Sharing my stupidity and loss of over 3000 dollars using SBFC
Do Not allow yourself to be impressed and taken by their professional phone manner or willingness to support your request.
My foolishness cost me over 3000 dollars and in return I got an incomplete Business Proposal and application requesting a Canadian Government guaranteed loan. In fact you can apply for this type of loan from almost any Canadian bank.
Once my brain turned back on and I realized this program wasn't worth the money I had paid. It was already too late. They had my money and inreturn I had an incomplete document and then they refused to return my phone calls.

If you choose to use this organization. Word of advise.
a) ask for a writen scope of work. What are you getting for your money.
b) get a documented agreement between you and SBFC, ensure its signed by them

** My loss is your gain. I will probably never see my money or the properly completed work I had paid for.
GO SEE YOUR BANK FIRST ! ! IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO DO A BUSINESS PLAN. FIND A GRAD STUDENT WHO COULD USE THE CASH TO HELP YOU DEVELOP IT AND WRITE IT FOR YOU.

After 19 years in business and developing business plans for many different companies, SBFC takes our client relationships very seriously. We consistently do the utmost to try to satisfy all of their needs.

With regards to this particular client, after fulfilling over and above the scope defined in our Letter of Engagement we are still awaiting (over 10 days) a response to a formal letter sent to them on October 23, 2009 before we would address any further concerns of the client. We are still awaiting their written response on the matter defined within our letter to them.

To summarize the issues relevant to this client:
 This particular client altered their business idea several times, opting to move from the purchase of an existing business-to an established franchise-to an independent company-and finally to purchasing an existing business once again.
 The original business plan was written and amended several times, free of charge, to accommodate the client’s business concept.
 Due to the nature of the client’s particular business, the client was informed that there were certain restrictions and criteria set forth by the government and financial institutions practices which they must meet in order to qualify for a limited number of government subsidized programs available to that type of business.
 The client was sent electronic copies of all information in advance for review and came into our offices in-person to sign off on all content and services provided to them.

SBFC went over and above, and free of charge to the client, our usual services defined in our Letter of Engagement. Our client was provided with the following services in addition to a formal written Letter of Engagement defining our responsibilities to the client including:
1. Numerous phone call consultations (in excess of 40± within a 3 week period) on topics unrelated to their specific business concept, often placed outside the normal hours of operation and to consultant’s private home lines;
2. Multiple (4) in-person consultations on their business concept and changes made throughout the process;
3. We actually accompanied the client to their financial institution meeting as requested.

We are saddened that they have chosen not to respond to our well-intended email sent on October 23, 2009. We sincerely feel disappointed that our business relationship with the client has faltered. We do feel that the client has great potential and skills to achieve success in their desired business enterprise and wish them good luck moving forward.

We are a small family business and we received a call on Nov. 5.2009 regarding our pylon sign outside of our place of business being. Brian Dudley Limited in Ajax, Ontario installed signs for some other business and accidentally broke our sign. We stated that it was okay as long as it was replaced. Brian Dudley Limited needed the artwork and we stated that we did not commission the sign company and that the landlord had done so over ten years ago. Brian Dudley Limited asked for the landlord's number and we freely gave it to them. More than a week had passed when they called again. Brian Dudley Limited asked us again about the artwork and we told them that we do not have the artwork. Brian Dudley Limited replied that they could not recreate the logo and we replied that they could take a digital photo from the existing sign at our place of business and recreate their own design themselves. However, we are sure that they are aware of that and were trying to sell us a new sign so that they would not have to replace the sign that they had broken as it would cost them money and time. We spoke to Brian himself as we wanted closure for what his company had done so that business could operated normally again as the sign principally brings traffic and revenue. Again, Brian said he could not replace the sign because he needed the artwork for one the logos and we decided to settle with the original sign without the logos and then he attempted to scheme us by selling a new sign. "You can get big colorful letters", he said. We asked him to replace the original sign and if he couldn't then to replace the sign without the logos and then Brian replied, "We will decide what to do and disconnected the phone abruptly". We called back asking when it was going to be replaced and he said, "leave it to us", and he again disconnected the phone abruptly. Although we tried speaking with Brian politely and intelligently to resolve this matter, Brian repeatedly disconnected the phone by default. Finally, our boss called and told him the bottom line. The story has not ended and it seems like it will get resolved. However, Brian Dudley has shown complete disregard, negligence, and courtesy for other people's property and may his lack of integrity fall upon his own head.
