Rooms To Go bait and switch misleading pricing and advertisements

I went to Rooms to Go with my nephew on 7/19/2017 at approximately 5:15pm and our salesperson was named John. We decided to purchase a Kitchen Table and Chairs for $475.00 and considering some theater seats for 1, 500.00 and Bedroom Set for $699.00 and would also need a mattress but we didn't get that far. I have pictures of the ad and bedroom set that was listed at price of $699.00 but the form will not allow me to upload them. We picked out the bedroom set and we were informed that headboard and dresser that we wanted would make the Queen Set cost $1, 094.00. We questioned the salesmen and said no its right here in the picture for $699.00. We were told that no we have to look at the back of the panel to get the pricing for the set the way we wanted. Again we stated that it is right in the picture the way we want it for $699.00 and expect that price to be honored. We requested to speak with the manager and were informed that the manager was not on duty. We then requested the District Managers number. The salesmen than left and was gone for about 5 minutes and when he came back he stated he did not know the District Manger's number. I than asked him way didn't he state that before he disappeared for over 5 minutes. He than stated we could call the manager and gave us a business card with manager's name and the number to the store. We requested the Manager's cell number and I don't remember if he stated he didn't know the Manager's cell number or if she didn't have one. He again stated that we could not get the set for price in the picture of $699.00. As we were leaving he than stated that he couldn't help that I was an idiot and could not read and if I thought the rug also came with the bedroom set for $699.00 as well, in a much louder and aggressive tone. I replied back in a much louder and aggressive tone also an stated no only the rug on his head was included for that price. I also let him know that if he wants to yell I would be happy to yell back and in a loud tone I let him know that I would be filing a complaint with your office and that in my opinion this is a classic example of bait and switch and misleading advertisement. As stated above I have pictures of the ad and display for your review. If your office can determine that the options in the ad are not for the advertised price of $699.00 than I guess I am an idiot.

In closing please feel free to contact me should your require additional information and if there is a way that I can forward the advertisement and store display photos to your office. Thank you in advance for time and possible review of this misleading advertising and sales tactics employed by Rooms To Go. I am sure that I am not the only Florida resident to be lured into the store by this practice.

Pictures and now enclosed. You be the Judge of this deceiving practice by rooms to go in Clearwater Florida and I am sure it goes on nationwide.

Rooms To Go ridiculous delivery fees

I have been a loyal customer for years for rooms to go. I've never has to complain about anything I have purchased. Yesterday I purchased 2 pieces for a guest room. A bed and a night stand... I would have wanted to get the 2nd... But really charge for each piece for delivery! That is totally ridiculous. I was charged $65 for a bed (headboard, footboard and rails) and $30 for a small nightstand... Again I would have loved to get the other nightstand as I loved the set I bought but to have to pay an extra $30... That was a huge discouragement for me. Shame on you rtc. I will probably be takin my taking my business elsewhere.

Rooms To Go leather sofa

I see someone else had the same experience I had on 1/11/15 color fading off. I even purchased leather protector and extended warranty. Another $378.00. Someone came out and touch up the color, but as soon as I applied leather condition color came off, on my cloth! have called to no avail, nasty people in customer service and extended warranty, must be trained that way. wish I had read these comments before I purchased anything from them. This was the second time, we purchased! Never buy LEATHER from Rooms to Go. who knows if it really is leather. 5/10/16 it wasn't even two years old and I have extended warranty, not that it did much for me. Sorry we can't do a thing for you. I have been upset and cried, but I feel I need to warn other people, DON'T do it don't buy from rooms to go! You've been WARNED!

First, let me say that if you can not tell fake leather from real leather you should not be buying leather. Second, if you do know leather, you know that leather is dried animal skin. Dried animal skin does not come pastel, or green, or pink, etc. It is dyed to whatever color you choose. Just like with fabric, dyes can fade, or come off with chemicals. One thing that can protect your leather coloring, is to make sure your leather products do not have continuous contact with sunlight. This can fade and even wear your leather. You also need to make sure you use the leather conditioner suggested by the product's manufacturer.

Leather is not guaranteed to never lose it's color. You can keep it pretty for a number of years, but wear and tear, and the natural oils from your body, or animals, or chemicals all play a part in how long your leather will last.

PS..you could have this issue no matter where you buy your leather.

Rooms To Go rooms to go furniture

Purchased a living room set with options spent over 5, 000
when furniture showed up the lamps had some dents in them so we called store we purchased from and we where told we would have to have the company send a truck to pick these 2 lamps up(of course you get charged for this)then we had to go back to the showroom and pick out two more, the lamps we got where about 465, 00 more than the others and that was no problem until they where shipped to use ! Totally different color once again wait for a truck to pick up so on and so on...we still have the lamps in their boxes, , never used..This company does not allow returns for your money back...all you can do is exchange ...Terrible way to run a buiseness..We will never purchase from ROOMS TO GO again Definitely lost a good paying customer

Rooms To Go langdon point loveseat

I purchased a Langdon Point loveseat on the internet on 4-11-16 for $687.37 including shipping. The first loveseat was delivered but it was torn and a replacement was ordered and delivered on 4-22-16. On 5-6-16 the loveseat was reduced in price to $475. I called Rooms to Go to see if I could have a refund for the difference in price since it had only been 12 days since I received the loveseat and was told "sorry". I asked if I could have the Langdon Point drinkholder/recliner loveseat instead for the price I paid of $687.37 and was again told "sorry we can't do that". This is poor business since only 12 days had passed since I received the original loveseat. I will not shop at this store again!

Rooms To Go customer service

I bought a headboard, night stand, chest of drawers, queen mattress and box spring, and queen bed frame from Jennifer Chao at store 2304 in Stafford on 4/20/16. I didn't buy the rails and footboard to the bed because I was afraid of the room size and whether it would fit. Jennifer didn't tell me that the frame she was selling me wouldn't fit the headboard causing the headboard to have to lean against the wall in a dangerous manner. If she had told me that I would have bought the rails and footboard along with the other items-she would have made more money! I told this to the customer service rep who called me after the delivery and she contacted Jennifer who called me. I was trying to tell her that she didn't share that the frame wouldn't fit the headboard when we were in the store and that if she had I would have bought it. She was VERY aggressive and kept telling me that it was my fault because I said I wanted the frame only. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she put me on hold for 20 minutes and then the call was hung up. The funny thing is that I really wanted to buy the rails and footboard and would have done so after telling the supervisor that he needed to tell Jennifer to share important details like: "the bedframe you are buying won't fit the headboard" with potential buyers so that they don't make mistakes like the one I made.

Rooms To Go living room set.

I purchased a living room set from Rooms to go and was told the I was buying a real leather sofa. I purchased the leather protection as well, which wasn't cheap. 3 years after I purchased it, the couch stated pealing. I called them and they have me a quarter of the cost of the whole set to replace my couch and loveseat. Unfortunately, the amount they have didn't even cover the price of the loveseat much less both. It's been 5 years now and my recliner has no "leather" in the seat, back and arms. The loveseat has a huge area on the arm and the seats that have pealed and the cushions on the couch are flat and it's starting to peel. I bought this furniture expecting it to last and paid a large amount for it, now I have to replace everything. I'm very upset about it and will never shop there again.

The worst quality aver ! I purchased a dining set 6 mounts ago and now it's need to go to the garbage ! The sectional sofa is saggy and a comfortable, the fabric protection doesn't protect, the swivel chair broke done ! The stone table looks like it has been 20 years old because everything stains on it and doesn't come out even if I rob it million time ! Over all the rooms to go is a wast of money !

Rooms To Go sectional / damaged goods and horrible delivery timing

We purchased a sectional about 4 weeks ago and paid the ridiculous fee for delivery. waited 2 weeks for it to arrive. Three men incompetently tried to fit it in the door by ramming and sliding it to make it fit. The problem was the ottoman was wrapped up in it making it too wide. When the men took the wrapping off of the sectional, there were marks all over the sectional. Some areas looked almost like black grease. We called and reported the problem and was told because we paid for the cloth protection, a warm washcloth would get the stains out. This was completely unacceptable however I did try to remove one of the smaller stains out of curiosity and quickly found that it was pointless, therefore leading me to believe we probably paid extra for the cloth protection and it hasn't been treated! Customer service set up an exchange for a new sectional another 2 weeks later and the huge time window to sit and wait for delivery was 1-5...at 4:45 we get a call saying it may be as late as 7pm. This is completely ridiculous. We will NEVER NEVER NEVER purchase anything else from rooms to go and will make every effort to tell everyone about our horrible experience so no one else has to go through this!

Rooms To Go lies.. living room set

Rooms to go is the worst experience I have ever had with a furniture place! I got a living room set beck in December of 2015 for my dad who is . It took them 6 weeks to deliver it and the recliner that they brought with the set was incorrect. They left the wrong recliner and gave us another month to wait on the correct recliner.. we needed a powered recliner . Rooms to go called 3 times to make sure we got the correct POWERED recliner on order. Today rooms to go delivered our long awaited recliner and it was incorrect NOT POWERED AGAIN.***** UPDATE**** I called costumer service to see what the problem was. They tell me after waiting for 3 months that they don't have a POWERED Recliner. I should go to the store. I go to the store and they tell me to call customer service. SO WHY I ask would I be waiting for 3 months for a POWER recliner that doesn't exist. We sent it back 3 time. had it ordered 3 times so that they can tell me in February that we have been waiting on a recliner that they don't even have. I want my money back and this living room gone ASAP! Family and friend I Hope you never shop in this furniture store. I will also make sure to go on every website that rooms to go has and give you the amazing review that you need

Rooms To Go home theater furniture

I bought a set of home theater reclining furniture a few months ago, at first it seemed comfortable but now after a few months I notice that I am sinking into the seat as if there was not enough support and the lower back area is not offering enough support either. I find myself pulling myself up to not feel like I'm deeply sinking into the seat but it does not help. I'm having to place a pillow behind my lower back for support as well. I would like to have a replacement for a better quality set of furniture that can be worth the money I paid for this.

Received power recliner without and power supply or paperwork. A power recliner with out power is just a big rock. I can't get anyone to tell me when I can get a new cord or the paperwork that comes with it. You I am told are my last resort and I won't get an anwser from you for at least 5 days per your people. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen,

Rooms To Go area rug

I bought this area rug along with furniture at roomstogo and area rug delivered was a defect one. when i called them they came to assess it after a month and confirmed that it is defect one. after 1 or 2 weeks they called and told that is defect one but they cannot replace it as that rug is discontinued and i have to re select some other rug in 30 days. I went and looked couple of times and didn't like any. Now when i called them to give refund they do no give and only they extended 2 more weeks to pick. i don't understand the time limit to select even though i don't like any rug at the roomstogo store.
Such a poor customer service and very bad policies. All i asked was to give me roomstogo gift card or store credit for more time period may be 6 months or 1 year. i didn't ask them to give gift card of different store, its so ridiculous

Rooms To Go leather sofa and loveseat falls to pieces

I bought from rooms to go for many years but, never again. I bought a leather sofa and loveseat with the extended warranty. Shortly after a year, the leather color starts pealing all over the place on both pieces. I called and they said since it’s been a little over a year it’s not covered by the manufacture. The warranty is only if you spill something that stains the furniture… they will repair or replace but it doesn’t cover it for falling apart in under two year. Looks like crap and need to buy a whole new set. I suggest if you want to spend the same cost every 1 – 3 years… shop somewhere else. Rooms to go quality if definite fell from good quality and moderate cost to the cheapest quality and a moderate cost. With only two people in the house this shouldn't have happen.

Rooms To Go furniture - dining chairs

I returned some furniture after taking a confirmation on email from Rooms to go that they will process my refund as soon as they pick the furniture. They picked the furniture on Dec 12th and i have not yet received the refund. I had an email confirmation and so kept on waiting on it. In the meanwhile, while i was waiting to receive my refund, i placed another order (completely separate order) on Dec 14th and paid $900 through 9 gift cards ($100 each). I got my furniture by Dec 20th. Around Jan 3rd, when i followed up with Rooms to go about my refund on the returned furniture, they came back saying that i have placed another order where i have used $900 through gift cards but i can only use $300 per transaction and so they will deduct rest $600 from my refund of the completely different order. I raised my concern that if that was the case, why did your website accept $900 through gift cards. Had their web site not accepted it in one transaction, i would have placed 3 different transaction and would have used by entire $900 gift cards. Rooms to go is not ready to understand and accept that it was an issue at their end wherein their website accepted the payment of $900 through gift cards and delivered the furniture. All this happened because they already had my money. Had they refunded my money on time, i wouldn't have gotten into this mess.

Rooms To Go princess bed set in white

On December 24th the bed set was deliver but with scratches and paint issues and since then after 3 delivery intents we have not yet received a nice looking bed set. Even the delivery drivers tell us that All customers that have bought this specific bedding furniture set have complained and still I don not understand why Rooms to Go still have the collection on the floor for sale. I have been told it is a manufacturer paint defect so why still willing to sell. I am very disappointed because on the 3rd delivery time there was a manager that did an inspection of the set and still decided to delivered it to me, which I did not accept. The set was even worse! I am not happy of the way our issue is taken care! Room to Go personnel don't care of their customer satisfaction!

Rooms To Go unethical behavior/acceptance now

today 1/5/2015 I went into rooms to go to look at another mattress in which I have a warranty on, in which I asked Acceptance now about my warranty on the mattress and it was stated to me by acceptance now that I do not have a warranty because it has been over a year. so I spoke to them concerning a rep for rooms to go about my warranty on the mattress . The tech came out on Monday 1/4/2016 and said that the mattress need to be replaced and then today 1/5/2015 came into store to have mattress replaced. I was charged an extra 99.00 for delivery and 29.00 over the price of the replacement mattress. How can rooms to go charge a fee for the merchandise that they sell and when I bought this mattress from them they did not tell me if the mattress need to be replaced that I would have to pay extra for the mattress. This is the worse furniture store that I have ever dealt with. I am going on FB, Twitter and every social media to let everyone know that this store is a complete rip off and have no consecration for the customer. Now acceptance now is the biggest rip off too and the rep will call you everyday until you make a payment and if you purchase the insurance in case you lose your job they do not pay that is a rip off too. acceptance now should be removed from the store because if room to go have to have a rental agent to help them get business will rooms to go should close their doors and never open again. for the next year I am going to let everyone know never go to rooms to go becaue this store is a rip off and they do not a hoot about the customer or anyone that come through the door . I plan to seek legal actions because if rooms to go and acceptance now can rip consumer off everyone need to know what they are dealing with. I want my money back and a letter from this store apologizing for the bad customer service that I received from this store pissed off customer

Rooms To Go cindy crawford furniture.

Order 12.26.15, Delivery 1.2.16, order # [protected], delivery to Palm Coast. I am not happy with the delivery procedure. Someone was supposed to call us ahead of time, cause we have dogs to put up. Nobody did, we were either home, we have an answering service, email, text. I told the sales man that I preferred email, (William Crockett), or a call on our home phone, delivery date is today 1.2.16, never knew the time. Stu said they would call a couple of days to schedule a time or the day of. I think either my sister or I bought from your company before and this same issue occurred. I don't think I will be buying from your company anymore. The delivery guys were fine.

Rooms To Go electric recliner/claims department

On the day before thanks giving, my powered recliner caught fire while reclining. That was the good new, could have happened while leaving the house. Well the chair was stuck in the recline position, Thanksgiving was canceled at my house. The carpet was burned ( 3 years old). took forever for someone to call me or even coordinate with me about replacing the furniture or my carpet. Its now New Years eve as I write this. I was asked to get 2 estimates, did this and was told we can't except those, we will offer you $200. for your carpet. It's a great room, that's why they wont replace the carpet. Well sorry I am not replacing a square of carpet, they wouldn't do it, neither am I. So, I will be calling the local news channel, and see where that gets me. I will never buy from them again. And on top if it all, the delivery people, who are contracted, and don't get paid unless they deliver, are telling their customers we did this on purpose. I smell lawsuit.

Rooms To Go refused to replace manufacturers defect

Used leaves for dining room table for the first time Christmas day and they were mismatched by at least 1/2". Requested replacements from RTG and they refused to replace them. This should have been caught by delivery personel when they delivered and setup furniture.

Very bad customer service, I bought a living room set, one of the sofas the leg was broke the delivery guy open the bottom of the lining and dint fix it, he said they where going to send somebody to fix it, the guy fix the leg but put other color lining I'm not happy about that, I feel I'm getting new furniture and it shoul look like new, when I call customer service they very rude one lady told me nothing waswrong with the sofa that it was a customer preference .

Rooms To Go living room set

Purchased Living Room Brown leather set from Kevin at the Bradenton Florida location. Kevin stated that any damage such as a pen puncture would be covered, tearing etc. He also stated that we were purchasing "leather". We actually were purchasing that bonded material that reassembles leather. We are long time customers of Rooms To Go and are very saddened by the quality of our couches that we purchased. They look to be 10 years old now with the "leather" cracking and seams tearing. We would like to be refunded and then purchase an actual leather set. That is if Rooms To Go sells REAL leather. We will also not deal with the gentleman Kevin if we purchase from Rooms To GO again. He misinformed us and gave us false information just to make a sale.

My husband and I purchased a "leather" sectional from Rooms To Go in Raleigh, NC six years ago. A few months ago I noticed the corner piece had cracks and had started peeling.

We had purchased a $150 extended warranty, but it was only for three years. I called around to a few upholstery shops and they each told me real leather doesn't peel. One vendor told me it would take a lot longer for real leather to start showing signs of wear and tear.

I called RTG and was told because we were outside of the six year RTG warranty period there was nothing they could do.

I even asked if I could pay to have a RTG repairman come out and repair the sectional and was again told no. The csr explained that the lifetime of the sectional was six years and beyond that time there was nothing they could do. When I asked if the sectional was real leather I was told it was actually blended leather; blended with what the csr wasn't able to tell me.
