CVS policy and service

It seems if this is happening where I'm formally complaining it's pretty bad. Last stop or end of the road where you take one last try to have faith, honesty and compassion in people for not only a customer but another human being . I take a controlled substance and need to personally pick up my prescription every month. Six months ago I dropped off my prescription and asked how long the wait would be. The tech said "oops, we don't have any in stock. How about I call another CVS? I replied "great, thank you". After a few calls she found my prescription a few cities away. I was happy. She handed me back my prescription and I looked at her puzzled. She then told me it was my job to drive there and get it. What? I thought I was the customer? Lol I have been a customer for 20 years and for the past 7 years picking up the SAME medication. Anyhow, I picked it up and it was substantially cheaper. I asked why? The tech shrugged and stated don't complain haha Two days later I felt dizzy at work. I ate lunch and still felt dizzy. About an hour later I got so dizzy I passed out. I called my doctor and he took me right away. My co worker drove me to the doctor. The doctor asked about the meds. I took. I told him about the CVS saga and he asked to see my pills. He stood up angrily and told me the other CVS filled my script with the wrong meds.! I was supposed to get time released and they gave me full strength ! The doctor gave me a new one and told me he would be calling CVS. He then told me to give them the old one. Upon arrival they "miraculously" had my medication . I took out the old or wrong script and before I had a chance to speak the tech said he couldn't refun my money. I couldn't believe it. I ask why?! He had the audacity to tell me if I wanted a refund, I had to drive to the other CVS! I told him they almost killed me and I'm not making an issue out of it because I'm not like that. I believe it could have been an honest mistake but now he is being ridiculous. He ignored me. Just as he was to call the next person I asked him a question., , , , I have to drive to pick up my script because it's a controlled substance. One script per month. Any more is against the law - and I'm leaving with 2 SCRIPTS! He said, I know . Unbelievable So here I am today I go in with my Script and he tells me he is out. He asks "you want me to call?" Lol omg I said NO ! And asked when is it going to be in. He tells me Nov 4. My two choices ; drive across town for my script(right one?), or go three days without my meds. !? 33 years working with the public it is sad the poor customer service and uninterested responses from the techs who shouldn't be working on the medical field with people. Save those spots for people who want to make a difference or even save lifes. These individuals have no regard for anyone. I think making a customer drive to a CVS 35 -45 minutes away is unacceptable. We are in a technological age. How about a printout of customers who have the same medications EVERY MONTH AND ORDER ACCORDINGLY? 7 years of the same meds and I have to cross my fingers when I go to CVS? I am a mother of four, full time HS teacher, college student, and business owner. It is inconvenient to drive to the doctors every month but CVS makes it almost impossible to make it convenient for the customer in any way.

CVS employees price gauged by giving me an out of pocket price, when I have insurance. How do I know they aren't putting the script through my insurance after I leave and pay so they can pocket my refund? 1st time I caught it this month: Went to CVS in October 16, 2015 (same pharmacy for 20 years CVS #0295), to pick up a called in prescription for an...

CVS pharmacy employees

My husbands prescription was faxed over from urgent care around 7:20 pm. Oct. 19/15. We wasted a little time in town. Came through drive through, not really expecting it to be ready yet. The lady (Joyce) in which we both have dealt w/ before, very, very rude! Said, oh that won't be ready for another hr. We were SUPRISED @that ! 3 cars in parking lot, no one but us in drive through. We both said, an hr ? Shocked. She said yes, it's only the 2 of us here & we are very busy! So we went in to wait. No one there waiting. I thought I'd get my flu shot while I was there. I was completely refused! Again, another lady said, we can't, it is only the 2 of us here & we are to busy! I also don't think they can count cus, there were 3, pharmacist, rude Joyce @window & woman that refused me a flu shot on register. I said, ok, well, we will be here waiting for his prescription. We sat down. Maybe 20 min. Later a guy a son dropped off a prescription, Sat next to us & was called up for it w/ in 10 minutes! What the heck? My husband & myself were feeling horrible while waiting but, had too, he needed his med! So I walked up, for them to see we were still waiting! So the register lady reasked our name. Walked over, there it was, in bin & who knows how long, well, Joyce knows! Cus, she made comment to lady who took out of bin, that we didn't have insurance info & didn't know if we were paying cash? We always seem to have insurance issues here! It took another 20 minutes to get that all straightened out! & during the whole time we were there ( probably over an hr) all, all 3 ! of them did nothing but complain to each other how it's only the 2 of them ! (So that was the short version! ) Also, we both thought it was just us, Joyce was rude too but, no we have seen / heard her several different times be very rude to many others! She probably shouldn't be dealing w/ customers! I returned to pick up my auto refill jus a few days later on the 24th. I saw all 3 same women, uuuhh... but an added young guy @register very nice. Got my med & asked for a flu shot again. He said, I would have to go to prescription drop off. ( no problem) but, apparently it was, same lady that refused me a few days ago, said, it would be a least a 45 min. Wait, this time only 1 person inside that was rt behind me paying for her med. I said, 45 min. ? She said yes, we were swamped this morning. (It was after 12), I said, yeah, that's what you said last time when you refused to give me one. I also said, they should probably take down ALL those ( get your flu shot here) down ! I walked out, went to Walgreens, switch my whole families prescriptions over to them, got my flu shot & out in ten minutes! So I hope there wasn't any problems that would just happen to come up cvs switching my info! I don't know, maybe because it could be jus 2of them there! Oh by the way, @Walgreens, there really was only 2 young girls there! They were professional, nice & again I was out in 10 minutes a happy customer! Tired of horrible service, lissa & Robert Hayes

CVS pharmacist

I am complaining about the Isis/Al Qaeda head pharmacist in the Prosper, Texas store that has a serious customer service problem. I've had numerous problems with him concerning my medication refills. He also would not fill my epipen prescription because he said the script was a copy.. It was not! I will never shop at or fill my prescriptions at CVS again, too many rude foreigners working there, and most are incompetent and lack a complete understanding of customer service.

CVS 60% markup? really?

I will never buy another thing at CVS! I recently had to purchase (cash sale) Sotalol for my dog who has a congenital heart defect. I called around at the advice of my Vet. CVS was going to charge me $69.99 for 30 80mg pills. Okay, so let's give Walmart a shout just to compare...$4.00. Are you kidding me? I also called Walgreens and they are outrageous as well but not as bad. They were only $28.99. Mind you people, this is a generic drug. It's all about the bonus isn't it CVS?

I'd invite anyone reading this to Click on What's Wrong With You"'s name. Look at all his derisive nasty comments. This clown has been here every day for months clearly trying to make himself feel superior by putting other people down. Bully. And a closet late evening drunk would be my best guess. Likely a pervert too.

CVS shortage of pills on prescription

I picked up a prescription yesterday at the CVS #0921 in Shorewood, IL for 90 Dexilant tabs. Normally they come in a bottle that is 3.5 inches long x 1.5 in diameter. I picked up the package, went to my car and opened it and found that they had put them in a much smaller bottle about 3/4" in diameter and it was filled to the brim. I immediately counted the content and it only had 75 pills. These pills come from the manufacturer in a sealed bottle of 30 so there is no way that they accidently shorted me 15 pills because they have to open 3 of the bottles to fill my prescription. These pills cost over $8.00 per pill. I went back into the pharmacy and asked to talk to the pharmacist and explained they shorted me on my pills. He apologized and recounted them and said yes it was short 15 pills and refilled the pills in the larger bottle that they should have used in the first place. The last 2 times I have picked up my prescription they have also been overcharging my copay by $17.45. When I asked them each time they said that my primary insurance must not be paying as much as they previously were. I verified with my insurance carrier that I should only be paying $20, not $37.45 for my copay. Someone needs to keep an eye on this pharmacy because they are definitely trying to cheat the consumers.

Yes they are. This is one of the signs that someone in the Pharmacy is "side-selling" the drugs that you and your insurance are paying for. You need to immediately contact the SIU (Special Investigations Unit) for your insurance company and give them this information.

CVS scam. no delivery of order. I need refund

People, be careful and run from the company www.cvspharmacystore.com. I have ordered medications from them, but the order was marked as shipped. After that I didn’t get any information about the order and I wasted my time. This company has misled me and I don’t know how to get refund now. I simply didn’t get their contact details, but they avoided all my messages, which have been sent through the website.

CVS horrible experience

By sharing here some of what I shared with the company themselves. You will see why I dislike this pharmacy:
I use the CVS at 2929 State St in Santa Barbara. I use (controlled substance). I had been using 15 Mg daily. I filled that Rx as usual, and then went to the MD within the next week. The MD increased my dose to BID and gave me a new triplicate to bring to the pharmacy.
The pharmacist refused to fill it because I had recently filled the old Rx. I told him I did not know the dose would change, and after about 10 minutes of my refusing to accept no for an answer he told me to take my old Rx at BID and in 2 weeks when I ran out of pills he would fill my new triplicate. I did this, and then a month after the new Rx was filled, I called to say I had filled my midiset and was totally out of pills and needed a refill. I was told at that time that it was too soon I told them I had the empty bottle and that I had no pills left and told them repeatedly I use BID not daily and it should be due to refill. They refused and told me It was too soon and I must be holding the wrong Rx. I finally gave in thinking I must have the other bottle somewhere in my house.

Two weeks later I am filling my medisets and have NO (controlled substance). I search up and down the house before calling CVS and being told that my Rx could have been filled about 2 weeks ago. I was SO mad. I was left frightened I would go into withdrawal on the weekend, and I am taking the med as prescribed. Twice now CVS has left me scrambling to fill my Rx properly and now I am left in a situation where every other time I am filling my mediset I have to go to CVS THAT day or run out of drugs. I should be allowed to have 2 weeks extra medication in home to avoid this, as I have with ALL my other routine meds. I repeatedly offered to fill my old daily Rx once and pay out of pocket if insurance denies it, just to get caught up so I am not stuck in this situation, and each time the pharmacist has denied me.

You may argue that because this is a controlled substance the only error on your part is the one time the pharmacist said it was not due to refill, but I know you your company wanted to let me catch up on my medisets it could be done. I am not an addict or drug dealer, and I am only filling Rx's to take meds as prescribed by my MD whom I see regularly for monitoring and instruction.

I would not have used your pharmacy anyway, if your competitor was open after I left my MD office. Your company for years has been inconsistent with refills, and refill reminders, and often has contacted my MD for refills of PRN meds without my request for refills.

Much more serious is the following incident, in which I consider that I have saved both someone's life and your company from a lawsuit r/t the store at 2973 States Street. I am an RN, and once caught a mislabeled bottle of meds your pharmacist gave a costumer and intervened before they took it. This was a bottle of Aspirin 325 Mg tabs with an Rx label attached stating 'acetaminophen 325 Mg, take 2 tabs every four hours as needed for pain'. This was a person who is on a prescription blood thinner that interacts with aspirin causing severe inability to form blood clots, and taking your mislabeled drug would most likely have caused him to bleed to death, or at least suffer severe and life threatening harm.

CVS takes 4 to 6 months to handle my cliams

Ronald Savage /Empire plan [protected] the first claim i put into CVS they lost this was a month after they got the contract with Empire.I have to mention i live in the Philippines so after this incident which cost me 15usd to send it registered, they did agreed i could fax my claims which i thought would be great .I have sent in at least 4 claims by fax and it still takes 3 to 4 months to get a refund .I have over 20 emails back and forth with a care mark rep. they (the reps can not call paper claim to check on a claim they say they can only email them (so they say ) .Which means they have to wait till someone emails them back if they even do so weeks later i have to call at my expense only to find out they haven heard back from paper claims dept .Now am being pawned of on everyone in the customer care dept.they tell me to use a fax that doesnt work for international claim when i complain they give me a different fax # but tell me i cant check on if they will forward my claim or not so i asked are you kidding i was told wait a month or so and call us back again at my expense. So far they have lost my claim/// sent me a check with the wrong address on the check /// and send it twice to the wrong address of my home/// then they sent only half of my claim and i had to wait 2 more months to get the second half of my claim they lost .My claims are not complicated i only send in 1 or 2 claims that cost me the most out of pocket .i don't harass them with claims i know they don't pay or small amts but now it is very clear they are harassing me now by not doing my claims at all and sending all over their company .They claim they cant call or fax or email me updates .I have put up with their incompetent way of doing business for a year and a half now .i even asked if they would bank transfer my refund to a bank in the states, sorry we cant do that, call paper claims its been 3 months sorry we cant call them . I have tried to work with this company to simplify as best i can but its not working so this is my second step to resolve my issues for a company that cant call its own dept and has to resort to only emails in 2015

CVS co-pay charges higher than target for senior dimension patients

I normally used Target Pharmacy to fill my prescriptions but a new Physician e-mailed my prescriptions to CVS. At CVS I was told the fee for my Cyclobenzaprine NE HCL was $48.00, advised them I could not afford them. I took another prescription to CVS for Norco and was charged $18.00. At Target I got my Cyclobenzaprine NE HCL for $8.00 and my Norco for $8.00. Both Pharmacies are preferred by my Senior Dimension InsurancE. I spoke to a Pharmacy Tech at CVS about the large difference and she stammered that the co-pay can change daily, it depends on how much they are charged by the provider for the drugs. After working in the medical profession for over forty years I had never experienced a share of cost/co-pay that could change monthly for the same prescriptions. After recently hearing CVS has had some issues with overcharging I decided to inform you of my experience. As a retiree with limited resources $10.00 - $30.00 can make a big difference. This occurred in May - July 2015. I think a refund should be provided for all overcharges. The CVS I used was on Craig and Tenaya in Las Vegas, NV, the Target was on Tenaya and Cheyenne in Las Vegas, NV.

CVS price gouging

Please read all the way through. This might be a long post but the facts are important. CVS -Caremark is guilty of price gouging. This is especially true for those of us who do not have Prescription coverage. Look at these numbers. CVS charges $59.85 for 10 (ten) Buphenorphine 8 mg tablets. CVS charges $70.00 for a "Z-Pack". CVS charges $39.00 for 30 (thirty) Sertraline 100 mg tablets. I happened to receive a postcard from a new pharmacy that opened in my area. So I thought I would give them a call to check their prices. What I found out is astonishing...
First the Buphenorphine. CVS charged $59.85 for ten 8 mg tabs, new pharmacy charged $47.00 for 20 (TWENTY) 8 mg tabs! Twice as much for less money! Then the Z pack. I paid $70 for at CVS. New pharmacy charges $15! Then the Sertraline. I was paying $39 for 30 tablets from CVS. New pharmacy charges $6!

The owner of the new store assured me that he is making a profit. Of course he is! We expect him to, he is in business! He's still turning a profit but look at CVS and how they are taking such advantage of customers without insurance! Even those with insurance run into trouble! Last year they charged me $115 for an Rx for my mother who has MediCare. I asked are you sure you put it through the insurance? Yes, yes I'm sure. That is the co-pay because it is a Tier Three drug blah blah blah. My mom needed the medication, so I, of course, paid the money. Then I called Medicare about two weeks later to find out why the drug was so expensive. They told me the drug is covered with a $7 co-pay and that no claim was ever submitted for the last Rx that I paid for. Oh and by the way, just to be clear, It was NOT a Tier Three Medication. The CVS white coat was just making up BS to get me to pay him and shorten the line! I hate typing in all caps so pretend this is bold, OK? >> If you are a CVS customer with or without Rx Coverage I urge you to shop the Rx around!

You are right, the true definition of "price gouging" is raising a price following a sudden demand. Your suggestion that I shop elsewhere is well taken. In fact, it was the entire point of my original post. I have found much lower prices and no longer use CVS Pharmacy for my prescription needs. My point was to present actual evidence that the store is taking advantage of the high number of uninsured Americans. Maybe that's not "gouging" by dictionary definition, but it's surely an unfair practice born of corporate greed. Thank tou for your comment.

Businesses are entitled to set their prices however they wish. Consumers are entitled to purchase where ever they wish.

There is no "actual evidence" in your complaint beyond this basic concept of what a free market is.

CVS price gouging

I just posted this on their facebook page but doubt they will let the public see it. ""your people in shreveport are either crooks, idiots or lying, don't know which, but they have cheated my brother on these meds for two years! I have filed complaint with the lousiana board of pharmacy. "my brother has been using cvs on youree drive in shreveport for about two years, every month getting his script for losartan filled and paying $79. 02 each time. In december, for no particular reason he took his script to drug emporium, gave them all the same insurance information and they filled his script for $8. 43. Same script, same meds, same insurance. I called cvs and asked them about it. They said they "didn't have" his insurance on file. (I can assure you my brother did give him all his insurance info - they either didn't enter it, or entered it incorrectly) . So if you use this pharmacy, you might want to check around and see if you can get your meds cheaper somewhere else. It's hard for me to believe that a reputable company with any kind of mediocre staff would not be at least curious as to why an 85 year old man wasn't using insurance. Even the worst customer service would require them to at least ask about his insurance when month after month he got the same drugs there at this high price. But the people there were very rude when asked these questions. Just saying, you really have to look out for yourself these days. "

I have been filling my prescription at the CVS pharmacy in Rockville Centre, NY for several years. The price for a 30 day supply of 225 mg generic Effexor, (Venlafaxine) $ 250.00 has remained exactly the same during this period (4 years). The the manufacturer listed on the bottle is OSMOTICA. When I called to refill my prescription this month the pharmacist informed me that CVS no longer carried OSMOTICA (he told me OSMOTICA stopped making this medication) and as a result, they were dispensing the generic Effexor by a new manufacturer (UCB) and that the price for a 30 day supply of 225 mg Venlafaxine would cost now cost me $372.11. Excuse me? With no alternative at the moment I filled only 15 tablets. I got home and realized that the new pill is identical to the old - Same exact markings. I go online and learn that: July 1, 2015 WILMINGTON, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--October Osmotica Pharmaceutical Corp. is announcing that Venlafaxine Extended-Release Tablets, 37.5 mg, 75 mg, 150 mg, and 225 mg, which was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in May, is now commercially available through its marketing partner, Upstate Pharma, LLC, a subsidiary of UCB, Inc. Why did the pharmacist lie to me? I don't know, but I intend to get to the bottom of this outrageously blatant example of price gouging by CVS!

CVS sick and tired of being sick and tired of a pharmacist

I have recently ran into a problem with one of your employers. I feel as if this is a racial matter. I have not had an issue with anyone else on your staff. Unfortunately this gentleman goes out of his way at times to give me problems when it comes to filling my prescription. And the reasons he has shared with me make no since what so ever, for example . He says I'm the only person who can call my medicine in. Which is not true. He said my grandmother and wife are no longer allowed to call it in. He has made threats saying he will no longer fill my prescription and I will have to find another location, if I kept calling at my convince to get my prescription filled. So what do I do to solve this problem since I've been a loyal customer for over three and a half years with the same prescription, to solve this inconvenient situation. I've called asking to speak with a different manager he refuses, and to give his name . I've lost time from work, along with being reprimanded by my employers for simply trying to have my medication filled. Will somebody please help I really don't want to have to go back to Wallgreens. Thank you for taking the time to read.

Try an independent. I've worked at several chains, it's much the same not enough help and loads to do. At independents you can speak with the CEO! Most understand importance of customer loyalty and there are still some out there not playing the pricing game which many pharmacies follow walmart, sure you can get a cheap $4 but somebody is paying the difference and next antibiotic it may be you, a nice cost plus certain dollar amount comes out fair for both parties, cvs, Walgreens, Walmart, etc play that system heavily and force it on pharmacies through their PBMs. Just don't support it, and heck just maybe the CEO will show up and do business with you- think that will happen with cvs?

There pharmacists just don't care about any form of customer service. And that being nice. There is one old pharmacist in Millbrae, CA which is just a loser. He go out of his way to be rude to every one.
I just had enough and going to switch to Walgreens.

CVS Cutting hours to hard working pharmacists and their techs

The company has recently slashed the hours of the pharmacists and there techs at the store. This is what is wrong with corporate America today the economy is starting to bounce back the stores stocks are as high as ever. So what do they do they decide to take hours and money away from people that need it the most. The hard working pharmacist and tech who sometimes never get a chance to eat or take a break. cvs should be ashamed of itself and I as a consumer will probably never step inside the store again. Great job CVS. Take way from the people that make you the billions of dollars
