Super 8 service/discrimination

I drove to New England last week to visit family, and on my way back I stayed in Elkhart, Indiana. After a 13 hour drive, my partner and I were given a room we booked online, and then later refused that room and kicked out of the hotel.

After checking in and after being given our key, we took our dogs for a walk. The clerk approached us in the parking lot and told us she made a mistake and we needed to rebook the room. When we went to the front desk the manager (Chirag Patel) said he did not have a record of pets being included in the reservation (we made reservations online as we have with other Super 8’s in the past). When we told him that we don't recall seeing the option to add pets online (we thought all the rooms were pet friendly rooms), he accused us of being cheats and liars. He then told us that we lied on the checkin form by marking the box that says we have no pets, but we did not complete the form (it was done by his clerk), nor were we ever asked about pets when we arrived.

We told him there was a misunderstanding either on our end when we made the reservations or on their end for not asking us about pets upon check in. He told me there was a room available, and when he saw my partner (another man) he asked if we were together. I said yes, and we agreed to pay extra for a new room. Mr. Patel then told us we could only get a room with two beds instead of one. I think he thought we would refuse but we said that would be fine. He again called us liars and said, "If you can't afford the room, don't book it in the first place!" He then told us to take our business elsewhere. After driving for 13 hours, we were exhausted and literally had no place to stay.

We have never felt such discrimination before based on our sexual orientation.

If that were not enough, we were the SECOND couple to be refused service. An African-American couple before us booked a room and were given a room that faced a parking lot full of workers who were camping in the lot under tents, with barbecues and loud music (we witnessed one man urinating right by the window). When the couple asked for another room Mr. Patel said to them that if they did not like the accommodations, they could take their business elsewhere.

I trust that this man and his hotel do NOT represent what is good about Super 8 hotels. My interest in emailing you is to simply let you know that as regular customers of your hotel chain (we travel frequently, with out pets), we will not be choosing Super 8 anymore as our hotel of choice.

Super 8 service

Hi I went to the super8 hotel in fernie b.c my home town I went in booked a room paid for it for the next night went in to get room and was told there's a 200 deposit after I paid for it wasn't told at first so fine I went out got my visa and went into pay deposit and was told to leave they are not serving me for I have to get out and that was the manager I think that was because my wife is philipino but I would like to thank them for ruining my home town visit for this was uncalled for I paid for the fucling room and no refund nothing just get out for no reason I was going to pay deposit. but i guess fernie has become a racist town rude disrespectful and scammers 132.25 lost gone thank you

Super 8 refund on a cancellation

I booked a room on Booking.com. I arrived at the hotel Super 8 West in Albuquerque, NM around 4pm. The clerk told me I had no reservation. I had the confirmation number and pin. She told me I had to wait for it to go through, and come back in an hour. I returned in an hour. She said, she had nothing. I asked her, if I could get room, without the reservation? She said, she had nothing available, only check-ins. I then went on booking.com and cancelled the reservation, it told me to call the property. I was standing there and told her to cancel the reservation. She was rude, slow and unbearably non-chalant. I called the main Super 8 number. They said, they would cancel my reservation and give me a refund. I have not received a refund. The full amount 45.86 was taken from my debit card on July 5, 2016.

Super 8 rude and inappropriate behavior of staff

I booked a room at Super 8 in Manhattan, KS. For June 3 through June 10 2016. Through hotels.com.Unfortunately I didn't mak it til the 6th but understood there was no refund. It was my son and I that stayed . I was there to do hair in my hometown. I decided to just put my room DOD, The firest two mornings. The 3rd day, I went to desk and asked if someone could just change our sheets . The woman was so rude, she said, they only changed sheets on wens days and Sunday s. I said can I just have a set of sheets ..that I actually used to work at this hotel and would be more than happy to change themv. She snarled and replied, I'll have to check if u can do that . I left and when I came back, maryann, the mgr. Asked me if I was Christinashe said she was told I was complaining about the housekeeping schedule, and she told me she went and cleaned my room herself. I told her I really didn't need all that, just at least my son's bed changed . Then a woman named marty came out of back and started yelling at me and, got very out of hand .she proceeded to say do u want me to call the police !?I really was shocked and felt very victimized . Then the next morning I get a note under my door stating there was a complain that there was smoking coming from my room and if so, card (WITH MY CARD NO#on it!)would be charged!I opened the door to go to c the desk about this and the housekeeper says, oh don't worry bout it, they put them under every ones door on this floor cause someone's smoking mariquana and they wanna scare them .really?uncalled for! Then when we were getting ready to leave room for good, I let housekeeper we were running behind 5mins.. I went outside .and was talking to a client of mine . Decided I'd better go in and tell them we we're def. Out . The same lady I asked to get clean sheets for me, says, U WERE LATE GETTING OUT. I TOLD HER I WAS JUST OUTSIDE AND THOUGHT I'D JUST COME BACK IN AND TELL THEM ROON WAS VACANT . SHE WAS SO UNFRIENDLY TO ME I JUST TOLD HER, , , U HAVE BEEN NOTHING BUT RUDE TO ME SINCE I GOT HERE AND I'LL NEVER STAY AT A SUPER 8 AGAIN !SHE SAYS, OK HAVE A GOOD DAY . I CAN'T BELIEVE I CHOSE THIS HOTEL . I NEVER EXPECTED TO BE TREATED SO AWFUL BY A HOTEL STAFF!I SPEND A LOT OF MONEY AND THE HOTEL EXPERIENCE IS WHAT'S GIVES YUR TRIP THAT EXTRA COMFORT . Super 8 hotel in louisville, kentucky misrepresentation

My husband and I had to come to Louisville for a three month follow-up cat scan at the University of Louisville. We had stayed at the Marriott Fairfield for three weeks in December. We wanted to stay there again, but they were no longer offering the medical discount. I chose Super 8 because the price was right and they claimed to have an airport shuttle. It turns out they do not have an airport shuttle and never have had one, even though it states that it does on the interent. The Fairfield had a free shuttle to take you to the doctors and hospital. By the time I paid all the cab fees, I could have stayed at the Fairfield.

I just felt this was false advertising.

Super 8 housekeeping anthony thompson

I had stayed at your motel in January i met a housekeeper named Anthony Thompson it was me an my 17 year old daughter later that day i had to go to walmart an get a few things as i returned back to my room this grown man was there with my daughter i made him leave an reported it to the manger there she acted as if it was no big deal later that night i found a pill on my daughter she begin to tell me that the house keeper Anthony Thompsom sold it to he she said it was called a suboxne i dont no what kind of place you are running but i promise to tell everyone what happen an the selling of pills

Super 8 service

I checked my son-in-law in on Sunday Nov. 29th 2015 for a week and have had nothing but a headache from day one! I called to talk to my son-in-law & daughter and was told the phone line was busy. So I asked if she would go back and have her call the house. I was told they was not there. Now knowing this is a lie, because they did not have a vehicle and would NOT walk anywhere as cold as it was, I called back and asked to be connected one more time. And was put on hold. For at least 5 minutes I waited. I called again and was told to line was busy. So I just went there to ask my daughter and son-in-law what was wrong. They had not received a call or a message from me. Remember I asked her to go back and have them call me. So while I am standing in the room, I called from my cell phone and requested to be connected to their room one more time. She said they was not in their room. I asked just too connect me to the room please. And was hung up on. I called back and as something must have went wrong and to please connect me with her room. She told me the phone in the room was busy. I was standing in the room I asked her to call. It was not busy. No one was one the phone. I asked her to please walk back and give them a message, it was very urgent I speak with them. As I waited for her to knock on the door, she got back on the phone and said they was not in. I will NOT be going back to this Super 8 ever again. Nor would I recommend anyone else to stay there. Reason I will never stay there again or recommend someone to stay there: Holly C. is a incompetent, rude and lying *****.

Super 8 hotel room

I booked a 2 bedroom family suite with a Queen bed and bunk beds. I got a 1 bedroom suite with the bunk beds in the bedroom and the queen bed in the living room. The hotel says that is their version of a 2 bedroom because it has 2 beds. Hotels.com says the hotel says I'm in a 2 bedroom, but won't allow me to send pictures and won't book a 2 bedroom in another hotel at no extra cost to me. They hang up once I get to the supervisor. The hotel will not provide an actual 2 bedroom even though both of the front office staff told me they actually have rooms with 2 bedrooms.. real 2 bedrooms not just beds in the living room because the one actual room like that is being renovated.

Super 8 awful room

Spiders coming out of the drain in the bath tub. We got a hot tub room and it was missing the intake screen which meant if you were sitting by it when on your skin was in the intake. My husband has a very large bruise on his leg now. The bed was hard as a rock also... Keep in mind we paid 150.00 for this room... Never again...

Super 8 dirty room

room was filthy dirt piled up in corner in the bath room. the head board has not been dusted in i had to do that so i could sleep in bed. carpet was filthy looked like it had not been cleaned . if i was not only staying just one night i would have left but i will never go back i have stayed at this super 8 several times over the last 8 years this is the first time it has been in this condition i will never tell my friends to stay here again . the sheet on one of the beds was not clean it was used. the bed spread had big holes in it .

Super 8 credit card fraud

Saturday May 9th 2015 my husband and I checked into the hotel. We were charged $466.90 including taxes which is fine. Sunday May 10th 2015 Super 8 charged our CC an additional $350 for cat in room. This is a "Pet Friendly" hotel. All over website it states $15 per pet fee! When I made the reservation they were made aware that we had a cat, when we checked in they KNEW we had a cat! We were scheduled to check out Saturday May 16 2015 due to my husband's job we had to extend another week. Thursday May 14 2015 I walked to the office to let them know we would be staying another week. Gal behind the desk then charged our CC another $466.90 on Thursday charge went through at 06:09:42 then to our bewilderment the very same day our CC was again charged $466.90 at 21:30:11! Not one of these charges have our signatures authorizing them to go through other then the first initial charge on May 9 2015. As of today's date Saturday May 16 2015 Super 8 has charged our CC a whopping $1750.70! One week of stay at your hotel and we have had paid close to 2 Grand! Who gave them the right to place all the charges on our CC? These are unauthorized CC charges, unsigned CC charges which boils down to your company committing CC fraud! I called your customer service holiness for them to tell me "someone from Corp will be in touch with you no later than May 21 2015 ... ummmmm not acceptable! Stolen funds from your company I demand to hear from Corp first thing Monday May 18 2015 morning! In the mean time I will consult attorneys.

Super 8 receptionist didn't help, the bad mattress and room

Don’t stay in the hotel of the company www.super8.com. I was really disappointed in it. I stayed for 2 nights in this place and it was horrible. I asked for non-smoking room, but they provided me a smoking room. Also the room was dirty and the mattress was old and uncomfortable. I tried to change the room, but the receptionist refused. The services were also awful, so beware and better find another hotel, where to stay. Share this info.

Super 8 rooms and reservations

Planned a family get together about 6 months early for this hotel... Booked online 4 king bed, lakefront, jacuzzi rooms... Have confirmations of the reservation. I called super 8 mackinaw city the day prior to arrival with was august 14, 2014.
The desk confirmed my reservation again.
We drove 4 hours to get there and when we went to check in... We were told they did not have the 4 rooms available and we would have to take 2 of the rooms with queen beds and no jacuzzi in them... I was very upset and was told at this time that for future reference they do not even have 4 king, lakefront, jacuzzi rooms but they will allow you to book the reservation anyway and you will not find out until you get there to check in.
The owners are aware of this I was told but still allow it. I think that is complete false advertisment. We were very dissappointed and I was very upset...
The two rooms we had to take in place of our king lakefront jacuzzi rooms were not real nice rooms at all... I would not recommend this hotel at all... There are much nicer ones for comparable prices.

Don’t find another hotel! Don’t rent from super 8 in searcy,ar. Don’t is my advice. Wasting your hard earned money for horrible customer service. Worst I’ve ever dealt with from any business or establishment honestly!

Super 8 in searcy, ar horrible desk service and owner. 2 women wanting to argue about lies. Wanted to charge me $300 for smoking. I didn’t didn’t did not! They saw me walking outside to smoke. I could see why they lie trying to screw over customers bc you can doesn’t mean you should! Get that blonde out of there, I can guarantee you she’s lost y’all business many times before. The owner wasn’t as bad but still should believe her customers first. I don’t go out of my way to complain, I couldn’t help it you whoever needs to know now!

Super 8 will not refund money

I booked a room for 3 nights through booking.com, for the first (and last) time. Went pretty smooth. Entered my credit card, and got an email confirming the reservation. Unfortunately, I had to cancel a few hours later, a full day before the check-in time of the first day.
I noticed in the email that there was a link to "manage your reservation". I clicked on that link, and went straight to a booking.com site that had a big button "cancel your reservation". I clicked the button, and instantly got a web page that said "your reservation is cancelled". I thought that went awfully smooth. Usually it is a bit of effort to cancel something or get a refund. Well, it only took a few seconds to find out why. I got another email that confirmed the cancellation, and informed me that the cost of cancellation was the ENTIRE price of the three rooms.
Which really begs the question - why even have a procedure to cancel a reservation, if you are not going to refund 1 cent of the money? That is like a store having a refund counter to take back products, but with no plan to ever give back the money. Why would anyone take anything back? Well, I believe it is a scam. They love it when you cancel, so they can rebook the rooms and keep all your money. That is why they make it so easy to cancel, but not advertise the fact they are going to keep all your money.
Booking.com blames the hotel, the hotel blames booking.com. Typical run-around. And I am left going to my credit card company to fix this mess.I have never experienced this from any other hotel I have ever been to. They always said I could cancel, if needed, prior to the date and there would be no charge.
Stay away from these guys

The OP knows all that...he's just not man enough to pay his bills and is looking for a way out. He and his family are known for this kind of stuff, which is why most merchants in his area won't deal with him.

I am sorry to hear about this. All information on cancellation penalties can be found on the Booking.com website under the "Conditions" column of the rooms. You can hover your mouse over the question mark in order to pull up the cancellation policy, along with other useful information. Please note that the hotels also go by the date of arrival as opposed to the listed check-in time. However, despite all of this I can try contacting the hotel to see if I can convince them to waive the fees if you would provide your booking number to me.

Super 8 rooms were nasty, even found meth pipe!

Oh my goodness... I traveled a very long way making these reservation a week in advance. Looking on the internet at the rooms the advertise I assure you it was not what the picture showed.. I arrived about to urinate all over myself and was rudely told... We have no bathrooms for customers. My card was denied on thanksgiving day but worked fine elsewhere! I had to pay cash as I was almost certain there would not be anywhere else. For three disabled people they tried to put both rooms up stairs. When requested downstairs it was a complete hassle. So they put us at the very end, so that when the doors close at night we have to walk around just to get in. The rooms smelled awful! They where filthy... As in sticky floors both carpet and bathroom. The walls where caked with slugged of some sort... Even a fecal anus imprint on wall next to bed. The shower ceiling was caving in. Soap # caked so that you could carve it away... Too much to write a large bar protruding from bottom of bed. And as we were checking out and packing out stuff... Making the bed so to speak... We find a glass meth pipe used and wrapped in a washcloth laying beside the bed under the bedspread... Again wow! The everything was just dirty. I was charged for pillows.. Wow! So as I settled in late when I returned from the turkey day meal... The beds smelled of urine. It was way after midnight when I finely dosed off... Then the dog down the way serenaded to whole hall. Getting secure wifi was a hassle to get password. Tv channels where saying one thing and playing something local. Everything was awful. I wrote three pages complianing... Manager refused to come down. No refund and refused to give my $20.00 back for the pillows and the letter... I got the twenty back finally and left with no letter... As he refused that as well to give back. Really I found a meth pipe in my room and everything above and got no refund... I have pictures and willing to produce to any who feel they can help me.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights (8/6 thru 8/9) with my wife and two children and was VERY disappointed in the overall experience. The hotel lobby was downright filthy, the lobby floor looked like it hadn’t been scrubbed in weeks and the tables provided for eating breakfast at were never wiped. I noticed a stain on the one table the first morning that remained there for the next two mornings as well. The rooms were no better with absolutely filthy carpet. At one point I dropped some water on the floor and used a white bath towel to dry it up and the towel turned almost completely black after only 2 swipes across the carpet. My wife also noticed the dirty condition of the carpet after taking a shower and walking across the floor barefoot only to find the bottom of her feet to be visibly black from the carpet. The bathroom was not in any better condition, the wallpaper was peeling from the walls and the tub and shower curtain did not appear very clean at all.
The service was not satisfactory either. On Saturday our room was cleaned while we were out and fresh towels and washcloths were left, but they did not take the dirty washcloths that were left in a pile in the tub. I left them along with Saturday’s pile right in the middle of the bathroom floor Sunday morning when we left and they were finally taken. The sheets were changed on both beds, but one of the two beds was not made for some reason either day.
When we went to breakfast on Saturday morning my children wanted orange juice, but the machine was out. We asked the desk clerk if he could refill it but were told that he was out and that the shipment hadn’t arrived Friday but he was hoping to have it that day. The same thing applied for the next two days (Sunday and Monday), the orange juice never arrived. I find it hard to believe no orange juice could be found for 4 straight days.
And a side note, the "free" wireless internet had almost no signal in our room. It dropped on and off the entire stay and was very slow when I actually did get connected.

I was expecting a decent stay based on the AAA recommendation, but overall I was very dissatisfied with the stay at this hotel. The cleanliness and poor service made it a very unpleasant experience leaving me with a very poor image of Super8 and making it very unlikely that I will stay at one in the future.

on the evening of june 12 2010 my wife and i were gouged on the rate of a room at super8 in long prairie minnesota. we were charged $98.91 when the charge should have been $76.93. i thought it was high for the location as they did not offer any perks like a swim pool exercise room or a decent cont. breakfast outside coffe and a slice of toast

no i did not the room was part of a block of rooms reserved for people attending awedding in a small town of which i used my credit card to make sure i had it. i have rented rooms in many other parts of the country, asi am a choice hotels gold elite member and feel the charge was out of line. in fact when i checked the price of particular room on super8 website i found i was ripped off.

Super 8 bed bugs

Arrived at my room to find they charged the card used to hold it. I was assured it was credited back and they took cash. I went up to my room and checked my beds for bed bugs and didn't see any, so I put my things down and went out. I returned to my room late got dressed for bed and laid down. I woke up at 3am being bit by something. I jumped up turned on the lights and pulled off the sheets to find bed bugs crawling. I called the front desk and was told there was nothing he could do. I ask for a refund and was told no. I got my things (3:00 am) took the room key down and ask for the manager to call me when he/she arrived. No one called I called and was told we can only cancel your stay for 10/05 and put that money on your card used to hold the room. No refund for 10/04 I was without a room from 3:00am until 12:00 saturday when I was able to check in another motel. I will never stay at a motel 8 no matter the location and if I was the franchise I would pull my name from this location.

DO NOT STAY AT THE SUPER 8 ON I-10 EAST BAYTOWN TX, THE STAFF IS RUDE AND THE FACILITY IS UNSAFE. Super 8 refund/unprofessionalism

On 7/16/2013 I booked and paid $94.71 for a hotel room through Priceline.com to stay at Super 8 motel in Mason Ohio for a one night stay on 8/2/2013. I arrived late and my daughter and I were greeted by an unpleasant staff member, Mary who didn't speak clearly or loud enough to try to understand. She took our paperwork and my license and went into the back room. A man came storming out of the back and demanded a $100.00 security deposit for our stay, I tried to ask why he would request that, we were late but no reason to demand a deposit. He became irate and ordered us out of "His Hotel" and off "His property". When I tried again to ask why he screamed, I know what your trying to do now get out, I asked him to call the police and he threatened to, which I encouraged but he just kept screaming at me telling me to get off his property, he owns it. This man Gurwinder Singh was very unapproachable and I feared for my safety as well as my daughter. Very unprofessional and no reason given as to why I couldn’t have stayed in the hotel where I had already prepaid for the room. I want the $94.71 refunded.

They refunded the $94.71 and all is well. However, will never stay there or recommend

Super 8 insects

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel several times and have never had problem. This time on the morning of the second day, the morning of checkout, we noticed an infestation of ants. They were crawling on my soft drink can that i had been drinking from all night and my wife had bites on her neck. The owner would only give me 30% off for one night, we stayed two, and absolutely refused to do anything else. I contacted Super 8 Worldwide customer care and was informed that the hotels are independently owned and they refused to do anything to help me. I think this is pretty poor for their name to be on it but not held responsible for the hotel. I have pictures of the ants and the bites on my wife so my next stop is the newspaper.

Super 8 bed bugs and won't even refund

This place has bedbugs we even caught the bug and brought it to the receptionist At the front desk After having huge whelps on my arms bitten up They wouldn't even give me a full refund wanted to reimburse only $20 After screaming at me at the top of her long lungs threatening to call the police if I wrote a review online about bedbugs In this location They will not want to refund you any money at all From the business aspect that all hotels have bedbugs Which isn't true And hotels would have no money if they refunded clients for their bedbug problem Went from playing dumb no recognition of the bedbugs to completely being full aware of the problem and knowledge of the present and past problems
