Symbol mattress company warrants that this mattress shall be free of manufacturing defects. This is a fraudulent statement. When you attempt to get warranty, the company then claims the mattress shall be free of manufacturing defects, unless it is stained. In other words: it doesn't matter if the mattress has manufacturing defects, if it is stained. There are 2 seperate issues here: one is the warranty of the bed, irregardless of manufacturing defects, and the other, warranting against manufacturing defects. Any company that sells a defective product, that was sold with the assurrance that it had no defect, and refuses to make restitution, is guilty of theft. Secondly, the company is to state what is the required covering on the mattress. Our son sweat one night when his fever broke, causing a stain on the mattress. Symbol informed us: tough luck! You have no warranty, either on the bed or on the manufacturing defect. My 150 lb son has been sleeping on this mattress about a year. It looks like there has been a 500 lb person sleeping on it for a year. It has more than a 2 inch hollow in its center. This warranty is designed to mislead the unwary. Fool me once, shame on you. Anybody that has any questions, call me: [protected]. The above is based on information and belief.

I agree, we had a sdimilar experience. Symbol Mattress Company warranted that our son's mattress "shall be free of manufacturing defects." This is a fraudulent statement. In other words: it doesn't matter if the mattress has manufacturing defects, if it is stained. Symbol mattresses are junk, period!
My $500 dollar Simmons was better than the $1200 Symbol.

After 3 months on a Symbol mattress and I agree that they are junk. The salesman and owner of the company lied.
You would think an owner wouldn't lie about a mattress in a small town, but I guess people don't care if they get a bad reputation anymore.
They will just advertise and look for more gullible people.

I bought a Symbol Mattress from Ollie's (Bargain Outlet) Sept 2014. Around December of that year there was already a depression forming in the middle. I tried rotating it and another one started to form. Around early spring, I started to wake up with a stiff neck and leg cramps. I kept using the awful thing until Sept 2015 when I bought a new mattress from an actual mattress store (City Mattress). I'll be trying out this new Keesville mattress ($750 with box spring) for the next few months but just by looking at it I can already see it's much taller, has an actual pillow-top, and it's heavier. The mattress movers who took my old Symbol mattress away called it 'a toy' because of how thin and light it was. There's a reason it was $300 total for the mattress and box spring. It's bad quality and it won't last. It's worth it just spending that extra money for the long run. I didn't even bother with trying Symbol's warranty because of all the complaints the people here have had with them. I figure I'll just wash my hands with this mattress and never look back.

Their warranty appears great, 10 years replacement we were told if not satisfied but when you read the print under the tag at the end of the mattress it becomes clear. Depressions have to be 2" which is like a crater to sleep in. Ours appeared in 5 months after purchasing. Only 1 1/2" so too bad. Because it is a pillow top we can not flip, so now we have a mattress that is killing our backs. I wrote the president and the company but it has to be 2" or more. I would never recommend a Symbol Mattress to anyone.

We tried to become a retail outlet for symbol mattress. The first shipment never arrived on scheduled day. We called the Virginia office and received no help, all we were told was if we wanted to cancel order it was our choice. We cancelled relationship with company and the salesman never even returned our call concerning this matter. If this is how they treat a potential retail outlet I would hate to see how they treat their customers with a problem. However with what I am finding out about this company we are not the only dissatisfied ones.We are very happy that this relationship never started.

I purchased Symbol approximately 3 years ago from Mattress Firm. Had a 10 year guarantee. The guarantee was NOT worth the paper it was written on. The customer service just keeps giving us the run around. They keep asking for paperwork which I have given to them at least 5 times now. Now back to the mattress. Constant back pain when sleeping on this worthless mattress. Do NOT purchase. We are not overweight and we have a 3 inch crater in the mattress where we sleep. The middle has a hump where we do not use much. I think this is how the rest of the mattress is supposed to be. The symbol mattress is just on the other side of the town I live in and cannot get anyone to help me. Went back to Mattress Firm and their answer is they do not handle that mattress anymore but they will sell me a new one. The whole experience is just horrible Hear the same complaints about these companies from everyone I talk to.

I have a Windsor classic from symbol it's a latex bed there are no springs in this bed. I'm 63 years old I've probably slept on 20 different mattresses over the years this is by far the best most comfortable mattress I have ever had it's 3 years old now and it looks just like the day I bought it. so before you go by a mattress from from some of the big name companies I would definitely suggest that you look at symbol mattresses. I live in the Twin Cities 2

DO NOT BUY THIS MATTRESS
I bought a Carlton Aloe Mattress less than a month ago and it is sagging so bad that if I sit o the edge of the bed I almost fall off from the sagging. It is also sagging in the middle so deep it is causing me to have severe back and hip pain. I just called Symbol mattress and they were rude and would not even take the complaint and told me to go back to the place I bought it from so they can file a warranty dispute which can that time to get the final decision on the claim. I cannot understand how a company can lack any concern when so many complaints are being made about their mattress.

I am going to be looking into starting a class action suit against Symbol. I have owned a variety of mattresses in my 53 years, and none has been as poorly made as this Symbol. I bought the 'top of the line' pillow top and box spring, and within 6 months, despite turning it EVERY 2 weeks, it has collapsed on all four sides. The entire mattress is misshapen. My husband and I are not overly large people, and clearly are not jumping on the bed or doing anything to have caused this. I wish I could attach photos here to show you how truly collapsed and distorted this mattress is. Now I'm supposed to take it TO the manufacturer at my expense, haul another one back here (did I mention we are not young spry people?), and the replacement, I'm told, will have NO warranty. Well, I'm sorry, but here in Wisconsin, we have a warranty of merchantability, which means a product HAS to do what it is designed to do. This mattress was so poorly constructed it clearly is not even actually SAFE for someone to sleep on. I have had to have cortisone shots for my back because of this bed, which I will also be submitting with my lawsuit. Absolutely inexcusable shoddy workmanship, misleading warranty, and even worse customer service. No wonder the places that sell these are going out of business left and right.

The Gel 13" Response is one of just a few imports from Symbol. This is a premium upper end bed with premium, resilient foams, with a very specific and comfortable feel. Sorry Jeff, you lost me on this one. I have been the Symbol rep in TN for 9 years now, and that is a great bed. FURTHERMORE FOR ALL, it stinks to see anybody hurt. For me in TN I try to pick beds for retailers that I Know will hold up better, and Symbol has many.

HORRIBLE COMPANY! six months after buying the top of the line pillow top from them, the store we bought it from went out of business, and although we rotated it every two weeks, faithfully, it is still a mis-shapen, severely collapsed, mattress, and we are NOT fat! now i'm supposed to take photos, bring it to them, dispose of the old one on my own IF they decide to honor the warranty at all? i'm calling a lawyer and seeing if i can't start a class action suit against them.

I bought a 13" Gel "Response" mattress. I had to ask the store who made it. There was no name on it. They said Symbol. I should have figured that... no name on it. This mattress is worse than sleeping on the floor. I will be sleeping on the floor tonight so I don't wake up a crippled in pain from this mattress which wasn't cheap. I bought it from a Thomasville store that was being used by a company that is a liquidator - so Thomasville paperwork on the receipt but no Thomasville, a liquidator. Symbol is based in Richmond, VA but the mattress itself is made in China. Is the mattress being made to specification in China? who knows... If Symbol doesn't put their name on it... that says something and I should have realized that. All I know is the floor is more comfortable.

I am a mattress dealer who chooses to operate out of low cost warehouse space. It keeps the prices down. You don't have to buy from a big box to get good quality. You should ask questions. Where was it made? When? Is there a law tag at the head of the bed? Does the tag match the story. Is there a warranty card? is there a copy available. how long have you been in business. How will you help me if there is a problem? how is the particular model aim interested in constructed. You can get a foam encased verticoil mattress with a coil count in the 500 range ( for queen) for between 500 and 600 dollars that should last 10 years or so., you do have to break in a mattress. Rotating non flip mattresses once every two weeks is recommended for the first 90 days of use. If you and your significant other weigh more than the " average 160 lbs adult" you should by duo or pocket coil product. It will cost 700 To 1000 in my shop. Most national manufacturers have stopped or significantly reduced the number of models that are two sided. This is because partly to keep cost down but also the spring systems have improved and the mattresses today a vastly thicker than 20 years ago. Keep in mind that in the 70's the average Sealy, Serta or Simmons plush mattress retailed for $350 in a furniture store with high overhead. Reflect upon that the next time you see a $300 queen mattress.

My first Symbol mattress started sagging after 1 month of use. I flipped and rotated it as directed. I am 145# and sleep alone but was made to feel it was my fault. I returned it and was told that if I upgrade I wouldn't have any problems. I invested another $100. This one is sagging 2". I was told they only exchange once, regardless of the fact that I bought another mattress. He called the regional manager and they offered to sell me another upgrade for another $100. I cannot see the merit of investing more into this company that puts out inferior products and have been for a number of years judging by the dates of complaints that precede mine. I do not recommend this company to anyone.

I am so livid!

This is the most awful mattress I have EVER slept on. After only six months it is starting to sag. The company will not offer a refund, or discount. They also will not cover it under any warranty because the sag has to be two inches deep. Of course, by the time the mattress has that large of a dip in it, the warranty will be expired. To make things even worse, the customer service at symbol mattress is horrific. I was told that I would receive a phone call the day I contacted the company, but I was not contacted until FIVE days later. This company sells poor quality products, and offers even worse customer service. I feel absolutely robbed.

Purchased a Comfort Innovation Series Newton Full Sized Set for my daughter about 3 months ago from Klockers Mattress World in Sioux Falls, SD. After 2 months of sleeping on it the foundations support slats started to break. Contacted Klockers and they contacted the manufacturer who said they will not cover broken slats. My daughter is 13 and does NOT jump on the furniture. Klockers has replaced the foundation as a one time courtesy to a customer. Thank you Klockers! But I am worried that the foundation is going to break down within a few months again. If so I am going to be royally ticked and will lodge a complaint against Symbol Company with the BBB and the AG in our state. I wish I had seen these reviews prior to purchasing the set. What the hell good is a warrenty if they will not cover anything.

the top 5 mattress co. warranty covers 0ne and a half inches of depression as defective. it is a federal regulation that mattresses must be free of stains and is stated on the law label on all mattresses. It is not because the mattress co takes the mattress apart to see the defect so they can improve it. mattresses go bad because of inferior workmanship and products. mattresses are made on an assembly line and mistakes are made. sometimes the foam that was used was a bad batch. it can happen to all mattresses no matter what you pay. what you want is a store and salesperson you can count on to help you if it does happen. it should be easy and swift to get satisfaction. honestly, you can get a great deal on a mattress set from any of the top 5 mattress co. such as simmons, stearns and foster, serta, sealy and temperpedic. why but from the company rated 15th. must be a reason for that.

We bought our Comfortec Symbol Marseilles King about 12 years ago. It wasn't long before we saw that it would bunch up in the middle and show where we slept from our body impressions. I'am not complaining because I just turn it every few months because it is not the kind you can flip over. It is still very comfortable. Probally time for a new one. It took 3 months for delivery after we bought and paid for it.. We were told it was because of Hurricane Katrina, WE LIVE IN VIRGINIA... The place we bought from was in Virginia. Only 10 miles from our house. We were just a few of the lucky ones .Many others never received their mattress, although they paid in advance. Needless to say, the young family selling the mattresses skipped town and were caught later and jailed for a long time... I know this story has nothing to do with anything, but I wanted to share...Thank you Brend

I DID NOT PURCHASE MY QUEEN SIZE PILLOWTOP MATTRESS & BOX SPRIN SET FROM A STORAGE UNIT OPERATION! I DID purchase them from a reputable dealer, Home Décor Liquidators, in Cheektowaga, New York! I purchased it in April, 2013 and here it is only July, 2013, and it is a MESS! I have Body impressions on BOTH sides of it, spouse and myself, it sounds like the box springs are "splitting" and the mattress is "tearing" every time we get in and out of bed! We have terrible times trying to sleep at night AND I purchased this because I had an upcoming back surgery and our king size set was 20+ years old and worn out! I am SO DISCUSTED with this set and with this company that I have reported it to the BBB, Consumer Reports, the Attorney General's Office, AND the Federal Trade Commission! I WILL get my $500+ back AND get a set that is HIGHLY, POSITIVELY RECOMMENDED! See you in court, if need be!

My name is Tim Parker and I have been the sales rep for Symbol Mattress in TN for 8 years. First, everyone in my family sleeps on a Symbol, which would account for 6 different styles, and all have performed quite well and continue to do so, including premium and economy beds. Now, for 8 years in TN, I have found Symbol to be very supportive in helping customers. I'd like to offer some counsel. You can do a lot to maintain the life of your mattress. 1) Sleep all over the mattress, side, between the middle and the side, and in the middle. Rotate the mattress from head to foot if it is single sided. If it is a king, do quarter turns, which helps even further to break in the middle. Even though it will not fit perfectly on the base, do it for about a week. Rotate your mattress at least once a month. 2) Do not sit on the mattress for long periods of time, use a chair. A mattress is meant to spread weight evenly. Do not dive onto the mattress. Do not let children or grandchildren jump or walk on the mattress. 3) Symbol also has 2 sided flippable mattresses, which quite frankly is like getting 2 mattresses for the price of one. Now you can rotate and flip and rotate and flip and get even more life. 4) In general, the higher the quality of foams, the longer a mattress will keep closer to it's original shape, though all mattresses will soften a bit. Here in 2013, Symbol has introduced Hybrid Unite Beds which feature a very comfortable and supportive coil system with Premium Gel, Memory Foam and Latex. These beds, if maintained, will be great at lasting with comfort and support. 5) The warranty does not cover comfort issues, where you decide you just do not like the feel anymore. When you try the mattress, stay on it for a while in the store. 6) My recommendations for 2013? If you want to stay in the economy range, buy the new Opportunity Memory Foam, all foam beds, which should retail $399.00 - $799.00 Queen and under in general. Buy a 2 sided from Symbol. Buy the Unite Relax or Refresh Hybrid Beds. You will pay less than the other "S" Brands and get a " Good Night's Sleep."

My wife and I purchased a Symbol mattress at a quality furniture store that was closing. We thought that it was one originally from the store, not one brought in as a decoy. To make a long story short, we paid $600 for this "firm" mattress set and rotated it faithfully as suggested. In less than two months, there were huge depressions on both sides of the bed. It looks like a mountain range running through the middle of it with valleys on each side! What a piece of junk and waste of money. I can't believe that these Symbol dealers have the audacity to tell people they didn't rotate it enough. Absolutely the worst mattress company on the market. I will try to contact the dealer but am not hopeful for a reply based on other reviews.

I too, bought a Symbol mattress set, not even a year ago. The first set was too hard so I upgraded and bought a softer one. That was in May of 2012. It is now January 2013 and I have a big indent where I lay and am getting backaches every night from this mattress. I have a bad back and this isn't helping! I am very disappointed in this mattress as I have turned it frequently and now I have to lay on the edge of the bed to get any support and then I roll back into the middle where it is lower. The dealer is coming next week to see if it is a 2" indent and if it is he will replace it..if it isn't I will have to go out and buy a different bed and it sure WON'T be a Symbol!

We bought a calif king Franklin mattress and it was so uncomfortable I had to put some foam on the top. My brother also got one and it has body impressions in it. along with a squeaky box spring that was horrible. I asked the dealer to get new box springs for us and he did however he NEVER delivered mine so we finally got tired of it (after 3 Years) and went and bought a King Koil and love it. I would NEVER buy another symbol mattress.

we are a symbol dealer as well and i must be the first to tell you if people would stop blaming the product because they are cheap and they go to used stores or a storage bin how ignorant...we have 4 stores and we carry all the nationals and believe me you get what you pay for, , , , people never blame themselves because they are cheap or they purchase a mattress on such conditions...i will tell you like it is after 20 years in this industry symbol by far is one of the best companies i have ever represented and as far as warranty we the dealer have no problem doing an exchange so i think the some of the people on here work for probally the national names and have nothing better to do...customers beware of false statements on symbol mattress we carry them and they are a fantastic company and the products versus price are great...so take responsibilty for making wrong decisions and not putting your mattresses on a frame with a center support and no mattress protector and purchasing a low end mattress and expecting that level to last...like all things in life quality has a price and so does cheap...

We bought our Symbol mattress at Mattress Warehouse, which no longer carries Symbol mattresses. We found this out when we tried to put in a warranty claim. They gave me a number to call. The woman said she would send me paper work to fill out along with directions. It basically said that I would have to ship the mattress at OUR expense to their warehouse so they could investigate it. Then WE would be responsible for the transportation of a new one should they determine it is in fact it is a manufacturer defect. My husband tried to contact this woman and left her a message. We have yet to hear back from her. Both of our backs are sore every morning. We aren't sleeping thru the night and tossing and turning. It looks like we have to jump thru hoops to get this mattress replaced and that is not right.

We have had 3 Symbol mattress sets in less than one year. The first one was a pillow-top, and after 4 months there were deep impressions where my husband and I slept. We were allowed to bring this set back for a more expensive set, almost $1, 000.00 dollars, a Bamboo foam set. This set also developed sags where we slept. We took it back and got a replacement set 3 months ago, this set also is doing the same thing. How much money do you have to spend to get a bed-set that ACTUALLY lasts as long as the 10 year period? We are also experiencing hip, back and shoulder pain.

Hi, I already posted a comment in April, 2012. Since then, I still have not heard from either the retailer or the mattress company. And yet the BBB hasn't responded to my complaint. This mattress is horrible. We paid $1000 and it was on sale 1/2 price. In May, my husband underwent open heart surgery with 5 bypasses and I have had my foot operated on. He also retired on back disability. This bed hurt his back so much after his heart surgury because he couldn't roll over on his side, that we went and bought another mattress. I still want something done with this piece of junk that we have. My advice to anyone buying a symbol mattress is please look around at other mattresses first. I know our retailer here doesn't care about what they sell but this company doesn't seem to stand behind their products either.

we have had our symbol mattress since Jan. 2011. it is very uncomfortable. it too has indentations and the retailer we bought it from has been in business for several decades. yet they haven't responded to our complaint. My husband is being treated for a bad back (disability) and I have RA. We are both retired and thought putting money towards a good mattress would benefit us both. How wrong we were. We have trouble sleeping at night and have to get up to move around. We should have kept our old mattress. I don't understand why these companies don't stand behind their products. My next step is contacting the better business bureau. I doubt whether it will help or not, Companies do not seem to take pride in their products anymore.

I have owned my bed for 13 years. I recently started noticing back pain in the mornings, and figured it was time for a new bed. I have been very satisfied with my Symbol set this whole time, and it still looks great, no sags, no noticeable impressions, it just must not be giving me the support I need anymore. I can't say I always followed the flipping schedule, or that a large pet has never been on it, but it has lasted me this long in spite of that! I really wish I could go back and buy the same bed over again, but time changes all. I hope that a new one will be just as satisfactory as the old one was (and I can still avoid back pain if i just sleep further down on the mattress, but that can be a hassle to remember!). I have researched and decided to give them another try, with their pricing, and past track record with me, it was a no-brainer! I never EVER had to file a complaint for this set. Now, if only I can find a double sided mattress since almost everyone has turned to these "no-flip" pieces of doggie doo that only last a year or two but cost twice as much as they used to! i am not so lazy that i can't flip a mattress, plus, it allows me to vacuum it thoroughly before applying fresh linens! Pet hair gets EVERYWHERE, even under the mattress, as most pet owners know!

Well, I just paid $931 the most I have paid for a mattress ever! But, I figured I deserved it for being a Hospice CNA, mother of a toddler and one on the way. I purchased a Symbol, medium firm, queen non pillow top and now I am completely nervous! I am switching from a sealy posturpedic. I hope I am satisfied with the list of complaints on here!

Symbol Bamboo Eastern King bed: I also wished I had read this page before purchasing my bed from Linder's/Legacy furniture store in Cathedral City, CA. I haven't even received it yet, but since it's closing out all merchandise, they won't be around. They did tell me that the manufacturing company would continue to warranty the bed. The mattress cover says Bamboo all across it, but I cannot find any information on a "Symbol Bamboo" online, but there is a Bamboo Dream Collection, however, my bed does not look like the ones online. Close out price $888.00 half of original price. I am in need to lose 80 lbs, but I did lay on it and it felt great and also after arising from it, the foam would spring back up. All I can do is hope for the best as it is not returnable, exchangeable, or refundable. I consider myself a smart shopper and always research before I buy, but I happened to walk into the store because of the closeout and the half price was a great deal from a $1800.00 bed. I guess once I get it and put it to use, I can come back and report.

If you weigh 300lbs and up you will get a crater on any mattress! Even the beds that cost $2, 000.00 and up! They are made for average weight people! Get serious people, soft pillow top beds are going to get impressions in them, it's what makes them comfortable, they contour to your body! All brands require a 2" or greater body impression before a warranty can be claimed!
