Price Shuffle review: Unauthorized Credit Card Charges 41

N
Author of the review

I found this site through a supposed "news" article on the internet and was lured in by the potential to try the site out with 100 free bids. I signed up for the account and was directed to a page to enter my credit card information. The web page is so fractured in appearance, that many portions of the site appear to be ads. I reviewed the box requesting my credit card information multiple times before submission to make sure I would not be charged a fee. The next morning, I discovered a charge for $149.75 on my bank statement. I immediately contacted the company via email, as instructed by the company's voicemail system, and requested a refund. I received a prompt email stating that the terms and conditions were "clearly stated" on their web page and that bids are nonrefundable. Since there have been so many complaints listed against them on websites such as this one, I sent a follow-up email contesting that their website was "clearly" labeled and, again, asked for a refund.

This is about Priceshuffle . I was browsing around and looked at this ad in the computer . I logged in and I thought by entering my card information, it does not mean that I will be charged right away . I only found out when I checked my card that there was a $149+ charged to me from them. I called up the phone number they listed in their site and found out it was a call center and advised me to write an email to the company instead. I did emailed them twice cancelling it but have not received any answer from them . So I thought this is definitely a grand rip off ! If it is an honest company a request for cancellation should have been honored.

If a class suit will be charged against them I will certainly join. This scam has to be stopped ! Spread the news ... Stick to eBay and amazon, they are legitimate companies!

I went to this site because of a newspaper article. They said you could sign up for a trial and get 100 bids for free. Nowhere did it show you would be charged. My debit card was hit immediately for $149.75. I immediately called the number provided and was told I would have to send an email. I have sent 4 emails requesting that they cancel my account and refund my money. They will not even reply.

Like many others, I am embarassed to say that I was lured into this site by a newspaper article touting this as a place where you could bid on high ticket merchandise and walk away with a real deal. The reality is that only a very small number of people have been succssful in dong that. I signed up thinking In was going to get 100 free bids to try the site out only to find that I had been charged $149 and now had 400 bids. I contacted their customer service immediately and was told that the terms were very clear and that I had authorized the charges. Well as you can see from the comments below, that is not the case. The selection of merchandise is very poor and in most cases, by the time you bid multiple times @.50 per bid, pay the winning auction bid amount and the the ridiculous shipping charges, you sometimes pay more than you can buy the item on other sites. The concept is like a casino...the bidding is a game and though there are some winners, there are many more losers. This is how they make their money, so BEWARE of this site!

step son used my credit card to purchase online bids without my consent and I dispute the charges and company claims that they have to right to charge me for what my step son (13 years old) did. this child charged other things and these companies have charged back to my account except http://priceshuffle.com/

Same thing happened to me that others here have been complaining about. When I emailed them to refund my money back with threats to take action they offered me half my money back and inticement with extra free bids. I have stood firm and want all my money back.
I intend to file a complaint with California's and Glendale City's Attorney General's and the relevant Police department about this scam.
Anyone who wants to join me in this can send me an email at kaltifk@yahoo.com.

All of this happened to me as well. I lost the money and got no response with my emails...
The company is a huge SCAM and I received nothing nor purchased nothing from them. Their deceptive practices TRICK people and then they keep the $149.75 and I'm now out of that money. PRICESHUFFLE is a SCAM and if they were a legitimate company they would refund money. I have turned them into the BBB and FTC, hopefully someone can stop them! Pieces of CRAP! Like I needed this !...Be careful and Beware!

I don't remember anything telling me I'd be charged $149.75. Just went back over my checking account and saw that was what the charge was; never used it. Ouch! Can't find them online to ask for the refund. Are they still in business?

I too was scammed by this due to the "free bids" offer. I contacted them asking for a refund. They refused, saying I agreed to the terms and conditions. I filed a dispute with my CC company - they credited my charges first and they just reversed the charges saying I 'agreed' to the terms & conditions. Nowhere on the sign up page did I see the price I'm paying for, and I have never had any issues with getting refunds from reputable companies. I will send this page's link to my credit card company to let them know others have been scammed and I'm not the only one.

I too got ripped of by their deceptive webpage.
They took $149.75, and my bank received "proof" of the transaction from priceshuffle.com, so they won't help me!
Calling their customer service is a joke. They just repeat their terms of agreement "no refunds"

Call them. Say you will go to your bank and dispute the charge. They will offer bids or a refund that is not a full refund.; Say no thank you I will go to my bank or credit card comp.

Tell them you have screen shot of the page (the price was not there) If they ask you to send it in say no. If you want I can email you the screen shots.

I got a full refund in one day. I spoke to Eli.

I had used half my bids. Then when you get a refund report to FTC.

This is a scam.

I got my money back, hope you can get yours. If you do this you will 100%

PASS IT ON.

Call priceshuffle.com Number is on the site at the bottom where it says contact us. ASK FOR ELI. The phone lady said no refund. I said dispute and ELI issued a refund. Get your money from these crooks. They will go to hell...I just hope God punishes them and not their families. You reap what you sow people...I hope the few bucks is worth it.

Tell them you want a full refund. No matter what they say, even if they offer a partial refund, say no thanks..."I will call my bank and dispute this...then I email the FTC and the attorney general for CA and your state. Also tell them that you will be posting all of this online. Tell them your call is being recorded as well, as you will be looking into a pending class action law suit.

They will issue a full refund trust me, they issued a full refund for me and I received it in 3 days. They will ALWAYS issue a refund if they think you will dispute the charge. This site is a scam. Do not take anything less than a full refund, if not dispute it and tell your bank that the charges were not on the site and the button to agree to the terms was pre-checked. So in fact you did not agree to anything. This happened to me. DISPUTE FTC ATTORNEY GENERAL and if they do not refund CONTACT THE GLENDALE, CA POLICE DEPARTMENT and ask to speak to a DETECTIVE.

EVEN THOUGH THEY REFUND THEY ARE CON ARTISTS THAT PAY UP WHEN THEY MEET SOMEONE SMART ENOUGH TO CALL THEM ON THEIR CON.

THESE PEOPLE SHOULD BE IN FEDERAL PRISON. CONTACT FTC AND ATT GEN...I am doing so at a rate of 3 letters a day, and I will keep doing this for years. Stay tuned because I will have their REAL ADDRESS Soon. I know they are in Glendale, CA

I wish I had looked up this complaint page before I signed up. I fell for it hook, line and sinker. I could not understand how I ended up with 400 bids after the promo code said I was only getting 100. I went to the page for purchasing bids and got my answer when I saw that the cost for 300 bids is $149.75. I immediately went to check my bank account online and there it was big as day. I swear an image of a donkey appeared on my face at that moment. I like others on here reviewed the sign up page where it asks for credit card onfo and did not see and indication that I was about to be charged. I may have puchased the $25 dollar bid package had I been given the choice, but I just did not have an extra $150 to just throw away. It never occured to me to read the terms and conditions. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR PRICESHUFFLE.COM IT IS A SCAM. I just hope that maybe just maybe I can get a refund, but I'm not going to count on it. I now have to go to a check advance place just to be able to get gas this week (another scam if you ask me).

I am disgusted with this company as well. I ordered to rings from them, and received the wrong merchandise. I returned the package to them and had to pay additional shipping costs, and now they are refusing to refund my credit card. BEWARE this company is a scam http://www.coachoutlets.cc/. I have filed a complaint with econsumer.gov and the Better Business Bureau.

I've had the same problem...I gave my credit card info for the 100 "free bids, ' and ended up charged $149.75. I was told too bad I should have read the disclaimers. I've been buying via internet since you could buy over the net and have never encountered a legitimate web site that didn't give you a FINAL OK over a purchase. I tried to bid on an I Pad and the bidding went on for several days. After you had add their handling and shipping charges along with the bid price you could have bought the Ipad from a retailer for about the same! What a ripoff! If contacting my Attorney General's consumer scam program and filing on these no goods!

I to have been scammed. I was also led to believe that I was signing up for 100 free bids. I was just looking around the site. I never bid on anything because then I learned how it worked and believe that anyone (including the company) could just bid at the last second and then the auction time would increase again. I have contacted my CC company to dispute the charge. Not sure what will come about it. But if that does not work, then I will email them.

I, too, am a victim. Same story. Once the charge was discovered on my credit card, I immediately complained via their online communication box, then I called the number provided and spoke with a very sassy woman who told me that everything had been disclosed at the time I signed up. (Oh, yeah?) She told me to e-mail my complaint, which I did, and have had several e-mail communications with them. They have offered me 100 additional 'free' bids and a $75.00 refund, which I feel is inadequate. I want a full refund. I used 35 'free' bids before finding the charge on my account. I told them to keep the 65 bids left of the original 100 'free' bids and refund my money in full. MSN must also be notified of our complaints, as they are advertising these guys. This has to come to an end.

Do not do anything over the phone, DO NOT use any of the bids. Collect all the e-mails you interchange and make perfectly clear to them that you will follow through with all the legal options at your disposal. Don't hire a lawyer 'cause he's gonna be a bigger rip-off than what you are trying to get back. Here's some contacts you may threaten to use and SHOULD use if you don't get complete satisfaction (full refund like I did ). Your State's Attorney General Office- Cyber Fraud Task Force, Internet Crime Complaint Center IC3 (organization in partnership with the FBI) National White Collar Crime Center (NWC3). Complaints can be filed online at http://wwwic3.gov, Federal Trade Commision. Look up Priceshuffle Complaints (or whatever is the name of the thieves outfit) in Google and make copies of the posted pages (for your bank and the other entities ) make them aware of all the tools you have at your disposition and let them know without a doubt that you will use them, particularly the State Attorney's Office where they may be located. I gave them 24 hours to comply with my full refund request last night, and got a full refund this morning. Good luck, and God Bless you. Signed: Another Sucker

I had exactly the same experience. Their definition of "clearly stated" is exceptionally generous. The sign up box is huge on the right and takes up most of the page, step 2 is the same way - but very small on the right is the drop down where you buy bids - VERY easy to miss. And I never got a pop up box reiterating I would be charged, I was very much under the impression the 100 free bids promotion was just that - as the news story I read stated.
When I contacted support they replied in about 5 hours and credited my credit card and sent a copy of the receipt. I suspect this is in large part because this happens a lot and they know they are in the wrong and will lose any fights over it.
It's ashame too because it's entirely possible they are legit and you can get a good deal on some merchandise but their misleading practices are crap.

I also signed up for this and was immediately notified by the company through an email that there was a charge of $149.75. I immediately called priceshuffle and asked for my account to be cancelled and the charge reversed and was instructed to send an email which I have done. It is sunday and I just want my account cancelled and money back. No where on the site during the registration process does it tell you about a cost of the registration. it does show on the page the bids are 50cents each but nowhere does it say you have to buy anything at this time. I checked my card and i do have a pending charge at this time. I just hope this company is willing to do what is right on monday and credit my account back the money that was taken and cancel my account. This will tell if this is truly a scam or a legitimate company. The bid system could be useful for some people but I am not willing to spend $147 dollars in the hopes of getting a deal.

I have found sooooo many people on the internet that this has happened. And I am sure like most people, can not afford to go 24 hrs without this $149.75. This charge has left me with $8. Same exact thing just happened to me. It is completely misleading. You register by putting your name on the first page and then it takes you the the next page where you put in your shipping and billing info. Then you put in the Promo code to get 100 bonus bids. Then when you click to the next page you get a page that says you have 400 bids in your account and you are wondering how that happened. Why isnt there an intermediate page that says "you are about to purchase 300 bids - click here to confirm" like every other legitimate website out there? I too sent an email at the suggestion of the customer service person who took my phone call. Call me a skeptic, but I do not think I will get the answer I am looking for and will end up having to dispute with my CC company. Next step is the BBB. Put these guys out of business.

I too signed up for the 100 free bids, and stupidly put in my card because I thought you had to for when you actually bid on something, plus the article was misleading in portraying the reporter as trying out the site with their "free" bids. I immediately called ishuffle and requested a refund, but hey told me they would cancel my account, but I have to send an email to the billing department to request a refund. I hope they will do it right away! Asked my bank, but hey said they could not do anything about it! Very misleading!
