I signed a FIVE year contract with Safeguard. I then sold my home and wanted to cancel the service so I called and the lady said you signed a SIX year contract!

I said no I most certainly did not so I pulled out my contract and the *** that installed my system scratched through the five years and wrote six AFTER I had signed it. Trying to get any help from customer service was hopeless. So I sucked it up and payed for a service I don't need or use just to protect my credit, then suddenly I get a huge hit to my perfect credit score... guess who? They said I never canceled my service and I DID! I fulfilled their shady contract and they still charged me after the five years!

I'm now trying to get their BS off my credit report.

AVOID this company at all cost.I would rather have my house broken into every month!

We were told that the contract was transferable. We sold our house thinking the new owners would take over our contract, we were told this, but this is not the case. The new owners have our service and are paying for it but SO ARE WE! They will not stop pulling the money out they said because we are still under contract to pay it. This company are liars and cheats. Do not go with them and don't believe anything they say

This company told my mother-in-law that she had won a free security system. So she let them install it, then sent her a bill for $856.00. My father-in-law paid it.
ISN'T THIS ILLEGAL? EXPLOTATION OF SENIOR CITIZENS WITH DEMENTIA AND ALZHEIMER'S?

I don't know how old this post is, but myself and two others in my neighborhood have Safeguard America, doing business as Safe Home Security and our contracts are three years. Prior to the expiration of the date of the contract, you have to write a 60 day cancellation letter to both companies. Safe Home is located in Connecticut and Safeguard is located in Florida. Send Certified return receipt and Federal Express for both forms of signatures. I'm doing mine 75 days prior to my expiration to be on the safe side.
