They hire low lifes...OF all the people they can get!. Afterwards I called my sister, which she lit into me about the whole thing, we both went on the computer together and found this place. She also contacted the company. We will be taking this to the BBB and the attorney general. Companies like this should not exist!

They're the worst. They just called and harassed me with a "your warranty is about to expire, pay us $3000 for a 5y warranty, and no you can't call me back after you discuss this with your husband, you need to do this now or our deal expires." Luckily I found this site and learned it was a scam. Thanks guys.

I just received a call from them. I asked what company this was and was told National Auto. The caller said he was calling from the state of California. I told them not to call me regarding an 8 year old car and that he was violating the national DO NOT CALL register. I informed him that he's soliciting a service and he should advise his supervisor that if I'm contacted again, I will report National Auto to the Attorney General's Office of Ohio. He asked me, " why I would do that? "
I hung up on him.

Bigel288, the company may offer warranty but it's the way they go about it taking to forcing kids to get their parent credit card out of their wallet and convincing the elderly that their kids warranty is running out and they could help them by paying for it...how is that not unethical? guess you will feel differently when it comes close to home and someone close to you get ripped off...

Yes, Ramelle, a land of unicorns maybe, however, usually once you have paid for something, you are entitled to receive what you paid for, even in a land of unicorn and cotton candy clouds. Apparently, you get your kick out of randomly insulting people. Anonymity, the ultimate weapon of cowards. I thought that I could share my views in a respectful environment in regards to what i still believe to be a valid complaint. However, there are other means to my disposal to convey my concerns. Lucky for me, none of them involve your interaction or the interaction of what appears by the tone, to be the manifestation of your multiple personalities...Good luck with that.

p.s.thank you for the link, which I consulted, and it does not apply to my complaint... since the issue happened...yes ! Ramelle ! "Post sale" ( you should read the small print too)

Actually, since they had explicitly agreed to sell specific items for a specific amount and that I had agreed to purchase the items and agreed to pay the specific amount, and that we had agreed on the method of payment and the delivery, they were contractually bound and should have either correct the situation by finding a replacement item (which after verification was proven to be available) or offer a remedial solution (by reducing the delivery cost, which is extremely high) . So Brenda, in my reality, you are wrong, they did not correct the situation. It would have been a different story had they warned me prior to putting the credit card through. In fact, once the transaction is started, the items should be locked automatically to prevent removal and allow the agreed transaction to go through. When I called them, they actually acknowledge that this was not right. In any case, my opinion about their business practice remains, and I will exercise my option not to shop there.

I live in Canada. I do shop at Talbots once in a while. Recently I tried to place an order on line. I put few items in the virtual shopping bag and took advantage of their offer to store it there for a month. When I returned, few days later one of the item was gone and was no longer available (clearance). They explained that if someone wanted the item and it was the last one they could not hold it. Made sense to me. What did not is after I paid for 5 items and after they charged me $25.00 flat delivery fee, one of the item was gone...they amended the total of the sale...but left me without the item, which, as you guessed by now, was no longer available. I called them, but did not receive any offer to correct the situation. They are very good at saying how good they are and how sorry they feel but provide not measure of resolution. In which universe is it acceptable to enter a sale contract, agree on the amount, put the sale through and then change the nature of the contract. Although the price was good, I would advice people to stay away from their online service. They are unethical, which raised serious doubt about their integrity and the protection of your personal information. Caveat emptor!

very bad this company is, the sale man told me that you have 30 days to cancel the contract, but when I actually called to cancel, the customer service woman was horrible, she said I am taking advantage of the policy(in fact I have not signed the contract yet, only received the booklet), and even suggest my name is funny(I am from Asian); and then she told me to I can not cancel the policy via the phone, I have to write to the company in CO...

I recieved a phone call today from national auto division. He was going all over the plan and how great it was. While talking to him something wasn't quite right. He said he needed credit card number to get this special offering. I refused to give my credit card number over the phone and I hung up. I am very glad I did. I have been reading many complaints so I am glad I listened to my gut.

Please don't be fooled by this company... The only thing they're concerned with is getting your credit card. I know 2 people who work there and have explained to me that the place is filled with drug addicts, previous criminals and drug dealers. The Howell Police Dept, NJ is continuously in and out of there looking for the criminal activity. MANAGEMENT is well aware of this activity too... I was told that an individual, who is a heroin addict, was throwing up on the sales floor and the main Manager advised him to go to the bathroom and fix himself up (Do more Dop) and come back and "MAKE CALLS. " If you are contacted by them and you want them to STOP calling, the ONLY WAY TO DO SO IS THIS: "PUT ME ON YOU'RE DO NOT CALL LIST." And I emphasize the word "LIST." If you simply say something like never call me again, they will disposition the call as "NOT INTERESTED." And you WILL get a call back very shortly sometimes minutes later because they can manually put a time for a "Call Back, " in there system and they'll do it out of Spite. The Managers will continuously listen to phone calls being made and if the employee did not keep the customer on the line until a Hang UP, they will receive a PAY CUT... They claim they received the VIN from the dealership or the NATIONAL DATABASE because the customer never accepted an extended warranty. (COMPLETE LIE, OUT OF A MILLION) I was told that in thier main division, the manager told a fairly new employee, "You have to be Grimy to get the Credit Card." They will use any tactic possible to make you believe that "THIS IS YOUR FINAL OPTION FOR EXTENDED SERVICE CONTRACT." Even if your vehicle is a 1993, they have been saying that statement since then. Just Google "NATIONAL AUTO DIVISION, " and look at all of the [redacted]s... They also Prey upon Florida residents being that many older people with money retire there and they know these people have money and are easier to CON. I could go on and on but just simply DO NOT TAKE THEIR CRAP. BTW, don't always take it out on the people who make the calls because every person is monitored and if they do not say what management wants them to say, they will immediately be fired, and that is a FACT. A person was just recently fired also for asking to go to the hospital being ill and they even said they would come right back with DOCUMENTATION. Management simply fired him for asking this. I feel very bad for the people who are just trying to make a living there and are not drug addicts or sellers and know that what they are doing is unethical...

Purchased a vehicle from Guaranty Chevrolet, Junction City, OR, 18 months ago. Bought extended warranty ($135 per mo). A couple days ago, I was driving my vehicle and all of a sudden it started clanging and banging. Had it towed to body shop for repairs. Surprise, surprise - water pump broke, timing belt came off timing belt tensioner, parts caused vales to jump into pistons. National is claiming that this is NOT covered in my policy. Uh, EXCUSE ME?!? What the hell am I paying for? However, the woman at guaranty that signed us up for this BS warranty said that the water pump and timing belt were covered! So, here I sit without a car and making payments of $300 on remaining balance! DO NOT PURCHASE EXTENDED WARRANTY, they never pay for any damages.
Oh, timing belt kit was not due to be replace for another 12, 000 miles. I have just under 3, 000 miles that I put on the vehicle since I bought it!

If they are calling everyday just put Mr Number app on your cell phone. You can set the setting to block all spam or you can enter in numbers to block any 800 or any numbers from certain area codes. I havent had any calls from any solicitors, bill collectors, etc. ever since I put this app on my phone.

I received a call from them tonight. I would never give a credit card number based only on a telephone call - shame on anyone who would do something so stupid. They attempted to validate their legitimacy by saying they had my auto's vin (a Lexus which will probably last for another 200K miles) and my address. This of course is readily available to anyone. When I told them I needed some information in writing by regular mail before I commit any funds, the second person I talked to (a supervisor supposedly), hung up on me. Clearly a scam and judging from their website a non-existent company. Doubt they'll call me again.

I just got off the phone with Paul Blain. We stayed on the phone for about an hour and a half of so. It became amusing for me when I told Paul that I was not in a financial position to accept the terms of the contract and he hit the "Restart Button" on the side of his head and started to give me the entire sales pitch again. I mean if I don't have the money, I don't have the money! We went in this cycle for about 7 or 8 turns. I finally told him that I could pawn my X-Box for the money (like that's really gonna happen) and he said that it was a good idea and he would call me back on Monday after I get off work. I think I'm going to tell him that the pawn shop got robbed while I was there and the guys took my wallet, all the cash in the register, and my X-Box. I'm goint to play with these people for as long as I can until they just give up.

This company sold me my warrant as late as least year. Now since then i have had my engine changed, and my braking system now for two hundred bucks for two different repairs.. Thats saving money, i dont know why you people are so angry with your coverage. Maybe you should ask a little more about something before you buy it. I love my bumber to bumber.

They have been calling me for weeks. Finally I answered and they asked me about a car I didn't own. When I told them I didn't own that vehicle they man told me "your a real nasty old [censor], You need to shut the F up and listen for once." I hung up. He never told me what he was selling and through internet research I discovered they were selling me a extended warranty. Such a horrible thing to say to a 76 year old woman!

I just got 3 calls within an hour from this company, the first time they hung up when I answered after 2 rings and this last time I asked to be taken off of the call list and the man said no and hung up the phone!

I have been an employee with the Real National Auto Division for a year now everyone has their point in a way. First of all people use their credit cards everyday over the phone but if your smart you will check your transactions everyday you are protected by the card issuer for any "false" transactions. When you recieve a call be honest and most importantly LISTEN! ask any questions and they will be answered. The company has been in operation for a long time and simply brokers coverage for great insurance companies (i.e. Gold Key, American Auto Shield.) look them up on the BBB.org A+ ratings for all. Its smartest if you do review the coverage available to you and if you feel you were mislead cancel you get 100% refund no problem. anymore questions feel free to contact me by email. kgfield6@aol.com
