Sun Tan City horrible customer service and deceitful

They have insanely high membership fees and you have to tan at least 2 months. I was told I could tan one month but I couldn't cancel until the end of the month. I almost walked out because of that but they ensured me I would not be billed until the end of the month. Sure enough, I was billed in the middle of the month. When I called and explained the situation they said there was nothing they could do and they could not refund me. I also asked them to cancel the package but they said oh no you are not eligible to cancel yet. How is it I can't be eligible to cancel?! Then.. A 2 months later when I was eligible I called back and they said oops.. Sorry we can't cancel it for you. You have to create an account with us online then you can cancel. Worst customer service ever. Not worth it at all. Do not go here! If you are going to stay on a forever membership then it might be fine but otherwise.. Look elsewhere. I was charged $101 for one month plus membership then another $65 for another month in the middle of the month. Horrible horrible horrible. This is the first review I have ever written online... I never want to ruin someones business but in this case... I feel like it is my duty to protect anyone else from getting completely taken advantage of.

Sun Tan City stc scams

Suntan city in knoxville tn (fountain city).My husband got a membership the day we got back 2gether.Wendy dunn (hamby) lied 2 him the whole time she just wanted 2 make commission off the sale.She's hatin bc my man didn't want her.she is a meth head with the needle.Suntan city scams n all that yea I guess that's why they don't have honest ppl workin for them its easy money for drugs...stealin from ppl is what they do best will never tan there.fusion is the place 2 go...nice ppl work there n they don't try 2 sell u the whole salon...

Nope sure ain't.there's nothing 2 b jealous of what her needles n std's.no thanks she can keep it all.there's a difference between me n her she look like a man I look like a woman no jealousy here.freedom of speech just sayin.c I'm not the stupid type when we gt back 2gether I made him get checked n so did I.he has somethin I dont that's the way its gonna stay.bt she needs 2 start tellin folks so they can atleast bag it up.I'm just sayin she will lay dwn with anything any time any where.what does she care bout protection cause she already got it.no matter how much u dnt like condoms there safer than nothing plus she lays in those beds.no thanks ill pass.she tld him she was off drugs in feb then post on fb u only been clean 4 10 wks.what a liar n trash that is.I put my kids first.plus she lied 2 him 2 get that membership sign up.

Sun Tan City withdrew money after I canceled account

I went to sun tan city to use their spray tans because really you can't beat their prices. After a a few months I decided not to continue and canceled my membership I was not billed for 2 months. Then all of the sudden a $180 charge showed up on my account! When I called to demand a refund they said it could take up to 2 weeks and it wasn't guaranteed. Excuse me? I canceled my membership 2 1/2 months ago and you aren't 100% sure you can give me my money back? Ridiculous! This company is scam! DO NOT USE THEM!

Tanning beds are very weak and you don't get any color unless you use the high-priced bronzing lotions they sell

Sun Tan City bad service if you use your account o it's fullest

If you use your package to its fullest it seems you get horrible spray tans. I always notice the person waiting on me gets a strange look on their face and starts reading my account and then I always get a lousy spray tan I can get products just the same a LOT cheaper on eBay. However, the next 3 or 4 spray tans are terrible Seems to be a cheaper version of the spray tan I got in the beginning and before they hounded me to buy their products and I refused. Can't prove it but, have been out and had conversations with other big users and they all have had the same complaint. I even had two STC workers look at my account and one say, "look at the number of times" this was when I was upset over not getting what I paid for (upgrades) and what I was told I would get. They would NOT refund my money at all. I will NEVER buy any product or upgrades from them again. I will do my monthly service and if I can ever confirm there is a scam to give people that use their account to its fullest bad results to try and get them to buy products or slack off their usage I will file, and ask the court to make it a class action lawsuit. I have heard many many complaints like mine as I work with a large public population that can afford and do tan at tanning facilities. Not all use Sun-Tan City but, the majority do.

HAHAHAH! if you think that the employees can mess with the spray tan equipment and give you a bad tan you are crazy! as a employee of STC that is just hurtful that you think we would do that. Its the clients choice whether or not you buy something. Also, there is no way we could tamper with our equipment... Either Mystic Tan or VersaSpa, everything comes pre-packaged and everyone gets the same solutions. NO MATTER WHAT. that would just be morally wrong and STC would not have as many loyal customers as we have if this was happening. Think before you post things like this!

Sun Tan City money returned

On May 2nd, 2012 I was contacted by my bank for having been overdrawn. As this is a savings account, imagine my surprise. My account had been overdrawn by Sun Tan City for a membership fee. The last time I had used Sun Tan City was over 6 years ago. I contacted Sun Tan city's accounting department and gave them a copy of my bank statment showing where they had overdrawn the account, they assured me they would take care of it asap. The next day they contacted me and they needed my card that was attatched to the bank account in order to refund the money. So far I have spoken to 3 seperate people and the money has not been returned. I guess the next step is to sue. It is now the 18th of may.

I have been ripped off for over a year at the sum of $54.99 a month I want my money back ASAP or I will file charges against this company! I call this company and get nothing but a voice mail by some dude named Ritchie who has never called back. I don't expect he ever will. My name is Lynda Wilson I signed up to tan at Sun Tan City Stratham, NH. Any information you need about me can contact them. JUST GIVE BACK MY MONEY!

Sun Tan City not returning money

I quit Tanning at Sun tan city at the end of February 2012, after numerous things always being explained to me incorrectly and my credit card having random charges on their from sun tan city. So the day i decided not to tan with them any more i contacted customer service that day and was informed that the credit i had on my account would be credited back to my card. I gave her my card information again just to make sure she had it and she informed me that the credit took 14 buisness days to credit back to my card and i agreed. By the end of March i still had not received a refund and called back to be told the infomration and refund request had never been put in. So she got all the information again and said that she would give it to her supervisor and see if their was anyway that they could speed the process up. I asked when i should anticipate the refund i was told no later than April 17, 2012, extremely frustrated i agreed. I called again on April 12th just to make sure that everything was still ok and in the works i was re-assured that my refund would be to me no later than April 17, 2012 and that my card would work just fine. On April 19, 2012 i had yet to receive my refund. Irrate and beyond irritated i called sun tan city and demanded to know what was going on. I was told by a represenative that answered that they were changing credit card machines and a check had been cut to me. All fine and great except for a recent move on my end and the postal service not getting my change of address entered correctly so none of my mail was coming to me. So now i am told that i have a check in the mail and no one bothered to tell me that the refund would not be hitting my card. At this point i demand to speak to her supervisor who infomrs me that they have to wait for the check to come back to them then they are going to take $25.00 out of my refund for a stop payment on the check and they cant put the money back on the card i gave them because it isnt connected to a bank institute. I explain to the supervisor that a check will not work for me i was told the money could be put on my card and thats how i would like the refund. Then her story changes and she doesnt even know if a check has been cut. I ask her to find out for me please and i agree to give her my chase card # for the refund to go to. She couldnt even tell me if a check had been cut she said it could be as early as tomorrow that i know if a check had been cut. I just cant beleive that no one can look and see if there is a check out there. At this point all i want is my money back on my card today. I feel as if i have waited more than an ample amount of time for them to refund my money and at this point i cant stand to deal with them anymore.

My son belonged to Sun tan City in Chattanooga, TN while attending college. He became seriously ill and had to move back home to Knoxville. We (as his parents) tried to tie up all the lose ends of his business commitments. We recently found out from our credit union that Sun Tan City has been taking money out of his bank account for a year, when he didn't even live there and was not well enough to even use a tanning bed. When I realized it, I called customer service and was told they would refund all of his monthly charges from March 2012-March 2013. They wanted us to fax all the medical documentation as well as documents from his college indicating his withdraw was approved due to his serious illness. I was told to expect a check in 7-10 business days. When the check never arrived, I called to check and was told they decided not to approve it. I explained the situation and what I had been told by a customer service rep. several weeks ago. I was told that a supervisor would call me to review the request. No one has called and my son is still very ill, has thousands of dollars in medical bills and is being screwed out of $400 plus from Sun Tan City for paying for a service he was not physically able to use.

I had went back after not tanning for almost a year and once again they were alllllllll rude and they never give you correct information about anything they want your money and they want to SCAM you out of everything it is absolutely outrageous. Now i was promised a instant refund b/c the jwoww lotion broke me out oh well let me just tell you after they told me INSTANT, it was then changed to 7-14 business days! Sneaky Sneaky business I WOULD LOVE TO SPEAK WITH CORPORATE... Dont waste your time with them stick with what you know like i will take my business back to Sunsations!

Sun Tan City rude customers and down computers

I was in there Monday night. The computers were down once again (seems to be an ongoing problem). Honestly only one lady appeared to be actually working and getting customers through the line. She was doing really well considering the place was packed. Two very large ladies got mad cause a few ladies got to go before them. It was dumb cause it was not even the beds they requested. One of the large ladies asked the blonde lady her name and if she was a manager. She replied back with her name and she was a manager. They got mad and took it out on her. One cussed at her and told her she was rude (so not the case). I felt so sorry for the lady. She tried really hard to make everyone happy. The computers really need to get fixed soon but don't take it out on the workers there. It is not their fault at all! They also might need to get some better help cause the little blonde seemed to be doing everything while the other two just looked clueless!

Sun Tan City tanning

I also have a complaint toward Sun Tan City. I have been a member since they became local and it used to be ran better and much smoother. There is such a large turn over with employees and there fore they never know what they're doing. Very long waiting time to tan and most of the time only one person working behind front desk. The long lines of customers waiting to tan is crazy! I see people walking in and turning right back around all the time because of such a long wait time and I've done it too. The computer systems are either froze, slow or not working is always their excuse. They always screw up my account and never have my upgrades right! Also, the promotions that they do for anyone to take advantage of (including non sun tan city members) aggravates me because then it makes it even worse to try and tan. Those people aren't going to become sun tan city members just because of that promotion... They can't even keep the members they have now happy

Sun Tan City horrible service

I feel as if I have been scammed! I purchased a membership package one week ago, priced at $80 per month. I have gone twice and both times I was there for 1 1/2 hours! The third time I tried to go I waited 1 hour before being told there was a 50 minute wait for my bed, I cancelled my membership and left. The problem is that their employees obviously work off commission, so they sit up front signing people up and just totally forget about the actual tanning that they promised. On the third time, for the entire hour while I was waiting in line ALL of the instant beds were open. Literally, for a complete hour no one tanned in one of those beds, then I was told there would be a 50 minute wait? One of the employees selling a membership spent over ten minutes trying to convince this woman she needed to buy a bottle of $60 lotion, while the woman kept insisting she already had lotion that worked well for her and she did not want to buy any. Maybe she could have saved her breath and cleaned some beds instead? This place only cares about the money, they do not care at all about customer satisfaction. After I cancelled and left, I called the corporate office to tell them what had happened and told the woman I wanted my money back, and guess what? She denied it. So, I would really like someone to explain to me what they mean by "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed"? I spent nearly $150 (counting lotions and all the random stuff they convinced me I needed) to tan two times. I'm obviously not satisfied, but they're not going to do anything about it. This place is seriously a scam.

Sun Tan City bad service

Up until now I have always had decent service at Sun Tan City, nothing to complain about. But not too long ago they were having a free tan week. Usually I got the spray tan but for this particular event I wanted to try a different tanning bed.

When I got there I told the receptionist lady I wanted to do the “free tan thing”, expecting her to nod and then ask me about my options, but instead she rolled her eyes at me and looked at me like I was stupid, like it was going to be a huge job for her to have to talk to me.

Well excuse me! What did she want me to do, explain in explicit little detail everything I wanted, right off the bat? I was hoping to get a little information from her, or at least a polite greeting. I wasn’t being rude, so there was no reason for her to be rude to me. Why do companies hire such rude people? It isn’t good for business.

I emailed the company to complain, but they never got back with me. With this kind of customer service and such rude and grumpy employees, it is no wonder they are losing business!

well the fort oglethrope stc is at it again! they have put fliers on MY customers cars ! i cant believe these people can sleep at night knowing what they are doing! this is one of the most rude steps a business can take tring to gain business, for god sakes ...dont go to stc! all they want is your money ! i have had to fix people after they give them that $5.00 dollar spray tan and trust me its hard to fix a bad spray tan! ihave called corp several times and i want to talk to the owner but he will not call me back . man whata way to do business!

sun tan city moved down the road from my salon and during their process of gaining customers they put flyers on MY customers cars! im beside myself with this! im just a small business tring to make a buck and this ginormous company want s my people ? i think that sun tan city is the of the worst companies i have EVERA DELT WITH they are rude and they dont care if you get a tan or not! they are greedy rich people that are gonna keep on going until they put all the small tanning owners outta business! their motto? come to the city and take over the neigborhoood! that ought to tell you what kind of people they are! i hope they go down as fast as they went up!

I am not sure what is going on with the hiring practices of Suntan City. After several "RUDE" episodes at my neighborhood location, I decided to try one in another community. I traveled 8 extra miles hoping to find the relaxing spa experience that they advertise. Barely in the door I felt the angst among the clients that were at the counter. Stepping forward, I could hear the exchange. The customer in front of me was getting the usual grill about lotions and the girl at the other register was being being told she could only stay in the bed for 8 minutes due to the fact that she had not been in for 2 months. She was trying to tell them that she had been to the beach and also had tanned at another salon. Suntan City employee responded with "we have no record of that" . This is crazy! I always feel like STC is trying to cut people short on time and always trying to sell LOTION! I get it that LOTION is a big part of the income stream, but when there is a line out the door, maybe a simple " are you good on lotion?" would work. It is bad enough that Obama imposed a "white tax" on tanning beds, could we please give the minute police and lotion pushers some lessons on tact.

Sun Tan City handicap discrimination

I have had lots of problems with the management- ( DISTRICT) & upper management- they are not willing to tell the owners what all is going on! #1 they are anti-handicap (thats the way I feel) and I have been discriminated against because it takes me longer to tan- Let me explain- I have to take the braces off of my right leg and I just take a little longer to get in and out of the beds... I most often use the stand-up bed because its easier for me to get in and out of, the last time I tanned I did the stand-up and then the spray-tan, near the end of my spray tan somebody was banging on my bed and screaming and yelling, I did not know what was going on and was scared to come out, i did not have my cell phone so I picked up the phone in the bed that is suppose to go to the front desk but nobody was there to pick it up- I looked out and could not see what was going on, then a woman came toward me cursing and screaming that she had to go to work and I took to long and I said its always going to take me longer, she threatened to kick my ...and said she had my number and chased me to my car- the next time i came to tan I was told I was not allowed to tan at suntancity anymore and to call this number, I called it and it took 4and half days for the man named Al to call me back- i told him how I felt and I told him other things that had gone on there and he said that none of that happened and he didnt have time to investigate it because he ran 123 stores and 6 more were being open that week and he didnt have time to talk to me anymore about it! I asked if I could talk to owners about this and he said NO we are not bothering them they have new stores being opened... Al said he would call me the next day and never didnt, suntan city is still taking my monthly membership money and will not let me tan! I fell in the spray tan bed 6 months ago and hurt my left knee and called the front desk and the phones were not working, i called the customer service# & they were closed- I called my husband, I got injured there and I feel like suntancity is discriminating against me because now my left knee is bad and they just dont want to accomidate me because the stand-up bed I tan in need the bulbs changed and they said they need changed but they are not going to change the bulbs just for me! There is a bait and switch that I have seen them do to other customers- I told Al about it, he said nothing about it!tHE DISCRICT MANAGER KATIE SAID I WAS A LIAR and I EXAGERATED And THAT I TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SUNTANCITY ///?***###///?yes...thats how I WAS TREATED! christy rushton my number [protected]- please help!

Sun Tan City bad attitude employees

I have usually had a decent experience at Sun Tan City until recently. They were having free tan week and usually I do the spray tan but I wanted to get in a different bed for this event. The lady basically rolled her eyes at me when I said that i wanted to do the "free tan week" thing. I don't have enough room to go into detail. I don't have the room to tell everything. I emailed the company and they never even got got back to me. No wonder they are losing business!

Sun Tan City attitude from employees & long wait

I thought Sun Tan City was great at first, despite all of the complaints I had heard from friends about the place. I decided to check it out. I walked in to a pretty decent environment, top of the line equipment, nice set up, clean, organized, etc. The employees seemed fairly nice and helped me sign up quick and easy. I scanned my fingerprint because of their "policy" which is members have to scan a finger so others cant use your package. The lotions are a bit pricey, I had brought my own so I didn't have to buy any, thankfully. I supposed if you can splurge and "treat" yourself it'd be a good buy, just make sure you ask an employee the best lotion for your own skin type. All lotions are different to your own skin. They do have quite a few bed and booths, and I liked the fact that each individual bed and booth had a decent sized private room with a lockable door. Very clean and neat. Every time Ive been the bulbs always seem bright and new and the employees actually do clean the bed and booths after every customer. I say "they actually do" because I have had experiences with other tanning salons where the employees didn't clean the beds or booths right after someone else used it, one lady actually sprayed pure bleach onto a bed and wiped it with a rag. Ive walked out on all those tanning salons. Disgusting, maybe they should be the ones I should be complaining about on here. :) As far as Sun Tan City I would give it an 8 out of 10. It'd get a perfect 10 if the lines weren't so long every time I go in. I know its due to the fact that so many people signed up for there $10.99 a month unlimited fast tanning bed. Basically its the cheapest bed, its still a really good bed but you do have to go more often than you would with the faster, fastest, instant, or sunless. So thats why they're always so busy, I assume anyway. And the only other issue i have is the fact that after you sign up and the employees "get you" as far as signing you up they lose there cheerfulness and friendliness. Maybe they're so grump because they're always so busy. I dunno but hope this helps :)

Aaahhh, another attempt to advertise for the company, by offering a small insignificant complaint all the while extolling the other 'great' services and attitudes they have...I avoid such places after reading this type of underhanded advertising, as this is a site that is trying to make public LEGITIMATE complaints, So i have a complaint against YOU now!

Sun Tan City hardball tactics, horrible spraytan

Hello,

I am writing this complaint because while I agreed to a price for a spray on tan, I did not get what I wanted at all. I want to start this off by not blaming the sales person for the hardball tactics that she took with me but to express that I am a little upset with her as my issue may have been caused by not cleaning the booth good enough.
I walked into this store because it was the closest to my home and I was flying to Florida the next day. I specifically told the person at the counter that I only wanted ONE spray tan the CHEAPEST I can get and that I didn’t need any other tanning services because, well it was almost winter and I live in Indiana and I don’t need to look “tan” all year long. I just wanted a spray tan to visit Florida because I knew we would hit the springs down there and I didn’t want to stick out.

First she took me on a tour of the place after repeatedly telling her I didn’t need to see anything. She then tried to sign me up for different packages, beds and spray, just a bed, spray for a year, bed tanning for the rest of the year ect ect ect.

Finally we got down to the price of my spray tan. I usually go to the place right by my hair salon and it’s locally owned and its 19.99 for the mid color perfume so I don’t smell like chemicals and free lotion to put on my hands and feet. While I was not expecting this exceptional price from a chain that just showed up in town, I was pretty darn surprised when the cost was something around 40 dollars for ONE session!

So I reluctantly agree, I figure, I wasted this poor girl’s time and gimmick I better at least let her sell me a tan. I know the prices and the tour and everything are things that she is forced to push on me from corporate and I really didn’t want her to waste all that time and not get a sale. I have out my debit card and I’m trying to pay her. She ends up up selling me two “ try me” lotions ( again, I got suckered in because I felt like I wasted her time)

So I get in the booth. The thing that really bothered me was that the spray wasn’t a fine mist; it was more like what your hairspray does when it’s clogged. This is caused when the sprayer is not cleaned correctly after each tanner. When I got out I was horribly spotted and looked like I had freckles where the tan didn’t spray evenly. I rubbed my arm to see if maybe I could “rub it in” like I was told to do, and the tan just streaked like no other. I decided not to try to rub anything else in because a streaked arm and spots all over were bad enough.
I asked the girl at the counter if this was normal and she said it would even out as the tan (what I call) baked. Usually you get optimal coverage and color in 8 hours. I was especially careful during this time and didn’t dare go to bed until my 8 hours were up. I woke up the next morning and I looked HORRIBLE. The streak on my arm was way more pronounced, and the spot where it spurted out looked like huge freckeles on my skin. I called my husband in and his first reaction was “what happened to you” so I got in the shower. I did not scrub or anything, I was attempting to wash the excess off my skin to see if maybe things would be less pronounced. While a little washed off, not enough came off to make me look less like a spotted, streaked, tanned monster. I waited two more hours and got in and just tried to scrub it all off.

I’m upset that I paid 40 dollars for the WORST spray tan that I EVER got in my life and ended up having to wash it off the next day.

It's obvious that this company keeps a close eye on the complaints boards, and it is good of them to actully address the above issue, but just keep a close eye on future postings that may seem like a complaint upon first view, but are in fact 'clever' attempts to advertise. That imo is pretty underhanded.

Sun Tan City removing free pkts of tan lotion and reselling them

I am a member of Sun Tan City and today while I was waiting to tan, I saw the manager and another employee unpacking tanning lotions and removing the free incentive packets of lotion that were meant for the consumer before they placed them on the sales shelf. They re-sell these free packets for like $8.00. It is not enough that they mark the lotions up 100%. They need to get more money for the free packets gouging the consumer. I will never buy any of my tanning products at Sun Tan City after seeing this type of behavior.

I work at Stc and we do have some packets that have not for resale on them mixed in with the other packets that have barcodes on them that are for sale.

Wow! as an employee i am offended that you would say these thing when you know nothing! Those PKTs on the bottles are almost always not approved by STC to be sold and are put on their by the makers of the lotions to get rid of them. We are always looking out for our clients and when people like you go around making claims like this, it really makes us strive to satisfy even harder! please think before you speak lady.

I work there and I assure you that those packets are not sold. They go under the counter and given out when someone is unsure if they want to buy that tan extender so a packet is given for a test. Ask if theres anyway to try something new! At our salon, the people working will bring out the tester bottles from under the counter, or ever let you use their own lotion!

I think that unless you were there don't criticize her! I believe this did an does happen! Sun Tam City is the most unprofessional business I have EVER encountered! I did not receive any promotional samples or even offered them! They don't have to be barcoded to be sold. The manufacture of the lotion would not put the samples on the bottle if they were not intended for a bonus for they're consumer..OTHERWISE they would ship them unattached! You all defending Sun Tan City sound real ignorant! I BELIEVE IT HAPPENED!

Agreed. The sample packets are given as freebies and/or put in new client welcome packages. They can't be sold because they're not barcoded and not listed in inventory.

I too can guarantee that this incident may have appeared like they were removing them, but I have actually been given the moisturizers for free. They do not resell them.

This is a clearly a case of someone making assumptions and speaking without actually looking into the situation. As someone who once worked for Sun Tan City for several years, I can assure you that this is not the case. The "free packets" are removed for both aesthetics and functionality in regards to stocking the shelves. The packet is then generally placed in a container and given to clients as a sample when appropriate. Never at anytime would those items be sold. If you had taken the time to ask questions you would have realized the “free packet” is in most cases a sample of a tan extender. This sample is clearly marked as “not for resale”. In additions Sun Tan City does not sell packets of tan extender, this further proving that this claim is inaccurate.

Although I no longer work for this company I continue to tan with them. Clearly if they were such a dishonest, conniving company I would not trust them with my hard earned money. I choose to do this because I know they operate with a tremendous amount of integrity and genuine concern for their clients. I can’t begin to understand why anyone would want to blindly accuse someone without having all of the facts; however my hope is that is you take time to truly investigate your concerns in the future. I can honestly tell you in this instance you are very mistaken!

That’s funny because the sun tan city I have been going to literally just had a “sale” on their sample packets. Buy 3 sample packets for just 10 dollars. Not only that they are all over the salon showing they are for sale. I [censored]ing BOUGHT the sample packets deal not even knowing they aren’t suppose to be for resale. I’m here looking at complaints because they quite literally took 250 from me and refused to do anything about it. Even with my bank statements! This is what is wrong with the world. They are literally scamming people. Why would you ever want to be associated with a place like this? Have you looked at how many people they have said overcharged them or charged them multiple times a month or charged when they had closed their accounts? Thats sickening.

Sun Tan City merchandise

I like Sun Tan City because although it is more expensive than the other tanning salons, the hours seven days a week, 10-10, make it convenient to tan anytime you have the time. I like the beds large size and the a/c and fans, music, the face and shoulder tanning are great and the cleanliness is wonderful.

What I don't like is the lines even though they have lots of beds. The push on products that I think are outrageously expensive is annoying. I don't understand why the members have to wait to tan while they sign in new members. The manager or salon director is not friendly at our location. Her employees are much nicer.

On one of my days to tan, as normal they pushed their special of the week on products, it was a large bottle of moisturizer, for a really decent price. I liked the smell of this particular lotion so I agreed to buy it. When I handed over my debit/credit card to pay, the employee tried to run it and run it several times, finally I said why not try to type it in. That did not work, instead of trying to run it on another register, the manager came over and tried the same thing, I knew that my card was good, the line for tanning grew and grew and I was humiliated when the manager said "its not going through, would you like to try another card?" I said no and left. Three days later I am looking at my on-line bank statement and low and behold there is a charge from Sun Tan City for the amount of the moisturizer that I did not get! So I ran off a copy and highlighted the amount and walked into my STC location and got the same manager. She looked over my entire bank statement and questioned who the employee was, ran my membership and finally gave me another moisturizer, not the same one I was going to purchase that day, because they were sold out. I told her that day the card wouldn't go through, I went to Krogers and TJ Maxx afterward and had no trouble with my card. She blamed it on the out going line of the register. No apology or smile for the humiliation of looking like a dead beat. I guess I can thank my lucky stars that I did not have ten bottles charged to my card! I think they could improve on customer service and less on products and signing in new members by taking care of the ones that pay the monthly memberships.
