Range comes on by itself and won't cut off

My glass top range, model # 790.96011406, eyes cut on by their self and also when you cut them on
they won't cut off without turning off the breaker. This range is about 4 years old. From what I understand
Kenmore/Fridgeadaire has a recall on other models like this one with the same problem but not my model.
They are recalling models back to 2000 with the same problems, so why not mine.
When we called Sears they said they would send somebody out to check it out for $ 125.00
Why should I have to pay for something that is a defect in their product!!!
Evedently they want me purchase another unit from a different manufacture ...because I sure won't buy
one from them (SEARS/FRIDGEADAIRE)!
