My husand and I purchased a home here in Dallas in March of 2007. We had a 2 year prepayment penalty not knowing we did. My husband got a transfer back to the state where we moved from. He had to take the job financially. There was no way we could afford the home in Texas and rent a place in the area we moved to. Our home closed on the 28th of July 2008. We had a pre-payment penalty of over $11, 000 and had to pay over $4000 in interest. I just think that having to move to another state because of a job transfer you should not be penalized so severly. No wonder people walk away from homes all over the US. I have tried numerous time to get the fee reduced but of course you can not speak to anyone there you have to fax them a letter. I have tried numerous times through out the day and their fax must not be working. Does anyone have a suggestion?
