On 17 July I mistakenly overdrew my account due to an error in calculations. This was a mistake on my part and I immediately deposited funds into my account once I discovered my error, and brought the account up to date a day later. I subsequently contacted PNC and admitted my error, requesting that they refund all or some of the over $180 they had charged me in fees. Aside from the fact that the fees were so high, my experience with banks is that they refund such fees if the account is brought up to date and if overdrawing funds is not habitual. However, PNC refused to do this, even though I have banked with them for well over two years and have been in good standing. I understand that I made a mistake and who doesn't? Under the circumstances I expected PNC to show understanding and provide concessions to me as a customer, but they didn't. This is despite all the money they make off of us--the customers. Instead, they gave me the run around and provided me with numbers that connected me to representatives that gave me the same response: NO!! I am leaving this bank and encouraging as many friends and family members to do so. I understand the need for banks to make money, but I also understand the need for them to be human! Before you consider opening an account with this bank, please do your research. Many other banks are sensitive to human error and will afford you the type of concessions that PNC denied me.

They did the same thing to me...one overdraft turned into almost 200.00 in fees - instead of returning the larger check of 225.00 (which my husband wrote and forgot to record) and charging the one fee of 31.00, they paid it and charged me for 6 petty withdrawals from my debit card at $31.00 a pop - when I called they informed me that it was their policy to pay the larger amount first - how profitable for them! When was I informed of this policy??? They are getting away with robbery - I would have rather they returned the check and charged me the one fee. They acted like they were doing me a favor.
