This girl was recommended by M Bar K (her parents) as specializing in problem horses. They and she really talked a good game and we were completely taken in. We sent our five year old mare who was totally unbroken and our thirteen year old gelding to her for three months. Six thousand dollars and three months later the horses are back home now in very sorry condition. They never received the veterinary or farrier care that we paid an extra $500 for, the mare is so terrified and thin that it is pitiful to see. Her left eye is hugely swollen for s0me reason and she has some kind of fungus on her skin, she has definetly regressed significantly! Not being trained at her age put her in the difficult category for sure and we were prepared to leave her for 6 or more months. After two weeks we visited and were told they were able to lunge her in the arena, we were happy! At the two month mark when asked about her progress they said "we can lunge her in the arena". Also, still no vet or farrier care, "next week " they said, though it never happened. At that point when visiting and seeing their poor condition and the mares regression, we asked to have them returned at the end of the paid for three month mark. Tricia admitted that she quit training the horse at that point, (2month mark) even though we paid for three. She said our horse was untrainable, a wild mustang. What happened to ("we specialize in problem horses")? Lola is absolutely terrified of us now, she never was before. The gelding is still sweet as ever but looks so very thin with sores on his mouth, no training. Do not give these people your horse! We were conned! An expensive mistake for us and our poor horses.

That's just it. I do not assume. I am skeptical that someone would be so neglectful of their horses and turn a blind eye to what they are claiming. It doesnt make sense, does not ring true to me. To put it short, IF this was true, it falls on the owner that allowed it.

it sounds like your horses were mistreated and neglected. why did you leave them that long with these people? i wouldnt trust leaving mine with anyone until i was comfortable with them. when they showed the signs of getting thin and no farrier work (that i paid for) i guarantee i would have had their ear and my horses on the way home.
