Red Roof Inn bed bugs!!!

Bed Bugs! I was severely bitten by bed bugs at Red Roof Inn Philadelphia Airport Plus during my two separate and consecutive stays at the hotel. I politely and discretely complained to the Red Roof Inn corporate national customer service center and the customer service representative who took my complaint mistreated me and made me feel totally humiliated. I had to seek medical treatment and was prescribed medication for my very painful and multiple bed bug bite marks. Red Roof Inn Philadelphia Airport Plus, located at 49 Industrial Highway, Essington, PA 19029, telephone # [protected].

Below is a photo of my swollen & painful hand after one of my bed bug bites.

Red Roof Inn filthy room

Hi. My daughter, 17, and I went to Atlanta to attend a concert. I had previously stayed at a red roof inn near Atlanta. When I reserved the room about 2 weeks prior to our arrival. It was a smoking room. I stayed in room 112. We arrived and had enough time to get dressed and ready. We left the hotel about an hour after checking in. The "free" Wifi did not work. The furniture in the roonwas broken and badly damaged. The walls had plaster that was loose. We wouldn't use the shower because of the soap ### on the walls. AND at around 2:30 am.there was someone knocking on my door. Weslept on top of the bedspread fully clothed. This is the WORST experience I have ever had. I am looking forward to speaking with guest relations on Tuesday morning. If they don't refund my money i will dispute the charge with my bank. This hotel SHOULD NOT represent red roof inn.

Red Roof Inn smoking

The problem was that we did not I repeat did not smoke in the no smoking room, as we knew that if we did smoke in the room we would not get our deposit back that it why we did not smoke in the no smoking room. I am very upset because we followed the rules which was no smoking in the room, we smoked outside. The door may have been a little opened while smoking outside so that may have caused it to smell like smoke. I am very upset too as why I do not understand why I have not received my deposit back, I am going to be contacting my lawyer. Thank you

-falicia.

A very unsatisfied customer.

Roaches in the room. Marijuana smoking inside rooms that filled the halls with the worst smell. Not organized, rooms not ready on time. Was not pleased at all. Fire alarms went off and lasted for over 30min at 2:00 a.m. and everyone seemed to be clueless as to what to do in an emergency situation.

Air conditioning never worked right. Had someone come in and "fix" it and it worked for an hour. Reservation was also incorrect even after I called to confirm after I booked it online.

The manager and his assistant have to learn never to insult highly educated guests. At the pathetic wage they earn, they should learn some respect before they are both fired.

Please don't associate people's attitudes with the level of money or education they have. It is their attitude towards other people that matter and you sound like you have a bad one. You also sound like you don't have much money or education if you stay at a Red Roof Inn.

Red Roof Inn missing headphones

I stayed at Red Roof Inn on 19th of March. I have stayed at the Red roof inn well over 100 times so when I had to spend the day in Kalamazoo It was natural for me to go to the nearest Red Roof Inn. I grab my beats by Dre head phones to watch Netflix on my computer around 9pm. my Computer could not pick up the internet so, I set my Beats By Dre down on the bed and I went to sleep because I had an early day. After I left that morning to take the MColes test I packed up my stuff and I drove back home to southgate Mi. the next day I notice that I didn't pack my headphones so I called Red Roof K-Zoo sunday morning and told them what happened. the female employee stated they did have them in the lost and found and she will get a manger to call me in the morning. (no one never called) I called back Monday afternoon I was informed again that a manger will call me (no one never called) I called back Tuesday and by this time they told that the lady who clean the room will be in after 2pm and they will call me and let me know what happened to the headphones. I told the guy that I paid over $200 for these head phones and they was on the bed. I told him again they was on the bed he said ok, took my number again and NEVER CALLED BACK!

I have found Red Roof inn to be less than OK any time I have stayed... Last summer I stayed at one in the Albany NY area and I decided that I will never use them again after that. The worst overall hotel chain in the USA.

Red Roof Inn bed bugs

My family stayed at this hotel Sunday 7-20-14 and checked out at 5:56 am on Monday [protected]. We stayed
in room 310. We went for the pool because we live right down the street from this hotel. All night my 10 yr old was complaining of
itching, it was so bad that he woke up at 5 am to take a bath. I noticed my 7 month old baby scratching at this time as well and thought that maybe it was from the swimming pool so after my 10 yr old got out of the tub I immediately gave the baby a bath. I dressed the baby and made a bottle and was sitting on the bed feeding him, as I was doing this an adult BEDBUG ran across
the pillow. We immediately woke all of our children up and checked them for additional bugs then got them to the
car. I did not want to risk taking the bug’s home with us so I did not go through and clean the room and I did not search
the sheets. I had seen enough. I shook out all of our belongings and packed them and hurried them to the car. When
we reported this issue to the front desk at about 5:45 am they said that they could not do anything until the manger gets here at 9 am. The front desk wrote a note on my receipt explaining my situation. The front desk was very
rude and not concerned at all. When I came back the manager named Dee was not helpful at all. She said they checked the room and found nothing. I saw at least two bugs while in the room and they only come out in the early hours of the morning. The manager showed me pictures in her cell phone of the room and she complained to me that the room was dirty and that
there would be at least a cleaning fee held if BEDBUGS were found. I said that was fine but how could they expect someone to clean a room that they know has BEDBUGS in it. I wasn’t going to take any unnecessary steps that would put us at an additional risk of getting these bugs. I take it as, since the untrained BEDBUG inspectors they sent to the room could find nothing after we left that they thought we were lying. The manager Dee said that a pest control company was coming to inspect the room and I would get the results within 9 days. We’ll see what happens. WE WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.

P.S.

The pool was DISGUSTING and the hallways smell horrible.

I stayed at Red Roof Inn in Toms River, NJ, stayed a lot. The Inn changed hands in 2010 and has not been the same. Inn allows dogs, feel like I'm in a kennel rather than an Inn. I had an overnight stay this past May, 2011 and was awaken by howling dogs and bugs. When I got back to my home State-MA I saw my upper torso from waist up, arms and shoulders covered in welts. Complained but manager never called. I don't suggest staying there not very clean or responsive. Complained to corporate RR Inn, got email offering free night coupon. Took coupon to stay at another RRI somewhere else in NJ but never in TR again.

Red Roof Inn poor service, poor plumbing, filthy room

Upon arriving to the room, the first thing I noticed is that there was no fridge or microwave. I work for a company that receives a discount for CLC. I called the front desk and asked to switch to a room with a fridge and I would pay the difference in cash, which was 8-10$. The young lady, and I use the term lady loosely said let me see what I can do. She promptly called back in 1 minute and said the hotel was fully booked. There are at least 40 empty rooms. Oh well I call that a loss. The tub drain was backed up after 30 seconds, leaving me to stand in dirty water as well as whatever is in the drain. YUCK! Ah well life on the road sucks sometimes. The breaking point was, after arriving at the room after a 12 hr day of work, taking off my shoes, and reaching under the bed for my slippers, I noticed what looks like dried white crusty body fluid on the bed skirt. DISGUSTING! When I looked directly across at the other bed more dried up nastiness. I don't expect to get put up at the Hilton, but I would think the room would at least be clean. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, and hopefully people read this and check everything before you lay down. I'm packing my stuff and going across the street. Hopefully the standards are a little higher. I'd rather pay out of my own pocket than stay here one more min.

Red Roof Inn unauthorized use of credit information

Do not use this hotel, they charge your account information after you stay there and leave, they will not say anything to you and if you call the manager to tell her what happened, once you find out, she does not care, argues with you and refuses to do anything to make you a satisfied customer, just wants more credit information to charge you again.

Red Roof Inn rooms/ management

Where do I even begin? This past June ( 2013) my daughter and I flew to Philly to check into some apts for her as she will be going to school there. This was our 1st time to the east coast, and I had no clue on where to stay, etc. I searched extensively on the web for hotels that were close to the airport ( and yes, I know the airport area isn't gonna get me the BEST location, but I think I knew how to search for a facility that was affordable, yet decent). Found this location via Trip Advisor, and the price seemed reasonable as well as the reviews.

I booked 4 nights as we were arriving in Philly in the AM, just coming off a red eye flight, all I wanted to do was take a hot shower and relax before heading out apt hunting. This is why I booked the morning before I arrived rather than waiting till the 3pm check in on my arrival date.

When I first pulled up ( 11:30 am), the hotel seemed nice looking, Not shabby but rather quaint. I checked in, was handed my key. I booked a king suite / smoking w/ coffee maker, desk, fridge, etc.

My 1st impression was that the room was dirty. The floors looked like they hadn't been vacuumed could see visible crumbs/debris on the floor and along the floor boards there were massive amount of animal hair. Apparently this room can have pets. There was no ashtray, no coffee maker. The menu on the desk was sticky w/ residual food on it. In the wall a/c unit, you could visibly see rodent feces as if it hasn't never been vacuumed out. The door to my room had a missing piece of wood on the bottom, as to where the you could see sunlight coming through the bottom. I was appalled. I called the front desk to complain, and was told housekeeping would be there soon. Yeah, right.

While I was waiting, I sat in the chair in the desk and I didn't want to sit on the bed as I just felt everything was dirty/nasty. Thirty minutes pass and something overcame me to check for bed bugs. Well, this is when my horror truly began. I lifted up the mattress and to my disgust, there was a CRACK PIPE on a washcloth ! It was underneath the mattress! WTF? I called front desk again and immediately asked to speak to manager ( Christine). She came down in an instant. I showed her the crack pipe, as well as all the other nasty things in that room.

She apologized, and offered to look for me another facility, or set me up in a cleaner room inspected by herself personally. At this point I didn't want to stay in any Red Roof Inns. My daughter and I went to eat, and came back after 3PM to find out there are no other facilities around with vacancy as the PGA tour was in town. She showed me another room and it looked ok. She offered to knock 2 of my nights stay off, but I still ended up paying for 3 days which made no sense. That's another story. Point being, the GM there is a joke, and only responded to my emails once. I asked for my difference back in the room charges, but that got me no where. Her name is Julia Cole. I proceeded to contact the area manager, and he was a fail as well. His name is Mark Aston.

Back to my review: my second room was a little cleaner, I think the water rot in the bathroom, as well as bent towel rod, chipping paint made the room look dirtier, but at this point I just dealt with it as we were gone majority of the time.

All in all, this place is the dumps. Obviously junkies stay here, and the whole building needs to be knocked down and rebuilt along with new competent management. STAY HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK! You have been warned.

Red Roof Inn unfair room charge

I booked a room for a week about one month prior to my trip. As I was traveling on business, I asked for a corporate rate. I was offered $30.00 per night. The estimated bill for the week was $301.00 and some change including taxes. The night before I was to arrive, I called the hotel - and actually spoke with the national reservation department for Red Roof and gave my credit card number. I also guaranteed the room for late arrival. When I arrived at the hotel, I was denied the reservation by the manager. I was told that I needed a CDL (I'm guessing a Corporate Discount Lodging card). Since I had not previously stayed at a Red roof Inn I had no idea what it was! "Too bad, " I was told. I insisted that I was not told about this card when I made the reservation, but if I had known it existed I would have tried to get one. Then I was told that if I wanted to stay at the hotel I could be given a special rate of $79.00 plus taxes per night. I said "No, thank you, " and abruptly left. Someone needs to educate their reservation operators and the immature, condescending manager at this location. I will never attempt to stay at a Red Roof Inn again.

Red Roof Inn poor management

I am a former employee of the red roof inn in greensboro, nc, I felt very uncomfortable working there because the manager was always telling me my eyes were nice and would be openly talking about porn and other non appropriate subjects. The area is just ghetto and only prostitutes and drug dealers seem to be the guests. The other employees irnore them and even excepted guests with expired and fake ids.
I quit because I was the only white girl working there and I felt outcasted.

Red Roof Inn horrible

On numerous occasions I have witnessed the manager tell his staff to wear make up or to do things that technically aren't their job. I am a friend of someone who lives in the hotel and I was made aware by them that a man had sadly passed away at the hotel and was in the room for 1 to 2 weeks they were unsure but what they were sure of was that the manager took it upon himself to clean the room up and enlisted the help of two non- English speaking workers. Isn't there a problem with that? Don't you have to be certified to clean up a death or at least have the proper tools/clothing/ protective gear to clean it up. I am very disturbed by this. I am also disturbed by the fact that he was called guests liars basically in front of a lobby full of people when they tell him there is a problem with their room. I understand people come to places and maybe come with the intent to get a room for free but he has even disrespected me by trying not to honor my VP code. The way he talks to people is as if he is on drugs because one minute he is super nice and the next he's telling you why what you are saying is not true. I stay at this hotel a lot and have seen things that a guest should not see. I used to come to this location when it was corporately owned and I loved it. Andrew was great, friendly and always around and willing to step up for his staff. The character they have now has gotten rid of every single employee that actually cared about and needed their job and the employees he still has left are great but they get the short end of the stick because management is awful. I was at the hotel a few weeks ago and they had no toilet paper. I have traveled for work for years and never have I ever went to a hotel that didn't have toilet paper. The front desk made sure I got some right away as one of them went to the store and got some but I was told by housekeeping there was no tissue. The front desk wasn't even aware which makes it not their fault but I am sure they were blamed. The employees at this location have an unfair advantage because no matter what a great job they do they ill never get a pat on the back because of management. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE MANAGER AND OWNERSHIP

Red Roof Inn false charges

I stay at the Red Roof in Burlingame, CA a great deal. I am a flight attendant and for about the past 6 months, I have faithfully spent $500 per month there... some months more. I stay there so much that I purchase blocks of 10 nights.

Recently I noticed that I was charged for a night when I was not there, the 29th of September, 2012. When I spoke to the General Manager, Tabitha, she claims that I made a reservation for that night at the check in counter and didn't show up. This is not the case. I checked in on the 26th and checked out the 28th. I never made a reservation for the 29th.

She refuses to refund me. This is NOT acceptable. I am being charged for a night for which I never made a reservation.

As a reward for my faithful patronage, the Red Roof Inn in Burlingame, CA has stolen from me!

Red Roof Inn disgusting drama mess

Please be very, very careful with this hotel! There is a lot of positive feedback on TripAdvisor on this hotel but we were here long enough to see the “real deal” and “behind the scenes” stuff to make anyone run the other direction.

We checked into this hotel in mid-June 2012. Our plans were to stay long term until we were able to secure adequate housing. During our 10 week stay, we stayed in three different rooms and eventually ended up in a suite-type room that had bed bugs! During this time, we also found out that many of the rooms have roach problems and are “out of service” because they are not inhabitable.

The second room we were in had no lighting in the bathroom. We told management and maintenance of this problem three times and it was never fixed. We were offered the suite room for $50.00 more per week and felt we were forced into this room simply to have a fully functional room. Upon moving into this room, the kitchen sink was flooding the floor and would not drain. The second morning in this room, we woke up to find dead roaches floating in water in the sink. Again, we told management and maintenance of this problem with no assistance whatsoever. Eight days later, the maintenance person completely removed the garbage disposer (said the owner would not purchase a new one) and the sink problem was resolved.

During this time, the air conditioner in the living area did not work. Upon powering up the unit, it sounded as if a machine gun was being shot. The maintenance person brought in a different a/c unit that looked as if it were a 1960’s model and swapped out the units. The new a/c unit started sparking and making a high-pitched noise. Again, we notified management of this problem and it again took another week to repair.

During our stay at this hotel, we made the unfortunate decision to become friends with the staff and GM, Jennifer Lindemer. Immediately upon making this personal connection, the GM, Jennifer started telling us about her crush on the maintenance person. She would follow him around the property with her tongue hanging out like a junior high school girl in heat. Mind you that both of them are married and have children, Jennifer eventually ended up leaving her husband and children, moved into the Red Roof Inn only so she could be closer to the maintenance guy. Sexual comments were constantly being made between each of them in front of hotel guests and staff. There were several long-term guests in the hotel that Jennifer forced into this situation and eventually the hotel started losing their long-term guests and the ratings started falling.

The “complimentary breakfast” provided by this hotel is a JOKE! On a normal day, they will provide waffles, muffins and bagels. They claim to have fresh fruit but you rarely see it. There have been many, many mornings when most items are out of stock. For example, there was a 4 day stretch where there was no waffle batter to make waffles. There we two separate times when there were no muffins for 3 days at a time. There was another day where there were no bagels OR muffins. One day, there was no waffle batter, no muffins, no bagels and the juice machine was down. The only items available were bananas and coffee. The GM Jennifer has told us on numerous occasions that items are out of stock because she “forgets” to order things.

During the final days of our stay at this hotel, we noticed a lot of seedy looking people staying at the hotel. One morning, very early, some people were using the ice machine to fill their ice chests. The on duty front desk person, Sheree ran up to the woman, grabbed her hand and pulled it away from the ice machine and told the guest, “Absolutely NO ICE for filling ice chests.” She further told the guest that if they were caught using the ice machine again; they would be checked out with no refunds. Had the guest been smart, she would’ve contacted an attorney. A BIG NO-NO! You NEVER touch a guest!

The final straw for us was when we moved into their “suite” type room. Within a week of moving to this room, we found a live bed bug crawling across our bed. We killed the bug and took it to the GM, Jennifer. Later that day, we found a bug shell stuck to the mattress and after tearing the bed apart, found true sign of bed bugs. We found feces and blood stains on the mattress and box springs. (See pictures). We took all this to management and the only thing they did was check our bed and tell us that they didn’t see any bugs. No pest control – nothing!

This hotel employs some great people with awesome customer service skills but the management is much to be desired. There were multiple occasions where we heard the hotel GM yelling and screaming at her employees in the middle of the hotel lobby. On one occasion the hotel GM and an employee were in the parking lot screaming at each other.

The reviews on this hotel are very deceiving. Please be very cautious when considering this hotel! I can assure you that the other reviews in regards to roaches and bugs are all true. This hotel was refurbished and upgraded after it was taken over by Red Roof Inn but has gone downhill very fast.

Red Roof Inn stolen property

I caution anyone looking to "save money" and stay at the Red Roof Inn.

I recently stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Harrisburg, PA. I figured I would save 20.00 by staying there with my family for the night while going to Hershey.

Unfortunately, my son realized that he didn't have his IPAD the next evening. I immediately contacted the RED ROOF INN and was told that the room was "partially stripped" but
YOUR SECOND CLASS employees (who I was informed by the local police authorities had several other instances of misconduct in the same month) clearly stole my son’s IPAD. I was informed by your manager and general manager that the room was “partially stripped but surprisingly, my son's IPAD was no where to be found.

I spoke with both the Manager and General Manager at that location who admitted that someone had clearly entered the room, began cleaning it and must have seem the IPAD and left. They assurred me that because of this, the RED ROOF INN would reimburse me for my stolen property.

I followed protocol, filing a local police report. The detective assigned informed me that this particular location had a history of issues and that the RED ROOF INN should do the "right thing and reimburse me".

Well, low and behold, I got a denial letter claiming they were not "legally liable"

Not only does the RED ROOF INN put their customer's safety in danger, they also do not care about their customer's personal property and experience.

PLEASE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, DO NOT STAY AT ANY RED ROOF INN!

In an industry where customer service and reputation is paramount, the Red Roof Inn puts their customer's personal belongings and safety on the bottom of their priorities.
