Skype refunds

Skype - date of incident 8 June 2016. Skype name: chrisa1uk

My Skype account has been hacked and £50 taken by the hackers. The auto-top up had been set up using my Paypal account and when the account reaches a low enough level, £20 is added to the account ( the account is topped up by £20). The hackers removed £20 from the Skype account by sending themselves gift vouchers, and when Skype saw the account was reduced to the top up limit, they topped up the account by £20 from Paypal. This happened twice within an hour. The third attempt was foiled by Paypal who blocked Skype payments for me.

Skype, however, are making sorting this out impossible. Their verification process requires that I tell them the month and year that I set up my account and I have no idea. I have been with Skype since they set up business, certainly before 2000, so to recall a month and year is impossible. They also ask about a credit card which I simply cannot recall since I have changed most of my cards over the past decade.

They have now sent me a message saying ergo, "tough, you failed our verification test because you didn't answer the question, but try again if you want". I've tried again twice and failed both times even though I have provided all the other information that only I can know the answers to.

As soon as I receive a final "that's too bad" message from my latest attempt to sort this out, I will back off, write the money off and delete my Skype account - a process that I have noticed requires a personal chat with them using instant messaging.

Ideally, I would like them to get in touch with the people the money was sent to (all in China) and cancel their gift vouchers, and reimburse my money.

Skype skype

I recently discovered my 12 year old son had, behind my back, set up a skype account on a tablet he uses. I was not too concerned as most pre-teen/ teenagers are curious about technology, etc. However, when I checked his account to see what kind of messages he was receiving, I was shocked to discover that he had been receiving adult oriented content (i.e., nude selfies, requests for him to send nude pictures of himself, requests to meet/hookup/ reveal his address, etc) from some obviously sick adult males. When I went to contact Skype regarding what was happening, I was surprised to find that there is no way to contact skype via their website (or any other way that I could see on their website.) No phone # listed, no e-mail link to contact customer support, etc. I also was surprised to find that the only way to delete an account was to, as their website instructs, contact their customer support via e-mail (which is not supplied for you anywhere on their website.) Needless to say, I have filed a complaint with the local police and will allow the authorities to deal with the company. My warning, stay away from Skype. Any company providing a service like Skype that is unwilling to provide a reasonable way to contact them for support, especially when children could be at risk, is just as sick and guilty as the pedophiles trolling the net looking for their next victim. Shame on you Skype.

Skype my credit is not showing, after I had a confirmation from them and paypal

my skype credit was down to gbp 1.80 and so I went via paypal to make a payment of gbp 10.00 on the 13th of january 2016. i received a confirmation from payal and it is also showing on my paypal january statement and I also had an e.mail from skype saying gbp 10.00 had been delivered, but up until today's date, nothing is actually showing on my account! i have tried to constantly to contact skype via their site to absolutely no avail! i am now totally frustrated with this situation! please can you help or advise me? thanking you in advance for your kind co-operation with this matter.

Skype billing practice

I received a notice from Skype that my card could not be charged. It turned out the had an obsolete card number. I gave them 2 updated card numbers but kept getting . This was for them trying to charge my account $29.95 for another year of my Skype Phone Number which we have had for years.

I spent 90 minutes on the phone with their support trying to fix the problem. Once I finally got them to charge my card the charge was going to double to be $59.95

I asked why it had doubled in 24 hours. They informed me that since I changed my card number I had to pay a higher rate. Rather than be held hostage to this higher rate I canceled it instead.

Advice: If you subscribe to their Skype numbers make sure you use a card with the latest expiry date possible and don't lose your card, or get your number compromised because your rate will likely double if you need to update your payment info.

Rochdi asking me excuse me I am a boy and I record your fake video and pictures and I aslo hacked your facebook friends and family details you send me a money yes yea no. I ask no then my fake video uploaded in youtube and facebook all friends send it. please action this number please

Skype subscription to call india

Dear Sir,
I subscribed to call India on 20th August, valid for one month, and skype offered 2500 minutes call. Kindly note that most of the time am unable to call through skype credit. I tried through wifi, mobile data, dsl etc. call disconnects within a minutes of two. most of the time, i had to use my other credits like nymgo, ifone platinum, to complete the call. Kindly check my call records and you will know the fact of my complaint.
i have only 10 days left to finish the minutes. Frankly speaking i did not enjoyed the subscription at all. if you need proof i used nymgo and ifone platinum, i will give you my user name and password to check. Really unfortunate. I was not expecting this from skype.

Skype account changes

There is no easy way to reach skype customer services. I want to send an email of complaint. There website links send you round in circles avoiding anything negative you may want to post.
I want to remove my profile photo from my account because it now has to become my business account, my company do not need to see my personalised photograph from 4 years ago-

How do i remove my picture? Ive tried deleting the account and making a new one but it comes back on despite having a new phone number. I dont want it on urgently my business director needs all employees to have skype so professionally i dont want any photo on my profile.

Skype will not direct me to an email address to complain too and this is extremely frustrating!

Skype denied access to service paid for

I paid for a US subscription and now Skype has denied me access to one of my accounts and failed to provide the service I paid for, thus they have robbed me of my money.

Skype makes it impossible to contact them. How can I get justice? How is this company allowed to operate in the United States without providing any means to contact them? How do they get away without having to answer to their customers?

They send you chasing all over the Skype website searching for a means to contact them when they very well know they have made it impossible for consumers to contact them.

Shame on Skype!

I purchased a number under skype manager which skype said it delivered but it is not usable.
As well do they offer a service which according to their own chat reply is not functioning. Numerous contacts to skype have or been ignored, or been answered with canned templates which do not address the issue. There is no contact at which to direct complaints.

After ordering Skype Credits and paying by EFT almost 2 weeks ago, I STILL have no credit despite contacting Skype support a few days ago. It was an ABSA to ABSA payment, so there is no reason that they couldn't pick up the payment within 24 hours at the latest. This is ridiculous! There is no excuse for this shocking service!

Discovered 4 unauthorized charges made by Skype.com to my account for 15.71, 15.71, 15.71 and 15.71.They do not have a customer support number and have therefore created a issue with my bank account that cannot be resolved easily

1.I signed up with a skype account.
2.They sent me an email saying they had to reverse the charges due to a Paypal problem. Status - canceled it said.
3. They proceeded to bill me for the "canceled" account for 4 months until I noticed.
4. Their "policy" says they only refund one month.
I have documentation that they canceled my account. How can they keep my money?

skype "blocks and bills"

i purchased unlimited calling. the account was blocked by skype, but skype kept billing. i am ok with skype blocking an account, but not billing after the account blocked. wish the attorney general would look into this. sending email to skype only results in receiving boilerplate replies.

Hi I am chandra bichuka I bought Skype credit by paying $209.99. I hardly used for 25 days, has to be 1 year don't know what reason blocked my Skype account by saying fraudulent activities. Did not get any particular reason. Whom should I talk to get justice. It's not fair.

Well to be fair, no company should spend a second developing for Blackberry. And Microsoft doesn't even support Windows Phone. 18 months it has been since it has seen a major update, and it was already in last place. Microsoft isn't doing itself any favors with that OS.

Skype phone service

I am using Skype since 4-5 years and suddenly one week ago my account has been restricted because Skype has made five unauthorized charges from my account in one day and I have stopped four from them. Later they returned me the phone service but today it is restricted again and even i don't know the reason. I have tried to connect to the customer care live chat but just got this:” Select issue. Problems huh? Take a seat and tell us about it. Start by choosing a topic below.” So, I can’t contact anybody from the customer care and have no phone.
Is there any website where I can open a case and attach all my documents proving my side?
I am losing my clients calls because of Skype. It’s service become ridiculous. I have to go to Google Voice instead.

Skype account restricted and balance deducted

I am using Skype since 4-5 years and suddenly few months ago my account has been restricted even I don't know the reason even I didn't login my account somewhere accpet my mobile or computer. I spoke to the customer care so many times but they didn't do anything and I sent them email again few days ago than they replied me that I should make new skype account when I made new skype account and I redeemed my voucher for calling my account restricted after 2 min and can't make any call and can't even refund the money it was huge money just $2.50 voucher but its still money and facing so many problem. I am sending you all the pictures of emails conversations and my both account pictures which I have and both have been restricted.

Skype international charges

Skype is a Microsoft based company. Microsoft and Skype, Inc both have their offices in Palo Alto, CA yet they charge your credit card through an international office in Luxembourg incurring foreign transaction fees and don't make that clear when you are purchasing their services. Even when you sign up for Skype, it asks you what country you are in, and being in the United States of America, with a company who's office are located in the USA, one would never imagine it is a foreign entity. They should make it clear that your credit card is being charged as if you got on a plane and travelled to Luxembourg.

Skype bills through Luxembourg to avoid US taxes. They do NOT make this clear, so if you are in the US and pay with credit card often you will be charged a foreign transaction fee ! Skype should be required to charge for the service in one's country of residence AND PAY THE TAXES !

I agree with your complaint but not with who you are complaining about...
Skype does not decide the credit card fees. That would be you credit card company.
Skype is a World Wide organization doing business is MANY countries. Saying they are based in the USA is inaccurate. In fact, I found 15 counties that they seem to have connections with.

Skype free minutes deducted

Dear Team,

Please note that still my issue has not been resolved and i want them to give my free minutes back or subscribe with a new subscription as an alternative...my marriage is on 09 of june from india and i have to plan so many things for my marriage thru skype but skype customer service are a cheater..

ok i understand that it cannot be carried forward so plz subscribe my account with a new subscription and give me only 440 minutes back and deduct your 360 minutes ...i want my subscription back asap ...it was not my mistake i addressed this issue when my subscription was valid but you guys kept on ignoring my email...i requested for this like almost a month and u guys just kept on ignoring so its ur prblm not mine...plz subscribe my account asap bcoz of u guys i was not able to speak to my parents on tmy birthday and even i was not able to speak to them on festivals so i want it by any how otherwise i am going to escalate this issue to a very high level...poor handling customer servise...to resolcve a issue u need more than a month ...i need it back

The entire mistake was committed from ur end...

1.you deducted my free minutes bfore the time.
2.once I received a message that my subscription free minutes has been over the next day itself I send an email to guys like 10 days before my subscription date...but u guys did not respond to my email for 5 days and then kept on ignoring.
3 I know as per ur policy if the subscription period is over u cannot return my free minutes...but this is neither my problem and not my fault .
4.you guys have poor handling customer service ...you guys are exploiting customers I will again file a complain against you guys because I need my free minutes back.
5.even sending so many emails I did not received a resolution ...I understand ur policy...but there shold be an alternative while committing a mistake from ur end how can u say straight away no to the customer.
6 If the mistake is from ur end then you your company Skype needs to compensate for that...I understand that you cannot return my free minutes back ...plz subscribe my account with 800 min free calling to india for the month of may.
if this is not actioned then again I am going to file a very big complian then I will reach to the ceo/vp/avp of the company to get it resolved.

your tat is only for 24 hrs you deducted my free minutes you have to pay for it or subscribe for it for this month a new subscription if my previous subscription was over and if you cannot returned the expired subscription bkas u the Skype is the culprit.

This has been happening continuously every month...before my minutes used to expire you guys used to deduct my minutes and say that the subscription is over...how stupid...and you guys kept on doing the same thing again and again everytime I thought it might be an error but this time I am very serious I need it back with an alternative...
I have all the emails that have received from the Skype in regards to the solving of this problem and I will be happy to post all the emails on the website for complain to let the higher management know what Skype customer service representatives are doing to keep the customers happy and what kind of customer service they are providing

you can also see the attached email that when was the 1st day i requested to get bck my skype free minutes and still not received.

Skype non refund of payment due to unused service

I am a Skype Business User with Skype Manager. I purchased Skype Credits to assign to my team and I did it for UAE & Saudi Arabia. The next moment, team tried and said it does not work after many tries. I contacted Skype immediately, and their chat support said this, after some analysis they agreed that in these countries, Skype is banned and hence, they will refund the money. All done. Later, I received an email with:

I understand that your concern has not been solved as you wish it could be. And I know how frustrating it is. But I am sorry to let you know that there is no way for us to refund the subscription because it has been allocated using Skype Manager.
We can only refund a certain subscription if you purchase it using your personal account. I know that you dont want this and I totally understand that. That is why I have followed up you on email regarding this matter so you can be aware and will not wait for a week for the refund that is not going to happen.

This was on 4th of Feb and today its Feb 22nd. I asked them to solve the issue, as I was ready to spend few thousand with them for entire team, but they said, despite the fact that the problem is with them, they would not refund as I am a business user. They could check and in chat, they did confirm that I have NOT USED EVEN 1 MIN from the subscription.

After a lot of to and fro emails (they will reply once every 1-2 days) and now it has become reply once every 2-3 days from their end. They said that they will escalate the issue, but no timeline promised. After a few more emails, they said that the person assigned is unavailable. After few emails and few days, they wanted my mobile number to talk to me, then again no calls and no responses and they said they are again investigating the issue and nothing happened so far for 3 weeks.

I have all email and chat copies with me, where they agree in writing that the problem is theirs, but still won't support as I am a business user and they have "no way" to refund. If it is a system they built, how can there be no way to refund?

If all went good, I would have stayed a loyal customer.

Skype cheating

I subscribed the 800 mins call to India from 2nd September 2013. My next subscription starts from 2nd October and also confirmed on the site that my subscription will start from 2nd October. On 2nd October I called India thinking that my subscription starts but they charged me for all the numbers I called which comes to USD 4.00. When I asked Skyoe they are saying that they start my subscription from 4.27pm gmt. Now how the hell we know that there is a time also from where we have to start. They never state that the subscription will start from this time also. Now I lost $4.00 and they just making fool by saying all this nonsense. The exact wording they are giving explanation is as below which is not understandable:
"Anil, here's what exactly have had happened in your Skype account. You're right that the number you're trying to call is covered by your calling subscription. However, we have checked that the time you've initiated the call, your minutes was not yet reset. In that case, the system use your Skype Credit so that call will be connected."

I have the same problem. My email address has been terminated (domain name sold for $$$ but not by me, so it's greed again). So i had to change to another email address. I decided to get my own name.com. I've changed most of my email login, adresses etc. However I didnt change the one of Skype. I rarely call using skype. Now i tried to login and i'd forgotten my login credentials. I've been asked to provide Skype with the most riducules questions: What where your last two calls? How in the world would anyone remember the last calls? If that was yesterday I most likely would remember but then I'd probably would remember my login details as well! But not 9 or 11 months ago.. This clearly are rules setup by people who have no clue about customer needs and service. Some people behind a desk thinking of some 'security' questions only the owner can answer.
I've been in contact with customer service but as with most of those service departments you're just a number, and empty face. I explained them exactly what had happened and the fact that remembering phone conversations such a long time ago is impossible. The answer was everytime the same: We're so sorry. Please give answers to... (all the same questions again).
How thick and desperate must you be in order to sit there and always answering customer complainst with the same answer?
I've asked to give my balance to a charity, well you knwo what charity that is? SKYPE!
I hate them and in all fairness they have not improved (in general VOIP hasnt improved) over the last 10-15 years, although technology has!

Skype skype stole money from my account

Hello,

I have used Skype for chat and calling by myself for almost 3 years. There was always some problems in the calling and funding, I sent a couple email and message to Skype, but they responded very slowly and some problems are still unresolved. It's so puzzled over Skype doesn't resolve the issue for me but block my account and pocketed all the balance in my account $136 more which I just charged a few days ago.

Here was the evidence Skype didn't resolve the funding issue and phone number issue but they block my account to paid me back for my complain.

Please address.

Skype charging for service that doesn't work - no refunds

I tried 3-way video calling tonight which requires Skype Premium. Since I wasn't given the option of trying it out first, I signed up for the 1 month subscription. After spending frustratingly 2 hours of making it work, I gave up and asked for a refund. It took over an hour on the chat line to beg for a refund and I still didn't get it. I was told that the subscription is used and therefore I am not entitled to a refund. I barely used the subscription for 5 hours and most of that time was spent figuring out why the 3-way video calling won't work.
Customer service is very poor. They didn't even consider that I spent hours making the group video calling to work. No, they want their $10 even if it meant they didn't deliver a working product. In my opinion, Skype should be investigated for fraud.
Anyway, I'm not going to get my money back and therefore I would like to make sure that consumers do not fall into the same trap. Skype is a scam and don't deserve your business. Take it elsewhere there's lots of other options out there. I am making sure I broadcast this news to everyone on the internet. It will be $10 worth spending.
