This website is ###. To message ANYONE you need to spend $1.
Then for them to view your message they have to pay a minimum of 30€ a month..
For you to be able to message them again YOU have to pay the minimum of 30€ a month.

You can't even blood view people who've viewed you without paying 30€ a month.

The friend requests and such feel completely fake, and the matches they make are fake.

If someone messages you, you can't click on their name or anything else without being asked to pay.
If you click on the link that goes exactly to their profile it ends up just redirecting you to the homepage (because they block you from being able to message the same person twice without paying)

I've never found a worse dating site ever. Even adultfriendfinder is better than this.
Utterly horrible, looks like it was made in MSpaint.

The only GOOD thing is that they allow you to put contact info, like email and skype etc. in your 'about me' so if someone is REALLY interested with you, and you don't want to pay they can email you or add you to skype and bypass all the bs.

He is completely correct on this I wish I would have read the reviews first. This site is a huge scam. They have hot girls say they want to speed date with you, But wait as a new member you get this one free. but they girls never talk or even say hi. Even when you sign up same thing. Also the website crashes on me where it stops loading. At least ill have the last laugh. I used a credit card that has no funds on it and never will because its my flex health spending account from my last job. So I don't work there anymore. Its been at least 2 months not having the insurance and having the job. But this site sent me I copied and pasted.

Subscription Confirmation
Thank you for purchasing a subscription to SpeedDate.com on 05/03/2012.Your payment has been processed 191.40 for your new 12 Month membership. Unless you cancel before the end of the term by calling [protected] Monday through Friday, 7AM until 5PM Pacific Time Zone (GMT-8) (excepting major U.S. holidays) or by logging into your Premium Account and modifying the Account Status within Your Profile's Account Settings, your card will be automatically charged on a recurring basis based on the term you agreed to and at the rate then in effect. Payments for unused portions of a subscription will not be refunded.

Now I went to my account settings and I cant make a change to cancel my membership. whats really messed up is before I entered the credit card info I could make changes to my account and even cancel my membership. Because I was offered a complimentary month, HAHAH which doesn't work anyway. If it did you would only speak with Bots/Fake users anyway. So Please stay away from the site even the .99 cents to get you verified does nothing for you.

THEY DID THE SAME ### TO ME! One of the options to get a paid subscription to their site after I joined was a subscription for $15.95. Well when I chose that option, it turned out that they charged me $15.95 TIMES 12! Needless to say after I saw that over $191.00 was drafted from my account, I was PISSED! Yeah, I called up their customer service and they told me it was in the fine print and they do not give refunds for first time subscriptions. Needless to say, I got sscammed BIG time! I wouldn't recommend this site to my worst enemy. Stay away from them! It's a scam!

SpeedDate unauthorized bankcharges

On the 21st, of Feburary 2011, I went on the speeddate site to cancel my subscription. I then find that on 03-01-2011, I find that I had been charged for another month of service to my bank account. I then call the toll free number to find out why I was still charged for the subscription, and was told that there was no contact made in cancelling my subscription. However the billing representative could see that I had explained to her that I had been on the site the day of the 21st of Feb. to cancelling, but accidentally turning off the incoming e-mail's. I again attempted to explain that this situation was truly a mistake, and that if she could plainly see that I had quoted when I first called " that I had tried to cancell my subscription on that day in question ". Nevertheless I am told that the charges are non-refundable. I requested to speak with a supervisor, and was told that " I could not ", but I could "WRITE" my concerns to a supervisor.
At this point I asked the necessary question's to do just that, from a woman named, Darnell employee #141654, and proceeded to file this complaint to the site, but no avail there was no where to that. So here is my complaint.
I would like to know how the company knowing that you've attempted to cancel appropriately can still keep your money, without good justification, when the charge in question is being questioned on the same morning the funds where taken out ( 05:- - ) and I had to wait for there offices to open, to call approximately about ( 1:45pm )
after taking care of other bills.
I am a disbaled veteran, on a limited income so I try to keep a very close watch on my funds, and my spending, so when I see that I am still being charged for a service that I no longer wanted, of course I am going to do what I can to account for every fee.

[protected]@yahoo.com
P.S. If you have found a solution for this company's wrong-doing's, please if you will enlighten me to it please.

I had met John 54 Bronx New York on your site. We spoke on Yahoo.com His name on that site is hiskettpp@yahoo.com He sounded so perfect & I wanted it to be real. But all he kept asking for was an ITUNE card so he can talk to me on the phone. I spent $100 in total then he asked me to sent him money to PA for his daughter. $500.00 I said I would ask my brother for the money. He got angry and said I had it in the bank why don't I just get it out and send it. He's called me from 3 different numbers...[protected], [protected], [protected], all in different parts of New York I found out. He has my address my home phone, my cell phone numbers. I am disabled and very scared now. What do I do now to protect myself from what else he is capable of doing to me or finding more out about me ? He sent me flowers... The card says its from myfloralplace.com Please help me I'm scared. And now I don't want to go on your site because he may come on as another person. Another man did the same almost to me but I blocked him. My home phone number is [protected] call me ASAP please. Thank you, Debbie

I never agreed to an auto charge. It was to be a one month one time deal. I DO NOT DO auto charges or auto renew. This is why I prefer paypal. I am able to catch crap like his.
So I cancelled the debit card and am refuting the charge from this questionable company. Little side note. Suddenly three charges show up in Quatar, yes you read riight Quater the Middle Eatern Country. Someone used my Debit Card info to purchase three Voda phone somethings for 141.36 bucks each. I would guess it had to do with somone who works at Speeddate my best guess as I rarely use this card.

SpeedDate If you like any control over your dating experience, including when to start it, steer clear from this site

OMG THE most annoying website, bar none! I don't know if it's just because I'm too far on the introvert scale but I can't stand this. Any time you sign on to do anything, it a.) throws you right into the middle of a speed date and b.), won't let you cancel. There's a popup saying that it will let you cancel, but if any of the alleged cancellation links work I couldn't find them, and the largest button is, of course, "Find me another speed date!" They shoved me into a speed date when I had merely clicked the link to alter my email preferences and hadn't even signed in. Speed is one thing, this is ridiculous. If you like ANY control over your dating experience, including when to start it, steer clear from this site!

Anyhow, lesson learned $$$$... If I can stop even one person from that scam, then it's worth it... I got totally scammed; and you will to if you give one dime to that website!

SpeedDate False or misleading representation

SpeedDate.com, Inc. purchase process was so blatantly misleading that upon clicking on the Paypal link seller’s form disappeared and I was automatically led to seller’s main web page. I was not lead to a Paypal page and I did not give Paypal the permission to pay the seller nor did I agree to complete the transaction. The seller simply took the amount of money you wanted without my permission.

The price displayed on was 15.00 a month. I agreed to try for a monthy Then my paypal account was charged 191.40.

Well before you pay, you can see the final amount, So it is your mistake not to check properly before clicking "Pay Now" . It is possible by any site and also you might have selected yearly subscription and lost your mind control looking at the photos of the girls there and excited to sign up to know them.

SpeedDate subscription

speeddate is such a scam, will not refund the money they took from my acct.i went too their web site and accidenyly hit the subscribe button my mistake, called the following day and was told by a person named Gene that all they could refund was $30. from the $191. i was charged. i tried very hard too reason with him and he even acknowleged that it was a mistake on my part that SD would not do a complete refund. This was very disappointing and will change my debit card # so that they can not get more from my acct. i will tell others online about this and warn any person that SD is very bad...

I had the same issues. At once, I cancelled with them and forwarded complaint with the BBB. They're bunch of con artists and just don't listen to your complaints. The problem is really with the BBB, who seem to endorse this kind of behavior and did absolutely nothing with the complaint. In fact, the BBB reps states that they never received the complain email and went on to support these unethical businesses looting the consumers of thousands of dollars. Anyway, the rep used a parallel that was very shocking. She says, lots of email get lost that she sends to her family members and they don't complain...What's really frightening is BBB has given them a report and accolades that Mother Theresa (god rest her soul) would have difficult to compete. This is just another unethical business being supported by the BBB. They both should be tar and feathered - consumer capitalist of the Worst Kind.

Speed date should be removed from the internet. it is nothing more than a bunch of scam artists.
I was luck enough to get aggravated at all there pop ups to get u yo to pay this $0.50 thing to get your photo in place, while completing their questionnaire, that I quit their site and started doing some research. finding that all of you and others are getting taken by their computer scheme.

Speeddate is a criminal fraud conspiracy. In my case I clicked on the feedback button that took my personal & CC info off my computer and STOLE $191.40 from my account. In spite of all my complaints, they refuse to refund my money.
How is it that it's legal for corporations to defraud American today. The system we pay for protects the criminal corporations.

I had the same thing happen to me that is happening to everybody. I agree to a 0.50 cents initial credit card check and then I see it is only $15.00 per month and think, what do I have to lose. Let's try it for a month. Then my credit card company's fraud department calls me and asks me if I allowed a charge of $191.40 for a dating service. At first I tell them that I never used my credit card for that purchase, but when they say, "the charge if for speeddating.com", I have to confess that I did visit that site, but I never agreed to that amount anywhere in my signing up. Then my credit card company tells me that I have to take it up with Speed Date COM and request my money back through them. So I have tried several times and not luck so far. I am filing a claim with BBB (Better Business Bureau). From there I will decide to take them to small claims court, depending on the outcome. I smell a class action lawsuit in the near future.

They are bate and switch artists.

They think they can obfuscate their banter as legal lawyers do.

This is the same strategies that politions use when they try to pass a 1000 page bill that nobody can read.

Speak out and file your claim. Wait for the outcome and if it is not in your favor, take them to small claims court!

Stand up for your right and practice your rights!

The next step is to file a class action law suit against this Ivy League scammers and get them closed down.

Many (if not all) social networking sites give their members/visitors the option to invite friends -- from their addressbook -- to join their services. This is a common business practice and entirely legit. It require that you (the visitor/member) provide the service both your email address (they otherwise don't know you) and the password to that email account. No one's cracking into your email without your permission. More likely, you wanted to check out the service, filled in the fields presented (to look for your friends) without paying attention to the permission you were giving.

SpeedDate SCAM billing did not subscribe to it

I did not subscribe to Speeddate.com. I have received my bank statement and have a charge on my checking account for a total of $65.97 on 7/07/10. I have incurred NSF of $36.00 and $10.00 overdraft fee as well. I did the 3 day trial for the .99 cents/day. Legally I do owe the $2.97 on (7/06/10) + $.99 (7/08/10) = $3.96. However, I was billed for 65.97 on 7/07/10, if I had subscribed, why would I do the .99 cent charge on 7/08/10. I am going to take legal action for this to be refunded to my checking account. I spoke a representative named Rochell who stated that if I did not cancel this, then after 3 days, it would automatically charge my account. I did not agree to this and will go to the new's, post oll over the internet, and speak with my attorney. Speeddate.com is nothing but a scam and stealing from innocent people is wrong.

SpeedDate promised that I could
have a trial membership
for only 99 cents with absolutely no further obligation. When I authorized 99 cents for a trial membership, they automatically charged me for $155 and some cents. I didn't know about the charge for $155 until my ATM debit card was refused and I had no money or gas to go to work.

I have been wrangling with my bank to get the money back, but SpeedDate has crooked lawyers that sent fraudulent paperwork to my bank claiming that the charge was legal.

I live near one of the largest FBI offices in America and I am going to pursue criminal fraud charges against the company, it's principals and it's crooked attorneys. I suggest that everyone who has been ripped off by SpeedDate visit the FBI and forget about the BBB which is a corporate sham.

I agree with all of the above. The point is that in their terms and conditions that there is a non-refund policy. However this just makes them to not ever be at fault, even when it comes to their own billing "mistakes". I think this is the worst company in terms of all the speed dating associated apps. They can justify having bots, and for all these billing mistakes across the web. I'm gonna see if their terms and conditions hold up in court when their service has been crap. I think false advertising should in itself deserve a refund.

@skepticalsally
The days of fine print should be long gone. The customer should not have to read a lengthy terms of service before using the free features of a site. This is clearly a bad billing practice at the least. This is the only dating site I have come across that bills automatically that you use their service with no warning. If you pay the $3.95 for a security verification and then try their chat system which they offer freely, you automatically get billed $165+. In my country by law there has to be clear and obvious marking of prices and purchase conditions, and all on line companies have to comply with the same. You only need to compare the site with that of Zoosk and RSVP and other legitimate dating sites: they do not bill you until you volunteer the funds explicitly and have been notified that you are about to spend money. Any on-line company that does not do this clearly deserves the label 'scam' and should be prosecuted for illegal billing practices and false advertising at the minimum. I suppose you are an investor or related to the owners :)

Yes speeddate is a ripoff. Contact your bank immediately if you used a check or debit card. I was able to get all my money back through the bank. How they rip you off is by getting your financial information first and then after you pick the plan and then it defaults to the most expensive plan! ...your financial institution or credit card company should be able to help you... Best of luck to all...

addendum to prior post: The only solution short of not having my debit card for a week (or more) is to call back and ...very...nicely...ask...that they ...please...stop charging my account---which is what I just did. This time I spoke to a Richard and he was "happy to cancel my 'subscription' ". My "subscription"...? Ughh.
So, there it is. The quick and dirty way to end it but this is how they make their money, off of people like ME who are disabled and tired and sick and unable to go through the extended mental battle with them. DON'T be like ME.

The exact same thing has happened to ME. I just looked very thoroughly through my last 3 months Bank statements and they've charged me misc. fees for WHAT? The site that referred me to them (for points) was www.mypoints.com, which I've used for many years. MyPoints.com has my credit card/debit card info but am I supposed to believe that THEY gave...my # to SpeedDate?
I was argued with and even patronized by the rep at speeddate.com just now when I called demanding my money be refunded. NOPE. AND, they said there is no way they would've charged me if I had not SIGNED UP. Well, I DID NOT sign up for any SPEED DATING. I merely went to this site to gain points for visiting it as I do many sites and I 've never had my financial records compromised before from this hobby with mypoints.com.
So now I have to call the bank...get a NEW debit card...UGHHHHH...and fill out all of the bank forms for, yes, a mere $5 or -$7 BUT that adds up and the bank can just get my money back.
SPEED DATE IS A CYBER CRIMINAL AND they're bullies to beat.

Before you waste your time... For any service or website like that, you have to agree to the terms and conditions. Likely, the terms and conditions stated that after 3 days on the site you would be charged the $65.97 if you did not opt out of the service (Remember Columbia House Records anyone?) You are wasting your time bringing legal action against them; just learn your lesson and read the T+C.

SpeedDate identity theft

Be careful who you meet on speeddate.com There are plenty of young girls or pretending to be girls asking you to join a webcam site. Then they use your info to charge you card. They steal your identity etc.. Here are some names that i caught. HayleyCole 21 years old, Barbara02 23 years old. Just watch out for the young cute ones. Ask if they are cam girls and if they don't answer than most likely they are.

I think it is a scam. They said they were billing for one month, but then charged me for one year.

When I told SpeedDate that I was willing to pay for one month, but I'd like a refund for 11 months, they told me that THEIR POLICY DOES DOES NOT ALLOW REFUNDS! So, I filed a complaint with the FCC on 12/15/10. Let's see what the FCC HAS TO SAY! EVERYONE WHO HAS A COMPLAINT AGAINST SPEEDDATE MUST FILE A CLAIM WITH THE FCC.

The Speeddate website is committing FRAUD! You THINK you're paying for a one-month subscription, BUT THESE CROOKS ARE MAKING YOU PAY FOR 12 MONTHS IN ADVANCE! I DON'T PAY ANYONE 12 MONTHS IN ADVANCE! YOU'D HAVE TO BE INSANE TO DO THAT!

YOU NEED TO FILE A CLAIM WITH THE FCC WHICH I ALREADY HAVE DONE.

Has anyone had any contact with a person by the name of Curtis E. Iverson, West Hollywood, CA. According to his emails he is now in Africa trying to get some gold bars for resale. He has lost his phone, wants me to replace it with one that cost $700+ and clothes that would cost an additional $500+.
If he is not a fraud then we are all safe.
According to my look up on his email address his name is Michael Garcia.
Please advise if you have been contacted by either of these people. Don't send money. Just losers.

Here's my issue with this site. This site allows people to lie about where they're from. I must've met like 15 women, all of whom are apparently from Russia, yet they all give a certain American city as their location. When I confronted each of these women, each of them have said that they weren't allowed to post the city where they're really from. How can any legit dating site allow all these women to lie about who they are and where they're from? Are all these women on this site from Russia? If so, they should call this site Russian Speed Date.com, instead of just Speed Date.com

He is HOW they get you to subscribe: They say 312 or so "is interested" in you. And you think "wow, I shoud join!, everybody like me" and they send you winks from a cute girl or guy, and then you join. One gilr winked at me and I was interested. Found her on Facebook by searching her name and city. Found the exact girl, same two pics and I sent her a friends request. Check the status and her profile had been deleted. SCAM

I got ripped by them too just recently. Got hooked via the "verify" trick...for 99c u verify yourself and somehow mysteriously it automatically converts to a years subscribtion for about $191.00...out and out theft...no ifs, ands, or buts...and guess what? Your bank (at least my bank, First Hawaiian) will do nothing about it...They honor it and dismiss your claim...no escape from prisonplanet...

i am just looking for a special man to be there for me..when i get back i would like us to hang out and know more about each other..But i am worried right now because the seminar had already been concluded but something happened thats causing delays on my flight back, What happened is that when i tried to reschedule my flight, the airline agent told me that i don’t have enough funds on my debit card, so i had to contact my bank since i knew the funds i left there and when the reports came i was told that i purchased some phones which i never did, Now the airline agent is insisting i gets the remaining funds before my flight can be scheduled, so sorry this happened before we met. i called my bank that issued the card and all they told me was that someone must have hacked my card and an identity theft was placed on my card and the investigation would be on when i get back, it shouldn’t take more than 2days to refund my money but i have to be home, i have already used the remaining cash i have to settle the hotel bills and pay a deposit with the airline agent ..i have less than $10 with me here and i have to pay a balance of $650 to the airline agent so they can book me on a next flight out if i can get some help in anyway even if its a short loan, i will refund it ..just to get my account reactivated..i cant get stuck out here..its too risky for me, if you would be able to help me out on this i will forever be grateful and you will never be disappointed even if its important i have to refund it and i swear on my late fathers Grave never to let you down..when i have the flight fully booked if you help me out i will send you a copy of the flight details so you will know the exact time the plane lands in the states and i will appreciate if you could come pick me up at the airport when i arrive .
