Sobakawa Cloud Pillow Fraudulent Charges

Starting A Class Action Lawsuit Against Soba Kaw I am putting together a class action lawsuit against Sobakawa Cloud Pillow & National Express. (the Company that handles their ordering & shipping). I called from an info-commercial and ordered 2 pillows for $19.99, it was an automated ordering process. At the end of the call they said my total was $175 and thanked me and hung up. I had no way to cancel my order or to confirm/deny the total. I looked online and found multiple threads with 100's of people who had experienced the same thing. If you have had this happen to you please contact me with your story. [protected]@hortongroup.com. I still as of this date haven not received my money back and I've rejected the 7 boxes of pillows that were sent to my house. Every time I have contacted the company they have told me there is nothing they can do. This has to stop.

Sobakawa Cloud Pillow Pillow Changed from firm to soft

This pillow was a gift to me which I enjoyed immensely for the past year. I particularly liked the firmness and softness that happened when the cover was put on. However, the past month I noticed a big change. The consistency has changed to ALL SOFT even with the cover on. I have never used it without the cover as instructions directed. The beads however, seem to be floating around. It doesn't contour to my head as it used to do.
Is this expected to happen after some time of use? I don't see any information on the packing box to show a warranty or a limited lifetime. At this point, I just want to discard it but there is information on the box a to the dangers of fire and fumes but no indication as to how to discard it. Please advise. Sobakawa Cloud Pillow Incorrect Order Charges and POOR QUALITY

The same exact thing happened to me. They charged me $105 after I order one 19.99 pillow (get one free with that) then the system ordered me a 29.99 large pillow and shipped it to me. Their auto order system is Bull**** and didn't ask me to confirm order balance before processing. The pillows were nothing like what you see on tv and they claim they have a complete moneyback guarantee but they only gave me $50 back when I sent them back b/c they were a joke and poor quality AND I didn't even order the third pillow. It cost me $27 on my own dime to ship them back so overall I am out $70 for nothing!

Sobakawa Cloud Pillow Illegal / unethical business practices.

I purchased two Sobakawa Pillows from their "buythepillow.com" website. I used a Mastercard to pay. Since then, I have been getting 4-5 calls a day wanting to send me coupons if I agree to additional charges on my Mastercard to the tune of $29.95/month. After declining the offer numerous times, the callers continue to try to force the unwanted products on the pillow buyer. I suspect this firm has sold/given my name, address, phone, and credit card information to telemarketers. If I had it to do again, I would not buy the pillows.

Sobakawa Cloud Pillow ill fitting pillow case

My daughter bought me the Sobakawa Cloud Pillow locally for Christmas and it looked like "a good night's sleep", however, when you put the "must use" pillow case on the pillow it compromises the very nature of the pillow. It was like sleeping on a rock, the pillow case is too constricting for the micro-beads to move around like they should. The complete package just went back to the store. Whoever designed this "must use" pillow case for the Sobakawa Cloud Pillow obviously didn't know what they were doing. The pillow case is too small to fit the pillow properly! What a joke and disappointment! And guess what, I visited the Sobakawa official website, and they conveniently do not have any way of registering a complaint directly with the company.

Sobakawa Cloud Pillow phone call scam

got a phone call after i purchased the pillow on line with my credit card. was then transferred to a fast-talking person, whom i couldn't keep up with. was just so glad to get of the line with her...soon i was getting all these charges on my credit card that i didn't authorize. ...eventually my credit card company card company called me about them and had them erased and issued me a new credit card number...please, please don't be taken in by this company like i was.

By the way, do you have the phone number of that scammer? Could be the same person who called me. I reported that scam at http://www.callercenter.com and guess what? After 2 days, I got 5 responses to my post from people who got similar calls and were almost scammed.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble. I know how you feel, I've been there. Got my credit card stolen once, too. And before I knew it, I got a lot of charges on it already. And disputing is something I don't really like. Frustrating process.

Sobakawa Cloud Pillow unauthorized charges

I called the telephone number on the television. All I wanted to buy was 2 king size pillows. It was an automated line & I kept responding negative to the prompts. I called back & discovered that they had charged over $333.00 to my credit card. I told them to cancel the order, but they said that it had already been shipped. I also called my credit card company & the charge was already on my account. I received another call stating that my order had not been completed. I stated again that I wanted to cancel the complete order. First they tell me that it has already shipped, then they want more information. My credit card company told me to refuse the shipment, but the charges would remain on my credit card until the items were returned. I don't know if they are coming or not & can't seem to find out what the status is. I went to their website & it simply stated that my order was being processed. It appears that I can't find out anything from this company! Buyer beware!

My husband watched the commercial and called the number to order. 1 pillow with a free pillow case for 19.99 and if u order now you get a 2nd pillow for free with a pillow case..+ shipping and handling...he went through all the prompts and said no to all the extras..at the end after giving cc info automated system says our total charge was 63.83. We immediately went on line to find a customer service number to speak with someone.ironically there is no number and the charge has gone through our acct..total scam and we fell for.it. Buyer beware..

I so wish I had reviewed this site prior to ordering my pillow. I called the 800 number and place an order for 1 pillow for $19.99+ a free pillow. I selected all the prompts to decline any additional pillow. To my amazement at the end of the order I was charged $91.00. I called back to speak to a live representative however there were none available. I jumped on the website to try to locate a telephone number for someone to speak to. Unfortunately they do not have customer service department that is there that can truly assist you. I called National Express which is the ordering location # 866.434.6600 billing dept # 800.554.5925. There I was advised my order was not in the system. They could not provide any additional information that would assist me.

This is a scam, I am so pissed!

Sobakawa Cloud Pillow Overcharge and 2nd order without permission

I ordered a pillow with free pillow back in July 15 and got my pillow at the post office later. For some reason they sent me another one and charge me again august 12. I never ordered it again so I went online and saw other people have been screwed over too. They don't have a number online but my bank gave me one. It is [protected]. Complain about the Sobakawa pillow. I hope this helps you people. For me they told me to return the package and they better return my money.

I just got off the phone and I also thought 26.00 for two pillows would be ok. Then at the end of the automated call they said my total was 149.00! No number to call and no way to speak with a real operator. Stay clear this company is a rip off. Now I have to spend the morning disputing the bill!

Sobakawa Cloud Pillow TV/Phone/Credit Card Scam

Unfortunately I jumped the gun before using Google and reading what everyone has said about this scam. But I am really in desperate need of a good pillow. And I figured 20 bucks for 2 pillows plus 8 bucks for s&h, what the hell. They certainly have a good scam going here. Right at the very end of the automated phone order, they confirmed that my total was almost 200 bucks and the call quickly disconnected. I don't know the exact amount because it happened so fast. But the last laugh is on them. Apparently their headquarters is right around the corner from where I live, literally. I plan on going there tomorrow and giving them hell! And if they're not there, you can believe I am going to whatever agency regulates scammers like this. After I get out of there with a full refund or 2 pillows, I'll let you guys know how it went and what these people, if there even are any, are really like in person.

Sobakawa Cloud Pillow over charged

Ordered the cloud pillow this morning, as seen on tv. 19.99 +7.95 shipping. another one free for 7.95 shipping. Total should had been 35.89. I was told the charge was 63.85. There is no phone number on their web site. Had to go through many avenues to get the one I put in above.

The phone number to call to change the order if it's incorrect is [protected]. I placed the order 2 days ago and was told by the automated system that i was being charged 63.83 instead of the 32.89. Once my order was in the system I called the number above and they were able to correct my order prior to my card being charged. I suggest calling them and getting your refunds if they have already charged you or getting your order corrected.

I ordered this pillow as well and was also charged for an additional pillow that i did not authorize. when checking the status of the order i found a link to cancel. I cancelled the order but I'm not sure if they will cancel it because obviously this is a very shady company. I now have to monitor my account and make sure it is not charged and if it is i will have to dispute the charges. What hassle all because some companies cant be honest.

You are absolutely right. There is no way to contact them until after the funds are withdrawn from your Bank Account/Credit Card. The link (that is suppose to allow you to contact the company) that is on the email "order notification, " doesn't send your message to a person. You receive a response a couple days later saying that you have to go through various channels to get ahold of anyone. It is impossible to get through because they don't give you an order number when they send you the email. The Company is a scam, and the products are toxic and leach a strong chemical odor that doesn't go away and left me with a migraine for 5 days. The micro air beads are made from a petroleum product that is very toxic. The label on the product explains how toxic the product is. Too bad they don't let you know what the air beads are made of prior to ordering the product. Anyone, who hasn't received the product should be thankful not to be exposed to the fumes. It is wrong that the company misrepresents the product and has shaddy business practices that prey on people who are attracted to the payment plan or the promises of the experience of "sleeping on a cloud of comfort." The product doesn't deliver what it promises, and it cost me $195.00 for this 90-day free trial period. Yes, you also have to pay to ship the product back. It is over $100.00 from where I live in USA.

I called a number advertising a pillow w/freepillow case & by ordering they through in second pillow w case for $19.99 plys s.h. for 7.95 at the end of my order after giving my credid card they sais my total due was over $250.00 i didnt catch the exact amount after being shocked . I cant get a hold of a live person to cx. my order. So I m going to call my credit card & cx. payment. I ordered the Side Socket buy 1 for 9.99 and they give another just pay shipping n handling, that wasn't a problem, the problem i did have is after i placed my order then they asked if i wanted to upgrade i chose not to n then it kept giving me these different offers for different products i said "No thanks" to all of them..when i finally get through all of that they let me know my order has being processed..Cool..Not so fast..I go to my e-mail and i have a paper that says my order is being processed but it's for the upgrade which is like $30 and s&h is like 12.50 add tax and i'm looking like almost $50 for something that originally started off as $10, so I'm like another poster..If u can't get it out the store or a reputable website (meaning one u've dealt with previously) DON'T BUY IT!

I now have over 6 different phone #'s to call to supposedly resolve the problem with my order and still haven't had any luck! A simple call to place 1 order is now turning into hours on hold with computers or rude people, like I have nothing else to do! Never again, if I can't find it in a store then I don't want it! BEWARE EVERYONE:Those tv commercials are designed to confuse and manipulate you, just ignore them!

The exact same thing happened to me! I too also decided it was just what I needed to prove to myself why not to order stuff off tv ads! This is so frustrating and is really disgusting they can get away with this kind of scam! I bet when I do receive my pillow it will not be as good as they say! When I did finally get to talk to a real person, they were very rude and not helpful at all and for what it was worth I told them what I thought of their company and they didn't care at all!

I agree Kathleen, I had the worse experience with that company. Never received any refund amount they promised although I paid to have everything shipped back. It has been several months so I am not expecting any at this point. It is a total scam. We are only a few who actually made the effort to complain. I know personally of another person that just had to keep the product they are not able to use as they could not afford to ship it back. I question if Art is the gentleman's real name. It does not seem like he was very helpful as you still had to pay a ridiculous amount to receive absolutely nothing useful. I hope you have better luck in getting compensated for your lost funds.

Here is the number [protected]. After many calls things are still not resolved although i just spoke wit a gentleman named Art and he was very helpful. My order came to a whopping 275.57! Once you give your card number to them you are screwed. And that 7.95 s&h is a joke. My first call I was told that it was actually 75.00! It cost me 41.00 to send everything back. That makes no sense. Then today I am told by Art that it's actually 69.00 and it is just a charge!

Yes, I agree. That company preys on people who have sleep/pain problems. Even the infomercial is on in the middle of the night. I was never reimbursed for the additional pillow order I didn't place as the Customer Service Representative said I would be. They overcharged me as well. Certainly charged more than they said they were going to. Even the Return Receipt says at the top Free 90-day money back guarantee. Then in very small print it says, except shipping charges. No where was I warned of the high cost of shipment prior to making my purchase. As I am on a limited income due to illness, I was attracted to the extended payment option. Another reason I believe they prey on people who can least afford to pay money out for something they can't use and many have no resources to go after them. Thank you for posting. I had printed out all the information from the website and my documentation to send to the Better Business Bureau and another complaint to the Department responsible for approval of products in the USA as I believe this product, with the air beads, is very toxic. They don't tell you that either until you get the product and read the attached label. I was so stressed and exhausted I hadn't sent anything in yet. But now I will as maybe other people will not fall for this scam.

This company is a total scam. If people don't post complaints the issues won't be resolved. I had the same problems and more with this company overcharging, placing unauthorized orders, etc. They are also hard to get ahold of. I was on hold and disconnected several times before I reached a Customer Service Rep. She was less than helpful, but did agree to reimburse me for the purchase I had not made. I am still waiting.

guys the # you can call is [protected] I just called for mine, and they seem to have it fixed, the will tell you that their system is down, which is another scam by it self, and this company is called Nation Express, so they will also put you on a long hold, but if you want your Total adjusted I would suggest you wait for the call.

Sobakawa Cloud Pillow overcharged

THey had a machine that took your order and I wanted 2 pillows for $20 and after I gave my credit card info they said my bill was $96 and hung up. There was nothing I could do to change it and when I went to the website you can't call them or see your order to change it or anything. I should've known not to deal with a machine, it was too weird. Then I saw alot of other complaints saying this company ripped them off too. I will head to the bank tomorrow to do a stop payment

I orderd 1 sobakawa pillow on the phone, and they said my total amount that i owed, I t was the price for double or other things I did not order.I went on line to check my order and to correct the order, I could not, or even call them.

the best thing to do is cancel your credit card right away.
and get a new one. they are no where and I have traced them.
and do it right away and always check the product comments before you order.
Do not order if you don't have information about them.

all the above has happened to us also, it seems they should be arrested and put in jail for hurting people. they must not work for a living, and go around taking others money, maybe we should all go somewhere and buy these pillows(walmart has the one for the 20 dollars) and then we can sell them for 130 and make our living like that. these people should be in jail. they are liars and whats being done to protect us. i will NEVER order off TV again as long as i live. Thank you

I agree with all of your folks! We ordered just the one pillow and the free one and then they hit us with a DOUBLE price then said thank you and hung up.. No phone number, No nothing. We called and had our Credit Card stopped and cancelled. We reported to our Credit Card Company what happened and they are filing a complained for fraud. We are trying to rebuild our credit after my husband having a heart attack and I had a stroke, then he lost his job. So needless to say we lost our house of 15 yrs and this is the last thing we need.. What a sham!

The same thing just happened to me this morning. I thought that I was purchasing 2 pillows for $19.99 plus $7 shipping. The call was all automated and instead of my final price around $30, they charged me $102.97! There is no way to contact these crooks and i feel like an idiot for not being more aware. I will not know until Monday if they have taken even more money. Since the ad was on television, I felt safe.

Sobakawa Cloud Pillow order total was too much

I have used the Sobakawa pillow in the past and loved it. So I saw the ad for the new cloud pillow and thought I'd order it. I called the number on the tv ad...got an automated "voice". I ordered, per the commercial, 1 sobakawa cloud pillow with pillow case for $19.99 with $7.95 S & H - I could get a 2nd pillow and pillow case for free for just paying the S & H of $7.95... that totals $35.89. I was asked if I wanted any other pillows by them giving me the sizes/info and etc. and said NO after each one. They confirmed my order, as I mentioned above, and then said: "Your total is $63.83 good-bye!" I didn't even get to disbute the total...I have called a number and left a very upset message but doubt they will call me back. My mouth just dropped open when they said the total...funny how they didn't ask if that was the correct amount when they sure asked about everything else and tried to force ordering more pillows! I work too hard for my money for someone to do this to me and I will get it back. I was also told at the beginning that my order information was safe and no one else would get it.

Wish I would have got on this website BEFORE I placed my order with this company! I ordered over the phone also, and was asked all the same questions as the previous disgrunteled customers... My total should have actually been $35.89 and I was charged $63.83! I did the math like 5 times and still wasnt adding up to what they said my total actually was... I tried calling the number back thinking that I would be able to speak to a representative... That was a no go as well... I much like everyone else on this site am disgrunteled and beyond frustrated, when ALL I wanted was a couple of good pillows for a better nights sleep! This is totally bogus! I stumbled upon a website prior to this one that asked if I would like to file a complaint and I plan to do so as soon as I finish with this! I strongly advise anyone looking to invest in one of these pillows to try something else because ANY company that is going to rip off their customers is not a company that I am willing to give my hard earned money to! Thank you to all of the previous people for getting the contact info on this page for others who have been screwed by this scam as well!

I too ordered two standard size pillows and they was shipped and charged as agreed one month later i saw a charge on my credit card statement for 105.88 and i was wondering what it was, they had charged me for another order that i did not place and i tried cancelling it only to find out they said it was already shipped out so they said i would have to wait til i received them and send them back, this is not a professional way to do business with unauthorized transactions and the package insert enclosed also says that this pillow is flamable, shouldnt it be against some kind of law selling a pillow that is so dangerous and these charges they charge without your permission, shouldnt they be something that can be done about it. ive tried telling them i didnt order them but all they say is i have to WAIT TO SEND THEM BACK, this is an outrage concerning their selling practices, they need a class action lawsuit brought against them, that miught straighten things out from these kind on busineses or so callled business.

I cant even find a customer service number to call or I would cancel my order and just get them at Walmart! No shilling there! And i wouldn't get scammed! I paid for two and they only sent one!

Ok guys, same thing happened. Ordered off of TV, no operator, charged my $100, etc, etc., I went to website, emailed National Express inventors as there is no contact info! hahahaha, so ridiculous.
Here is there response and contact info. I hope this helps everyone. I did get a call to up sell some budget savers crap but I said no to the $1 initial buy in. They are crafty! Gotta listen to every word...

The same thing happened to us. Ordered "1" pillow got tot he end of the automated call and it said total was $115.77, than an abrupt "GoodBye!" That was a Friday and could never find a number to get ahold of a real person...Then I received a call the following Monday... and the women said that the order never went through so I re-ordered and was told the correct amount of $36.89, then just now checking my bank statement online the $115.77 shows being charged! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Thanks for the number I am going to try that... I have already emailed my bank and told them to stop the charge and dispute it!

You call your bank or credit card company and file a fraud complaint!
This type of sale method is planned, deliberate and let me guess you were all on the phone with Jane Smith who has a very heavy non-American accent...they can do this because the call centers are overseas and thus our laws do not apply to them. They maintain being in business here because you the consumer might just see it as too much a hassle to return the item sort out the mess or do anything about it, only a certain percentage of the calls are treated this way..it's all about sales and our laziness to balk over "small charges".

guys the # you can call is [protected] I just called for mine, and they seem to have it fixed, the will tell you that their system is down, which is another scam by it self, and this company is called Nation Express, so they will also put you on a long hold, but if you want your Total adjusted I would suggest you wait for the call.

Same thing happened to me, and in 2 days I can not find any contact info, all I am getting is recording, no live support I think I will have to dispute this with the Credit card company, and I think this company is total scam

sobakawa cloud pillow, natures pillows, inc., buythe pillow.com watch out! seen on TV all the same company. they sold my bank information to wc budget savers, budget savers took 24.95 from my account after they were told not to and no t0 buying anything else. They WILL steal from you. I am not finished with this!

Thanks for your comments about the Sobakawa pillow. I went to their website to order, but something made me pause and check out this complaint site. Thank you for opening my eyes and not by credit cards. i am going tomorrow to Bed Bath & Beyond to get one from them. I know if it isn't any good they will gladly refund my money. Remember that old saying: 'let the buyer beware"...

I just went to order the pillow for 19.99 as advertised on TV. The automated system (no humans at all) took my order, immediately took my credit card info and then asked me if I wanted to buy every pillow they make. I declined each offer which the system supposedly acknowledgments. When finally got to the end, it told my total was $189 and immediately hung up. There is no way to get a human on the line. What do I do? I was expecting $20, not $200! Their address is in Norwalk, CT where I live. Should I go there and start hell? If anyone out there has some advice, please let me know.

I purhased the sobakawa pillow and was charged twice. when I returned all of them, i was only refunded half of the #75.00 they charged me. When I called, I was told they charged me $32.00 for processing and handling. You have got to be kidding me. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. TOTAL RIP OFF.

The only good thing I could say about this TV company, whoever they are...buyer beware! Go to Bed Bath and Beyond, and save yourself a lot of grief.
I like my pillow, and can't go to bed without it. Traveling, it's just the right size to put in the luggage and take with you. Nothing like your own pillow in a hotel, or anywhere for that matter.

I ordered from the internet ad. Buy one, get one free. It was suppose to be $19.95 plus shipping. When I received, I was suprised to find 2@$19.95 plus shipping. The total was shocking. I went to Bed Bath and and got mine for $19.99, I canceled the order.
