Hello! Me again, I see this happening time and time again... Part time workers, working 40 hours, but that are not full timers and are told they can not get full time... I know, from witnessing this in stores.. There are part time workers who have been with our company for many years who want full time, don't get it, but are getting 40 hours every other week... Why is that?.. I've even heard stories from a couple of employees, deptment managers telling a part timer they have full time when it was a lie... They just had 40 hours, but it wasn't in the system as a full time employee... Facts.. What is going on? Publix can be a better place to work, or, not a better place because of you (Supervisors)... Mr. George wouldn't have let this happen...

They are getting away with it, who gets screwed you part times... its just not fair... companies pay part timers low hourly rates, , the over time is zero on a part timer... but, , but, , ALBERTSONS FORMER WORKERS CAME INTO PUBLIX AS SUPERVISORS or FULL TIMERS... with no number of years put in...WHY?

Well, my friend sad thing is, , when managers need part timers to work 32 to 40hrs week, , sure during busy season or whatever they get full time hours... Then slow season comes and then they dont get it... Unfair. Theyre guaranteed a job.. must say, some part timers just wanta do nothing but walk around all day looking busy.. Even got full timers that do that, and managers.. My point is people gotta pay bills, slow season not a good one.. Million dollar business buddy.. peace. S.A.S. stand and shine...

I was told recently by the Administrative Coordinator that they do not pay the full timers for Easter anymore. Right before that I was asking people what difference does it make if they are closed on Easter because they don't have to pay the part-timers, just the full-timers. Then she said that and said, we were losing money. Ok, now they don't have to pay part-timers or full-timers on Easter, SO, what is the problem with being closed? She had nothing to say when I asked her that question!

My husband was promised a full-time position during his interview process, but he is still working as a part-time employee for 5 months now ... averaging 40 hours per week. The promise was broken and there is no full-time position in sight. He is one of many part-time employees working full-time hours and receiving no benefits. Publix is not focused on the employee... they are only looking at the bottom line figures and saving a buck. My husband chose Publix as a career move. If they cannot even give people full-time... how long will it take for him to get to management? 10 years? 15 years? He was a grocery manager at Harris Teeter after only 3 years. Everyone discontinue shopping at Publix. They treat their employees like crap. Choose Harris Teeter if you have one nearby.

This is one of those "loopholes" that companies are allowed to get away with.

Its immoral, unethical, and really...its illegal, but they get away with it.
