Skagen no complaint! my apologies and amends!

Late this past saturday evening, I sent you a long message regarding the beautiful rose gold watch I purchased overseas at a j h stern duty free company at the airport (i'm pretty sure it was tel aviv). I thought the pin had come out of it for the 2nd time sat. Evening and fell off my wrist. It turns out that the pin didn't come off. My son in law fixed it for me! Thank goodness! I do not understand why this clasp slips off from time to time though. I've never had a watch that does this. The crystal is still a bit cracked from when it fell off my wrist the first time in the next country I visited the same day I purchased this lovely watch. Would it be possible for you to get the crystal (and maybe the clasp) replaced for me at no charge due to this issue? I hope so.
I'm so sorry for my mistake! I do love my watch very much! We'll see soon (I hope) what I think and feel about skagen's customer service response and hopefully positive action. I am very big on submitting feedback, for the most part for high praise and acknowledgement!
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you again for your time, consideration, and hopefully assistance!
Sincerely,
Sue m. Smith

I ordered a watch for a Christmas gift on December 2, 2020. I did not hear from them for almost three weeks so tried to contact them. It was an effort in futility. I called and sat on hold for over 40 minutes and gave up. I tried the online chat and was booted out every time. I tried the feedback section and once again struck out. I finally got through by telephone only to find I could not understand the customer service rep. I emailed customer service and they finally answered on December 23 - such a help for a Christmas gift. They tell me it is out of stock and they do not anticipate any more stock in the near future, yet it is still for sale on their website and still available. It is my guess that they do not want to provide the item at the sale price offered at the time of my purchase. The customer service is abysmal at best. I have purchased several items in the past, however, I can no longer trust you will keep your word.

Skagen watches

I was gifted a SKAGEN watch by my son around 2 months back from Singapore. Today morning I found that it's glass has cracked. No falling no hitting. Now seeing the comments here, I don't know what to do. Can anyone suggest how to get it replaced, repaired. Is it too costly to get it repaired. I think changing of glass will do. Earlier I had a Titan watch for last 10 years but I never had this problem except changing battery.

Skagen watch

I bought a Skagen watch at Singapore Airport. I used it for a day and kept in my cupboard. Next day when I took it on hand the top glass came of separately along with the washer. It is so surprising how a brand like Skagen dies not have quality check. Can it be repaired and if yes what is the procedure. Where should it be sent. Is there any outlet or Customer Service in India

Skagen watch

Don't buy skagen watches. I own three skagen watches. The one I obtained first is now a few years old. Skagen tends to design and sell watches that use unconventional bands, and some of those often don't attach with the standard watch band spring pins, but with tiny screws, so, for those models, regular replacement bands won't work. I went searching for a replacement band for this watch, which otherwise works fine. Nothing is available anywhere in stores or on the internet. I contacted skagen. They don't sell a replacement band for this watch, not do they have knowledge of a supplier who sells one. So, they made the product, but once the band wears-out you're stuck with a perfectly good watch that can only be worn with a shabby-looking, worn-out watch band. Wearing such a watch is certainly not my style. Skagen's customer service folks were nice enough, but offered no solution to my problem. I found the names to skagen's top three executives in america. I wrote to them several days ago and have received no response. Nobody at skagan seems to care that I bought three of their watches (I have even given a 4th one as a gift), and I am very unhappy with their low level of support for their products. Even the top executives absolutely don't seem to care that there is no replacement watch band for my skagen watch. I will certainly never buy another skagen watch, and my advice to anyone is don't buy skagen watches.

Skagen broken skagen watch glass.

On 13 December 2015 I bought a Skagen watch from my country.
Last month, when I put it in my hand, I noticed the glass is broken

I found the crystal glass from my Skagen watch broken without being hit or aggressed. I send it in service and they want to pay the repair (the glass can not be changed separately, it has to change the entire case). This costs half the purchase price of the watch.
It's a manufacturing flaw and I am not willing to pay for they're errors.

I had exactly same situation. The crystal on my Skagen broke over night without hit or being fall on the flor or something. I sent it to the service and they want to charge the replacement. The din't want to hear my opinion. They found some excuses that watch has been scratched which caused the crack of the crystal. I had few watches before, quite scratched (I think every watch gain some scratches within its life period) but no one of them NEVER broke.
I think Skagen has realy poor glass quality. Although I love the design of my Skagen I wouldn't recomend the buy.

Skagen malfunction of watch

After only two years my skagen watch has had two new batteries but I was informed that the watch needed a service and clean or the second battery would not work . I now note the high number of complaints re these watches and am very dismayed since having severe arthritis and mobility problems I can wear only a very thin watch and am very careful to use it to avoid damage . I have referred the situation to WHICH since there does seem to be a very high level of dissatisfaction with the product Joan Leith

Skagen ladies watch cracked glass

I bought two Skagen watches for my wife on 9/01/17 and in April she noticed the glass on one had cracked. She is unaware of dropping it or doing anything that could could account for this. She kept her last watch for over 17 years and still has it. We put the watch in for repair and were quoted £35 which we paid and were told the crack was not covered by the guarantee. The watch was due for collection by 21/05/17 and today on asking again if it was ready we were told that the cost of repair was wrong and that it would be £125 - the cost of the watch ! We were offered a substitute glass for £55 which we have agreed to but even so we regard this as very poor service.

Skagen cheaply made, and doesn't stand behind their product

I am truly disappointed in the way Skagen stands behind its products. I bought a watch for $140 November 16th, 2017; I typically only spend $50 or less but decided to splurge. Two months after buying it I noticed the piece on the stem was missing, I was at a funeral when it happened so there wasn't any roughness with the watch. I took the watch to the store I bought it at Macy's, they wouldn't exchange or return the watch. They offered to send it to the manufacturer Skagen for warranty. Apparently the manufacturer doesn't stand behind their product either; the store called to say it will cost $116 to fix the watch. Obviously the watch quality wasn't very good for it to have broken 2 months after I purchased it, why would I spend any money to repair it, there isn't any guarantee that the watch wouldn't break again. I'm disgusted with Macy's and Skagen! I will never buy from either again!

Skagen 2 watches and both had the glass faces fall out.

I have owned 3 Skagerrak watches and 2 of the them have had the faces fall out. The first one Skagen replaced with no charge. Since fossil took over I am now told I will have to pay up to $150 to have a new glass put in.
I wrote and suggested that if I had bought a car and the door fell off (of two cars). Then there is a definite design fault and therefor not an issue for me. The warrant tee only covers moving parts, as I said to the the glass is a moving part, it fell out!
I want them to replace my glass free of charge.

Skagen skagen watches

I emailed to them with the intention to bring to their attention the issues they have. I bought one and the glass cracked for no obvious reason. Apparently from their reply they have no intention to solve their quality problem and conveniently blame it on users. People, please save your money and time, stay away from Skagen.

Their reply to my email:

"Thank you for contacting Skagen Customer Care. We are sorry to hear of the troubles you have experienced. Please keep in mind that anything on the outside of the watch is subject to normal wear and tear, whether it happens by accident or without your knowledge. Skagen's watch warranty exists to cover any defect in the craftsmanship of the timepiece itself, which would be the watch movement. Although we have had customers experience accidents where they hit it against something without noticing it, or put too much pressure on the crystal without knowing, it is not considered a reflection of the quality of our watches. Regardless, we would be more than happy to see what solutions we can provide for you in regards to your particular situation. Please respond with your full shipping address, phone number, and style number of the watch you have. The style number is a combination of letters and numbers located on the back of the watch face. We look forward to your response, and to assisting you further. If you have any additional questions, please let us know. Have a great day.

Skagen ladies watch

My partner bought me a lovely white Skagen watch with some "diamonds" round the face. After 6 months it stopped and the shop I bought it from put in a new battery. After three months it stopped again and they sent it back to Skagen and new "insides" were put in. They refused to extend the warranty. Unfortunately on holiday I dropped the watch on to a tiled floor and the glass cracked. I took it to a registered Skagen repairer and he phoned Skagen to get a price for the glass. Skagen phoned him back and said the glass was obsolete and a whole new casing had to be fitted, coming to three quarters of what it cost! I am not happy, especially after ringing Skagen (Fossil) UK and getting nowhere. The said that the watch may have been in the shop a long time. 18 months old and it's obsolete - a complete joke!

Skagen quality problem

I have bought 2 Skagen watches in the past year, because I like the design of their woven metallic bands. I bought the second after the crystal on the first had broken. It took very little time before the crystal on the second one broke as well.
I have never broken a crystal on a watch before, in over 40 years, so it does seem that they have a quality problem.
I would like the company to repair both watches by replacing the crystals at no charge.

I wish to complain about the metallic watch straps that I have had problems with. I have lost two watches within the last five years because the clasps have come undone and both watches fell off and were lost.
I am a loyal user of Skagen watches and have had about four or five over the years but I am upset that the clasps are not dependable.
Because they are both missing I have no idea what the watch identifying numbers are, but can describe them to an agent.

Skagen poor quality product

My wife and I were very impressed by the design of the Skagen watches and bought one each. My watch stopped working after a few weeks and after several complaints was replaced. The new watch worked for a further few months before intermittently stopping again. My wifes watch worked for about 12 months but then started to stop on odd occasions. We have both given up wearing the watches and reverted to our old (non Skagen) watches that are working fine. A great looking product but very poor quality and a complete waste of money.

I bought a Skagen watch 233XLTMB in Belgium. I had good care of it but when I first wash my hands with the watch on my wrist( like 6 months after purchase), I noticed there is moisture inside.
According to specifications, the watch is water resistant up to 3 atm. Therefore I’ve been quite surprised to notice this water inside.
I went to the nearest service center ( INNO store, Leuven, Belgium) where the watch was dispatched for repair, under warranty I was thinking.
Today I had a call from the repair center informing me the watch can be repair but with a cost of 110 euro, for some parts.
Just to be short, after my refusal to support the reparation cost, they just concluded the watch will be returned not repaired.
The arguments were funny, see below the answer from Nederland Fosil Customer Center :
"Goodmorning,
The watch is absolutely not water proof. 3 ATM is not suitable for showering, bathing, swimming, snorkeling, water related work like washing hands. Unfortunately for you, we can't make the watch under warranty. You can accept the quotation or we can send the watch back not repaired.
Please let us know what you want.
Regards,
Ahmed """

So guys, be aware for this scam of watch manufacturers : water resistant is NOT water proof. Logic, isn't it ? They made my day ! If any one can explain me the difference, I 'l be grateful.
Conclusion : Poor quality watches, even more poor Fosil customer service. Stay away !

Purchased skagen men watch model T233XLTMN in 2015, Germany, official distributor. after few WEEKS, without any reason (no damage, no single fall) - stopped working on random occasions, multiple, absolutely random occasion. No strong electro-magnetic fields. The watch was sent to repair, returned (declared as fixed). after another few weeks of usage - the same problem. I am tired of such very fine looking but awful quality item, and I have no time to waste trying to fix this problem. it seems that the watch is useless.

Skagen watch strap

My husband was given a Skagen watch for his 70th birthday in May 2014 within several weeks the strap started to peal away from the lining, bits started dropping off and now, some 16 months after purchase the watch cannot be worn. Good quality watch spoilt by poor quality strap, which is not covered by their warranty! I would never purchase one of their watches again because of this.

Skagen glass cracked without any hit/bump/fall

I have purchased Skagen watch 4 month back from South City Mall, Kolkata as this watch looked beautiful and slim. I love this watch smore than myself and every day I wipe it with very soft cloth before I keep it for night. Today morning to my surprise I noticed very much visible crack on the glass. I wonder and I am sure this there was no crack yesterday night when I wiped it before keeping inside watch case. What might have happen that it cracked in night. Why Skagen make such watched that cracks without any reason.

I would never buy any skagen watch in future and I recommend readers of my post to never buy this. Cost of replacing the glass of this watch is half of the total price of watch itself.

Regards
Devraj

Skagen - cracked glass

My partner bought me a Skagen watch for my birthday and I was overjoyed! Within a month the glass had cracked, I had to pay to talk to a help line who were no help. Just gave me an address to send it to. Cost almost half the replacement cost to fix, and now a couple of months later its cracked again. Both times I wasn't doing anything active. Today I wa...

Skagen watch

I purchased a Skagen ladies watch in rose gold (SKW2142) in mid-august 2014 for £112.5. Within a month, the glass had cracked without me having knocked it. I was told it was not covered by warranty and paid $99 AUD to have the glass replaced. 2 months later it happened again. This time I checked it before putting in it's box at bedtime and when I went to put it on the next day it was cracked. I paid $79AUD to have it repaired again. Third time, it occurred again within 2 months. The jeweller sent it away and Skagen sent back a new watch. However, in less than a week the glass has cracked! I checked it before placing it in it's box when I went to bed and it was fine. This morning I went to put it on and found 2 cracks! I am so disappointed as I love this watch and take great care with my jewelry. I only wore it when I went out and I work as a psychologist so I'm not exactly banging things with it. I am very unhappy having spent so much money on this watch.

Skagen warranty not honoured

I bought a Skagen watch online and it ceased to work within 2 years of purchase. When I sent it to the authorized repairer in Australia (Fossil Australia) I was told that I would have to pay for the movement to be replaced. Fossil would not honor the limited lifetime warranty because I had not purchased the watch from an authorized dealer. Given that it is the watch that is warranted against poor workmanship or faulty materials not the seller, I expect the warranty to be honored and the cost to be passed back to the manufacturer. Instead, it seems that Skagen remains at arms length from its products and the limited lifetime warranty is not worth the paper it is written on.
While I don't expect to win this one, other prospective purchasers of Skagen watches should be aware of this trap.

Skagen faulty ceramic watch strap.

Fossil who are UK agents for Skagen watches refused to repair my ceramic link which after only wearing it a couple of times broke along a flaw on the underside of the link. I returned the watch to Fossil who demanded that I buy a whole new strap at a cost of more than 50% of a new watch. They refused to rectify saying that they don't guarantee straps. They offered no good will, no apology and do not recognise the Sales of Goods Act although based at Milton Keynes UK. This is a case of the worst possible customer service I have experienced in my sixty eight years.
Be warned if thinking of buying a product from this organisation.
