Back in April, my First Equity Business Card was transferred over to Deetto (SST Card Services). I started sending payments to them as soon as I got the first statement and letter notifying me that they would take over the account. For the first 4 months, they claimed that I should mail my payment 2 weeks in advance because the post office can take up to two weeks to deliver something one state over. I repeatedly had to call (with my bank on the line) to prove when the checks were sent (since my bank was sending them out each month). It wasn't until the fourth month that our bank representative asked whether the address on file was correct. At that point, the SST rep said "We should have asked that the first time it happened." Turns out, the original address they asked us to send payment to was incorrect and 500 miles away from where it should have been going. The woman was threatening and rude, until she realized it was there fault and then suddenly she backed off.

The other day I wanted to check the balance on the card and called the customer service number on the back. The number was disconnected. Today, I received my most recent statement and called the number on the bill. I was then told that First Equity decided to decline the reissue of my card and my card is no good. When I asked if my account was closed, they said no. So it's not closed, but I can't use the card? She said that they don't close the account as a favor to me so that it doesn't report on my credit as a closed account. What's the difference if I can't use it? While it's open, they can increase my rate, charge me an annual fee and lord knows what else. They could give me no answers and told me they are "just a third party." When I asked for details on my account, she proceeded to tell me that they just handle this account for a bank and don't have any further details. I show that we owe $385 and they show that we owe $666 - there is something seriously wrong with this. Now that I read all of the other complaints, I'm questioning whether I should be paying them at all.

This post is exactly correct. I have had this SST/Deeto card for years. They are out of Columbus, GA, and you cannot find a number online to call. I have had this card set up thru my online checking account. They claim they are not direct deposited as most other financial institutions, and that their funds are sent thru the mail. So, thru the years at least 2x per year, they will call and say they didn't get the payment. Without looking at my account I authorize another payment on the account. Today, I get a call, and instead of authorizing an additional payment, I looked at my checking account to review the payments. Because I sent a payment out on the 1st of the month and they did not receive it by the 6th in a previous month, I was charged $35 late fee. So, I backed the payment date up to be sent out on the 30th of the month. Guess what they did with that, the applied it to my BALANCE because they received it before the due date, before the billing cycle was finished. THIS IS A SCAM! Why in the world would anyone continually send $50 more than the min. payment due, $98. 1 time every month and not intend it to be posted as a PAYMENT. I asked to talk to a supervisor, a man named "Shawn Mintz" came on the line with an attitude, the first thing he did was sigh at each letter as he spelled his last name, as if it was hurting him to speak. I asked for all my late payments to be removed because this is a SCAM, he was so rude, it was ridiculous. He raised his voice, and kept repeating himself, "that's just how it is, if we receive the payment early we put it toward the principal", and added, "that's just how it is, why don't you understand"... I asked to talk to his supervisor, he said her name was Mandy and she was not available until the end of next week. So, I asked for her supervisor; he said there is no way I could have her supervisor, nor for Mandy to call me when she returns, I would just have to deal with it. Knowing how hard it is to find a contact number for this company, which I'd tried online many times thru the years, he knew I had no where to go. They called from [protected].

I can not get a live person to save my life. I have call [protected] and [protected], all I get is recording. I am glad I have a $0 balance, this the worst card company I have problems with. I have Macys, Capital one, Lord and Taylor and I can always get customer service, not SST. Very poor company

I received no monthly statement from this credit card company. I didn't notice anything wrong until they starting calling. By that time, I had been assessed a late fee of $29. Consumers beware!

My account was transferred from providian to sst I was notified by providian about four months before i heard anything from sst yet sst applied several hundred dollars in late fees and penalties and refused to remove them. I am constantly receiving billing statements after the due dates and charged $ 39.00 late fees i tried to combat these charges by paying a month in advance which the person on the phone agreed to and posted it on the computer, after the due date sst continued to call my place of employment suggesting that i was late and she could only waive the charges if i repay a payment that i have already paid.

Their not available most of the time. I have to work today and when I get home my bill will be late when I pay it. I know I have had time to do it but that has nothing to do with it. They do not say when they will be down and it is a lot of times. Now I will have to pay late fees because I have to work till 2 and they are down now.

Ever since our Providian card was transfered to SST Card services, they never send a monthly statement or bill, then on the 31st or 32nd day they call and say we're past due and add all kinds of late fees and have raised the rate to the highest limit. After finally getting through to a real person I was told there is nothing they can do to help me, I'm liable for everything and will just have to live with it.

I had my Providian card sold to SST card services. Every month I pay my bill but the balance never goes down. I never can reach any one to talk to and I am told to call back later. I have been paying on this for ever and every month I am charged $29.99 and for what I am not for sure.

Is there a way to end this?

:( should be cut up and made into guitar picks, along with a few other I could easily recommend...this is among the worst of the worst I can think of, and I've dealt with some ### in my time, I've had people call me as early as 5 am, I've had a process server lurking outside on the street only to step up on my doorstep and serve me with a summons at 6 am in the morning (highly illegal) and I've had others who would call me at midnight and scream and yell obscenities at me~~~I have never been late with a bill with these people, ever, nor was I ever late with Washington Mutual, who sold them the account ~~ Washington Mutual closed my checking account after making several errors in their favor, and charging me fees that continued to pile up, and I continued to collect checks for three years after the account was closed and the credit card was sold to SST~~but never a letter of apology, never a penny of interest paid to me for Washington Mutual's errors that cost me money, and to add insult to injury, I've paid more money now in interest (compounded now, by way of the "snowball effect" since interest is compounded daily~~if you take business calculus, or any math whatsoever, you understand this.) This is a freaking Kangaroo court, banks rob women, the poor, the disabled and minorities, its a fact, look it up.

I agree with the Jan 30, 2014 complaint. My VISA credit card account with SST was recently closed without warning after 4 months of having a zero balance. I'm very disappointed that SST won't reinstate my account because I had an $11, 000 line of credit at a reasonable 12% APR. If only they had let me know, I would gladly have used the card more often in order to keep the account open. I was a good customer, so it's their loss.

I maintained my Deetto / SST account perfectly and never incurred any additional charges. As soon as my balance was paid off (well ahead of schedule) my account was closed "due to inactivity". In other words, they weren't making enough money off me. Their phone rep said there is no way to reinstate the card.

All's I can say is I agree 100% and had the worse time ever with them getting transfered around, getting disconnected numbers and so on. I had to leave messages at least 3+ times per week to get anywhere and still it was a pain in the A%%. I paid it off which was a balance of aprox 3000.00.
Now this is a long story short.

Worst credit card company ever.. Horrible customer service. Outrageous finance charges and they are not willing to work with their customers. Their staff is rude and condescending, they never return phone calls and they rip you off every chance they get. If you have this card, transfer it now and never go back.

My card was sold to this company 2 years ago. I haven't had any problems with them at all. I pay my bill on time every month and while my interest is high, I know why it is. I don't like that my card got sold to this company, however, I know why it was. I didn't pay my bill with Washington Mutual (the original card account) and they didn't want me to ruin their bank credit rating.

I just paid off my bill online and it was credited just fine. I think a lot of blame has to be put upon the consumer, not just the company. I accept the blame and have worked hard to correct my error. Maybe you should do the same.

This is to all of the credit card holders that are with SST. You think SST had bad customer relations wait until NCO takes over in March. Then you will have problems. Maybe dealing with SST was'nt so bad huh?Good Luck to all.

I agree I can't seem to ever catch up with the billing, and they call even before the payment is due, to tell me that the account is payable now. When I question them they say they just want me to make sure my credit doesn't get reported.

Oh, I was shocked when I was trying to find the website to go on and check my account and found all of the complaints. I thought I was the only one..

Since washington mutual sold my account to sst, i have been having nothing but trouble. I never receive my statement on time and when i do get it i owe an overdue amount. They sold my account without me even knowing and when i call i get please call back later. I am so tired of this service. I can never get into my service online and i have had nothing but trouble from day one. I try to keep all of my account in order but sst makes it almost impossible for me to do that. Who ever is running this company should get together or close down the entire company. Do i have any action i can take ads a costumer because they should not be able to switch my account at their will.

If a credit card company sells your account to a loan servicing company, more than likely you are late a lot and it's a close account. You are high risk and they cut their loses. The problem was caused by how you handle your bills.

I also had my Profvidian card sold to SST. Recently I had my purse stolen and I called to report it and they told me they would send me a new card. I had not received it so I called to see what was going on. The lady said (in a poor tone) that I closed my account and that she could not discuss the account. I just wanted to make sure that they had not sent out a new card and I never received it. They said the account is closed, so I hope there will be no further issues with them. Thank goodness I did not have a large balance on this card and will be able to pay it off quickly and be done dealing with them. I only have one other card and I have had no problems dealing with the other card company. Especially after reading these other complaints I am glad that I discontinued doing business with them and I would strongly urge others to do the same.

I have been making my payments monthly and always over the minimum, then last month I didn't get a bill. This week SST called me , wanted a payment and disappeared when I said "No not until the next week" when my SS check came in. Now I can't find a way to get in touch with me.

I had a Profvidian account with a very small balance and made timely payments high than the required payments. Providian sold my account to SST and the nightmare began. I didn't even know my account had been sold. I never received any notice from Providian or SST. I didn't even receive a new card. I went out to dinner and tried to pay my bill and was told my card was declined. When I called the find out why they told me that they (Providian had sold my account to SST.

So I called SST to get information and they would not talk to me because I could not tell them my account number. How could I tell them my account number if they did not send me a card? It went on and on. Then they told me that they were going to charge me a late charge if I did not make a payment over the phone for a $15 charge. I said I would make the payment if they would waive the $15 charge. They said no and then refused to take my payment because I did not know my account number with them.

So I went back to Providian and insisted that they let me make my payment to them and they should send it to SST which Providian did but they said they would only do it this one time. Now I have a bill from SST with an account number on it and I tried to pay off the balance online and it says that it does not recognize my account number. This company is the worst I have ever had to deal with. I think they are doing illegal things, but I am not a lawyer and I do not know how to stop them. I also do not know how to pay my balance and I do not want this account. I demanded that they close my account and I think they did, but I can't be sure. Oh and they doubled my finance rate , it was 7%, but now it's 16.74%.

This company has the worst attitude toward customers they do not care about anything else but money and treating people like trash. They are never at fault but it is alway the customers fault. I would advice anyone who has an account them to close before this company takes you for ride.
