Santander Consumer USA auto payment

My name is linda hern,
On 10/23/2016 my auto payment to santander consumer usa should have been received... I didn't worry because it usually shows up on my bank statement the 26th or 27th. On 10/26/2016 I received a call from a very rude woman at santander. She proceeded to say that my payment was returned do to insufficent funds, and that as a result my auto pay had been cancelled.
I went to my bank and obtained my statement, at the time in question I did in fact have enough funds, furthermore I still have the funds! Why must people lie? I have come to find out that do to computer maintenance no on line payments where allowed.
I attempted to pay my $246.93 payment without added fees, on 10/26/2016, 4 times on 10/27/2016, and again today (10/28/2016). I have called customer service numerous times to no avail, so today 10/28/2016 I will attempt to once again make my payment, plus any extra fees, & the $10.00 fee just to get my payment there.
I just don't understand why I am being penalized for their computer maintenance fowl up.
This must be resolved today as I am having major back surgery monday.

Also, I traded in the auto in question on 10/24/2016, santander should be receiving the amount quoted to my dealership within a week!

My desirable resolution, would be for any over payment be returned to me, along with any penalty fees and no bad remarks, etc. Sent to any credit agency.

Linda hern

Santander Consumer USA very bad support

I am a long time user of santander bank and must say that the worst thing they have is their support. I had a lot of issues and problems with santander bank and when I asked their supports for help they never did anything!
They just don't care about their customers, sometimes they are very rude and their behavior is very unprofessional.
If you are not their client then you are lucky. These people can't provide proper service.

Santander Consumer USA auto loan

Santander consumer usa, bought out citifinacial auto, who originally held my car loan! It has been a nightmare ever since! They have charged me numerous late fees and when I asked for proof in writing, I never received it! They had rude, people who could barely speak english call me up to 6 times a day for payments, so I filed a cease and desist order to stop the calls! They applied almost all of my payments to interest and after 7 years, my 2007 chevy cobalt still isn't paid for! To make a payment by phone they charge $10.87! And they mail their statements out 10 days before the payment is due! Other creditors give you a month before your payment is due! I will say that santander did have a few people who did work with me, but on july 21st, 2016, they had my car repossessed right out of my handicapped parking spot at approximately 10:00 pm! I have a life threatening illness, kidney disease and other health issues which they are aware of! I called them the next day to see what I could do to get the car back! Hopefully, I am getting my car back after paying $20, 310.78 to santander already! I have never had anything repossessed! It is so embarrassing! But, I need my car to get to the three doctors that I have to see, and I can't take public transportation because I have severe osteoporosis and can't walk, sometimes the pain is debilitating, and also kyphoplasty holding my spine together (form of cement). Sorry to all the other victims!

Santander Consumer USA vehicle loan

My loan was originated with wells fargo - when they sold the loan the interest compounded added another year to my payments - I continually asked them for reconciliation of the additional charges with no resolve. I eventually had to file for bankruptcy and they stopped taking my automated payments - and would not apply the checks by mail I was sending - I called numerous times to pay my payments and they said they had no record of my loan - the car loan was no long on my credit report - tried buying new vehicles only to be told I couldn't trade in my car because I had no title and when they called for payoff information they were informed they had no record of the loan - my bankruptcy was in sept 2013 - in july 2016 they came and repossessed the car without any notification and are charging me ridiculous fees - which if I don't pay my credit that I have worked so hard to reestablish will be ruined - I am so upset and don't know what to do

Santander Consumer USA lien release - santander put two lines on my car when I only had one.

I paid off my vehicle in november, 2015. Santander consumer placed two liens on my vehicle (although I only had one loan). When they bought over drive financial, they added another lien on my title. I paid off vehicle and for the life of me, I can't get santander consumer to issue a true copy of the alleged "second lien" that doesn't exist! They keep sending copies and the nys dmv does not accept that! So, I am stuck with a lien on my vehicle which I do not have!
Nys dmv doesn't acknowledge that the account numbers are the same on each account as well as the address of the bank. So, they just keep insisting I had two liens.
I have no idea why they insist on making this easy procedure to correct, so difficult. I requested a written letter stating I never had two loans/liens and can't get anyone to respond because the account is closed!
Horrible bank!

Santander Consumer USA everything about this company!

Do not I repeat do not deal with this company! High finance charges, the amount that I owe is different from what is said on the automated system, have made payments on time but yet my payoff balance keeps growing instead of decreasing-have yet to understand that! I've called customer service and have yet to speak to someone who speaks english! Asked to speak to a supervisor who was very insensitive and really not interested in helping me out! Wish I would have read the reviews and complaints on this company before signing my auto loan paperwork!

Santander Consumer USA customer service rep on chat

I made my first payment online on march 1st. Apparently no record was found. I got in touch over the phone on march 7th, because no record was there about my payment although I got an email was sent to me saying an online payment was made. I talk to ninfa online and I kept repeating myself. Paid no attention to what I said. Then ninfa terminate the chat because I said to pay attention and catch up because I already answered the questions asked. Numerous times at that. I am not a happy customer right now, and it is only the first payment. When I was told on the 7th that no records were found, I went to get a money order and sent it out right away. So I wouldn't be late on my payment. My first payment at that. I got an email today saying a payment will be made on the 15th. So I got in touch to see if it was going to be a double payment. And that is where ninfa came into the picture. After repeating myself numerous times, and ninfa asking the same question over and over, it got very frustrating. I felt like I was talking to the wall. I probably would of got my answer from the wall, though. I have never dealt with someone so rude in a customer service position. Especially when I am paying what I am through their company. You would think they would do whatever they can to make you happy, but apparently not. If you other customers ever have to deal with a ninfa, get out of their immediately! Or you will also have a horrible experience, too. Ninfa should get terminated the way he or she terminated the conversation when I am trying to figure out what is going on with my account and my money. Maybe ninfa should pay me for aggravation, and not helping me the way they should of been helping. Good luck to future customers that have to deal with ninfa!

Santander Consumer USA handling my car payment

I purchased a new automobile in dec. 2015. My first payment was scheduled for january 15, 2016. Normally, companies allow you to pay by phone with no extra charge. Santander charges 10.00 extra to pay by phone. So, for my second payment, I decided to mail it in. I mailed in a cashier's check. Santander tried to debit my savings account instead of just cashing the check. My bank stated that the check had not been paid. They asked for a copy of the check front and bank. But my bank said they could not provide this because the check had not been paid. I have talked to about 5 representatives. The bank tried to do a conference call to explain to santander that they couldn't provide a copy of the check. Santanader managers would come to the phone, put us on hold and then hang up.

I still don't have this issue resolved. There are incompetent and rude people working there. I would like this issue resolved as soon as possible as now my car payment is considered nine days past due.

I plan to re-finance my car within 6 months to get away from them as soon as possible. I hope no one finances a car or does business with them in the future.

Santander Consumer USA finance/interest

Price for my car was $15, 900 after we paid a large deposit of 7, 000 here at our local nissan dealership our payments equaled out to be $11, 000 including a $2000 service plan that we at the time didn't even know we paid for... Santander financed my $11, 000 for 60 payments of $319.. I bought my car in 2013, it is now 2016 and I have paid $10, 000 + on my car and I still owe $8, 111...? I have never been late on a payment and sometimes double up on payments until christmas time and I was late for the first time they reported me to the credit bureau. They might as well have just repod my car because my credit is worse now because of that report than it was before I got the car! I am so upset over all this and I can't blame anyone but myself for not reading the fine print or my salesman not telling me that I was paying 25, 000 dollars for a car that was priced at $15, 900 and I put 7, 000 down... I added it up and basically for 3 years santander is saying I only have paid like $37 a month on my car.. I feel so "screwed" also the reporting me to credit agency has ruined my chances of getting approved for a house now for my children and myself.. All because of santander.. Price in the website keeps saying I owe a different price than the automated system on the phone.. A major headache dealing with this... : (

Santander Consumer USA I lost two thousands. this sum missed from my account

I have opened the account in santanderconsumerusa inc. I have opened saving account and every month I needed to send money to this account. I have made 4 payments already and was really happy about it. But recently I asked to provide the bank statement and I found out that $2, 000 missed from my account. Seriously, how it is possible. The company hasn’t commented about it. Be careful and better don’t open any account through them.

You and I have the same exact issue. My vehicle was in a total loss accident on 11-22-15. My insurance company paid on the higher end of what the car valued at. After insurance payment, balanced owed is $6, 600. The GAP provider, Automotive Warranty Services, Inc., who is obviously partner with Santander only paid $168.30! They fricken stonewalled me! I'm getting an attorney for sure!

Santander Consumer USA auto

I financed a 2014 chrysler 300c through chrysler capital/santander consumer usa back on april 7 2015 in the amount of $23, 516.25 and my payment amount was fixed at $503.37 per month with per diem that accrues daily. I have been making my payments on time (ahead of time) since the first due date in may. I also have made extra payments in the amount of $300.00 to be applied to the principal only. These payments are being applied to my account correctly. The monthly payment of $503.37 is being applied to interest only on most of the payment as well as the $300.00 extra payments. I have contacted chrysler capital on numerous occasions and requested it be corrected. But still to date it has not been corrected. Its an ongoing process and practice that needs to stop. I would like as a resolution that the problem be corrected and provisions be put in place to prevent this practice from happening again to my account

Santander Consumer USA auto sales

I was going to buy a car from this company & I told them from the very beginning that I couldn't make my payments until after the 3rd of every month. After the paperwork was done I had to tell the hyundai dealership that I noticed the date for my payments were due on the 2nd & they said that santander would change it for me. Anyhow, when I was supposed to get my first payment notice in the mail it never came to me. Well, santander sent me a letter after the 1st payment was overdue & told me I now owed them the first & 2nd payment together plus late charges. I explained to them again that I never received the first payment & I also repeated myself that I cannot make any payments until after the 3rd of each month because I don't get my one & only check until the 3rd of each month. They kept calling me on the phone 7 days a week from 8 am to 10 pm at night & they kept on constantly harassing me. I tried to work it out with them but when I got my bill theykept on adding on more charges, so can you please help me because now I have no vehicle & I have 2 daughters that have very bad health problems & it is extremely difficult getting around. Because I need a vehicle desperately. Sincerely, jeri foote

Santander Consumer USA lied and frauded me out of money

I got into an accident for the first time in my life. Never had I been in one before so I called my lender "santander comsumer usa" to see what I should do. I called and explained that my deductible was 2000 dollars and could not afford to pay that. I asked what their policy was on making me pay the deductible and also what progressives policy was. She told me that progressive is one of the few insurance companies that does not make you pay the deductible upfront. That they just take it out of their estimate and give you a check for what is left after. I asked if I could use that money to get 1200 worth fixed on my car since that is the amount that would be left. She said yes. I asked if either company required me to pay the deductible first and she assured me they did not and I could send them the check and pick a body shop and get 1200 fixed and they would pay them. So I did and now they are telling me I have to get everything fixed before they will pay the body shop who fixed it. I complained to a manager who would not even give me the name of the woman who told me this and eventually complained to the office of the president. They told me they are sorry but there is nothing they can do. So the body shop fixed what they told me and now is not getting paid with the money they were sent from the insurance company. My insurance company told me I could have just had progressive pay him but santander lied to me so that I would send them the money and now won't pay the body shop and won't refund the money to the insurance company. I have nothing to describe this but fraud on santanders part.

Santander Consumer USA high interest rate

I co-signed on this car with my daughter on 11/1/11 at a very high interest rate of 24.99%. We should have refused the due to the high interest rate, but, she needed a car. The total amount financed was $14, 968.10, as of today 9/3/2015, the amount owed on the is $14, 677.57.in the beginning, we were adding an extra $100, and noticed the amount didn't move. Now, we are totally upside down on this car and seems as though we will be paying on this car forever. We have had many repairs done, and repairs still need to be done. I don't know if there is a resolution to this problem.

I bought a car through Santander C USA and I'm paying the 3rd month already, but the general amount of 17k does not move down. It's my first loa.. and it's not going like I thought it have to. I got 8.60 interest rate annually and I think it's too much I'm paying 11.5k in interest.
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem? Is any legal procedures to take against them?
Can I find another lender?
Thank you very much

I am going thru the same thing. Just had them send me the information to see why the principal amount was so high. It appears as if they are taking the entire payment and applying it to the interest only. I did not have a change in the amount owed from 12/25/2013 until July 2015 this year. When I would speak to the representatives I was told half the payment went to the principal amount and the other half to interest, but that is not how it was done at all. I am thinking of starting a class action suit with this company, what they are doing is unethical.

Contact Santander and ask them to mail you a payment spread sheet that shows you how much interest was paid each month and how much was applied to the principle was applied to the balance each month. This will show you where every dollar has gone in each payment since 11-1-11.
Just an opinion: it sounds like Santander may have applied "debters insurance" to the account. This is where an insurance company did not send them a copy of the auto insurance or Santander did not get one from the debter. If this is the case, show them a copy of your coverage from 11-1-11 to current and they will deduct it from the balance. Just an opinion

Santander Consumer USA ripoff

I got a car from carmax, which was financed through santander usa. The whole experience was horrible, harassing calls at home and work, would pick threat to repo. So finally after 4years of me dealing with that, I was on a 5yr term. I called to get the pay off amount because it was the new year and I had my tax return coming. They told me I owed 19, 000 dollars on a car that was originally 21, 000 but the blue book value was least than 6000. So I told them to come pick up on a voluntary surrender. They wouldn't, instead continued to call me saying that the repossession people have came to my job and house for the car which wasn't true. After that, I was so fed I asked them the name of the company over the repossession so I can go turn it in, the rep gave me the wrong location of which I still turned it in and got documentation from one of the clerks that the car was received by them. Finally I had to fax over the paperwork I had to them that I turned in the car and I informed them that the broke the law continuing to call my job after I told the rep to seize. I would like to see this repo taken off of my credit report, I can be contacted at [protected]@hotmail.com

Santander Consumer USA car repossession fraud

Purchased a 2014 checy cruze in december 2014.. After 45 days of owning the car, the dealership informed me that the bank backed out.. I had to go in and find another lender. I was out a bankruptcy for about 10 months and excited to rebuild. The car was refinanced under santander. Two months after purchasing the vehicle, I lost my job. No problem, things happen. I called and made arrangements to pay $100 weekly off of my $307 weekly unemployment.in may 21, 2015, I woke up to make my $100 payment, which I paid just the week before, and my car was gone. They told me I had to pay them $399 to get it back, plus tow fees, etc. Then, I was informed that I need to pay $700 plus $ to retrieve my vehicle.. All my personal belongings, car seats, etc, gone. What a run around I got.. They requested a bank statement faxed, I faxed it and they stated they saw something scanned in, and to give it a day. That turned into we don't see it, can you fax it again. Still nothing.. What kind of protection do we have against these creeps? Even the tow company goes through your things in the car and personally labels and tags them.. I have lost out on so much because of this. The value of the car seemed to have increased at least $4000 as well. They sold the car quickly in june, and stated I have a $9000 balance.. Is there a way to start a class action suit? Who helps the hard working people against the big companies?

Santander Consumer USA business ethics

This is by far one of the worst scamming auto finance companies there is. To start my credit was not that good when the dealer went to santander consumer usa for approval; my fico at that time was 690, which I later found out was good. My payments were on time for over 3 years and I have always paid $60 over my monthly payment, the secondary market in which santander operates is plagued with similar companies but santander takes the icing on this. Just try calling their customer service line and find out how long it takes to get a live operator online or if you wanna make a payment over the telephone and you’ll find out that you’ll get charged extra for such dare.in my case, to not have any late payments, or god forbid you forget to make a payment or send it in, there’s no way you can make a payment except go online, try to make it through their website which is gonna charge extra for being late. I had set up automatic payments from my bank on their website, big mistake! In more than one occasion I was charged twice in the same month when I called to complaint they told there was nothing they could do and any refunds will have to take up to 3 weeks to be returned. When I stop payment because they already had taken twice my payment, I was slammed with late payment fees and even repossession threats. Their customer service is so undesirable and unwilling to help in any way, that overtime I have called I just get frustrated. How is it possible that the government allows foreign companies such as santander to operate unscrupulously in the us? Where is the ftc and how come no other federal agency investigates these companies?
