I posted four concert tickets I wanted to sell on their website. Stub Hub contacted me and told me there was a buyer who wanted to buy my tickets. They told me to send the tickets to them(Stub Hub) and they would send me the 200.00 dollars I wanted for the tickets. I sent them the tickets. I never received the money from them. When I asked Stub Hub where is the money they told me they never got the tickets which is a lie. I sent it Fedex. Stub Hub is a company of thieves, garbage and crooks.

Hey there sbwash,

We're very sorry to hear about the hassles and inconveniences you experienced at the concert. As StubHub is an open marketplace, we do not actually buy, own, or sell any tickets. All tickets on StubHub are listed by other individuals who have chosen to sell their tickets at a price based on supply & demand.

When sellers list their tickets on our website, they agree to our terms explaining that they agree to sell authentic & valid tickets in the correct section & row as advertised. They also agree that should they sell misrepresented or invalid tickets, they will not be paid for the tickets, as well as facing financial penalites for their error. This is all outlined in the StubHub User Agreement - http://www.stubhub.com/user_agreement/

Our FanProtect Guarantee is available to our buyers to ensure that should you receive misrepresented or invalid tickets, you are guaranteed a full refund for the tickets you purchased if alternate tickets cannot be located. Unfortunately we cannot provide compensation for travel accomodations, though we certainly would like to follow up with you regarding this experience. We'd love the opportunity to make this up to you.

Please email your StubHub Order # and best contact information to yourfeedbackmatters@stubhub.com and a member of our Executive Customer Care Team will be happy to follow up with you directly regarding this issue.

Our sincere apologies, again, for this hassle. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Executive Customer Care

Stub Hub knowingly sells tickets it knows may be invalid.

Stub hub does in fact sell tickets which they know may be non-valid. I recently flew from Denver to California for a concert, and was told at the gate the "tickets had been issued twice and were invalid. It was humiliating, and although stub hub refunded the ticket cost they have not yet addressed the two airline tickets we purchased to come. Knowingly selling invalid tickets is fraud.

Stub hub is selling tickets they dont have! I bought tickets for Blue Man group and the "Seller" never uploaded my tickets. I called stub hub and all they could do is try to call the seller, or send him an email, but all they had was a business phone number for the seller. C'mon people - who doesn't get a cell phone number from the seller?! Bottom line is I bought tickets from StubHub that they never even had! NEVER Buy tickets from stubhub they're frauds!

I purchased tickets 4 months ago for an event that will occur in two weeks.
Stubhub "guarantees" comparable or better seats, but THEY make the decision as to what is comparable or better. When my seller fell through they offered, as comparable, seats in the opposing team’s area or 10 rows and to the side of the original seats. Comparable seats, from my perspective, would be ones with a comparable view, not so said the manager I spoke with (Tyler was supposedly two levels higher in authority than anyone else I talked to at the organization – he admitted that the seats he was offering were not comparable with “kind of comparable” and then would not admit that he said that). I now have to accept either a refund or tickets I could have purchased 4 months ago for less money. WHAT A RIPOFF. I hope the TV camera comes my way while at the game, you’ll see me with the big sign that reads “STUBHUB SUCKS”.

It's funny how ppl complain about SH, I read these all the time, and I order from SH from time to time, but I shop around, I don't just rely on one freaking site, you ppl are so dumb it's sad, then you want to sue and protest, and say how horrible they are, but the compaits come after they have made purchases, you don't read the site, and because you are too damn lazy to go and get them directly from the venue, your mad that some resold tickets, and made money off you! Get over yourselves, and stop being STUPID!

The following was my very first experience with StubHub and will most definitely be my last.

Two days ago, I ordered Winter Classic Tickets. Or, so I thought.

When I clicked the "purchase" button, I assumed I "purchased" the tickets. But apparently, that's not the case. Purchasing to them means you have an opportunity to purchase them, while the seller can decide whether or not they really want to sell.

In other words, I've spent the past 48 hours waiting on the seller to confirm (watching deals go by me in the meantime), feeling hopeless and rejected. No confirmation. Why would StubHub put its customers through such misery?

An hour ago, I went on eBay and found a pair of tickets from a seller of 100% rating. I emailed the seller, asking if I could get the tickets by Tuesday. Within 1 minute, I got a response from him, saying "no problem...I'd get the tickets overnighted by Tuesday." And that is why I love eBay and will NEVER use Stubhub again.

I never knew what a disgraceful company StubHub was running.

I have to vent my frustration with StubHub too. I was using the site for the first time and purchased tickets to the Red Sox/Tampa Bay Rays game at Fenway park as an anniversary gift for my parents. I managed to go through the entire order process unaware that the tickets had an obstructed view (meaning that there's a giant pole in front of the seat). When I learned about this through the confirmation email, I called them immediate asking if I could have the order canceled or exchange the tickets for something else for the same game. They simply refused to do anything to help me and said that I was stuck with them. The manager was rude and even said in his own words "too bad, it's your fault" - which isn't even true because I never did see a disclaimer indicating that they were obstructed during the order process. If I did, I wouldn't have bought the stupid tickets - and I wouldn't have been calling them right away to exchange them! I'll never use their website or recommend them for anything ever again. Terrible, terrible company!

I wish I had read these reviews before I was here to post my own. NEVER use STUBHUB. Lieing, decietful...how else can I put it? I bought 4 tickets to Mamma Mia on this site. Apparently telling the truth about where the tickets are is not part of the the Stubhub policy. I bought tickets that clearly stated center stage. The seller even wrote center in all caps. Turns out the tickets are side left mezzanine, a side view of the show. Stubhub claims that the listing was posted within their parameters and is therefore valid. Don't rely on the seller comments. That is what got me into trouble. They refunded the Stubhub fee, obvious admission of guilt and gave me back the shipping fee...another rip off. $11.95 to mail me 4 pieces of paper. Ha! NEVER AGAIN

I just had the same issue that you had with playoff hockey tickets. The tickets were returned to me the day the event took place and since I was out of town I couldn't use them or sell them to someone else. The kicker is that they didn't even notify me the guy was sending them back. I didn't find out until 3 days later when I returned and the tickets were on my doorstep. I then had to call Stubhub to find out that they say it isn't their responsibility but that they also charged me another $120 for replacement tickets. So I ate 2 $90 face value seats and was charged another $120 because some guy had buyers remorse and Stubhub says it is my fault.

If that isn't bad enough. The customer service rep was the rudest CS rep I've ever ran into. He refused to give me his name after I asked for it. He also said he didn't have an employee number. He laughed at me, mocked me, and refused to let me speak with his manager. After 30 minutes of asking to speak with his manager he finally put one on the phone. His manager gave me the name of the rep and I asked that they review the tape of the call. I hope this dude loses his job.

The CS Reps name was Mark and the manager was Ben. They are from the Rochester, NY office.

Has anyone ever made any progress with getting an issue resolved with Stubhub? They are not willing to take any responsibility.

I went on-line to purchase tickets for Billy Elliott by doing an internet search for "Billy Elliott." I reached a site that sold the tickets. There was a logo for "StubHub." I purchased six tickets and it is reflected in the confirming email that I received as follows: Price per Ticket: $119.99
Quantity: x 6
____________

Subtotal: $719.94

Service Fee: + $71.99
Shipping Services: + $11.95
____________
Order Total: $803.88

In fact, when I got the tickets the face value was $41.50 per ticket. The $71.99 "service fee" was misleading because that is actually the service fee for EACH TICKET. I went back on line and there is, IF THE SCROLL DOWN, a notice that "You are buying tickets from a third party...Ticket prices are set by the seller...and may differ from face value. ALL SALES AND BIDS ARE FINAL. No refunds..." There is a web site specifically for Stub Hub with frequently asked questions, but I never saw that site and there was no link in the page the advertised Billy Elliot and where I made the purchase. My credit card company said they receive many complaints regarding StubHub, but there is nothing they can do. At the very least, it is misleading to sell a ticket without informing the purchaser of the face value of the ticket and I am sure I am not the only consumer who believes they are purchasing tickets at face value. I work on 45th/5th Avenue and I could easily have gone to time square to purchase tickets for an April 24, 2009 performance. To pay a $71.99 service charge for a $41.50 ticket (of course that's extra) is outrageous. I lost $431.94 on this scam. Anything you could do to help me recover this would be greatly appreciated.

Any one who uses Stub HUB is asking for trouble.
I was a victim of their unfair business practices.
I had just sold a pair of tickets to the Wash-Giants game Nov. 30th because I could not go.
Now when you sell tickets they say you are responsible providing the right ones. Which I did.
Well the buyer didn't like them because they were not the best of seats. And according to Sub Hub since they were rejected and I "should" have decribe the seating better I would be responsible for the 276.00 extra charges for the nicer seats. And now I see a 276.00 charge on my credit card. A rip off? I should say so.
So I say no one should do business with the likes of Stub Hub. I will be contacting the FTC, The Attorney general and Fox news about this.
and anyone who wishes to contact me to start a grass roots organization to get rid of them are free to do so.

Why The StubHub Guarantee Doesn't Work!

Here is why you cannot use StubHub when purchasing premium tickets for a client. Despite this promise

We Guarantee:
You will get your tickets in time for the event.
Your tickets will be authentic and valid for entry.
You will receive tickets comparable to or better than the tickets you ordered, or your money back.
You will be refunded if the event is cancelled and is not rescheduled.

Do you really want your important client turned away at the door when they sell you invalid tickets?

Do you really think they will locate comparable tickets for your client, right behind home plate? Didn’t you brag to him that “you” located these tickets because he or she is a valuable client?

Do you really care about the “or your money back” guarantee? No. You wanted your client to enjoy a special event.

Will your client be your client after this disappointment? No. He will however, tell all his friends about you.

Stubhub sold me invalid tickets belonging, to James Manfredonia of NYC, to was on September 18th Yankees game. I have asked several times for an answer: Did they or the owner of the tickets commit fraud? No answer. Oh - they did send me a $200 credit. The cost of my trip exceeded $4k I do plan to submit a complaint to the NY Attorney General’s office. I hope this will work; I have my doubts. I see StubHub (an EBAY Co) donated to the AG’s political fund.

My experience with Stub Hub was terrible! I would never use these rude, deceptive thieves again & urge anyone reading this to beware of their nasty attitude and unprofessional business practices. Stub Hub's order confirmation states clearly that if you have a problem with your order, you should notify them immediately and they will assist you. When I asked Andre, the rude "manager" I had to deal with, how he planned to assist me, his answer was that he would assist me by telling me that they have an inflexible policy of no refunds!
