Royal Flush Havanese puppy mill

My mother purchased two Havanese from Holly, and was told the same lies and encountered the very same circumstances. After bringing the initial pup home, it immediately became apparent he was absolutely terror stricken of any type of confinement, had severe separation anxiety, and she went through months and months of unexplainable fear related behaviors. To the extent of inconsolable shaking, and essentially panic attacks. And yes, the vet himself described them as panic attacks. When she went to pick him up, Holly was not there. He was in a small concrete room, by himself, with no other dogs to be seen or heard. He was not housebroken, nor was he socialized. Despite this, having not seen the information now becoming known about Royal Havanese, she just assumed she got a 'hard case.' Mom later received an email regarding 'discounted' sales on some of her 'main breeders, ' and thought a companion might help ease the first pup's anxiety issues. Mom flew out of state to pick up the dog that was shown with long curly hair, only to arrive to the poor baby having been chopped up into ragged tufts of hair. MY guess was it was easier to just cut the mats out. She got her home and she was terrified of any sudden hand movements and would cower when you reached to pet her. Still does with strangers. Her teeth were in such bad shape they were permanently damaged, and some even had to be removed. And, surprise, surprise, she is unable to bark. Just a strange little chirp. Which is inductive of the vocals being 'debarked.' She can dispute, raise hell, or threaten legal action, but I have seen and watched both of these dogs go through remarkable transformations after MONTHS of kindness, trust building, and positive reinforced behavior training. The older of the two still shies away from anyone new, and it takes many, many encounters with her to gain any type of trust or interaction. I tell my Mom all the time, that she SAVED both these dogs. I am so grateful that Mom was largely unaware when she bought the second, because I truly believe she has brought Heaven on Earth to her. It truly turns my stomach to think of the deplorable life she must have had. And God knows how many countless others. Now I am by no means a Bible thumper, but I will say this. Holly has some judgment coming her way one day, and she knows in her heart, it to be true. Just remember, you reap what you sow. Shame on you.

You can continue to repeat your standard rebuttal. As I mentioned, my mother purchased two of your dogs. I'm well aware of your policies, your practices and your business methods. Down to the fact that you only stand by your health guarantee if the buyer purchases your specific food and vitamins for the life of the pet. There's nothing more to be said, other than to mirror your very own advice. Let the buyer do their research. The day will come when you can no longer side step, tap dance and manipulate the reality of your puppy mill practices. I hope for the dogs sakes, that this day comes sooner than later. For the last time, shame on you, Holly.

Lastly, but certainly not least, the health guarantee requires the return of the dog. Who would ever be able to give back a family member, once brought into the house?

This person, myself, did copy and paste this to several sites in an effort to reach as many reviewers as possible. Everything stated in the complaint is factual and irrefutable. The response given by Holly is the standard rebuttal given to all negative comments posted against her deplorable business exploits. If you take the time to look up other reviewers, you will find a common theme in all of their concerns. One being expressed by an actual member of the SPCA. My sole purpose is to provide the truth to consumers as to what they are unknowingly getting themselves into. I would never irresponsibly or unjustifiably disparage any business with integrity and good intentions. My concern here is for the animals. And despite any further rebuttals, Holly knows these comments to be true at the end if the day. Again, shame on you. You are a blemish on the world of people who strive to provide the most loving and stable environment for their cherished pets. Animals lives and well beings are worth far more than you'll ever have the capacity, or conscience, for that matter, to provide.

I would just like to remind consumers that just because a breeding facility is "inspected" by the SPCA, or USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS)-- that doesn't mean it's any sort of "respectable" breeding operation. All they inspect for is that the pups have clean water & ample food supplies, the dog/puppy areas are clean (enough), and are protected from extremes in temperature and weather.

They have no clue if a dog is groomed often enough, vet checked often enough, socialized, or given adequate amounts of exercise, or not. Their standards are very low when it comes to breeding and raising QUALITY puppies free of illness and behavior problems. So a breeder "bragging" that they have been inspected by [insert group here] doesn't mean all that much in the long run.

As far as mentioning the AKC inspecting a breeding facility, the AKC DOES NOT guarantee breeder reliability or respectability. Most of the time, the AKC relies on the local SPCA or APHIS to inspect breeding facilities and send the report to the AKC. And that usually happens only if there are enough complaints and or inquiries into a specific breeding facility or breeder. The AKC is more concerned with verifying the parentage of the litters people want to register as "purebred" and that's what they are good at.

Anyway- I am very disheartened to be learning that the breeder who sold me MY Havanese nearly 2 years ago, (Royal Flush Havanese), is sounding more and more like a puppy mill.

I had researched and investigated them for *months* before I decided to pay an exorbitant amount of money for a 9-week old puppy. I am very knowledgeable and well informed about the red flags and signs of puppy mills, unscrupulous backyard-breeders, pet shops, etc., but I'm realizing that even I was DUPED.

My dog is just about 2 years old now and has "unexplained" fear-based behavior issues and socialization issues, to the point of hair-trigger reactiveness and aggression. This is EXTREMELY rare in the Havanese breed.

I have raised numerous mixed and purebred puppies and rescued/adopted adult dogs for more than 45 years never encountering this kind of problem. So I am concluding the problems originated with bad breeding and non-existent socialization at Royal Flush Havanese.

Now the real work and hopes begin to remedy these issues before my dog hurts someone, maybe even in my own home. I've already spent hundreds of dollars on professional puppy training the first year, now I will be putting out (literally) $1000 or more for behavior correction. I hope it works. PLEASE don't buy from Royal Flush Havanese. Save yourself the heartbreak and the $$.

Royal Flush Havanese breeding facility

We picked our pup up and the facility had broken down vehicles and animals wandering around property. When entering the stench was being covered up, but it smelled! They brought out the mother of our pup after 20 min and she looked sick and was not clean and very careful not to get our pup to close. Our pup vomited on a 8 hr trip home!
Our pup went into ER hosp, 2 days later with parasites and was only two pounds and always felt and stated it was not the same dog in pictures that had been doctored. Vet said she is not 11 weeks old!
Her teeth are not in for that age! This Holly and her Amber and Charlotte should be ashamed of these puppy mills their running in Ft.Myers and in RI
I'd like to put them in there for a week!

Royal Flush Havanese puppy mill

I am a employee of Royal Flush Havanese in Florida and I have never worked for such a horrible person. Holly claims that she cares about the dogs but she refusing to do anything about the ticks that have been on the dogs for months. I tried getting her to get flea and tick shampoo before it became a huge issue but she refused saying there is nothing 100% safe which is a lie if I ever heard one. She fired her entire staff right before hurricane Irma hit and is now trying to get money to move back to Florida. What about all the money she saved by firing everyone?

Royal Flush Havanese general customer service — not listening to the customer

I have a 27 truck fleet in the Atlanta area...we are a Plumbing service Company, down time on our fleet is very costly...so when I need parts we try to pre-order when possible, on occasion we will purchase the parts and go pick them up our self, saving valuable time for us and the company we order from, we have driven over 400 miles to make this happen, how ever to day I tried to purchase two calipers for one of our Sprinter service trucks, I explained to the sales manager at the hwy 138 store in Conyers Ga. that I wanted to purchase these items and then drive to the Lake City location and pick them up, she said nothing to me and went to her computer and placed the order then told me they would be here late this afternoon, I told her that I wanted to pick them up to save time, I could have them back and the truck on the road before they could have them delivered, she said that couldn't happen because she had already ordered them, I ask her to cancel them and I would purchase them at the pick up location, she said she couldn't cancel them, and that was the only ones at the warehouse and now I am stuck waiting on them...this could have all been prevented if they would qualify the customer before taking action...this has cost our company a half days work out of that vehicle, simply because she didn't listen and then had no solution to the problem...I can not believe that an order can not be canceled or placed in a customer pick up mode...I do this quite often with O'Reilly and it isn't a problem...guess we need to keep our eggs in one basket, and not shop around

The really sad thing is people are who fund this. I think she may have started out as a responsible breeder but money has taken over responsibility. These dogs do stay in steel cages, 2-3 per cage. They are let out for bathroom use, social use, and breeding. Then hustled back into their cages. They are not subjected to walks and smelling and rolling around in the grass. The mothers who have given birth are kept in a separate room with their babies, the room is unbelievable hot and uncomfortable, breeding ground for bacteria. The mothers are so use to this lifestyle they don't bark or nip when anyone grabs there babies, even as newborns. Shifts run crazy, their is way too much to do, too many dogs, for the 4 hour, 3 hour shifts. The crazy thing is she has 2 vizslas that can run in and out as they please.
If this kind of work passes as legitimate then there is no NO faith left for humanity. I know in-home breeders whose dogs are only allowed 4 litters a life and it starts during their 3rd year and every year after. The dog runs and plays and goes on walks and has a bed in the family room. The dog is not bred as soon as it turns heat until it dries up. The dog is not kept in a cage and tended to by workers. The dog is happy and loves and protects her pups which provides for great dogs.
The reason these dogs are penned all day, no normal outside activity is because the owner claims DISEASE DISEASE DISEASE these are dogs, animals. Which would mean a thorough check up by an actual Veterinarian. Who pays for the well being and happiness of living creatures? That's just absurd right. This place is no different then Rumford Pet Center... Which was forced to get rid of its dogs... She soon will be too if she doesn't shape up and treat them with a bit more respect and care.
I honestly don't even know where the dogs on her website came from... I've never see those dogs or at least looking that nice in her home or the cages.
All the pictures are backgrounds those dogs are never let outside! When a client calls for a picture we grab the pup or dog and bring it to a little station with all these props and snap a picture. Of course the dog is happy during the picture because it gets an extra few minutes outside of its cage.
If this doesn't turn you off about this owner then nothing will. There is a pup there who was purchased and then the owner never came to pick him up. He still sits in his cage. Instead of revoking the buyers right to own this animal she allows him to sit in the cage and charges a boarding fee. How shameful. How hard is it to give back the persons money and resell to a better suited individual. Exactly.

I think it is terrible that this so called "complaints board" even exists. Anyone who wants to destroy the reputation of an individual or business is given carte blanche to do so, with impunity. I would say it is very unlikely that Royal Flush Havanese is a puppy mill. She sounds like a reputable dog breeder to me.

Why don't you people go after the real puppy mills and pet stores selling puppies from Malaysia and the Pennsylvania Amish puppy mills - and leave caring, responsible breeders alone?

Royal Flush Havanese terrible experience

Royal Flush Plumbing and Heating
www.royalflushplumbingandheating.com

Apex Construction Services Inc
www.apexconstructionservices.com

I hired Royal Flush to do over my bathroom. They hired Apex Construction to do the carpentry. Apex did not estimate the job correctly so the job was a lot more then was expected. To get some of his money back, Zac, from Royal Flush told me in order to have a grey sink, like my tub and toilet were, it would have to be made because there was no such thing as a gray sink ? He charged me around $1,000 for a new sink. When he had come out to speak with me about what I wanted I told him I wanted all gray he said that was no problem, it could be done. I also said I wanted a glass enclosure on the tub. At the end of the construction he claimed his company didn't do glass enclosures that I would have to do that on my own. I fought with him until he did it. For two years I had a leak which disintregated the wall by my tub. Each time Apex or Royal would come out they could not find anything wrong, or they would find that whoever put the on off thing in the tub had not used a black ring ? There were so many places where light could be seen on the backside of the tub wall. They also did not use the correct wallboard. He also overcharged me for the faucet on the sink, saying it was a delux model. I guess anything goes to make up some money because of Apex's blunder.
