Horrible company. Canceled online TWICE - had to call until they canceled the service. I don't understand how a company can market free and then charge $25/mo unless you "cancel", but the way it reads says nothing like that. How is this company legally able to market this way when every other company must uphold to certain stipulations? I never received any email confirming payment or service. I understand making money, but these seems like a low way to get hundreds out of someone trying to simply get a job. I will never use this service again and will tell anyone and everyone to not either.

I subscribed for 14-days trial only,

They charged me for 35.95 CAD right after that on 25th of march without any notification,

Saying that's how it work. while I never wanted monthly subscription.

I cancelled as soon as I saw charges. Later they said they will only pay me 17.48 CAD. They want to take my money for something I did not chose.

Desired outcome: I want my money back in full (34.95 CAD)

I became a widow on 1/18/2022 and have not only lost my husband but also my medical insurance and 80% of my income. I needed to create a resume quickly and your site was recommended to me. I signed up and had no idea that it was a 14-day free trial and that I would be charged $24.99/month in 2 weeks. My life is in chaos, I was not aware of this membership, and I am broke. When I called, on 3/2/2022, to explain my situation, I was told that I needed to cancel by 2/15, which I didn't do because I was unaware of the membership plan. I was then offered the plan for $9.99 a month, which I declined because the formatting of the resume and cover letters created were subpar. I immediately canceled my membership and was given a $12.48 credit, which means I still paid $12.51 for a membership that I was just offed to me for a price of $9.99. Do the math. Yes, I did in fact sign up for a membership quickly and I will acknowledge that mistake. I hope none of you ever have to deal with the loss of your husband at 54 and find out about the turmoil that I face daily.

Desired outcome: Credit my $24.99 and no longer charge me

Resume Genius / Resume Technologies resume genius - do not use!

I signed up for the free 14 day trial...paid my $1.95 for the resume and failed to set a reminder on my calendar to cancel the subscription. Its now three months later and I am $120.00 in the hole. I have not received an email one since I signed up...no receipts for the service...no hey, try this...NOTHING! When the hubs asked what the charge was that hit today, I was reminded to cancel and inquire about my charges getting refunded...

It was actually specified on the Plans and Pricing Page, on the Purchase confirmation page, and as well as the sales receipt sent to your email upon purchase that if you do not cancel within the 14 days, your account will be auto renewed to the monthly subscription.

Your account was renewed due to no cancellation last 02 May 2018 03:03 AM EDT and has already been cancelled 02 May 2018 10:01 PM EDT. We sent an email confirming the cancellation.

I am not accepting this response. I have not received communication of a monthly renewal. No receipts have been provided. I have $120.00 in charges for a service that I am not using. I will absorb the first two months, but today's charges need to be reversed. If you cant do it then find someone who can.

It seems that your looking for someone who can somewhat override our terms of use and policies for a refund to be possible. I do apologize but all of us follow the same rules and no one can do that. As I've mentioned, even if you speak to a sup or a manager, you will still get the same information. All we can do for these kind of situations is to cancel the account to prevent further charges moving forward.

Changing plans is not possible. Once you go for the monthly plan, you cannot switch to the annual. If you want to switch, you would need to create a new account with a different email to do so.

Total Scam. I helped a friend with building his resume - we did the 14 day "trial" and paid $1.95. Cancelled the account. They set up recurring charges on my Visa card and I just called them to tell them that it was cancelled before the end of the 14 days - nope- they said I would have had to call versus cancelling online and now I'm out for 2 months of the stupid subscription. I just sent a dispute to my Visa card issuer to advise them that no goods or services were received in exchange for the billed charges and that they were not authorized - we'll see how this plays out...

What kind of service is that? I wonder if anyone controls anything...
I wonder how they recruit those people for writing and editing papers...
I wanted my cover letter to be written properly, but what I received didn't notify me at all. I immediately contacted my write first to clarify this situation and to say that he made several mistakes. But he only blamed me for not giving him enough information and that he used what he got. But it was a lie. The biggest problem is that I would be happy to edit my cover letter, but I can't as it was saved in a different format.
Oh god, what a mess. I am very disappointed I spent my precious time on that...

Resume Genius / Resume Technologies They steal money

To use their service and not to be cheated you have to be very attentive. The different behavior may cost you a lot of money.
Unfortunately, they have a bad reputation among people I know and judging by the reviews we are right and not the only one suffered from their actions.
What they do is charging people for using their template once. They offer it for free and promise not to take money. If you like everything and find their job appropriate you may become their member and pay for their membership monthly. But how did I know that I would pay for the membership without any agreement from my side? They just take your credit card information and use it how they want. So every month they secretly charged 40 dollars.

It's a huge ripoff. Please, don't deal with them!

Resume Genius / Resume Technologies total scam

The filling the resume out is kind of for free, but it's a lie because when you finish it they want you to pay. Not much at first, about two dollars, but then if you don't cancel they will charge you 20 times more expensive. And the funniest part is that you have no idea that you subscribed, thank god they sent me an email stating that I have to decide what to do with my subscription. But I didn't read it in time and was charged. I contacted their customer service to ask for a refund and they refused due to their policies nobody reads.
Please stop this mess!

I just experienced the same thing. I tried the site out for $2.95 and was just charged $24.95 two weeks later and I never authorized them to do that. I've just written them an angry email and I'm considering filing a claim with my credit card company. This is a scam.

I just graduated and wanted to find a nice job, so I needed my resume to be perfect. I decided to get some help from professionals and decided to try ResumeGenius. They had very inspiring resume builder and many kinds of tools and I was really happy. I made a resume and logged out. When I came back my resume was gone and I have wasted hours to make it perfect! Contacted customer care and they said that there was probably a bug and that I need to make a new one. Are you kidding me? What a waste of time! I can't say that this site is super bad, but my experience was not the best.

Resume Genius / Resume Technologies Took my money without my permission!

I needed a perfect resume, so I went online and found Resumegenius website. This site seemed quite reputable and professional. They also had this 14 days free trial, and I thought that 14 days would be enough to make a resume. I joined this website and ordered a resume. It was very nice and I was pretty satisfied. But then I noticed an additional charge! They actually took $40 from me and signed me up for another month without my permission! What a scam! I'm just a student and I can't afford services like this! I demand my money back!

I paid for the resume to RGO Technologies LLC (Resume Genius). I got the response that I would pay only $2.99 for the resume and I indicated my card details. I downloaded the resume and after 2 days I checked my account. I noticed that instead of $2.99 this company charged me for $35.99. I made a research and found out that they were doing it before and stole a lot of money from other people.

Good Afternoon
Lately I had the horrible experience with your customer service dept. I have used your company and was under the stipulation it was for 1 month. I recently saw that you have been taking out 39.95 for 11 months and I did not agree to this. I tried talking to your customer service, which all they wanted to do is fight with me and talk over me. I was transferred to one of your supervisor named John and I was ready to run myself off the road after talking to him. Again no help and no resolution. I then talked to a Tim which he infact yelled at me and told me no one is going to call you back and you are out of luck. WOW... I can not believe that these individuals actually draw a pay check from you. I would like for someone to email me or call me for 400.00 is too much to let it go. I see I am not the only one that has encountered your customer service tyrants. I am so upset that today I tried again to talk to someone and they told me you are not going to get anything back . I totally support this complainant. RGO Technologies is scandalous and does not treat their customers well. They feed you lines of crap, like what you just read in their response, and then they keep your money like crooks. Maybe if they were transparent in their dealings they would be more successful. Shame on you. And shame on the PEOPLE that run this company. You are dirt.

Hello,

When the customer subscribed to our Trial subscription, He/She accepted our terms of agreement which stated that they would be receiving our subscription services and that the Trial would auto-renew into a Monthly subscription on a specific date. Our services are not a one time purchase, but an ongoing subscription. They had the option to cancel at any time during the 14 day trial period to prevent the auto-renewal and in order to avoid future charges.

The cancellation process is very simple: Log in > My Account >> Plan Information >>> Cancel

This will confirm that the account was successfully canceled. The customer will continue to have access to all of the features of our website until the next month at which time the access will be limited to the features of our Lite Account or Free Account.

To download a digital copy of the resume for free they have the option to choose the TEXT format which will not require them to make any payments. However, all other services require a payment as stated above and according to our Terms of Use.

No additional charges will be levied against their credit card as long as the account remains canceled. Should they reactivate the account, the credit card will be charged accordingly.

When the customer purchased the account we provided instructions on how to cancel, along with the specific date and time at which the billing cycle would take place. We informed that it needed to be canceled on a timely manner.

We recognize that the account is now cancelled, however, the cancellation came after the billing cycle had already occurred. The information regarding our Subscription Service is NOT in fine print and can be located in our Terms of Use, Plan Comparison, Sales Receipt, Plan Information and Alerts.

I am sorry to inform this, but as per our Terms of Use, the customer is responsible for the charges incurred. However, I highly recommend using the services that he/she is now entitled to under their current subscription.

Please let us know if you require any additional type of documentation to serve as evidence of the charges and our Terms of Use. We have a complete record of our correspondence in addition to time-stamped copies of when the customer agreed to our terms of service by registering in our website.

Resume Genius / Resume Technologies After 14 days they charge for full price

I am angry that the staff from RGO Resumes didn’t inform about the further charges. I signed up for their services for 14 days. After that these guys failed to provide the resume and charged me for full month fee. I noticed that they have taken $37.99 and was surprised to hear from the agent that it was ok, and they took this sum because I haven’t cancelled my trial after 14 days.

Resume Genius / Resume Technologies Don't subscribe – fake charges

I subscribed for the trial on the website www.resumegenius.com. It was only 14 days, so on the 5th day I cancelled the trial. But when I checked my account, it turned out that the company continued to take money from me. They took $40 at the beginning, when I subscribed for them, and the same sum was taken from me, when I cancelled the trial. I wonder if there are people, who had the same thing. Maybe you can advise me how to stop these charges. Please post your ideas and comments. Thanks.

I signed up for 2 weeks for the trial on the website www.resumegenius.com. No one told me that I needed to cancel this subscription. After the subscription ended, they continued to take money from me and no one warned me about it or that my subscription ended. Now I try to stop these bogus charges and wonder if there are people, who faced the same problems. Please, share this info.

Resume Genius / Resume Technologies Very poor business practice!

I did a resume online because I am unemployed and do not have the money to get a resume professionally done and found Resumegenius.com one on line for $4.95. I thought it was a good deal. I see that amount of money taken out of my account $4.95 I agreed to but not the $39.95 and now I cannot get ahold of anyone to cancel that billing. Very poor business practice!

This website is a total scam, they overcharge my card. Literally taking advantage of people who are looking for a job. The website leads you to believe that it will be 2.95 to download your resume. Apparently that is only for the free trial which means it's not free. then they will charge you 25 even if you don't use the website.

You never receive a warning or receipt for this “additional” auto subscription and after seeing this on my credit card billing, I talked to their customer service who simply refer me to their terms of service and eventually did not even answer me.

This is terrible customer service, intentional misdirection and misleading.

Beware of resumegenius.com – It’s a scam site that will auto-charge your credit card without your approval and without notifying you at all."
