On 05/16/08 I accepted an offer for 2 mugs and 2 bags of coffee for $5.00. My account was charged $25.00. On 3 subsequent dates (05/21/08, 05/27/08 and 06/05/08) my account was charged $48.95 for shipments that were returned as "refused-cancelled". To date, Seattle Coffee Direct owes me $166.85 for merchandise that was returned. I have not been able to locate a customer service number to complain and refute these charges. I am disabled and on a low to very-low fixed income. I need assistance in recovering this money.

I strongly agree with the reviewed complaints re: Seattle Coffee Direct! I consider this company to be unscrupulous and it's dealings illegal!

Call your credit card company. They should stand behind you. Be sure to say the word "fraud". You will have to fill out a dispute form, but it is not difficult. You can also request to change your credit card number to avoid future charges. Save all the receipts you get from Seattle Coffee. DO NOT OPEN any future shipments. Write:
“Unauthorized Shipment: Refused” on the package. If you have a camera, take a picture of it with the “Unauthorized Shipment: Refused” in plain view as evidence. Then give the package to the postman.

I agree... I just signed up for the same promotional "5 for 5" thing and have also received subsequent charges. I just spoke with some one at 888-217-2233 who stated that it's a weekly program (2 bags/week! who drinks that much coffee??) that you can cancel at any time. She said that unopened coffee can be returned for a full refund, as well as the mugs and tumblers. She said this can be done by returning to sender (from the comments on this website, not a good idea), OR by mailing them yourself to 5603 west howard st, niles, il 60714 and request a tracking number and signature.

I also noticed that the Niles, IL address she gave me is different from the shipping address on the package, which is in Evanston. Maybe that's part of the problem. I am definitely mailing them to Niles and requesting a tracking # & signature.

Hello to all coffee lovers, who, like myself fell for "it".
The 5 for 5 deal and a 38.95 free sample too.
The irony is that i tasted it for the first time this morning
and its lousy coffee!

I also did the 5 for 5 deal and saw charges right away for the 25 and 38.95. I called and asked about it, they said its part of the club that you join, I let her know I dindt want to comit to anything more until i received the first shpment to see if I even liked the coffee. She said she would cancle the future shipments and let me know which box had the 5 for 5 and which was the order I didnt request. She said I could refuse the order and return for full credit back.
Will see wha happens and how soon I get the credit.

well, well, I love the coffee, but I hate the people or company that cheat costumer that work hard every day and company
like SEATTLE DIRECT COFFEE MILK OUR CRDIT CARD OR ATM.
MY CREDIT CARD HAS BEEN CHARGED THREE TIMES AND THE LADY ON THE PHONE ONLY SAID THAT THIS IS MEMBERSHIP
AND CHARGE THE CC EVERY WEEK.

I too got charged 39.95 after the initial 25.00 charge for my first shipment. Surprisingly, I just saw that my bank account was just credited with the 39.95. I had called the company and cancelled my "bi-weekly" shipment and said I absolutely did not any future shipments. The person I spoke to said my second shipment had already been sent and that I could refuse the package when it came. It came several days later.
It came in a gray or white plastic bag and I didn`t know what it was, so I opened it. Wham! more coffee! Now I had to repackage the coffee and pay the return shipping.
I said, The heck with it...I`ll just keep the coffee. Now they have credited my account for 38.95 without receiving their coffee back.
Now, since I`m an honest person, I will send their coffee back at my own expense, if I can find an address.
What a mess! Who is running this company?

Well, I guess I should have checked here before going through with it! First, I was only informed of the $5.00 for the coffee, then, upon receipt of the coffee, there were two mugs, and two travel mugs (worst travel mugs EVER!) One of them, the lid was busted, but that really didn't matter, since neither lid worked anyway. I wonder if they tested it before assuming it sealed, cause mine leaked horribly! The same day, I was charged $5.00; then $25.00; then $38.95. I called immediately (I used my ATM Visa, and the number I found was on my bank statement 888-217-2233), and have been told every week for now going on the 3rd month ample execuses and that the refund is coming! WHATEVER! Everytime I call, they act like its the first time I have called! If they are honestly going to return my money, can't they just cut a check and mail it! Just wondering, anyone heard the execuse, "the processing company we gave it to, no longer processes for your bank" OMG! SEND IT TO ANOTHER, DON'T JUST SIT ON IT!

Same thing happened to me. I ended up with five charges every other day for a week and to date have not received a complete refund. Credit card company continues to investigate.

Make sure you have a tracking number before returning their product, or they will probably deny receipt of it.

I just signed up for the 5 for $5 this afternoon and now, a few hours later, I already saw a pending charge for $25 on my card!!
I called the number on their website https://www.seattlecoffeedirect.com/main/index.php but they are closed. What a scam!!

T'his should have license revoked for life .They dont do anything professional they are complete rip off artists and I want my money back I sent back 2 orders of coffee in august hav'nt receive my refund yet .I'm shocked that they are still in bussiness. thier license should have revoked a long time ago .
