This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I was scrolling through my bank statement and discovered a charge for $29.95 on December 28, 2010. I had never ordered or authorized any one to take $29.95 or any money from my account.

I have tried to contact scoresense to return my money to no avail. I am tired of these things happening. I have had subscriptions to magazines with money taken from my account despite the fact that I had never ordered any magazines. If you don't check your account, these people get away with it. It's so frustrating.

I called and explained the situation, and the nice sounding girl on the other end said they would gladly return my money, minus the $19.95 (Lesson fee). So I told her to eat [censored], and that I'd be opening a case with The Better Business Bureau. I hung up on the little snot, and attempted to open a case with The BBB. And though they had a number of complaints about "ScoreSense" they didn't have enough complaints to act on.

However, the thieves at ScoreSense didn't know that, and they refunded my money immediately.

I suggest trying the same.

It worked for me. Give 'em hell, and good luck.

I'm another victim of scoresense raiding my bank account without authorization.

I NEVER signed up for their services.

So the obvious question is "How are they able to do this at will, with no legal consequence"?

They've stolen $Millions, and seem to have no legal accountability.

I was charged on my card without any approval information or mail. I want my money back. Also, by California law, I can get a refund on my purchase if I cancel the service before the period ends.

On checking my statement at the bank I noticed that this company has been taking $19.95 per month from me via my credit card. I have never authorized them to do this nor have I ever heard of them before.

I was aware of signing of this service. My intention was to get a free credit report and woke up this morning (8/6/22) to a debit of $29.95 and was completely surprised. I contacted the company about the misunderstanding and they canceled the membership but denied my request for a refund.

RIP OFF ALERT! Scoresense is a rip off company. I was one day late in canceling my account and the guy on the phone actually SCOLDED me and then kept the entire month's payment. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They charged $29.95 for a service my credit card and banks offer for free.

I canceled the membership in the appropriate time span and they still charged me $29.95 for the membership.

I was told this was a free service. I didn't mind the $1.00 charge but even after cancelling they still charged me $29.95.

They are lying thieves and I want my money back. I cannot afford it.

I requested the FREE service and was told there was a one time fee of $1.00 for processing my request. I gave them my account number for that purpose ONLY and cancelled after getting my credit report. They withdrew $29.95 from my account and when I contacted them they told me that would give me 2 months of services instead of one, ending on 7/18/12; well, i just looked at my account and they have taken another $29.95 out. I checked their so-called website and cannot find a phone number for them. I am reporting this to my bank and am sure they will reverse the charges and block any future ones.

When I signed up for the $1 credit report, I did not realize I was also signing up for a $29.97/MONTH service. This is all perfectly legal, but about as ethical as snake oil. AVOID THIS COMPANY!

When I got my "free" credit report from Kredit Karma, I ended up with a $1.50 charge on my credit card. Then I had a $29.95 charge on my credit card, one month later. I called and found out I had to call and cancel that service by a certain date. So I swallowed the $29.95, and canceled on the date of the phone call. It seems that they extended the service another 30 days, and I was to cancel once again by a certain date, which of course I did not, and I became a little upset. I told them I wanted it canceled, and the $29.95 put back in my account. The girl, Portia, tried to sell me a number of other products, but finally accepted that all I wanted to do was cancel, and have the $29.95 refunded. Instead, I received the following email today.

Dear Evon,
Thank you for contacting ScoreSense Customer Care. After careful review of your account, the following refund requests have been processed:

Recently widowed, I thought I should check my credit report. Saw a little ad for free credit report from all three major agencies. Since I don't expect people to want to take advantage of you and rip you off, I made the mistake of trying it. Well I was amazed at how wrong I was. Please, read the fine print and don't ever give any of these scam places a credit card number. I didn't understand that my account would be charged $29.95 if I did not cancel withing 7 days and was so glad that I did cancel before they were able to steal anymore money from me. How these places stay in business is beyond my imagination. Someone should really do something to put them out of business. Deceptive advertising should be their name.

This really sucks but it says right in their terms and conditions what exactly they will do if you do not cancel your free trail within the free trail period ( in bg bold letters) ive learned my lesson. read the damn terms and conditions because little snakes like score sense will completely take advantage.

Look at the terms and conditions, its no dought that score sense does not disclose this information for a reason because then people would actually do this. In their terms and conditions is does say if you do not call and cancel your free trail before the free trial is over, you will be charged monthly. I've learned my lesson and that is READ the TERMS AND CONDITIONS! BECAUSE LITTLE SNAKES LIKE SCORE SESNSE WILL TAKE TOTAL ADVANTAGE!

My Bank of America account ...7790 - transaction date 08/24, posted 08/27, has been charged $29.95 ( reference number 3570) by scoresense.com for a an unstated reason. My research has revealed the origin of charge came from Score Sense an on/lilne company operating out of Dallas Texas. I did not order or receive any product or service from this organisation at any time in my life. I
therefore declare that I have been a victim of scam or direct fraud and want restitution as appropriate.

I found 29.95 had been drafted from my account WITHOUT authorization. I called and talked to a very nice lady who assured me the charges would be reversed. I will keep you posted as to weather I get my money back or not ! I would recommend that anyone having this problem should also contact your bank.

On Dec 13th I went to this site to get my credit score - they said they were free. Most of the way through the process I was prompted for my card info to be charged a $1 fee. I figured it was only $1 but then on Dec 24th I was charged $29.95! There was no indication that there were any other services that were going to be charged for. I have spoken to them & Leroy (ID# 0500597) said that he will pass this along to the accounting dept. I would like to see some recourse in getting my money back.

somehow this company accessed our (2) bank card #'s in Feb. 2013 and began taking money out, first just one dollar, when that worked it went up to $29.95... on both cards! With reference to a e-mail address that I don't even use except for special applications. They claim that we responded to a request for FREE credit score info. We did not! We missed this on our statement. Now they are giving us the shuffle between "corporate" and whoever answers the phone. I want every penny returned that these scammers have taken from us.

Did not even discover that I was being billed for this service until under audit. Wife thought charges were for something else and I never look at statements (I guess that is what they hope everyone does). Do not even remember signing up for credit reports but perhaps we were looking for free or $1 credit reports at some time and probably went through this offer. HOWEVER, at no time was it clear (nor does anyone here remember) that we were going to be billed on a recurring basis. We never received, nor viewed, any credit reports at any time. We never received, nor opened, nor viewed, any correspondence, alerts, etc.., at any time.
The reason was that Scoresense was supposedly sending all reports, alerts, information, files, downloads, attachments, requests, etc...to an email address that was unrecognizable to us. Therefore, we never received anything stating we were receiving any services. We never responded to any requests for information. We never opened any attachments sent. We never opended any reports. When this situation was brought to my attention, we were billed for over one year. Spoke with a rep initially one the phone and he reviewed my account, which took some time to verify because I could not provide the correct email address.
I presented him with my current email address for future correspondence. He stated that after review, he could see that I never utilized any service, responded to any alert sent, opened any attachment, etc...and that the account had been canceled months previously. He stated the account was canceled for rejection of payment withdrawl attempt. The only reason that happened was because I had a card stolen and had to close that account and open a new one. The rep stated that he would send the request for refund in and I should hear back in 1-2 days. Heard back and it was an interesting email that I received. They approved a refund of the final month charge and also the initial $1 charge but denied the rest.
If you refund the initial charge and the final charge that means you acknowledge anything in between is inaccurate. However, after review, 7 of the monthly charges had been double billed and not refunded. So they kept 2x the charges for the decpetion. Another situation is where will the charges be refunded to because they have no information for me. I called again and explained the situation to another rep and she put another request for refund in. She stated that most are not approved but she could not make any guarantees because it all is reviewed by the corporate office in Dallas (which she stated they have no contact with, are not in the same city, and are instructed to tell the public not to contact).
I asked for the corporate office phone to speak with someone and she told me that was not possible but that she would give me an address and I could Google it myself and try to get a phone number. I am now awaiting the second response to my request. Even if they take the position that I should check my statements every month for accuracy, they cannot justly explain the double charges, the rationale behind initial and final charges refund, or how they are going to process any refund approved without my account information or contact with me. I will await their next decision and update this accordingly.
