customer service
I have been so entirely frustrated with PODS and especially with the inability to speak to a local representative who is in Milpitas, California, but I cannot get a phone or email to contact them. They refused to set a pick up date for the units and so I am disputing current and future charges with my credit card provider. Have spent hours...literally...on hold, transferring from one person to another, being disconnected, calling back, etc. Wrote the following to CEO, John Koch.

Hello John,
My name is Doug Andrews and I would appreciate your help. My account number is [protected]. I rented two PODS units in August 2016. They were to be relocated at the end of October but there had been some early rain and the driver could not move them. Three other attempts were made but unsuccessful due to wet ground. Two other options were offered for removing the units but PODS reps have failed to return my calls, moved me from one operator to another or put me on hold for hours (no exageration). I finally hired a moving company to empty the units and we moved into a new home on November 7. The owner of the property where the PODS are located has also called your customer service hotline but been promised pickups that never happened. I have no way of contacting the local rep in Milpitas, Califorina and he has failed to call me for many weeks despite a promise that he would do so. I cancelled auto charges to my credit card at the beginning of December. Without an effort on your company's part to resolve this relatively simple issue, I really am at a loss for what to do. Please help resolve this issue.
Thanks,
Douglas Andrews,

Absolutely frustrated with PODS
can not get pods to remove there unit from my property
Pods has lied to me for the removal of there unit from my property from 10/25/2016 thru 10/27/2016. There customer service dept. has told me nothing but lies concerning the removal of there unit from my property. First I was told that it would be removed on 10/25/5016 and that did not happen then the customer service told me the unit would be removed on 10/27/2016 and that was a lie. the unit is still on my property and I have no idea when it will be removed.
refused delivery
After taking my pod and telling me they can deliver anywhere in western oregon they refused to deliver saying Cannon Beach was not in thier delivery area - now they have my stuff and I have to pay 2000 to get it unloaded onto a truck Customer service just doesnt care - they are too big and dont care - the corporate culture is there are more customers to replace you Its extortion Steve Schulz
pods it my car
PODS dropped of a pod on our narrow Portland Oregon streets for my new neighbor when he moved in. When the picked up the pod they obviously had issues with the narrow streets proceeding to tear up the neighbors yard and backing into my car (fairly nice sports car) in the process. Filed with insurance company and PODS sending each pictures and info as well as filed a police report. PODS said they would respond within 48 hours of the claim. Two weeks and nothing. Insurance company told me PODS was giving them the run around and making communications impossible. After almost four weeks I let them know they needed to resolve this now or I would file in small claims, contact the press, and escalate my police report on the hit and run incident. They were hostile and did not seem to care. Looks like the individual loses to the business again. Fun. I get to do all the work to file papers in court and such. I wonder if they will even show up?

Absolutely frustrated with PODS
I received a quote from pakrat that was lower than pods, but pods decided to match what pakrat quoted. My things have been stored for 2 months now and pods has lost the quote they sent me. They asked that i call them back and i've now been on hold for over 20 minutes! This company is unorganized and their customer service is awful! Do not use this company for storage and a move!
After ordering a container a month in advance they canceled 4 hrs. before delivery. This was at the end of the month on Thanksgiving weekend for our 2000 mile relocation. Also upon deeper review of the contract I found many discrepancies in their billing. I would never recommend them. NEVER EVER.
Just got a quote from PODs ...their price was almost double that of the full-service movers! On top of that, their customer service rep was rude. No thanks!
If you or someone you no is going to move DONT USE PODS. they are the worst thing on earth. they sent two pricing quotes. the first was 2000 dollars, the second 6000 then the bill was 6983 never been so insulted ever!
PODS made unauthorized charges to our credit card. They refunded part of the money, but still owe us 727.92 after two weeks. Luckily this has not yet caused us an overdraft.
Repeated phone and email contact has gotten no reply. No one from PODS has contacted us.
Be careful giving your debit/credit card to PODS!
After trying 2x to obtain a quote with phone rep, I gave up in complete disgust.
Double Talk, can't provide what I requested, absolute ###s!
I went to "PACK RAT" and obtained the right solution for my move with NO BS>
I was quoted a price for my move and the representative stated I could change to the local rate when my pod arrived to my location. The next representative and manager stated that was not valid and asked if i was confused. I know what I heard from the representative.
I have been dealing with pod issues since receiving my credit card statement with of course the wrong amount charged. I too have a written quote that was emailed to me prior to me contracting their service. They have since been charging me between $109.95-$121.95 more per month for storage than my written quote. I have spent over 5 hours in phone calls and emails trying to get this resolved. This company could care less if i am an unsatisfied customer. I have gotten nothing but the run around. I have been told i would get credits for all months (3 so far) on my last credit card billing. Got my statement yesterday, and nothing. I call and they say that i did receive the credits... Called my credit card company, nope absolutely no credits on the account at all. I was told this morning that i would only receive a credit of $50, and only for the last two billings? What is wrong with this company? I would strongly not recommend this company to anyone!

pricing
Do not use PODS they will take money unauthorized from your bank account. They are unethical. They took an extra 120 and called it insurance? They did not deliver on their services and kept changing prices. The quote they send you in email will not be what you pay. They sent me email after email saying one price and then when they had my credit card they charged me more. Do not trust, this is a bad business practice.

delivery - pod setting
Ordered a POD to store one room of furniture. Property incurred water damage due to broken water line. I wanted to temporarily store my furniture in a container while the damage was repaired. Ordered the unit on-line. It was delivered on the day promised. However, it was dropped with the loading door facing the rear of the property against a fence. There is no way to load the pod with the loading door against a fence. I called pods asking them to flip the container so the door faces the driveway and street so it can be loaded. They were emphatic that the pod was set correctly and if I wanted it flipped it would cost an additional $200 and they couldn't do it for another 3 days. I had loading crews scheduled for the morning, mold remediation company scheduled for the afternoon. Restoration and plumbing contractors scheduled for the next few days. Bottom line is they didn't care that they cost me thousands of dollars. Ruined my schedule and the schedule of all the contractors that were scheduled to remediate the water problem. Mold continues to grow in my house and the just don't care. But, they still want their $200.
I will never do business with this company again.

poor costumer service/ inflexible policies
After paying PODS to house my articles since October 2011 for $270 a month, I discovered the company will has no policy (in fact the rep- Jason seemed to relish informing me) that they would charge me an entire additional month rent on top of the $107 drop off and pick up charge although because I was asking for delivery the day account would be billed. I indicated that since PODS has made in excess of $5, 400, they might create a policy which allows flexibility in the last payment if it is within a certain timeframe. Jason indicated I was moving somewhere where that flexibility was not applicable. I hadn't realized there was discrimination based on geographical location. Then, after indicating I would let them store my stuff until I ran out the full month of May and part of June, I asked for a confirmation of delivery and was told by Jason that this massive company which can produce confirmation information for payments, doesn't produce confirmations for delivery dates. You just have to check the website. I found the rep, Jason, easily irritated with my questions. I find the policy of inflexibility about delivery dates and costs to be a bad business policy. I find the fact that their system, which can produce confirmations for payments and contracts but now for drop off and deliveries, incredulous in today's society. And nor could the rep., Jason send me an e-mail to confirm he and I even had this conversation. Just check the website, were the only instructions he would give. DON'T believe the hype. The hassle of getting your articles back isn't worth the bad business decisions and arrogant company reps. I don't even know what condition my articles will be in when I get them back. Support businesses with costumer oriented business practices-leave PODS alone.

delivery of goods
I will never use PODS again! We negotiated to have our household goods moved from Florida to Arizoa thinking, yes it's a little more expensive than doing it ourselves, but they will get it to us safe and sound. Someone forgot to mention to PODS that getting it to you on the date they said they would was paramount to the consumer! They delivered it to us to load in Florida on time, they took it away on time, and they CERTAINLY drained our bank account of the money to pay for their services on their schedule. But when they e-mailed me 2 days before they were to deliver saying they'd be a week later delivering than contracted, it threw us into a tailspin. NOTHING for our rental homefor a week? Not even a towel to bathe with or bed to sleep on? I don't think so! And then when we found out our stuff was going to only be 35 miles away the day it was supposed to be delivered, we called the dispatcher there to tell her we'd be driving there in a U-Haul to get our stuff ourselves. Luckily this dispatcher was on the ball and realized that PODS had done us wrong and found our stuff and delivered it to us one day late. One day late we could live with! PODS customer service offered us $75.00 restitution for our troubles which we politely declined as they want you to sign a privacy release to not mention their 'generosity' or talk about the PODS problem or restitution. Not! EVERYONE needs to know that PODS takes your money, then fails to deliver when they say they will. Even my letter to the CEO went unanswered -- just another call from Customer Service admitting there might have been some 'discrepancies' and they apologize for the inconvenience. Put the apology in writing PODS! THAT is all most folks want.
It sound like a mistake and one that was rectified by the dispatcher as quickly as possible. So why do you feel that PODS did you so wrong? Maybe you are over reacting and acting like a child, ever consider that? How often do you find yourself complaining about others? Calm don and understand that things happen, PODS doesn't like problems and we all understand you don't either. ### on the internet about something like this is really childish. I would have taken the $75 because I'm not stupid.
pods - this company sucks and employees are unprofessional
I got a response from a a lady named [protected]@podssocial.com to send details of my account and then I did follow up with this lady after a month and she assured that she is going to talk with her executive resolution team to resolve my issues with pods. After few days I got an e-mail from pods saying they will not do anything so I believe this lady is completely scam with no value for her words. Sending e-mails to her is completely waste of time and the result of my communication with pods was waste of my four months and my case is still hanging in dark.
hijacked my stuff
I called to get my stuff delivered. I live 60 miles from where the POD is stored but they want to charge me $720 to deliver my stuff. They are holding my stuff for ransom! The issue, as they explained it to me, is that I live in a territory served by a different franchisee than the one where the POD is stored. So to move the container they have to transport it to the other franchisee ($$), charge me one month's rent!, and then charge a delivery fee. Why can't the franchisee who has my stuff deliver it? I have no idea. Corporate says they have no control over what the franchise owners do. That is complete BS. I don't believe it for a second.

beware of weight limit
Beware of the new interstate agreement form they ask you to approve. It has recently been changed to specify a maximum weight in ANY of the container sizes you rent. Here is the revised text: the maximum weight of Tenant’s property shall not exceed 4, 400 pounds contained in either the Lessor’s sixteen-foot (16’) Container(s), twelve-foot (12’...

Ok so I have been sitting in my living room in Florida on lawn chairs for the past five days. Why you ask well this wonderful company PODS seems to be unreliable. For the past six months I have had all my worldly belongings in storage win PODS while I make my transition from Massachusetts to Florida. Of course I had made PODS aware of our move date and they assured me that everything would be delivered on time. Well this was just not the case today I received half of my belongings nearly a week late. It gets better a broken TV and mouse droppings in the new couch oh what a wonderful service. Then try to call this dog and pony show for anything besides a monetary gain on their end and well let’s just say good luck. I’ll give it to them the company is a great idea but perhaps they should re-invest some of that money in customer service.

damage
When PODS delivered my unit i opened it to find everything had been flipped and damaged. I made over 10 calls to Corporate and.that many more to the local idiot who ran the location. They did nothing to fix the damage. The commercial does not show what happens to your unit once it arrives to there warehouse. It is moved by unskilled forklift drivers throughout there facility. Ever see forklift drivers with an unbalanced load?

dont use them
Dont do it, If you want to store somthing in your driveway or just move from drive way to driveway it might be OK but do not expect them to deliver as promised (1 weeks notice) in your second location.
We asked upfront for our POD to be delivered to a pemanent storage space. Knowing that the pod cannot be left on site as it would block other peoples storage we arranged to pay for demirage for 2 hours while we unload it. The local PODS yard is 2 hours away from this storage space. When we went to have it delivered we made the big call only to find out that they wanted 2 weeks notice (not 1) and the driver would not wait. He was going to deliver the Pod and leave it onsite for 2 weeks. After over 20 calls we are being told that there is nothing they can do. Not even on a date that they choose. It is what it is. So now it looks like we are going to have to pay our storage space folks money to store the pod while we wait for the Pods people to come back and pick it up

don't use them
Moving from Virginia to Colorado, hired PODS to store and move. We followed through with our contract paying monthly for storage on time. When came time to deliver POD set it up for Fri April 9th they told us someone called in sick had no idea when our POD would be delivered. Now we feel our POD is being held HOSTAGE. We are in an empty house for the last two nights with an 8 yr and 10 month old on the floor. Had already gave up hotel. We have had the run around for the last two days and still do not have our POD delivered! Of course they all can't help and doing the best they can, it's BULL CRAP! NEVER USE THEM.
don't even bother calling
First I went online to get an estimate. Pretty easy for Uhaul and other moving companies. PODS site said I had to call so I did.
I got the big sales pitch about how great PODS is and she wouldn't answer my questions. I asked her very politely I might ad to please stop the sales pitch and just give me an estimate and she continued with the sales pitch as if she had to read it from a card. I finally got an estimate. I told her I could not afford it but thank you. She got rude and started grilling me about how else was I going to move that far, who else gave me estimates, etc. I asked her to remove my name and phone number from their database and I did not want telemarketing calls or for my info to get into others hands. Through all this she continued to interrupt. I said thank you and goodbye and as I hung up I heard her continuing to talk. The whole experience was absurd.
paid 3x my quote
Pods sounded like a great idea. It was cheap, the delivery was even on time (I feel so lucky). My problem was that they quoted me around $400 for delivery and 8 months of storage while I was out of the country on a foreign exchange. Then I started getting monthly bills, and I just figured I was paying it off in payments, but when I called them to double check, oh no, I was getting a $194 dollar bill every single month. So that is close to $1600 in storage fees. Completely not worth it. When I called to ask them why I was paying more then they quoted me, the rep. Said, "oh that happens to a lot of people when they sign up online, they just get confused. "
I still have 6 months till I get back to my furniture inside my pod. Lets hope it's not all completely destroyed like the other reviews indicate.
more helpful to say state(s) involved because different laws apply
bait and switch!
I reserved on the web site for a Pod to be delivered and to store my personal belongings for three months. That is what I signed up for, but not what I got. Everything was kosher until Pods billed me $244 for a second month. I called and they pull out some "addendum" that I must have clicked through stating that I would be charged monthly. I looked at the final page of the reservation. I did a screen capture because I did it on my iPad (and can't directly print from it). There is no mention of a recurring charge on the screen capture. Now after the fact they are adding on this addendum. Then they have the audacity to tell me NO one complains about their deceptive practices. They ever hear of the work Google? I have found hundreds of complaints. The company is based on lies and deception and hidden charges. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!
misinformation about services
I chose Pods because I didn't want to pack and unpack a moving truck for each part of the move. I was told that Pods would deliver the container when I moved to my new location even if it wasn't in their service area. Now, I'm ready for delivery and they don't deliver to my area. In fact, they told me to get a moving truck and pick up my stuff in Ottawa. My delivery area is just over an hour from Ottawa off the 401. They say they don't deliver all over. Setting up delivery has been very problematic and has taken several attempts. All calls go through a central answering service and are routed depending on the country. Then, they call the Pods location and relay messages to the customer. In my situation, they weren't able to reach anyone at the location on several attempts and left messages for them to call, which they didn't do. I've called again and was basically told too bad, get a truck. Then, was disconnected when I tried to book a pick-up time. Their ads and website say they deliver across North America. They don't and won't tell you that they won't get the Pod to you when it's time to deliver. I did ask, when I first called and was told they would get a common carrier if they didn't deliver to my area.

overcharged
I decided to go with PODS to move back east from San Diego instead of using the Upack trailer service that we used for the move to SD 4 years earlier. PODS was $100 more expensive, but the senior sales rep out of SD, Mark Carpenter, promised me 2 months of storage would be built into my total cost instead of the usual 1 month. The dropoff/pickup in SD was fine and on schedule, as was the delivery of our stuff. My problem came when they automatically charged my CC an additional $200.44 for a month of storage that was supposed to be included in our original cost. I called Mark and left voicemails first, with no return call. Then I called cuts service and cuts satisfaction departments. They refused to help and got snippy with me saying I already got a "great price." they finally deferred me to their "supervisor" to call me back. That turned out to be good old Mark Carpenter. When he finally called me back 2 weeks later, I had to refresh him on our detailed phone conversation after he asked, "who told you that you would get 2 months of storage." I calmly said, "You did, " before continuing with the details. He seemed to recall and said he'll take care of it. Now, 2 months later and many voicemails left, I've initiated a credit card dispute and reports to their corporate office and the BBB. This is such a scam and after reading other stories, it seems they will tell you anything to get your business. Do yourselves a favor and use one of the partial trailer Upack services. No hassles and one legit price!
