Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com - didn't order or receive items

earlier this summer my house had burnt down and we had to move to another place for a few months while the renovated my home. During this time I received a bill from publishers clearing house or PCH saying I orders a few items from them and I owed them about $37 bucks and I was like, wait...I didn't order anything from them and if I HAD I would have paid...

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com poor website/no customer e-mail

The new regime of "instant-win" games produced by PCH.COM more often than not does not work and website access is extremely slow. Furthermore, because there are some participants who have very high token balances so early in the launch of these new games, I assume PCH.COM provides selected participants preferential access. Also, I question why PCH.COM requires a complete date of birth to respond to certain items on their suite of websites, and how secure is their website account information? I won't ever purchase any merchandise or services from PCH.COM, and I suggest most other users do likewise. The bottom line is PCH.COM is a marketing company covered with a thin veneer promoting a small chance to win a prize.

I agree with the comment about how is it that some people get such high token levels on games that have just started? I also have the trouble, and it occurs more often when playing the 10x games, that I play the game and instead of getting a token reward I receive a black screen, which requires me to leave the site and lose any tokens that I have won. I also have the same trouble with the sweepstakes page-http://new.pch.com/instantwin which allowed me to get to the last sweepstakes entry before "unlocking" the big money prize. I think it was either 10 million or 10 thousand dollars, I'm not sure because I was going through the steps to unlock the chance and didn't realize I had to remember the amount for a complaint. I thought I would finish the last step and the prize would be unlocked not that I would finish the last step and my computer would freeze! I hope this can be fixed quickly and wish there was some way to reward/reinstate all the lost tokens.

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com - fixed online games

Publishers Clearing House has a slot machine game in which by play you will earn diamonds to use later on a roulette game to win money on the wheel or a chance later to win money in a drawing. My complaint is these games are fixed (rigged) as to never have a winner. At the end after you have earned your diamonds to use as coins to play roulette .the game ha...

Unable to login to PCHGames. PCH continually says I am on a mobile device and forwards me to search. I am on an Ubuntu Desktop machine. Firefox, Opera, and Chromium all did the same thing and would not let me stay on the Games site. I switched to the Linux machine because of all the problems the windows machine had with PCHGames, (slow running, requires Firefox update). Their web programmers truly, TRULY, SUCK.

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com billing for items that I never received or ordered

I went on the Publishers Clearing House Website after seeing a commercial on television in April 2012. I decided to test my luck and enter into the PCH sweepstakes contest on or around 4/10/12. I didn’t sign up for any of their magazine advertisements or anything offered for sale (since the site clearly stated that purchasing merchandise wouldn’t increase my chances of winning). On 4/21/2012 I received a fraudulent bill statement from PCH stating that I ordered a Wireless Digital Door Bell for 19.96 on 3/25/12. The Delivery charges were supposedly 7.99 and the total balance past due is now $27.95, however I never ordered a doorbell and I didn’t enter the contest until 4/2012!

I stay in a high rise apartment unit with 24/hr security. The tenants are notified over the phone so there is no need for a doorbell. All guests and packages are authorized and documented through our 24/hr security staff. All packages must be signed and authorized through security and management before the tenants’ can even pick up a package. The Main office has no records of a package ever being delivered from or sent back to PCH. There are no records of a package ever being delivered to this address.

PCH also forwarded my phone number to numerous marketing agencies and I had no knowledge of this.

I never ordered any magazines during this last give away for 2015. I am currently being billed for a Vegetarian magazine as well as the Star magazine in the amounts of $14.95 and $44.00 respectively. Not only were they never ordered, they never delivered them either. I Pay MY DEBTS. This practice of false billing is a rip off . How do I remedy this situation and avoid this obvious stain on my credit?

I never order anything from publisher clearing house. Each time I received an email requesting payment... I responded never ordered nor received. About two weeks later two small packages were deliver to my door by my mail man. I declined receipt and he wrote won't accept order, return to vendor. Now I receive a collection notice, I call the number, emailed and called several times... All recordings. Cld not leave message. Now I write on letter of collection I didn't order or receive anything... No response. Now I am getting automated phone calls several times a day for collection of debt of 26.78 . What the hell ... How do we remedy this. Principle...

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com scam alert

This morning I finally answered a phone call from [protected]. This was not the first call I had received from this number but was the first I had answered. The call originated in Jamaica and was from a man who gave his name as Michael Watson. Mr Watson first said he was calling from the Publishers Clearing House to inform me that I had won a sweepstakes for $2, 500, 000 and a new Mercedes. He sent an email to one of my business emails and asked that I call him when I got it. Later in the day I called him back and told him nothing about it looked right to me and please don’t bother me again with his calls.

Throughout the day I have had no fewer than 8 phone calls from this man wanting to know what the problem was. Why didn’t I want my $2, 500, 000 prize. I then explained to him that I wasn’t sending anyone $500. If I had, in fact, won a prize I shouldn’t have to pay for it.

Mr. Watson told me that the $500 was so that it would be tax free! Once again I told him I wasn’t paying $500 for a prize and not to call me again. At this point he asked if I wanted to talk to his general manager. I didn’t really understand the name of the general manager (these men are both very hard to understand and speak with a very heavy accent). The second Mr. Watson also told me to go to CVS or Walgreens and purchase green money back card, to be sure and get a 14 digit card rather than the 16 digit one because it wouldn’t work in their system and call him back immediately so I could have my prizes delivered.

When I questioned him about what bank the prize check was to be paid on he said the Bank of America, my earlier email showed a check from the Bank of Wachovia which has been out of business since 12/31/08. He informed me that the Bank of Wachovia is a branch of the Bank of America-which it isn’t, they were bought out by Wells Fargo, and that my prize check could easily be transferred to my personal bank.

I haven’t and don’t intend to have any more dealings with these men and I hope by taking the time to make this posting it will help some others keep from making a very costly mistake. Please be forewarned–they are very persistent!

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com don't expect help from pch.com

I changed some information in my PCHgames account and clicked "save" and then was deactivated. For 2 days now, I can't seem to get anyone from this company to help me get re-activated. I refuse to re-sign up and start all over, when I can just go to Pogo.com or something and play games there for free or maybe even pay to get rid of advertisements. I even went to FB PCH and someone in one of those accounts just referred me to the questions' page for PCHgames, which didn't help at all, I still cant' get into my game account or play games, can still play free games but just don't get any credit for it which defeats the purpose of even playing at all. I've heard a lot of good things from this company but they really suck at customer service unless you buy a lot of stuff from them or something. I refuse to play or buy anything from them unless they resolve the game issue. After submitting a question to the company to get ahold of them, I was told I would hear a reply in 2 days, well I'm still waiting.

The pchgames.com website did "updates" on 2/15/13, & now I am unable to log in to the site. This is not something that has occurred before in the year that I have been participating on pchgames, & I do not know how to correct the problem myself. Thank you!

I've been trying to win for 40 years and the only things i've won are "extra entries", and tokens. I have never won anything I bid on with the tokens either. I don't truly believe anyone wins this. I am homeless and staying with family so I can finance a move to tennessee. it doesn't get much poorer than that, unfortunately if their are winners this wouldn't be how they are determined. I don't have any unrealistic expectations of ever winning. that's silly.

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com rigged, unfair games

The last game on the PCH Casino games is a wheel that spins to reveal a winning of game entries, money or "spin again". There are 6 or 7 options for the wheel to stop on. But, in the dozens of times I have played the game it has ONLY stopped on "try again" or "1 entry" . It is physically impossible for a wheel to only stop on 2 options out of 6 unless it is rigged that way. It is rigged to not allow a winner.

There is no way they are awarding all the prizes like cars, motor homes, cash, etc in their drawings that are done repeatedly. It’s all a big lie to get you to buy products from them. The token awards are a joke to make people believe they can actually win these prizes! Huge waste of time!

The problem I'm seeing here is that people are playing with naive expectations and zero understanding of how the games work.

Millions of people are playing these PCH online games, and I can only assume the games are set up on an algorithm. So, NO - it's not as if you're at a blackjack table, or a local fair spinning a wheel. Let's say the chance of winning something in one of those "in real life" situations is one in eighty. ~If PCH set their online games up that way, they'd have thousands of people a day winning thousands of dollars apiece! The company would go broke in no time.

I've been playing for 3 or 4 years, and I play quite a bit. I've won about $130, total. I've won $10 a couple of times, $5 a couple of times, and once I won $100 playing one of their daily tournament games. IF I should ever happen to win $1,000 or more, I'll be totally thrilled and very grateful - but with millions of people playing, I'm not betting my life on it the way some people here seem to be.

These games are for entertainment - and they're FREE to play. They are not like in-depth, complicated role-playing games that programmers spend years designing. Yes, in PCH online games the arrow, or the ball or whatever will go to the same set of places every time - until the algorithm hits and it's time for you to win. (I don't really know how algorithms work, but I do know these games are not all about skill. I used to try to place my cursor in the "right" spot to knock a bottle down, etc. - until I realized that was a total waste of my time, because the computer algorithm determines whether you win or not. If you want to call that "rigged," you may, but I don't consider it rigged. It just how these games work.)

As to people who don't have money never winning, just go to the "Winners" tab and you can see videos of lots of people receiving various large prizes - and some of them obviously don't have much money.

PCH states repeatedly on the game sites that you do NOT need to buy anything in order to play OR to win a prize. They state clearly that making a purchase will not increase your chances of winning. (I saw someone on here saying they were "searching for something to buy" so they could enter!) All I can say is: Read the rules! The rules are right there for you to read. If the rules aren't agreeable to you, then don't play. Simple as that. Sorry to sound grumpy, but I hate to see people be so dumb about it and then blame PCH.

I've been playing pch for about a year and a half on and off. I was hoping to see an actual winner of a huge prize comment on here. I won 10$ one time so far and nothing else since then. It seems like winning a super prize from pch is close to impossible. it's so time consuming with all the ads, and not worth it at all.

C
C
Carolyn C

I agree it is very time consuming. I'm retired now with plenty of time to play. (And the ads are extremely annoying, but I just live with it.

(I DID email them once in alarm because they hadn't carefully reviewed an ad and it was a...well, it was a "sex play" thing. I think when they originally accepted the ad, they thought it was for something like "Depends." I immediately got a reply from them thanking me and I never saw that disgusting ad again.)

If I get tired of spending my time playing the games, I'll just quit. No one's forcing me. :-)

all pch games are rigged so you lose every time example the target game the arrow always goes to the left even when i aim dead center but what really pisses me off is I used 30 Million tokens to bid on a cash prize of 500 dollars and I lose
how could you lose with 9999 chances unless pch is randomly picking a winner ?
I must be on the blocked from winning list must not have spent enough money and am not old enough even i'm over 50 i've used well over 100.000.000 tokens and have never won

Of course they're randomly picking a winner! That's what a sweepstakes is. I've also used tokens to buy 9,999 chances to try to get something - so if you are doing and I am doing it, how many hundreds of thousands of other people are also doing it?

Just like putting your name & contact info on a piece of paper and dropping into a box at the mall to win a car, you take your chances! And what did you really lose?

100,000 tokens is not a lot. Heck, I am currently at 1.2 billion and I doubt that I am in the top 20% of active players. Your odds of winning are not good, but they don't hide that. If you read the details, you are made aware of the odds. The games are not "rigged". They specifically say, for example, that on a wheel with 6 prize options, you don't have a 1 in 6 chance of winning. LOL. I don't know why people think that a company will magically give away billions of dollars away willy-nilly to everyone who plays. So, read the fine print. I know in this world of immediate gratification that we live in, nobody wants to do that. But it is so ridiculous reading all these clown-like expectations from people who think they should win money for shooting a digital arrow at a target. LLOL (literally laughing out loud).

Read the fine print and decide if the odds of winning are worth your time.

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com don't waste your time

Over the last several weeks, I have submitted several technical issues to pchgames.com. After receiving their stock answers many times, I finally called the help line. No luck there either. The gist of the response was "upgrade to the latest flash or we can't help you". I was at Flash 10.1 but a few updates below the current (10.1.8xxxxx).

I have uploaded proof of the problems I encountered and add them here for your curiosity.

I finally had enough and asked how to remove my account and got a message that they have disabled it.

I have better things to do than to waste my time uploading obvious errors several times only to have nothing done about it.

The odds of winning anything is slim to none! These games generate immense wealth for the publisher (PCH, etc.), via sponsored advertisements. The tracking and malware that’s repeatedly installed on participants phones, tablets and computers are not only annoying but could be potentially destructive to the device itself (one way to determine if your system has been compromised is obvious signs of lagging and or crashing). The bottom line is that regardless of how much we all want money, it’s simply not worth the time (many years to win even a cheap prize) and risks involved. I would recommend not clicking on their emails and also clearing your computers cookies, history and cache memory in order to free up your system and regain your privacy. Closing Nate: Personal information is often sold to third parties, including bill collectors, law enforcement and a host of unsolicited advertising.

I feel for you, I updated my profile account information and after clicking "save", I was deactivated. Tried for 2 days to get someone to help me and got a response from someone in FB PCH account telling me about the questions' page for PCH. This was no help at all, I was told about updating stuff and I had all the latest of everything, so I know it was on their end and not mine. Glad I'm not alone. I can just go to Pogo.com and play the same games for free and if I don't want to sit through the stupid advertisements I can at least pay unlike PCHgames. And I never really had any problems from that site and they respond to you quickly, or you can ask people for help in a game in "chat rooms". Never seem to get a response from PCH unless you owe them money.

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com fraud tournament

On the 22nd I took part in a 24-hour Mah-jongg tournament to which the first place winner was to receive $1, 000.00. At ten minutes before the game I refreshed the board and took a picture of my score and was clearly in first place with a 2, 950 token lead above the next high score. Just before midnight the board was refreshed again and it still showed me that I was 2, 750 token lead. Then the game quit and I still had another screen up showing my last score which was held in first place. This morning I get an email from Publishers Clearing House stating "congrats!" - however, the actual place they listed me in was FOURTH PLACE for only a hundred dollar prize. THEY ARE CLEARLY SCREWING ME OVER! I played hard for 24 hours and busted my butt off for that first prize and now they are scamming me out of $900 I rightfully earned. I have attached my proof! I am pinkpenguin76, obviously.

I am hereby withdrawing my complaint about PCH because they contacted me and informed me of something that was confusing, but did explain why I did not receive the grand prize. For future game players, grand prize will go to the person(s) who scored the highest score during a game during the tournament (one score). I won FIRST PLACE (their letter informing me I was Fourth Place was incorrect and they amended it to First Place - however, this first place was for who scored the highest tokens (which is what I went by) and therefore, the first place in tokens was for a prize of one hundred dollars. Therefore I received the right prize amount and they fixed my title to first place in that area. Thanks - hope this helps y'all to understand an aspect of PCH contest rules.

...waiting - though I am sure they are going to come up with some lie. Which is why I am preparing myself for this and letting people know. If they justify the situation I will have no problem coming back and notifying everyone they rectified the problem and all is well... but if not, the public deserves to know what they are doing so they can make a decision for themselves whether or not to use this company's sweepstakes and contests. There are lots of poor and elderly that truely believe, like me, that they won - when in fact it appears they had no intention of allowing me to win that first place prize of a thousand dollars.

You think I didn't let them know - WITH my proof? I will still post my complaint on message boards to warn others of their schemes. If they can't fess up - an attorney might help them along. They have been sued (and lost) for shady practices in the past. There isn't a problem if nobody SPEAKS UP. I will not allow companies to do this to others - its not just about ME. If you don't have positive feedback and just want to state the obvious, you should just leave it alone. If I wasnt aware of how they could SCREW YOU I wouldnt have been smart enough to photograph my winning.

Nov 24, 2011 3:32 pm EST

I LAUGH AT THAT BECAUSE I CANT BE DISCONNECTED AND STILL PLAYING THE GAME AND STILL SEEING MY SCORE GO UP... ALL THE WAY UNTIL MIDNIGHT. THEY SCAMMED ME - PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

Update by pinkpenguin76

I should add that I was in Arizona during the contest so ten pm shows on the clock because PCH is located on the East Coast so ten in AZ = midnight in East Coast.

yeah i think there are some cheaters or hackers in these tourney's. i was first place all night and some guy that wasnt on the list as long as i was came from the bottom and over me and it takes about 3 and half hrs to get 20k tokens in the black jack game gettin max token prize 750 and as fast as the game allows you to go with the lil 20 second adds and what not.there should have been no way he could have caught up to me and pass me . being that far ahead getting 750 every game and clicking buttons before they are even up.kinda aggravates me i played for 3 and half hrs to lose 1st place to somone that wasnt playing as long as i was. i played other day too and was like one game behind 1st place so 750 chips and somehow he gained a 10k lead over me over some time makes no sense considering you can only go as fast as the game lets you. i mean thats getting 100k chips first hand then just hit stand ever other hand and i was clicking so fast the the buttons didnt even pop up for you to click em. so there could have been no way someone could catch up. something is real fishy

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com ordered but never received magazine

I ordered a subscription for Archaeology Magazine approximately 4-5 months ago. Have not received a single issue. I have subscribed to this magazine for many years. I mistakenly let my subscription expire. Your mailings came at the same time that I was going to renew my subscription. I thought I'd" kill two birds with one stone". I'll enter your contest and renew my subscription at the same time. I now feel that you have taken advantage of me. I WANT MY SUBSCRIPTION! I really think you have become a deceitful and dishonest company!

Me too, but different magazine. I contacted them and they said I'd have it by now. Again, I've still never received it. I'm wondering if contacting them a second time will do any good.

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com being overcharged for merchandise

It has come to my attention that PCH tends to overcharge for their merchandise as compared to other competitors for identical or the same merchandise.

Examples:

Company A charges $8.00 for Lint Balls(package of 12); no shipping costs; PCH charges $11.96(package of 12 Lint Balls); plus $5.99 s/h cost for a total of $17.95. Difference in cost of $9.95 in favor of PCH.

Company B charges $9.99 for Bottle Tops(set of 12); no shipping costs; PCH charges $11.96 for set of 12 Bottle tops; plus $3.00 s/h cost for a total of$14.96. Difference in cost of $4.96 again in favor on PCH.

I've been a customer of PCH for many years paying the high prices without any knowlege of the excessive charges. Just imagine that there are many other customers like me.

I haven't seen anyone on here so far having problems with missing paid payments ! I've been paying and balance wasn't going down. They said I only paid $25.44 in 4 months ? I have paid $176.82 ! What you order and haven't received, you still owe. What is going on ? Even Customer Service is convincing. Still trying to find where the money goes. Is this to make you look bad so they won't pick you as a winner ? Been playing since 1999, never won. I give up but still need to get this bill right !

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com making fraudulent promises

I have received at least two letters a week for the past year with promises of millions of dollars if you buy one of the hundreds of cheaply made over priced products. Each letter I receive has a different date for when this prise will be awarded and there are multiple prizes. I have only seen one prize a year given away and they do that on National Television. They also offer cars, Tv's other cash amounts and they are always saying this or that will be given away in, of course the area you are living in. This goes on year around. The majority of people targeted are like me {I believe} on a limited income.Tis has happened over and over again.

I Must totally agree with this,
All Publishers Clearing House is about is Fraudulant Activity. You Play their games and slots, Then you are FORCED to watch their damn commercials.(THE SAME ONES, OVER AND OVER) just to get to the next item.
PCH makes their money by commercials...If I am not mistaken did not the FBI just bust an internet scam ring, for rerouteing people to their commercials?...sounds like they need to do the same thing with PCH!

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com received a fraudulent phone call

I received many calls this week telling me that I was the winner of $3.5 million dollars cash. Then I was instructed to go to the nearest Western Union to pay a FedEx fee of $199. +/-

I told the caller I'm very disabledand I have no money. I have nowhere to get the money, and I don't beleive this call is from Publishers clearing house. If it was, You would not be asking me to pay for the delivery of $3.5 million.

I agree with this whole heartedly; I was on my face-book page when the women who comes to the house with the big check IM'd me and asked if I knew why she was IM"ing me. Playing dumb I said no. I went into my Microsoft Word opened up a new document and copy pasted every thing she said. Than she asked me for my phone number and when the phone rang it was supposed to be the grey haired Representative who then instructed me to go to Wal*Mart and buy a $100, 00 Green Dot Card. They would then come to my house, verify the Green Dot Card and present me with now get this one "The Largest PCH Jackpot in History. $10, 000, 000.00. I tried to set up a sting operation with the Green Acres Police but they told me they couldn't do it because it would be entrapment. I was going to buy the card for $4.95 with no money value just to nail these ###. Great Police Department. I had the Dumb ### so sure that
I was doing it, I had the guy on my cell phone talking to me as I was heading to the Wal*Mart. I do hope someone straps on a pair of Balls and catches these S, O, B's. before they rip off more innocent people. Personally I'd like to see them caught and led into a town square and horse whipped every day by each person they scammed or attempted to scam and then led into a cell for Public Viewing. Have big signs over their cells that reads, "I'm the ### that likes to Scam and Rip Off Innocent People. Just a little good old fashion American Justice. ONE OTHER NOTE: GOD BLESS AMERICA and if anyone doesn't like that Get out of America.
