Scam charges
Complaint Rating: 100 % with 32 votes
Company information:
Freelance Home Writers
United States
Phone: 512-749-1377
www.freelance-home-writers.com

Upon initially signing up with Freelance Home Writers.com, I looked at the sight for a few days and decided it was not for me. Since there was no information on continuing the registration I believed I would only be charged for $2.95 trial subscription. Upon receiving my credit card bill this month I realized I had been charged for the $49.95 which is the full subscription rate. I know I should have checked into this more effectively but I do believe that they are not fully disclosing their procedures.

I hope that by notify you regarding this company, I will save others the expense they do not realize they will be incurring.

Thanks so much for the tip. I was getting ready to sign up and decided to do a little research myself. Thank God for sites like this one. It really helps consumers save money from scammers such as this.

I wish there was a place where we could all sign up for no spamming emails, the same way we can sign up for no spam calling.

Thanks again!

Thank you for the heads up. I received one of their emails, and thinking that the trial subscription is cheap, and I might actually want to sign up.

Thankfully, I decided to do a little check before registering, and am really grateful for the feedback.

This is an outrage!!! How do they get away with doing this? I too was about to sign up with this company and probably would have done if a good friend hadn't told me that it was a pure SCAM!!! I feel so angry that we as ordinary unsuspecting citizens are being abused in this way!!!

Thank you for this excellent service.

There was something very strange about that website. No proper company write-up, no refund policies and
not even a demo of what the site does.

Luckily I found this website with feedback from all the people. This Freelance writers site seems like a major scam.

Apparently I'm not the only sucker. The exact same thing happened to me. $49.95. What's more their contact phone number is just a voicemail box. No one answers ever. The only thing I was able to do is submit a "question" on their website as a cancellation request - then made jpg image of it with the snipping tool in Vista and sent to my lawyer. I better not get any more charges from these scam artists..I have learned my lesson and will always check around on sites like this one before I sign up for anything else online.

I was about to sign up...but then I told myself... when I got my present job...I didn't have to pay my employer to work here...why should I EVER have to pay someone to get a job...??

So I say..if they ask you money... If YOU have to pay them to work for them... I don't believe it's a good job...

If any of you know of any of these type of home jobs that work... let me know..cause I haven't found one yet... :o)

Hope all of you get your money back...and good luck.

What a wonderful opportunity that would have been for me, had it been a legitimate company.
Thank you for your postings. I too wanted something like that and was so ready to sign up.

Has anyone found such a company as of yet, offering an opportunity to work from home as a free lance writer?

I was so tempted to check into this supposed opportunity to earn some extra money. Since trusting elderly women like myself are sometimes desperate to find a way to do that, we sometimes find ourselves in precarious situations. But lucky for me I thought, since there is so much of fraud going on, I had better check this out. I'm so glad for the warning. Thank you!

You guys, c'mon... this isn't really a "scam". The website says you will be charged that amount on their "Get Paid" page. A scam is when there is deception. They may ask for a fee in order to assist you in finding the companies that will pay you to write, but there is no scam involved.

And no, I don't work for the company. I just checked out the site after receiving an email, and did some reading. They have it posted on their site, just below the bold $2.95 statement.

I feel like such an idiot
theyve taken 2 monthly fees from me. Ive sent numerous emails and their toll free number doesnt work from the UK ; my bank are no help; the only way I can stop them taking money is by changing my account or my card altogether. is there another contact number for them, a non toll free one?

Like my mother always said...
If it's too good to be true, then it probably is. If I got paid $50 for one of my blog entries, but had to pay $49.95 to get the lead, is it really a money making opportunity? I think not. My friend knows I'm starting out in the freelance industry and sent me this email she got about the company. I'm glad I researched it first. Not going to fall for it...

All these complaints about Freelance Home Writers, which I have to agree with, yet the ads from Google on the same page (and I understand that they help pay the bills), take you to guess where - your right - Freelance Home Writers. I just wonder if there could be more control over this total contradiction. How do find out who you can trust and who is just another scam set up by the same company? I am interested in this line of work at home business; can anyone suggest someone who is legitimate?

It is a scam. $2.95 is a lie. I d0 have their customer service number if it will help anyone. 1-800-750-7660.Lucky for me, not much on the card so hopefully they will be dropping me as soon as they don't get their bloodmoney.

I'm glad I decided to check this sight out. Now I know better than to sign up for this Free Lance Writing opportunty to make some money. It's so hard to find such lagitamate companies who are interested in writers!

I use to work for the company that handles calls for Freelance... the customer service # is good... 1-800-750-7660... but they dont have enough people answering the phones... when you call leave a detailed message stating your name and the last 4 digits of your credit card # (this is how they look you up)... someone will eventually get to the message and take care of everything without having to call you back... they should send you a confirmation email... if you dont SAY that you want a refund then they will not issue one... you have to let them know EXACTLY what you want... you can get ALLLLL of your money back except the $2.95

When you sign up it tells you about the $49.99... its just small and stated in a way that is hard to understand.
