Resort Condominiums International [RCI] - Member resort not acceptable

The accommodation at Lilly Land Aka "Mirage Bay" are the most filthy and disgusting rooms I have ever experienced. It is plain filthy. Attached are the photos and two videos for you to see. There is pubic hair on the floor of the bathroom. There are other things smeared on the floor under the counter and the shower still has the last few people's soap...

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] - Mountain place resort (gatlinburg) resort id 0302 4160 old webb creek rd

This is the worse resort I have visited in my 30 plus years of using time shares. Where do I start? I will provide pictures as well. As I try to find the check in, which I finally found. They actually live in one of the units with about 10 other people. It looks deserted. Pool was filled with green slime, lady said they have not had a chance to vacuum it...

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] Missold a timeshare blue bay quintana roo mexico

We were forced into buying a timeshare 20 years ago, under pressure and paid a £500 deposit which we were told we had 5 days in which to cancel. On returning home we decided to not go ahead with it and tried to cancel only to be told we would have to pay roughly another 3 and half thousand pounds to exit the contract which we paid. I cant remember the exact dates of when we went was between 2000 to 2005.

Desired outcome: To get our money back which we paid for nothing

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] no exceptions for refunds

I do not care about points or weeks refunds so I do not buy your protection as it only covers reinstatement of the week. However, you made no exceptions to monetary refunds during Covid and now we had the worse hurricane ever in Southwest Fl. I had to cancel due to roof damage and am waiting for a roof contractor. My reservation is Berkshire Mountain Lodge Oct 15-22. I would like to have my 156.00 refunded or held at Bershire for a future reservation.

You seem to be the only company who does not help victims of this hurricane.

Disappointed in Sarasota FL

Desired outcome: refund or hold money at lodge for future credit

We went for the tour everything was great until the pandemic. We lost our credits which is 1500.00 per couple because the pandemic how can you travel with a person with an auto immune disease during that time. I think being a reputable company you would be understanding and extend our credits for a year so we could use them. It has been a tough year for everyone you included but by word of mouth and satisfied people is how you have a great company and build your resort family Sincerely Walter

Desired outcome: To reinstate our cruise credits because it was out of our control

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] Levy payments

Good morning - We have been paying customers for over 30 years and have never not paid levies. Due to Covid-19 we have not been able to swap our timeshare which is in October at Sabi River Sun for December/January which is our holiday period. I have secured two swaps being week 3-10 June 2022 and 15-22 July 2022 respectively and have paid R3 000 towards our 2022 levy as of yesterday. The points used for the two weeks secured will lapse end of July 2022 which is why I have secured same. Those points have nothing to do with this years levy payable. As soon as I get paid by the State Attorney in Mafikeng (money due to my advocate and myself since Feb 2022) I will pay the balance. I do not need to be reminded like a child to pay these levies. I take exception to the e-mail received yesterday after I requested this year's statement for levy to be sent to me. Kind regards. Celeste Breytenbach Ref : 1231384 - Mrs Celeste S Breytenbach - SR:0093/43)

Desired outcome: There is always an exception to any rule. Covid-19 has created havoc to the extent that I am now earning one third of my original salary and then having to wait to be paid by government who are totally incompetent.

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] RCI Travel Packages

On July 17th, 2019 I purchased a travel package for $2299.00, member id: RCIP51572JMC.

The sales person was very assertive on the call and convinced me that by purchasing this package, I would get two 7 day certificates to travel anywhere plus use the $2299 to book hotels, gifts and other things from their website. I was also advised that I have until 2024 to use the $2299.

I told him that I would like to travel to Hawaii for which he confirmed that I can use the certificates.

Few days later, I got a call from the supervisor of the department who told me that he listened to the call and felt that the sales person was not giving me the correct information for Hawaii. Since Hawaii is very expensive, I would have to pay on top of the certificate. Because of that, the supervisor gave me $500 in travel funds to use towards the reservation.

I booked the first certificate however, due to COVID I had to cancel in April of 2020. At that time, I had to pay over $1100 additional money as the certificate did not cover the Mexico vacation. I took a long time to get the money refunded and reinstate my 2 certificates. Since the certificates were booked, my online access was removed which prevented me to use the $2299 towards hotels. Every time I called, I was given different # since no one knew what I spoke about. These funds are only available to be used while the certificates are valid and once you book the certificates, the access to the website is no longer available. I rebooked my certificates to Mexico for April of 2022 however, due to COVID and high crime rates, I just cancelled on Feb 16th during that time I was told that I have to call back in 3 days to request my online account. When I called today, 2/22/22 I am being advised that it takes up to 10 business days for a cancellation to be processed and that I was given wrong information. The agent is also not able to explain to me how to use the remaining funds of $1525 on the account.

My experience from the beginning has been OWFULL, the salesperson mis-lead me and lied to me. To have the manager call me and acknowledge that should have been an indicator.

It's very apparent that I'm not the only customer that has been duped and lied to. I made numerous calls and asked for supervisors or, managers to call me back however, no one ever did.

I ask that you listen to all the calls starting with the sales call and I'm not surprised to hear that this department was shot down. Customer Service was non-existent. Because the business relationship change, RCI do not service members that have expired accounts and because the contract changes and no longer assisting RCI members so the savings credits are no longer valid! I'm being told by your customer services staff that this relationship ended in 2021and you no longer service the RCI customers!

Since I'm not the only customer impacted by this scam, I will be looking to pursue legal actions unless I get my money back.

Desired outcome: I would like FULL refund of $2299 and you can keep your certificates!

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] Travel package

I purchased a $2,199.00 travel package. Member # RCIP77941FQZWe were supposed to get a 1 week resort stay and a cruise with balcony for 2 ppl. We bought the certificates in the spring of 2019. Because covid 19 hit and we were not going to be able to travel during the pandemic, I called to see if they would extend our expiration date. I was told it they would check with management and get back to me. No one ever called. When I called back, they told me I lost the resort certificate but should go ahead and book the cruise. They said if I book the cruise, I can always change the date and destination with the cruise line. So, I booked a cruise for Oct, 2022. When I called back Feb 2022 to verify, they said my membership had expired and they cannot see any cruise booked. Try to call the cruise dept. I have been on hold for 1 1/2 hours listening to a recording asking me to "Please continue to hold" and no one will pick up!

Sincerely,

Robin Ifantis

Desired outcome: I would like a refund, or my resort certificate restored and would like to know my cruise is actually booked.

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] customer service

RCI's customer service is terrible. I have an issue with an ongoing search. I have spent hours on the phone and on their website trying to correct the search. I have spoken to a dozen call center representatives and two Supervisors and the issue is not resolved. The Supervisors were rude and condescending. I have been a customer for 25 years, so I am experienced with their systems.

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] travel services

Really, Your policies are a joke; a farce and a rip off.  I have enough points for a stay and you want to charge me to combine them, that is a [censored] fee to make money.  I move a week into you pool and then that week is not even good enough to go back into the same resort, that is a joke and a farce.  Your system is a complete rip off.  Your resorts such [censored], I have not exchanged into one that I would recommend to anyone.  All the ones you want to stay in are NEVER, EVER available and if they are the points that I dropped in are not enough for a like kind property that they came out of.  Your program is a total scam.  Your representatives are unprofessional.  You should be shut down.   I will never bank another week with you or recommend you.

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] vacation certificate reactivation charges

I purchased a vacation on November 11, 2017 for $3, 700. Account # RCIP35696TMW. Once I had paid 80 percent of the balance, I called RCI vacations on March 11, 2019 and spoke to David Pires about a using the cruise certificate. David was supposed to provided additional information before finalizing the trip. I never received a return call from that representative. Then I receive a voice message from Tony Thompson in May 2019 stating my certificate was about to expire. When I responded to the message, Tony informs me it past the expiration date and I must pay 599 to reactive the cruise certificate. I explained that I have been trying to get the cruise scheduled for a couple of months and never received the additional information. Tony was to return my call. He never returned the call or responded to my voice messages. I called again on June 1, I spoke to Mitzi who finally referred me to customer support and stated a supervisor "Cynthia" would return a call. I called again on June 3 and spoke to Juan who stated he would escalate to management. I would receive a return call in 3 to 5 days. I called again on June 24th and was advised another email was going to management so they can return my call. I continue to get the run around which I now realize is a tactic to get an angry customer off the phone. Please understand, I have used RCI vacations previously and always had a very positive experience. Clearly, something has changed with the company.

My resolution request: A full refund of all monies paid to this vacation. My husband is a disabled veteran and we used RCI vacations payment plan to afford vacations because of our limited income. Now we have been robbed of that luxury.

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] rci travel package scam or unethical behaviors

I purchased an RCI travel package cost $1999 (with a $199 deposit and $100 monthly payment of $100 for 18 months and was told that I had 3 years to use the certificates). With each travel package, you get a seven-day cruise for 2 and 1week stay at a resort for 2 people.  Unfortunately, I missed the reservation cut off by 1 day to make the reservations/redeem the certificates (even though I was told that the certicates were good until April 27, 2019) and now RCI or ICE wants me to pay an additional $1300 to upgrade or $599 per cruise certificate and $399 for a resort certificate to extend them for another 6 months! THIS is ourageous as I have already paid for 3 certificates that I no longer can use and RCI wants me to pay more money! RCI travel will not refund your money plus if you do not use the packages within two years you lose the certificate.  RCI did offer to buy back the resort package $1300 each but they make you buy another package for $3400. Plus it is not a refund it is money that they hold onto that you can use for hotel or airfare.  When you do go to use the certificate they tax on a fees.  They advertise it as a free seven week resort but it's not. I want to inform people to watch out for the RCI travel packages.  RCI travel packages take your money.  You do not get the benefit that they claim.

I was transferred to several different departments in several US & international location and finally, the unhelpful, unfriendly RCI Cruise Centertificat customer service rep Jose Garcia from Mexico City was unable to track my recent calls or my original calls back in Oct 2017 so it's basically my words against theirs. So infuriating and is this even legal in the state of California to buy certificates that you can't use since there's a law that states gift certificates bought cannot be expired?

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] rci points

We were sold 15000 points to explicitly be able to book places on a nightly basis, as opposed to weekly.
However, whenever I have tried (over the past over 3-4 years) to find this accommodation it is never available.
I have tried contacting via phone and they always explain it away as that there are very few places that you can choose from. Apart from the high-pressure sales pitch where you have to cough up a substantial amount of money whilst you're on holidays, I thoroughly resent having to pay out 250gbp/ annum and risk losing points that I have been unable to use within the 3 year time period.
What the hell?

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] cruise and resort package

My sister purchased a cruise and resort voucher in 2016 and has been unsuccessful in booking any cruise or resort after many hours searching. Also many telephone conversations . The activati9n code has stopped working as they have changed the system. Has now been told to look for any cruise and they will see if there is availability. Many times she has done this and they come back with an extortionate amount she has to pay when She has already paid £2000 . Any advice as to what she can do .

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] severe difficulty in cancelling and trying to reschedule paid resort vacation

I purchased a cancun trip booking id: lnbk427901 resort id: 5037 with drew taulu, during the last 6 months we made drew very aware that we were in the process of adopting our great nephew and have been legally advised not to leave the country or get a temporary passport for him. Drew said no problem call him occasionally and he will adjust our vacation package for when we can go. He can longer be reached. We even obtained a cancellation policy, evidently we were supposed to notify rci within 30 days of any possible changes, I do not recall that in conversation but was reminded of that by a carlos who took our cx nod was very rude trying to out speak me. He said if we wanted to reschedule we would have to pay a new price drew never said that to us. My spouse and I are both disabled veterans of this country who still work and do very hard for our money. This trip was meant to be a celebration of our great-nephews adoption which has been going on legally since 2014. I find it hard to believe that we cannot get receive any of our money back. Very bad business. We will be sure to add this to the lengthy lists of complaints which I have found throughout the internet.

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] services rendered

I am an RCI Platinum member for the past 2 years, only because we paid an additional $10, 000 for a Vacation Village at Parkway timeshare. We were told of the "perks" that came with being Platinum member.

We finally received notification of a search in Maui and when I went to book it, the "on-line" reservation did not take, so called the number. After 2 hours of conversation, I was told I owed $80 for a "service mistake" on RCI's part. I pay with a credit card to reserve vacations and at that time paid what they said I owed. Now to book this vacation, RCI tells me that I owe $80 from a previous vacation back in July 2015. I did not know why and couldn't get a decent answer after 2 hours. So I called the [protected] number that Vacation Village told me was dedicated to just for owners. After spending another hour on the line, Ray tells me that the system error which was RCIs problem, that they had a points credit of $40 given to me, but I only paid $99 instead of the $219 fee. And the $40 credit went in 3 times so I owe $80 back before I can use RCI services for booking anything.

If there is no way to invoice or let members know there was an error in billing, why can't an email or phone call let members know there is something outstanding on your books? This is outrageous and I think this ought to be eaten by RCI and let me TRY to utilize their services. If this is what I have to go through, I am not going to use this service and WARN others not to either!

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] sterling holiday package

My name is Sukhjit kaur brar( from bathinda, punjab, india) and my husband's name is Jasjitpal singh Brar. We are members of sterling and got holiday package through RCI for international travel. Firstly when I try to book any international resort, for example in canada, the customer service agents never find a good resort for me . They always say that they are pre booked even if I try booking in advance. Secondly, they are so rude and are totally illiterate about basic etiquette of customer service. I booked a holiday package at pacific shores resort and spa( nanoose bay, Vancouver island, Canada) for DEC 18-dec25, 2016 and gifted it to my daughter and son-in-law. But due to some undesirable circumstances they will not be able to go there, so we tried requesting them that if they could at some other time. Also my daughter called them from Canada to request for change. The customer service agents were very rude and hung up on her. They denied our request by saying that we cannot change date. We have paid a lot of money and in return we do not expect such responses. We are totally aware of the fact that there is nothing such which cannot be changed, but the company just wants to make money and not accommodate client requests.

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] timeshare (or whatever they call it today)

Purchased 30 weeks all inclusive at a resort, was given 2 additional weeks (exclusive) at same resort and was given (cough cough) 31 more all inclusive weeks though RCI over a 30 yr period. Total 63 weeks in 30 years. So why when I book though RCI for any of the 63 weeks, I end up paying all inclusive fees and air fare. Hum ends up costing more than if I were to go to a travel agent and booking that would include all inclusive fees, accommodation and air fare. So what was the benefit of buying (spending $6000.00 US)?

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] 2 weeks timeshare

Please contact me regarding missold timeshare in Malta.
Each time I try to send this complaint it us cancelled by your austen. I have tried more than 5 times to submit the complaint and I'm fed up of writing each time the story of how we have been treated.
I have been in contact with the resort and have had no joy what so ever from them. The room purchased was extremely poor in quality for a 5 star.
We were asked to pay £940 deposit and not told about the cooling off period.
We were told about free add ons but these never materialised as they were cancelled each time.
Hounding by staff to purchase another week.

Resort Condominiums International [RCI] marketing problem

This whole rci thing they do at many of rci properties was a deceptive marketing. I want to warned anyone who pays money upfront to take a very close look at the paper received and make right decisions at the time. Your money is not refundable. You lose every penny if you regret later.

On oct. 2016 (Last week), i went to grandview at las vegas for my week (42 week of year). The front lady said they thank me for a long time owner and provided me a package which had a lunch buffet in south point casino and two show tickets for lower prices comparing to buying it yourself. She would not accept credit card so i gave her $20 cash.
On the second day morning i went to the resort check-in room as was told. I expected to leave with several others bought the same package. It was supposed to leave around 12 noon but i could not see any indication it's happening.
I went to talk to the lady who took $20, she said i had to register with another lady in the front ( it was strange already to me). I went to give her one of the paper i got yesterday after paying $20. But after another about 20minutes a third lady called me name and told me i would go to a vip room in south point casino for brunch then attend a presentation.
I did not know there was some presentation involved in the package and asked her what was the presentation about. She said it's presentation from rci. I immediately told her i was not informed about the presentation and i was a rci member before and i knew rci. I requested $20 refund since i did not go for brunch and did not buy any show tickets at lower (Really?) price.
But the second lady i registered with refused to refund me the money and said it was non-refundable and stated on the paper.

I am an owner of points timeshare for grandview at las vegas. I bought it before it was built and a company was marketing it in a hotel on the strip.
At the time purchasing the timeshare, i also joined rci. I don't remember the details since it was over ten years ago.
I was in rci for about five years and cancelled membership since i did not find any valuable places to go from their offers. When i cancelled membership i had over ten thousand points left unused.
