YES this is a scam!
The ad was posted in penny saver 10819 March 17, 2010 for Corporate expanding! Accepting interviews! Hiring immediately several openings. No experience necessary. To $775/Week [protected].
I went ahead and paid ($60.oo for background check fee). The person demostrated the product with a piece of paper that was treated with the flame ###ant and how it stop it from burning the paper.
I went in for thier fake training and the person who is running the office was delegting the training by giving her story and how she also gave her $60.00 and $99.00 kit to become a manager for any location she wanted. Before she started the training she went around and collected the kit fee of $99.00 from each person who was in the room. They gave us this cheesy brief case with a Dri-One flame ###ant spray, a lighter, a lighter fluid, also with pie aluminum tray, a binder with safety pro information and product prices.
Now when she was almost done with the training is when she announced the catch which is that in order to get manager position we would have to sell our products to our families and friends up to $3000 of products and that it would be deliver to them. I know I am not the only one who was cheated from this company but to rip off people who are down in luck with unemployment that is just wrong. This company is vulturing on desperated people who are trying to make money to get out of jobless cituations and feed their families.

OK I went through everything. I worked a full time job and went to the safety pro training at night. I was given an office... GIVEN in the sense of... Hey here is an office and you can take over from the previous manager because she decided to quit. I went a state away... alone... no money... slept on the floor in the back of my office... Found out you are out of pocket to pay for the office and your office furniture. I was supposed to sign papers taking over the previous managers cost... i.e... the furniture and the lease agreement on the location... I contacted my supposed employees who I gave pep talks to on selling... See you don't get paid unless they make sales... If they don't make sales you get nothing... so I was at my "office" for almost a month and had decided to wait to sign anything putting it in my name especially because I had no money and was living on potted meat sandwiches in the back of my office. Nobody was selling anything... I organized a car wash to pay for smoke alarms to be given to low income people... I had many ideas about how to get the name out there... THE PRODUCTS ARE AWESOME... I got what was supposed to be my first paycheck... It said... YOU OWE US $120.00 for your licensing fee... or something like that... it's been quite a few years ago... 2001... I was devastated... I could no longer even afford the potted meat. And my employees were non productive. So I called them and said you can have your office. They tried to tell me I had contracts for the space and the furniture, that's when I informed them I SIGNED NOTHING.
If you are independently wealthy and can afford to open a office with high end furnishing and not see a profit for quite a few months... then by all means go for it... but it isn't what it is made out to be... PLEASE be warned... They aren't allowed to tell you any of this till you GRADUATE and get your own office in whatever state chosen

It's 2015 and apparently this fake company is still at it. I am supposed to go on an interview tomorrow at 11am because I need a job badly and I have degrees in Fire & Technology and Public Safety & Emergency Management but after hearing I need to pay $60 for a background check I became suspicious. I Googled the so called Safety Pro and found out just now it's a scam. Thank you to all on this site who provided this helpful information and saved me $60 I don't have right now. I am calling the better business bureau today and report them immediately. In a time where people need jobs companies such as Safety Pro should not scam people.

It is now July 2012 and these guys are still doing it. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. If it is some kind of home business, check it out before surrendering a penny. All I had to do was plug the phone number into the search engine to find out about this company. A job should not cost you anything up front. Additionally, most home based businesses are pyramid schemes at best. Do not get involved. Go to a reputable employment agency (such as One Stop) or Google any city name to find out about jobs and help. If you are disabled in any way, sign up with Dept of Rehabilitation for help. If you are a veteran, there are special organizations to help you out. Where the Recycler is concerned, I have yet to see/find a legitimate job offered that does not cost you money up front.

I had an interview with these people around 10 years ago. I am also shocked to see them still at it. I paid the $60 background check fee. I didn't feel exactly comfortable with it, so I checked with the BBB here in Arkansas and found out that I didn't need to go back and give them anymore money. Like I said I'm shocked they're still around

I used to live in Covina, and around [protected] I went for an interview for a position with Safety Pro Inc because I was desperate for a job. I can't believe these guys are still in business, and still doing the same thing as they did to me. It's true, these guys have a fake front, get people to go to interviews and get them to submit a $60 non-refundable background check fee. You pay, on the spot, $60 for a background check, not them, YOU. Then you have to buy the kit and training materials. Fortunately, I caught on before I bought the kit, but I stupidly did give them $60 just by going to "interview". I fought to have it returned, but they said it was non-refundable and it's on the agreement. So, don't ever trust these people. It's basically a "legal" scam, one that is right in the gray area. I was desperate for a job, I only had $300 left on my bank account, and that desperation blinded me enough to give them $60 for no good reason. Just that if you read this, now you know what you are dealing with.

so i call from a add in the penny saver and scheduled a interview with these people, so i went in and they sat me down in a room to fill out a application with questions that anyone would answer yes to. so i filled it out and then this lady started to do a presentation about the company and the products and showed a video, then she started going threw the steps of getting hired the whole time she was talking very fast and like she was reading something that she has memorized, witch none said i had to sale $3000 worth of products before being considered to be a manager. so i go into my interview and it went well i was told i was hired on the spot...hmmm...that was a little too easy so right after that i was told i had to get a background check and it cost $60 i thought this was wired because i have had several background checks for previous jobs and have never had to pay for one and every single background check i have had i had to go get finger printed so investigated, i called the police department and told them the whole story they said in order for a business to obtain a full background check as in criminal and financial you need to be finger printed and if not all they can obtain is a financial background check, so i am going to request my background check from them if they cant provide it then i will involve police, i will come back and update what happen, well at the training she started to teach us about the products and there prices and how to sale the products and after we signed the contract they told you you had to sale a minimum of $3000 to be considered office manager? i was like you never told us about this and they said you were told in your interview and i said no i wasnt and the showed my application it explains that in fine print on the BACK of my application? who puts a paper in front of you with a pen and tells you to read and sign it and not tell you the fine print is on the back? and there is fine print on the front to throw you off too, sounds pretty grimey if id say! so i started being skeptical and this is the point i called the police about the back ground check well i was thinking i should do a little research and there were bad complaints everywhere, and this company had a f rating from the better business burrow also this company says there products are accredited by the NFPA and also ANTSI, well think again i contacted both organization and they both said they DO NOT ACCREDIT SAFETY PRO INC. so they are lying straight to everyones faces i mean check out the membership certificate for safety pro from the NFPA its dated March 1992 hmmm thats a little fishy because the company started in 1995. so if you get a interview with this place DONT GO STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE THEY ARE LIARS AND WILL TAKE ALL OF YOUR MONEY!

Well I also went in for the intervieW and was told to pay the 60 dollars and I did pay them because they told me the same exact thing thT they were using it for a background check and actually tomorrow I'm suppose to have training and pay the 99 dollar fee but thanks to this website I will not be giving them any more of my money. I already lost 60 I don't want to lose any more!
It is a scam! ... If they tell you the same thing u should think twice before giving them any money plus when you get hired you shouldnt have to pay for anything... Just keep thAt in mind! :)

Hello,
Safety Pro uses a tactic of "bait and switch". They advertise a job that is "too good to be true" for a traditional brick and mortar business. They put the $60 background check (they can be gotten for $20 or less easily) on the applicant so if they bail on the training "it's their loss, not the companies" this is a quote from the West Covina Manager. The education consists of an introductory video, an "application" with a third grade version of a psychometric personality test--in other words, it is clear that if you say "no" or "yes" to some questions you will not be "hired". This uses a psychological principle known as belonging that works very well with low self-esteem people. (To not see this would suggest a sub 100 IQ.)

My interview was conducted by a 20 year old young woman with a memorized speech.
The validity or not of the other claims can only be verified by those who go through the Direct Sales maze with Safety Pro. Direct Sales and MLM are very challenging to people with or without low self-esteem. Commission only with no lead support and only the abilities of this young girl to "get them through" requires a desperate hunger on the part of the applicant or a very specific out going personality type who thrives on this type of "I will get them" "I can win at any cost" mentality. With ethics, it's a great, positive mentality. It is about 3% of the population.

So this "opportunity" is weighted towards the Safety Pro people who play "Bait and Switch" and then sell a "Bait and Switch" office to their highly skilled "Bait and Switch" Sales/Manager people. There are surprisingly few complaints based on how they run the "interview" and "training". If the product is good, then there might be a good opportunity to run this like a real business instead of a "Ponzi Scheme."

Safety pro is not a scam it is a way to make your life better if you think neg. your not going to make anything out of yourself. All they are doing is training people to have drive and how to make something out of yourself...what you think they are just going to give you a great job right off they back...NNOOO...You need to prove to people that you are hard working and you do have the skills to work for them...KEEP THINKING NEG. YOU WONT MAKE IT ANYWHERE..

What's the scam? What made the training fake? Who is this person anyway? We educate people on fires. It will take the average home 3-5 minutes to get to the point where no one could survive. 4000 people die in those fires mostly children. Selling to family and friends is a suggestion. Those are the people I don't want to see die in a fire. Actually I don't want anyone to die in a fire.

There are 5 steps to complete to become a manager. The 1st step is to sell $3, 000 dollars worth of products through education. Haveing the proper equipment could stop the spread of fires and saving lives. When that person left the interview prior to the training they knew and signed a contract that stated they had to sell $3, 000.

Before that person came to us their siutation was already bad. We did not cause the economic crisis nor their unemployment. It is up to each individual to complete the steps. If you don't complete the steps the position is impossible.

That person left without giving themselves a chance. They are ashamed of themselves that why you don't know who they are. If they did not understand or had trouble getting started they were told to come back and we will help them grow where they lack.

Remember they don't have an office so don'r believe them. I have a beautiful office. I followed and completed the same 5 steps that I taught that person to do. It worked for me and it can work for them. Non only do I have my own office AND I AM THE BOSS. NO ONE TELLS ME WHAT TO DO. Join me and call me at [protected] and I will teach you too
