Wow, those scammers sure are on top of their game. Canned responses, quick comments, and even a fake charity scam to make you feel bad. Well, I guess if I was scamming people out of their money, I would want to extinguish any bad reports quickly and smartly.

Hi,

I do appreciate both sides of the argument over swipebids.com/swipeauctions.com. Reviewing this and other sites, I can see a lot of anger and resentment. I also see "Henan" and "Jennifer" trying to calm the waters by defending swipeauctions.com/swipebids.com which is appreciated. What my research Jennifer and Henan have been real busy lately stomping out fires.

However, I must do the math here to come up with an objective conclusion.

1. There are interesting arguments that Swipebids/Swipeauctions wants to follow the laws of Alberta, Canada. Upon reading the "Fair Trading Act" (Internet Sales), I see that any business agreement is void if the business does not supply an address. The reports I read claim Swipebids/Swipeauctions will not disclose their exact address. They use addresses in CO., Surrey, and cannot confirm or deny their address when asked on their live chat option. This sends Red Flags for me.

2. No matter the reason why swipeauctions do not want to disclose their address, they claim Alberta as their legal base through their terms of service. Since this is the case, contact Service Alberta with your swipeauctions complaints and enquiries at service.alberta@gov.ab.ca They will be happy to give you advice on your concern(s). They will even investigate swipebids/swipeauctions in Alberta and prosecute if they have enough evidence to do so.

To get better details on how to deal with your swipeauctions/swipebids concerns, see:

There are other sites I have encountered that also claim this. Do a google search on swipebids/swipeauctions and Alberta to receive other information.

2. Alberta has strict lottery laws from what I have read on the alberta.ca site. To me, if one pays .50 or so a bid and needs to keep bidding, aren't they doing the same thing as buying lottery or raffle tickets? The more bids bought, the better the chance to win? So, I researched to see if swipeauctions has a lottery license. Apparently, to date, they do not. This leads to question its legality. Again, you can share this concern with Service Alberta at service.alberta@gov.ab.ca and get their advice.

3. In my opinion, the price paid is somewhat deceptive. Why? Well, if you take the price paid and add up all the bids it took to get the price up, it could add up to thousands of dollars for an item that costs a fraction of this price. Price deception is also a violation of the "Fair Trading" Act in Alberta. Go to: http://www.servicealberta.gov.ab.ca/1049.cfm and click internet sales contract link.

4. I have read many complaints that the VISA charges are from Belize City. Well folks, offshore accounts are not disallowed in Canada, but are investigated by the Canada Revenue Agency. If your Credit Card bill claims money went offshore by swipebids/swipeauctions, do the right thing and contact Canada Revenue Agency to ensure everyone pays their fair share. The information on reporting is: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/gncy/nvstgtns/lds-eng.html. You can remain anonomous. CRA investigates all companies who trade in Canada who use offshore systems. Use the Prairie region number.

5. Local papers are concerned about Penny Auctions too. I find when the local area expresses concerns, you should too. Read this report from Sherwood Park.

All in all, you need to read the facts and make up your own mind on whether swipebids/swipeauctions is a scam or not. If you think it is, take action by contacting Service Alberta.

SwipeAuctions claims to have over 1 million users yet the site has only been live for just over 1 week and the domain was only registered less than 3 weeks ago! More lies and BS from Swipe Auctions.

Swipeauctions.com uses a UK Ltd company name and address:
CIRCLE MEDIA BIDS LIMITED, 72 HIGH STREET, HASLEMERE, SURREY, GU27 2LA

So Swipeauctions is part of Jesse Willms Just Think Media/ Terra Marketing Group/ 1524948 Alberta Ltd in Sherwood Park Alberta CANADA and yet the website is registered to a fake address in Los Angeles UNITED STATES and swipeauctions website says their address is in Surrey ENGLAND.

Jennifer,

Maybe you can clear up your real identity then. Is swipeauctions address in Surrey, CO, UT, somewhere in the US, Sherwood Park, AB and anywhere else that I couldn't find.

Then, clear up the swipebids/swipeauctions connection to justthink media. Cross referencing swipebids and justthink media with the BBB produces the same name as the owner. If you look at the past history, you will see a mountain of complaints.

If you can clear up these facts and even put your MAIN address prominantly on your website, you will honestly look better.

Please, no hype. We know you think your site is legit. Just tell us why the multiple addresses and link between justthink media and swipeauctions/swipebids.

This same owner apparently has law suits. One I see is with Oprah who claims she didn't endorse one of the past marketing concepts. Is this true? How about the Microsoft lawsuit with the present owners (but past businesses)? I know this one was settled.

And lastly, tell us specifically abou the past owners legal battles in UTAH dealing with "toothpaste".

If you can clear all this up, I will be the first one to openly admit to not being concerned here.
