I recently purchase a 24 pack of Publix spring water 16.9 ounces and one of the bottles has this horrible smell, it smelled almost like sewer water and chemicals. The other water bottles seemed to smell and taste normal. I found out that some other person complained about the same thing, but they wouldn't test the water for her or tell her the result...

Publix Super Markets promises unfullfilled

Ive put in 3 years with this company. Worked my a$$ off. Never missed a shift. Never late.

To start off. I dont even make $10 while they are starting people as stock clerks (im a GRS) at a higher rate. For example, another store managers wife got hired at my store. Straight to GRS and at $13/hour. She threw two floats in 8 hours. I throw 4 aisles!

This story gets long. I was promoted to GTL from my store manager and DM. So when I get to my new store. Nothing happens. So I am very patient (6 weeks). My store manager is only there in the mornings and I am there at night so I literally see the SM for an hour if that. The SM does not know how I work, what I do, anything! So I go into to talk to my SM about my promotion that was never given and was told I am not good at my job and threatened to be moved back to my old store. Ive never seen someone get so defensive at that level of a job. How is that anyway to treat an employee? And I know when I call my DM tomorrow, he will call my SM and tell him a bunch of crap! So now Im stuck in a store with no future and no structure and where my managers dont respect the employees at all.

My next step is to try and get on at the North Carolina stores and start fresh unless I can find another job in this economy.

Publix Super Markets wrongful

I use to work for Publix, I was a very hard worker in there produce department. I worked so hard that I went beyond my duties. I had worked for Publix for a little over a year, and would have went to another Publix, if they were available where I was headed to NC, but Publix was not available. I lost all respect for Publix after I was dealt with not receiving my money. I gave Publix and 4 week notice, and I worked hard for them, The managers at Publix knew that I worked hard, and I had even received a raise upon leaving. My managers of course used me to the point where I worked for them 9 days in a row. They knew that I wouldn't quit I needed the money for Christmas for my daughter, and moving expenses. However I was very disappointed when I had received my check. for nine days, my check ended up being 46.00 dollars. The reasoning for this when I called corporate was because I hadn't been there for over two years, and that I owed the money to them for taking a vacation, something that my manager they had advised to me failed to tell me when I started to work for the company. well I will never work for that company ever again, they had lost all my respect.

ATlanta area. Publix is definitely an upcoming neglectful dark company. They put so much pressure in their employees to perform. A giant Blind, lots of liars and back stabbers particularly RIS managers and DMs. They are all turning into evil and wrongful treatment of their employees as of 2014 they are really trying to get rid of older managers and make 20 year olds managers with ZERO experience.

Publix Super Markets bad place, abusive, rude, discriminatory

Many publixes in orlando, florida are terrible terrible places with some employees being just awful. A long time ago I applied to work at a publix in oviedo, fl and on my interview the male manager was just laughing at me — literlaly.. Just laughing. I told him I enjoy customer service and he literally just laughed in my face as if I was lying and didn't hire me — those are the kind of jerks that work there. At that same publix I received a lot of discrimination from deli workers many times... And at a few other publixes as well — hostile ro bad treatment from some deli workers — abuse and some extreme situations. Once, someone chased me out of a publix accusing me of something because I had exchanged some food out — with no basis or context! Just to try to humiliate me on the spot. Also, publix deil workers have been mean or tried to avoid helping me on purpose... When I twas my turn in line they pretend to be 'busy' and wait until someone else can help. Very bad plcae overall — shopping there is ok for the most part but some of the employees and management are terrible people. Ive also been told racist things by employees at pubilx, who have shown to be very racist... Something is just wrong with publix overall and the kind of sick people that work there...

What you say is very true I work at Publix in the pharmacy so luckily I don't have to deal with the store managers often, but from the few times I've dealt with management I was treated like garbage and harassed, I then reported it to human resources but very little was done, but what you say is true, the people working for publix are surprising nasty, it's like they've all been brainwashed by publix policies and have lost connection to the real world, all they care about is the stock they invested with publix. What is the world coming to?

I as well applied for a job, and have lots of experience, I was treated like a 3rd class citizen and
I did report the person to upper management, it was Not that I wasn't hired, it was how this
manager spoke to me, during and after the interview,

Also do they do drug tests for managers? Because this person was shaking while interviewing me,
never had such a bad experience in my life! AND I TOLD the upper management that also. We
will never shop there ever again.

Publix Super Markets bad treatment injury by rude nig*er manager or idiot working there, idiots

i went to this publix at palms plaza or whereever... I was very sick weak...major stomach ache and really wanted to faint...I wanted to go in there and just get the things I needed and leave peacefully but instead got literally harassed by some low life idiot who purposely yelled in my ear just to do it... I was walking by and really was doing everyting to avoid anything weird happening but then I saw this idiotic black male walk out from the back and I could tell he was going to be a problem...the MOMENT i was walking by him he turns around to YELL LOUDLY at his co-worker really LOUD across the room... to where it was in my ear and so painful...it was not only unnecessary and cruel but he did it intentionally because males tehse days are insecure rejects who when encountering an attractive female will do bizarre things to get her attention inculding yelling in her ear ... i personally am really sick of these idiotic insecure male rejects out there who find it fun to injure pretty women with some disgusting hopes of not only getting their attention butjust hurting them out of jealousy... I would never as someone is crossing my path loudly belt something to someone else right in their direction... of course he did it on purpose as he didn't do it until he noticed my presence regardless it was careless and rude ot do so. So now extreme ear pain can be added to my nausea and sickness because of some idiotic publix ### worker... also lots of pubilx idiots who work there can be rude idiots...

so then i walk towards the back and there are two other males who act in disregard and are pushing a cart literally right into me-- almost not noticing im there-- two employees...i had to move out of the way-- disgusting jerks they were... so im just trying to get my groceries and leave in peace while extremely sick and have had my hearing injured or just in pain adn then have idiots pushing carts at me as if im not even there... then as im finally leaving...the idiot male idiot who first yelled in my ear...begins rushing to the front to this area almost right in front of where i was about to walk... in order to avoid the psycho yelling again which im sure he would have done I rushed fast out of the place before the ### could get a word in...so i went into publix extremely sick wanting a peaceful grocery experience and had my ear yelled into and employees almost push carts into me... and the same employee almost yell into my ear again or rush to try to... hey you stupid ###ed publix employee males...stop harassing female customers who just come in to shop...or hurting them in some form...sickos...! Ive also noticed this a lot with males there...or who work there...they can treat some women badly and just feel the need to...or discriminate against them sometimes... it doesnt happen all the time or even often but it can happen and when it does it's bad...

Walmart? You're seriously rooting for Walmart? I hear they have some great humanitarian and wage policies. You and the racist, paranoid, insecure, man hater with no concept of capitalization, punctuation, or basic decency deserve each other. By the way, I'll take plastic, please and bag them heavy.

Working for Publix is a joke and shopping there is either for the ignorant or for those with more money than brains. They put you through incredible hoops in order to get a raise, fifteen cents, if you walk on water. If you have to work over your shift they won't pay you, They make you leave early on another day so as not to pay overtime. They would squeeze a nickle till the buffalo craps to save a penny. A despicable place to work, very unappreciative of the efforts of their employees. They repeat, to themselves, their talking points, a pleasure to work and shop here, till they actually believe them. They are the most overpriced supermarket in Florida and their seeming success is only because of a lack of competition. Come on Sweetbay, Aldis, Walmart and Save a lot.

Publix Super Markets check cashing

So the last three times I went into publix to cash my payroll checks I have had hostile words with employees/ management ect. Thee last time I ended up not being able to have my check cashed at all, one of my last checks was around 450$ so I stood in a long line for 15 min. Just for the employee behind the counter to inform me that their store limit was 350$ and would not be able to cash my check. So I informed her that you have a sign posted that says you cash payroll checks up to 500$ for a 4$ charge, she argued that the sign is generic and there was nothing she could do, then she told me to step aside so she could tend to another costumer, so I asked to see the manager who told me the same nonsense that the employee did, so I said either they were gonna cash my check or I wanted the corporate number, so the cashed it for me, but the last time I went in they did the same thing and did not cash my check, I want to know if I am wrong for expecting them to follow through on a 500$ check cashing limit when the sign clearly states that?

Why not get a bank account and cash your check there like normal people. Publix is a grocery store, not a bank.

I bought a lb of fish at this seafood department in Publix and come to find out when my wife goes to prepare me a meal, there is a sharp plastic like object inside of the fish!!! I take it out and say what the hell... immediately call the manager of that dept to complain. I could have swallowed this, thank God I didn't. But the bottom line is the cook...

Publix Super Markets abusive crazy mean deli workers, mean to women, mistreat them make a huge issue

beware of crazy mean deli workers at publixes---some of these places really employ low class uncivil sick messed up people who pick on females or whoever they want to for no reason at all. I went to this publix located in orlando, fl on the corner of dean road and univ blvd last week. The guy who helped me was REALLY nice and just really good...I had a great experience so i decided to go back. However, this time when I went back, my experience was a little different as the females who worked there, were abusive, mean to me, ruined my sub and tried to make me look like a criminal for getting two different kinds of bread. The major psychopath culprit was a very ugly hideous mean older white female wearing a hairnet. I assume she had to be a jealous person b/c im an attractive woman and she apparently had an instant irrational hatred for me for no reason right off the bat, and did everything in her power to make my experience hell, make me look bad and bring all the deli workers together to try to humiliate me and treat me so so badly. An african american younger female was taking my sub order. I asked for a sub with two different kinds of bread. I had done it at many publixs and that one and no one seemed to care. As she was making my sandwich, a mean crazy white lady next to her, older obnoxious monster, just jumped in and said that they aren't allowed to make a sandwich with two different kinds of bread on it. She made a HUGE issue out of it and did NOT let it go despite it not even being her problem. I explained how i even had it made there and its allowed...the crazy lady refused and then proceeded to make a huge issue out of it stating it was two different subs...The girl making my sub just said she would do it for me this time. Then, as she was doing it, the mean crazy white lady went and talked to her about it AGAIN telling her this and that...she wouldn't stop talking about it or making a deal about it.

then the obnoxious crazy white deli worker, went and gathered ALL the deli workers to talk to them about this, again as if it was some kind of huge issue. she was talking to all the workers saying "oh and she got a HOT sub too." i had asked for one half of the sub to be toasted and this crazy obnoxious psychopath was sitting around telling everyone that i had ordered a hot sub...which is of course completely FALSE. So this obvious psychopath is runnign around telling all the deli workers that i had got two different kinds of breads and a hot sub...then demanded for a manager to come- so the crazy lady went and called a manager-- anyone who even goes to publix can understand how outrageous this is. I heard a deli worker say "oh well just go ahead and do it." again as if something HUGE was happening or i was getting a free sub or God knows what-- it was so abusive and ridiculous and unnecessary. This sick woman was just trying to make an ordeal out of nothing so she could apprarently make me look bad or make it really hard for me to get a sandwich peacefully and without a lot of abuse or hell. So thsi nutjob was sitting there trying to turn my simple sub order into a huge ordeal...including everyone in the deli acting as if im doing something wrong for ordering a sub on two different kinds of bread...and then calling a manager as if it was a big deal. A deli manager came...and then he kind of looked at me...like...umm? then he talked to the girl making my sub and she told him the situation...he just kind of like "uh ok i guess" as he didn't care...of course no one would care---except there is a maniac freak crazy deli worker running around causing huge problems and embarrassing a customer making their experience hell and trying to make them look bad just for ordering a sub.

the crazy deli [censored] who did this to me shouldnt even be working there or employed at all--she has no manners, is abusive beyond understanding, and takes her abuse and anger out on young women and customers coming to purchase items. You would think she is a hazard for this company or any with that kind of disturbing attitude and behavior. She had no reason to interfere in someone else's order, take the initiative to make a huge issue out of it and cause a huge commotion over nothing and do anything liek this to someone...initially when she and the other girl said something to me i said well why dont you just call a manager and ask...then the african american girl didnt want to and just went ahead and it was the crazy woman who went around making a huge issue out of it. That crazy person obviously had no manners no customer service, and felt it ok to abuse customers in this way.

ALso, when the girl toasted my sub-- she threw it on the grill---again ludicrous... usually when they toast a sub they stick it in the oven. When I asked the girl..if it touched any butter---she said "no just oil." I said well i didnt want it to touch any oil? usually they put it in the toaster...then she went and threw it in the toaster---and was annoyed...and said "well its IN there." she was rude too...after me having to have gone through this whole ordeal of my sub order being this huge commotion for no reason then them purposely ruining my sub by toasting it on the grill...then acting as if i was a problem. These are the worst people to work in a deli... i should have gone there, had my sub made, and left---not gone through anything like this. I went there last week to encounter a really nice male who was just really nice and normal. After I got my sandwich i went to the front desk to talk to the store manager...the store manager went back to get me another piece of bread which i requested...b/c the other one im sure had oil on it...and she was raelly nice. I still think however she should have given me the sandwich for free for the hell I went through and that it wasn't even made the way I wanted it. If you want a hellish experience getting your sub made at a publix go to this store...as the people working in the deli are atrocious and crazy and go out of their way to publicly harass insult and demean customers getting subs there...

My manager from a previous store lied to my face, tricked me into a small 8' x 8' room with a 250 pound store manager who continuously harassed me about the fact that I refused to shake a new employee's hand who was being given a job that he had promised to me (not once but more than three times). He said, "I have never been so embarrassed in all my life"...

Publix Super Markets bullying

My friend's daughter just got a job at the Publix where I used to work. I was so horribly bullied by my manager and other employees that I transferred to another store. I receive less bullying at the new store which is only done to me by an assistant manager and one employee. At first I thought, oh it must be because I am overly sensitive. But I found out that her daughter was so bullied and terrorized during her first week of work in the Deli that she was coming home crying and depressed. She was so humiliated and degraded that she couldn't face the store management to resign so she just did a no show no call. I told her to stay and stick it out and eventually someone else would come along and the bullying would be shifted to another employee but she just couldn't emotionally hang in there. I have never been so humiliated and degraded as working for a company the likes of Publix. Is there a discrimination, hostile work environment, abusive language, harrassment and/or sexual harassment law suit out there? Let me know. I've got enough evidence on record and admitted to by the guilty employees in my file to prove it all.

Here we go again. Another day being bullied at Publix as one of their better employees. How many years does this bullying have to continue, I know not. The other day a customer came to pick up her cake. I greeted her and got her name. I knew the cake decorator for the day was in a bad mood (which is most of the time) and was already angry at me (for what I do not know). So I go over to the decorator and she says "What do you want?" I tell her nicely that I have a customer wanting a cake and tell her the name. She is standing in front of three small refrigerators with her hands on her hips and says, "it's in one of these three refrigerators". She will not move. The customer is waiting. I decided to gingerly move around her to door number 1. I dare not try door number 2 because she looked too angry like she would hit me, so after not finding it behind door 1, I moved to door 3 and thank God, it was there. I think she would have hit me if I had to ask her to move away from door 2. This goes on every day in our bakery. I am soooooo tired of being bullied by employees and managers. It's been almost 4 years and it never seems to change.

I am a customer of publix and have been since 1978.. 2 days ago, î was in a 10 item or less checkout, as all other checkouts had lines.. I am now a senior citizen, and frankly was tired after running errands prior to stopping at publix.. I intended to pick up a few things, but actually purchased about 17 items, ; bottom line is this man followed me in the quick checkout, and as î was putting my items on counter, he came over to my cart and started counting my items.. I asked him what he was doing, he then began a verbal tirade against me, hurling insulting remarks about my physical appearance over and over again.. i was stunned, as well as other people witnessing this scene, including the cashier, who was trying to check me out asap, which she did... it was humiliating, embarrassing, etc.. i certainly don't blame the store for the actions of this person, and î admit i was wrong to be in the quick checkout line.. but, î truly didn't realize how much over i was until then.. normally î would have told someone behind me with just a few items to go before me, but everything happened so fast i was nearly checked out anyway.. to make matters worse, this person then followed me out from the store and continued hurling insults! Actually, the man must be a very unhappy, miserable being, if not mentally deranged..i was fearful he might follow me in his vehicle.. terrible experience

Bullying is something that happens when you work in the store with poor management . I work at store #77 . My assistant bullying all my co-workers, humiliate all of us and stab behind back each one of us . You can be a good worker or honest, they don't really care . All they care is you accept anything from them even they lies, cheats ... you still have to accept .

Publix used to be good company to work for but not anymore, is the company have only rules for dishonest, no moral people to work with . You will be isolate from being hard worker and truthful person . It only getting bad to worst . I see my manager, assistant manager lies straight in your face, twist her words in your mouth . She is not even professional and keep running her mouth that D.M. said that she do good job ... GOOD JOB bullying your people ? Sad, isn't ?

I worked for Publix for 16 years and it was very hard and stressful work.I was the best at my job in all aspects.Publix store's can be clickish.Sometimes it doesn't matter if you are a good worker, if you are not excepted by the group then they can make you feel uncomfortable to push you to quit .I am not gonna go into detail about me, because the whole thing still bothers me about how I was treated at the store I worked at.All of my grief with Publix started when I was on vacation and I was seen outside a gay bar by a Publix employee.Well after that, the gossip spread not only in the store I worked but to other Publix stores.Jokes and harrassment started up by people that I thought were my friends. My personal life was now out in the open and people looked at me different and treated me different. It didn't matter how good I worked or how I never called in sick or how long I been with Publix. It only mattered that I was different now and considered and out cast and open to jokes and harrassment.

Publix Super Markets termination

This letter was emailed to Publix's CEO on behalf of my friend and of course I never received a reply.
I have a close friend of mine who has worked for Publix for over 10 years. He was charged with theft for consuming Deli-Fountain drinks one to two times a week without making payment for them for an alleged period of 6 months and dismissed on 1/31/12.

The circumstances' surrounding his discharge are minor, unintentional, and isolated.

We have to disagree with this decision as he was told by fellow employee's that the consumption of fountain drinks were for free and that it is common practice by other employee's to consume said drinks during working hours. The Store Manager stated that he admitted to his behavior for a period of six months, after a discussion with him I feel that the alleged time period was less. At the Store Managers meeting he was nervous, did not fully understand the reason for this meeting (as words were being put into his mouth), and felt very intimidated due to his lack of education. He offered to compensate payment to Publix the same day that he was first made aware that this was a violation of company policy. He is 68 years of age, he did not complete grammar school, has a hearing disorder, does not speak or read English, nor read his own language well. Had this been such a major violation why didn't someone at least afford him the opportunity by a verbal or written warning that this was against company policy prior to his termination and why did you wait 6 months and decide to terminate him at the end of his shift ?

When asked, he did not want to give names of any witnesses as he did not want to get those employees in trouble for fear of being black balled or injured as a result of this interrogation. He been a hard working employee for Publix for over 10 years and planned to retire at age 70 with dignity, honor, and respect. He never once considered this meeting would be cause for termination.

In the Discharge Review Form, they ask if the termination was in violation of their EEO Policy, a policy which he is not fully aware of. Violations that we do believe are: that he is being singled out due to age, education, a hearing disability, and perhaps ethnic background. He has always been a hard worker and on numerous occasions has been giving tasks to perform when others refused and thought that it was well below their dignity to perform. He feels that they may be acting out of retaliation for an injury he sustained to his lower back in Feb 2010. An injury of which he could have filed a law suit which was recommended to him by fellow employees, friends, and family members. He choose not to do so as he is a God fearing child and holds strong Christian beliefs. Mr.Crenshaw was told that we are living in bad economic times. He has a wife to support, mortgage payments, car payments, medical and various other expenses. He is willing to sign a waiver for his actions and not hold Publix responsible for his termination. I only asked that Publix has second thoughts and the decision to terminate him reversed.

Publix's consideration as well as compassion in this heart breaking matter will be greatly appreciated.

Yours Truly,

SFC G... US Army Retired

No, I am not looking to be a hero those day's ended in Vietnam. Publix answered me on two separate occasions via US mail and I was satisfied with the reply. I was asked to file a second appeal by my friend but on the last day he changed his mind. He found out and decided that while he was not working he was able to spend more time with his daughter and grand children. He filed for Social Security benefits and will be getting a little less money per month (after taxes, gas, etc) and no more aggravation. So to answer your question, the reward that we both received was that Publix (after the first appeal) changed the Notice Of Discipline from "Theft" to "Other" to accurately reflect the reason for his discharge. He thanked me for helping him and has put in his application to a small business (walking distance from his home) for a part time job that works ten to 15 hours per week . So my friend, he is no longer bitter and continues to shop at Publix just as I do. God Bless and take care.

Wow, i can't believe it. I am a disabled veteran with over 40 years of active and reserve time that defended his country so major companies can dismiss their employee's for little or no reason at all? Even in Vietnam or Iraq we did not shoot the enemy unless they were firing on us. No, even those by standers we thought were enemies and some were we held captive, interrogated, then either let go or sent to POW camps but at least they were giving a fair trial and I might add something to drink during their proceedings. Anyway, I guess that is why unions were formed in the late 1800s to protect the rights of workers and at least give them an opportunity to defend themselves. Now don't get me wrong I am not against union employee's but what I am against are corrupt union officials. All I ask is a little compassion be afforded to a ten year employee that has no union representation.

That's right, he is hard of hearing (not deaf) and does not speak nor read English. I can understand Publix's CEO not second guessing a store manager as from what I read on the blogs the store managers profit when they save money by firing other employee's especially when employee's are encouraged to rat on one another. So it all comes down to firing an employee for theft for drinking soda that the employee was willing to pay for when he was first made aware that this was against company policy. I just wonder if the other employee's that told him it was common practice to consume the drinks did so for their own gain.

In my nine years of Publix, it was never once made acceptable to not pay for any item, including but not limited to, deli drinks. The retaliation argument on an injury filed 2 years prior to the termination date. It seems that rather the complainant is looking for a reason to put Publix in the wrong. Unfortunately, the associate committed theft and was dishonest. "Dishonesty of any kind" violates Publix Code of Unacceptable Conduct #1. Tenure, age and work performance are not withstanding. Next time, I suggest, don't steal.

My name is Tammy Connally. I was working at store 0562 until August 2014. This was my first job after 20 years, being a stay-at-home mom. Having went through a divorce, I had no other place to live but with my elderly parents. My mother is ill and has had many strokes. The last one she had was towards the end of July, with continuous mini strokes to follow. When this incident happened, I had to be there to take care of her and make sure she got the professional care needed. She now has this. Requesting only one week off to get this incident taken care of, store 0562 asst.manager did not put me back on part-time work schedule for at least three weeks. I did not ask for this time off. Diane, asst. manager, kept me off work schedule for those two extra weeks, once again I did not ask for those weeks off. I called and questioned with no professional answer from any manager. Once again, I did not ask for the other two weeks off, but they continued to keep me off my part-time work schedule. Therefore, Andre told me there was nothing I could do for him. I need this appeal because I did not choose for that time off, which made it exceed 30 days absent. I was very professional at my job and had many customers who I satisfied completely according to Publix Customer policy. At one point while cashiering, I did not have someone to bag my customers groceries. I took upon myself to bag for them. This is when I had a co-worker, somewhat higher up than myself( not a manager) tell me I looked stupid as a cashier, in front of the customer I had just checked her groceries out. I feel all this is lack of communication on the front line where we are to work as a team. I ask you to review this situation as for I feel there was much lack of communication with all managers and Andre. Thank-you, Tammy Connally.

I have to say, in all my years I have seen even Store Managers as well as Dept. Managers snacking or eating behind the deli, bakery, and behind closed doors. The fact is once you are with PUBLIX for about 6 years, Now it changes. Managers are going to find anything they can to pick on a full time worker.. Labor cost money to a dept, Simple the longer a full timer works at PUBLIX the more money PUBLIX got to spend, Pretty much PUBLIX rides you or finds something so you quit or get fired . So managers will find something no matter what. I remember a Store Manager once who would being in his party Club every Thursday evening, Aprons would cook food for about 12 to 15 people ok, Come to find out it all wasn't paid for but was coming out of the deli dept as a loss. PUBLIX is just a business that keeps hiring new blood, Cause old blood cost to much, things start to change from your weekly hours, to your days off, etc, They will pick on you. I have seen so much ### in them PUBLIX stores and the story"s just stick to me like glue, and I remember all the crazy ### that would go on in them PUBLIX stores..I remember this part time gay women would close chicken area down 3 nights a week, nice lady, but she would make her own foot long Philly sandwich' grab a soda, on the clock ok, not pay for anything, then go eat it on the clock, in the deli backroom! We would tell on her, but nothing ever happen. No eating in the deli was what us full timers would hear but she got away with it! PUBLIX not a great place to work anymore. Just join that workers class action lawsuit get back at PUBLIX that way. AS FAR AS WRITING TO THE C.E.O. WELL HE MAKES MILLIONS SO HE GOT NO TIME TO HEAR ANY OF US, FOR THAT MATTER EVEN CARE, REALLY, THIS IS NOT THE OLD DAYS WHEN PLACES TO WORK CARED ABOUT LONG TERM WORKERS, NEW TIMES NOW! MONEY COMES FIRST THE AMERICAN WAY. PUBLIX benefits from cheap part time workers, with no paid vacation's, no paid holiday's, no paid sick time etc, and part timers make what? 9 dollars a hour if your lucky! Why pay more? Managers will ride you so you quit, or they will find something and get you fired.

My wife worked for Publix for 11 years in the deli and it was common practice for the deli and bakery to "snack". That was until she got on her newly hired deli managers bad side and was thrown into an interrogation room with a rent a cop. My wife doesn't lie so admitted to eating a piece of bread the day she was accused and had the store manager storm in and fire her on the spot for zero tolorance. Made her pay 1, 500 dollars within 90 days for the time and work for the rent a cop. Come to find out all these years later the deli manager that had my wife fired was leaving work on the clock to go home, lunches, arrands, and was only demdemoted?

Sorry, but this complaint just doesn't ring true.

Publix always answers complaints. You might not get the answer you want, but you do get an answer, If this is SO important, why did you give up after one alleged e-mail? What e-mail address did you use? Did it ever occur to you to use the e-mail form on the Publix website? Did it occur to you to pick up the phone? Call the HR department?

For something so important to you, you seem to have put in little to no effort. It gives me the impression that your only concern is looking like a hero for this guy rather than actually helping him.

Publix Super Markets dressing and cobbler were bad

Picked up complete turkey dinner nov. 23 2011... warmed up dinner nov. 24 (following all directions) turkey was great, along with mashed
Potatoes and gravy, but the dressing was very runny (even after we cooked it a little longer) with not enough taste and the desert was nothing but liquid, with a few pieces of apple in it. someone should look into the dressing and maybe give the customer an apple pie, instead of the frozen desert...

thanks... william long

Publix Super Markets poor service and employee attitude

The Deli department has a divided/roped off line and I entered at 845P on 8-31-10. This area is for sandwich preparation, drumettes an deli meats. There was 6 people in front of me getting sanwiches prepared. Once i was at the front of the line, some 18 minutes later, I advised needed some deli meat cut. I was informed by the clerk Lashon "You didn;t need to stand in that line for deli meats" There was 5 clerks in deli and none were able to ceven communicate this tidbit of information. There is no sign to indicate that. She smurked and told the other heavy set black woman. The woman rolled he eyes. i treported this to Milan, the manager who said he would leave an "email for the deli manager" This is the 2nd incident in 2 weeks. on 8-11, my mother and I entered this store and she needed one of the riding carts. They had 4 and none were plugged into the electric outlet. We talked to Milan and he tried out one and said it worked. We went half way down an ailsle and it stopped. My mother had to get out and walk the rest of the way. This store has very poor organization and mangement interaction. I want the store manager to contact me at [protected] to discuss appropriate action for these incidences. I do not have a good feeling that Milan (only a store manager for 1 month) has acontrol over these matters.

Publix Super Markets food poisoning

Bought eggs from Publix on Sunday morning, good them scrambled, and were no under cooked. 5 hours later my 6 year old daughter was vomiting, then 2 hours later my wife, and then my 17 month old son, 3 year old son, and then me.

Withing 24 hours everyone was very ill. Called Publix, and they tried to tell me there is no way it could be food poisoning, as it came on too fast. Which is complete rubbish!. Really expected them to at least take the eggs of the shelf until they could find out either way. But they did not care. They said they would send them away for testing, but God knows how many more families will get sick in the mean time.

I also got bad milk from them 2 months ago, although it was just sour. Seems like they have no standards, and although I have been religious publix shopper. I will never shop there again.

Publix Super Markets follows customers around intrusively to make them feel uncomfortable, then says its publix policy

nothing against the publix store...the manager was really nice...I went into this publix and it was close to closing. There was a male employee standing in grocery...pretty soon he began following me around anywhere i went...in the grocery section...it was getting irritating...literally just following me and standing right there...i went to the middle section and then he went back there...ive never had anyone follow me around in such an intrusive pathetic and stupid way and finally I said to him...is there a reason you're following me around everywhere I go? he said that it was company "POLICY" to do that and to ensure customer service and who knows what--err wtf? yeah right...total BS...ive been shopping at publix for 20 years now and i guarantee that is NOT company policy to do that. I couldn't really get everything I wanted and gave the ### eric a dirty look and then rushed away from the grocery section...I then went to ice cream, and when I was done I turned around and there eric was--in an aisle right across he had followed me there too...this was absurd...afterwards, I called publix and the manager and the manager assured me that was NOT company policy and that the guy's name was eric and he closes grocery and he had no idea why he was doing that to people and that he should not do that or make people feel uncomfortable. He assured me he would speak to him about it and I trust he would...but this low life idiot employee ### eric, feels it's ok to intimidate and follow women around and try to make them feel uncomfortable and then lie his stupid a** off about it and claim that his following someone around is 'company policy"...he is a loser who is full of [censored]...pathetic jerk employee

Publix Super Markets smokers

Why is it at publix these people are literally entitled to take multiple 15 minute on the clock breaks per day? I'm getting pissed seeing this and some agile people getting doctors notes so they don't have to do certain things or lift anything . They're epitome of laziness . And no I don't feel sorry for them .

I think the OP is suggesting workers taking smoke breaks like every hour. The OP looks like they work at Publix as well. This is like where I work and I don't work at Publix,

Because by law I'm allowed to take a ten minute break for every two hours standing. If you worked in the deli at my publix and smoked you would want your breaks too. ###.

I shopped at this store several times and I find the customer service is not real good and the prices are over whelmingly high and to not have the service to go along with that hurts me and my pocket. I went to purchase some salmon filets and they were fairly large. I Asked the clerk to cut one in half for me and "annie" told me to do it myself. Also most...

No you didn't earn it more. You are half their age and it is called discrimination. The only problem is that people twice your age have children and own a home with a mortgage to pay and need medical insurance for their family. They have a lot of financial responsibility and are note being promoted for working as hard as you are. When you are older you have less years to live and spending any amount of years working hard for a company that you respect but doesn't respect you is less years you have to build up a career or create solid position in a company. You are young and they are old. Plain discrimination. In fact back in 1997, Publix was sued for 81.5 Million dollars for discrimination and they settled out of court because they knew they were guilty and didn't want it to go to court or the public. 81.5 millions dollars hummmmmmmmmmm what are they trying to hide? Discrimination.

So not true ... I have been promoted and now have my own department after only 8 years with the company ... yes I'm young... no I don't have relatives that work for publix... yes I'm a female ... no I didn't " blow" my way to the top. I worked hard, showed a passion for my job, came to work when om time when I was scheduled. And yes I got promotions over people twice my age and who have been doing the same thing since before I was born. Oh well for them. Maybe I earned it more?

If you feel this way, maybe you should talk to HR. Have you been trying to get into management? If so, ask why you seem not to be getting promoted, and if there is something you can nwork on. Then once you make your feelings known, you may see a more friendly management. Also, isn't Publix employee owned? I guess the last laugh for those 20 year employees will be cashing in their Publix stocks and living very confortably in retirement, kind of like they were management.

The managers at this Publix are terrible. They do not care about their employees and are not considerate at all.
