My husband and I have been smoking these cigarettes for many years buying 60 a day but recently the quality of them has gone done. We both find when we smoke them they have a tendency to go out. We are finding this very annoying and looking for an alternative brand

Hi, I have had the same problem with my cigarettes. The address for Mayfair cigarettes is as follows:
Quality Department, PO Box 371, Weybridge, Surrey, KT13 0ZW. The address is folded out of sight underneath the top flap covering the top of the cigarettes. Jue

Helen Cooper: ur mate is right I called and they explained that there is a specific speed bump they called it that if you are not taking a drag on it at that point it will go out it is in with a new law passed by the government to stop household fires and it is every 3 in 4 ### in the pack that do it :)

I too find that mayfair cigarettes are constanly goin out they are also less stronger so therefore you are smoking more and i have also noticed that i am getting headaches from them too. Its a joke as price in pack cigs is constanly going up it would just be as well to change to a better brand who are not ripping people off as i cant seem to come up with a better explaination. There is nowhere to complain to mayfair themself. I think that people should get a refund for all the crappy cigs that they have bought from mayfair since its changed. I also do not by the rubbish they took something out for safty regulations its just a way of explaining the change made to the cigs so that you belive the bull. its just so you end up buying more from not getting a proper smoke from the cigs making them more money while in middle of recession. Just another way of scaming more money out of people as if the price increase of cigs aint bad enough. I defo switching cigarettes in future.

I smoke sterling menthol superkings and my partner smokes sterling smooth superkings we have never had any problems with them until a few weeks ago you light the cigarettes and after a few puffs they go out you end up lighting the cigrette more than you actually smoke of it its a disgrace with the amount of money you spend on a packet we should get a refund. Thanks treska my email address is treskandcaydy@hotmail.co.uk please can some one send me an email to explain

the cigs have had something new added to them to make them go out on their own and not burn peoples houses down when they tumble out of ashtrays etc, something to do with fire safety regulations? Very frustrating

"you don't see the government banning it completely because if they did they would loose so much money from the tax they put on cigarettes"

and you are proud of the fact the govt sees you as nothing more than a guranteed source of cash?

"look how many pubs have closed down because people can't smoke in them anymore"

In my city they banned smoking in public venues such as bars and restaraunts, and people were showing the same outrage using the same ridiculous argument you just used. And guess what? Now, nearly a decade later, they are doing just fine. Keep in mind one of the major reasons for the ban was not just for the customers, but for the employees. If you were a non-smoker and had to go to a smoke-filled job every day, wouldn't you want it to stop? Who would want to go to a job where you have a high chance of getting lung cancer?

and before you say, "well they should just get another job". That isn't the easiest thing to do these days.

"we don't force you to stand near us"

you are right, but you don't have to stand near a smoker to be in their smoke. It isn't as if smoke is confined to a small area only near the smoker, especially if its indoors. Again, why should your waitress have to be breathing in smoke for 8 hours/day every day if she doesn't want to.

Well well, thought there would be one person on here who objected to smokers, (jaberwocky), well don't you think that you none smokers have got mostly your own way with the big ban the government has imposed, but hey think of it this way, look how many pubs have closed down because people can't smoke in them anymore, not a thought was given to people's jobs and livelihoods was it, and what about years ago, there wasn't anything said then was there, just look at it this way all you none smokers with your big opinions, we don't force you to stand near us and why should we stop smoking if we don't want to, you don't see the government banning it completely because if they did they would loose so much money from the tax they put on cigarettes, so stop whining and leave us alone

Hi Jacquetta, I know that they are made by Gallagher but i'm trying to contact them too and can't seem to find any contact details, wonder if they know of the problem and don't want members of the public to get in touch with their complaints

it is nature's way of telling you to stop smoking because everyone around you is tired of having to smell your nasty second-hand smoke.
