PNC Financial Services Group questionsable if not fraudulent behavior of staff

This complaint is really against Gary Deutsch PNC Senior Consul,

From my dealing with him, he will fail to understand simple facts and manipulate events at the branch level about staff who handle money and customer details.

This really leads to very questionable ethical standards of practice at PNC’s head office.

These allegations are not rumors but documented as well

PNC Financial Services Group loss claim

I submitted the proper forms and documents for my loss claim insurance check made out to me and PNC. Now 4 weeks later and their still holding my funds which is preventing me from rebuilding my home after hurricane Isaac. I've contacted them every week and all I get is "it's under review" also a big attitude from customer service. I ask to be transferred to the loss claim dept. and was told they don't take calls. I would recommend consumers stay away from PNC. My families home was flooded, I move to another town, I've work through FEMA and my insurance company. That was nothing compared to pain dealing with PNC!

Same story, different storm. I have over $26, 000 in PNC's hands after Hurricane Sandy. I have submitted everything and paid for the renovations out of pocket. They were supposed to overnight the check last week after I called the President of PNC Financials office but they couldn't even do that right. They "accidentally" mailed the check through the post office. Six days later, no check. And guess what? Surprise! The 1st came and I did not pay the mortgage. And won't until I get my insurance damage money. The insurance company was a dream. PNC, a nightmare.

PNC Financial Services Group employees & culture

My wife is an employee of PNC Bank employed as a Business Banker based out of the Prattville Branch in Alabama. Her supervisor is Les Pasternack in Birmingham. I tried to contact Mr. Pasternack but to no avail since he seems oblivious to these activities and while perhaps not condoning them has allowed them to take place.

We recently located to Prattville, Alabama as part of a corporate relocation and job transfer. My wife and I were both excited to be in Prattville and have her start this new job. Over the course of this time things have significantly deteriorated and unfortunately it does involved the bank and its resources.

Since relocating to Prattville, my wife has used her job as a Business Banker and her status to conduct multiple extra-martial affairs with multiple men in Montgomery and Birmingham.

She has promoted her flexible schedule and the fact that she sets her own appointments throughout the day and has PNC-related business travel as a means to conduct these affairs. She has met men in both Birmingham and Montgomery and taken time out of the work day to conduct these affairs.

On October 1, she used PNC business travel to Birmingham to meet one Scott Cooper and stayed at a different hotel away from the PNC Regional Headquarters in order to avoid being spotted by her co-workers while conducting these activities.

On October 4, she took time out of the work day to meet one “catman” (actual name unknown) at Panera Bread near the Taylor Road Branch in Montgomery, Alabama.

On October 11, she took approximately 4 hours out of the work day to drive to Alabaster, Alabama to again meet one Scott Cooper for lunch and then a rendezvous in the parking lot. She has no business whatsoever in Alabaster and given her busy schedule I doubt PNC Bank policy allow for employees to take time out of the work day to conduct extra-martial affairs.

On October 19, she had scheduled another meeting to again travel to Birmingham during the workday to take time out her workday schedule to meet Scott Cooper to conduct these activities. There is more but I think you get the idea.

This is all documented in black and white on over 25 printed pages of online chat conversations, emails, etc.

Personally I have had a relationship with PNC Bank going back to National City Bank in 1987. Sadly, PNC has not valued my business and my multiple personal and business accounts and I am in the process of moving all my accounts to another bank for safekeeping because she is now also using her status, inside knowledge and employee access to PNC bank accounts to conduct unauthorized activities including transactions on my various business and personal accounts. I regret I am going to have to terminate my longstanding relationship with PNC Bank.

However, more importantly this is not the PNC Bank professionalism I was accustomed to before moving to Prattville. Apparently the culture in this region is such that is allows this activity to take place. Before being exposed she also identified to my multiple PNC Bank employees in these region who are also having extra-marital affairs with each other inside the PNC family. Seems some general housekeeping is in order down there and for the sake of posterity, I do hope this take place.

PNC Financial Services Group embezzled money

Had a teller maching at this location tell me it could not process a fast cash withdrawl, it spit my card out and then spit out a withdrawl slip. Never gave me any money. I called the bank to ask if they could do anything about it. At least, do an investigation. What I got was news to me, THEY DO NOT MANAGE THEIR OWN TELLER MACHINES. IT'S SOMEONE ESLE. I was told that I could fill out a form, and if they found some money they would credit my account. The Branch has lousy customer service and I will be pulling all my money from the bank ASAP. I work in IT, and know that a Teller machine programed to give a CAN NOT PROCESS YOUR TRANSACTION message then deducts cash from your account(Without Dispensing any Cash) has been set up to commit FRAUD. The machine should not do two things at once, and the only other excuse is INCOMPETENCY.

I know I will never see my lost cash. Due to this situation and calling PNC bank to ask for help really just got me someone that had a nasty attitude.

Sincerely.

PNC Financial Services Group pnc bank tried to rip me off

This whole issue started feb.17th.i never received items i ordered through the mail.i called pnc bank about it, and they said no problem.they gave me the money back, and i had to sign papers when i received them.

april came, and still no papers.i called tem to tell them.they said they'd send them.in the meantime - i wrote a letter to them explaining everything that happened so they could get their money.

finally in may i received the affadavit.i signed them, and sent them another letter in full detail of all the information they needed to investigate.

to this day, pnc bank says i owe them money.i did everyhting i was supposed to do.they're suppose to investigate, and they're not.i refuse to pay things i never received.i don't want a lawyer, or anything.i just want to tell people that pnc bank isn't trustworthy.i've done banking with them for 12 years with no problem.this is the first problem i have -and this is how they treat me.

PNC Financial Services Group mortgage refinance - no ethics

I had a mortgage with PNC for 7 years. I never missed a payment and my credit is excellent. I have been trying to refinance with them into a 15 years mortgage for the past three months. They are now offering me a refinance rate of 4% while other lenders are offering me as low as 2.75% refinance rate. Additionally, PNC themselves are offering me 2.75% for a 15 years new purchase mortgage rate. When I asked PNC why the huge difference in rates between their purchase rate and refinance rate, there response was that they artificially inflate the refinance rates due to the large volume of refinance applications, which even if true, is unethical and unprofessional

Meanwhile, I think that the real reason PNC is offering me this inflated refinance rate is because they know that that I can’t leave PNC for another mortgage Leander because PNC unlike all mortgage lenders or banks keeps refusing to release my SEMA. As a result, if I refinance with another lender, I would have to pay an additional $8, 000.00 in closing cost, which makes my refinance not cost effective. Though, while I watch everyone that I know take advantage of the low mortgage refinance rates, I being denied this right and I am being held hostage to PNC’s unfair, unethical, and devious practices.

PNC Financial Services Group assistance

After being out of work for two years, I fell behind on my mortgage and have been trying unsuccessfully to find any assistance from you. In the past year I have spoken to at least 15 people in customer service to assist me in payment options. There is no follow through to assist me with my problem. Obviously you are more concerned with making money off me as you rack late payments up and give me no chance of getting caught up.
I received yet another letter today stating my assistance request was denied due to me not returning a Borrower Response Package. I NEVER RECEIVE THEM EVEN THOUGH I AM TOLD BY THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON TO WHOM I SPEAK SAYS THEY WILL SEND THEM OUT. This has happened the last seven call I made. I have been given a name and phone number for my representative in lost litigation. I have called four time this last week and heard nothing back from her. This is unacceptable, and I wish to speak with someone at the executive level to get things moving.
My next phone call will be to the Better Business bureau and to my states Attorney General.

I have been fighting with PNC for 10 months. we have filed 4 loss mitigation packages the last one filled out by a HUD counselor. Each time they would wait to the last possible minute to notify us there was something else needed! We had to start over and re file each time! After this 4th time of them rejecting us I filed a complaint with the states attorney general office and told PNC as much. Then they decided to review our application. But we were getting very close to foreclosure sale date and still no answer from them, despite my calling them every other day and talking to about 15 different people. I couldn't get an answer from them. I finally had to seek help from a bankruptcy attorney. PNC told me they would have a decision before the sale date or postpone the date. They did neither, I had to file bankruptcy by 2:00 pst to prevent foreclosure sale. The most frustrating thing is that we really didn't need to file. We had very good credit until my husband lost his job we just couldn't make the full mortgage payment! We were never late on any other payments and weren't over extended. My husband just recently got back to work and all we wanted from PNC was a loan modification! All we got is the run around from them! I wish I could sue them!

PNC Financial Services Group pnc cheated me

Pnc bank agent at east hanover, nj branch told me that if I have direct deposit in any of the three accounts (spend, growth) I have I will get $100 as checking bonus. So after I fulfilled the requirements after 4 months they pnc did not deposit the money. And now they say direct deposit was only suppose to be in spend account.

The response from bank is very cold and they are least bothered from there customer.

PNC Financial Services Group refinance home, nightmare

We have been trying to refinance our home with PNC since November 2011, its April now. We have done everything they have asked for... PNC has lost our paper work, They have restarted our loan 3 times.. hit our credit report also 3 times, which has lowered our rating each time it hits..
Each time they say something different, asked for me to prove that I will collect Social Sec. for the next 3 yrs..what doctors is going to put their name on the line to say that. didn't ask if my husband was gonna have a job for the next 3 yrs..
Second would not use all of my income..
Now the last straw..would not count our whole property in the appraisal, We have almost 6acres a small horse farm in 2 states. But the property has to be sold as one, can not be divided.. We were upfront with PNC from beginning. about the house .. Even the Mortgage rep said he cant find the reason why they wont let the refinance go through...Now PNC wants PMI...want a scam...this has been going on for almost 6months and now this. Don't try PNC.. they have put us through hell.

PNC Financial Services Group pnc wont close my account

I moved from NC to TN. I called to close my PNC account, but they didnt answer the phone. My account went negative so they started charging $7 per day. I finally got thru to a person at PNC. He said I couldnt close my account until it had a positive balance. I said how can I know what to pay since there is.a.daily penalty? He said.to just pay six extra days and mybe it will be enough. PNC received $7B in bailout money and now they abuse the people they got it from.

PNC Financial Services Group quick foreclosure procedure

How can the Government allow a such abuse to continue?
I underwent surgery very recently .The body part, being operated on, is crucial for production on a work place. As you may understand, I was not able to make enough to
cover all the expenses and the mortgage payments for 3 months as I was negotiating with PNC.After calling PNC, they asked me for some documents in order to modify the loan until I can resume work. (I just needed a temporary relief)
Apparently, EVERY REPRESENTATIVE SEEMS TO BE READING FROM A DIFFERENT PAGE if I can rely on my own experience dealing with PNC MORTGAGE DEPT; one requests the same document that was sent already. Finally, PNC advised me that my loan has been referred to a lawyer for foreclosure proceeding.
I paid March, April 2012 based upon a new book with lower monthly payment. PNC returned the money to me and continued calling me for payment. How silly is that when an individual is trying to honor his words through hardships and yet he (or she) is still being penalized?I understand that a contract was signed with an exact amount but at least accept the payment and continue working on the remained portion if you want to establish a good relationship with the homeowner such as myself.THE MAIN GOAL IS TO TAKE THE PROPERTY FROM ME because more they ask less a struggling person can come up with.Result TAKING OVER OF THE PROPERTY.
Now I am trying to reinstate the mortgage payment but the lawyer assigned by PNC hit me with an insane amount OF $10, 309.66 that needs to be paid in two weeks.HOW CAN THE GOVERNMENT ALLOW THIS ABUSE TO CONTINUE? Among the $10, 309.66, ATTORNEY FEE $3, 500 ( THREE THOUSAND FIVE HENDRED DOLLARS. Let's see what $3, 500 is for : Attorney fees $615+ Attorney fees estimate 820+ Title search and Exam 200+Filling fee estimate $1, 000+Service of Process estimate $600+Skip Trace Estimate $90+Case dismissal estimate $50+Dismissal Prep Fee estimate $125. CAN SOMEBODY TAKE A LOOK AT THESE FEES AND ENLIGHTEN ME?some of these fees appear to be similar to me.
Can you imagine charging a struggling family $3, 500 just for attorney fees when it had trouble already making ends meet? PNC BANK, , , PNC BANK...PNC BANK
Where are my people from any agency responsible of overseeing the banks, any real estate lawyer? Please help me see the light in this murky, dark tunnel.I am not ready to give up but I am so tired with the recovery therapy ;I only need someone to stand by me.This is my address [protected]@att.net

PNC Financial Services Group customer service and policies

PNC - Dishonoring the elderly and recently departed.
If you are elderly, dump PNC. If your parents are elderly, urge them to do so. My 88 year old father (living independently near Pittsburgh with no family nearby) had the foresight to take me to a PNC branch in March 2011 and add me to his account. In June he broke his leg. The ambulance took him away and he never saw his home of 54 years again. The injury resulted in a series of surgeries, hospitalizations, and complications that ultimately led to his passing in Dec 2011. So in June, I suddenly had to get visibility on his (very limited) finances and pay his bills. PNC was terrible on several occasions. 1) After we signed the document that joined me to the account, we asked for a copy of it. “Sorry - Not our policy”. Huh? We had to argue with the staff for an hour to get a copy. The clerk had to make a call to ‘higher headquarters’ to get authorization. For over 50 years, including 25 in the Army, I have never suffered a refusal for a signed document. Important document - fine print with conditions, provisions, and obligations – our social security numbers, our signatures: and we don’t get a copy? Why? Is there an insidious agenda to allow them the ability to deny the document’s existence if it suits their needs? It was a chilling experience. My poor father felt so humiliated for dragging me into the mess. My visits with Dad were limited and time was precious. So, addition to the incomprehensible administrative issue, PNC robbed us of quality time together and cut short our enjoying a local park. 2) PNC says you can download 6 years of statements on-line for free. NOPE - Not true when this period includes time with another bank that PNC swallowed-up (National City – 2008). Dad (while in the hospital) had to buy monthly statements at $5 each to complete the six-year ‘look-back’ period for his Medicaid application. 3) Dad died in December and therefore not eligible to keep his Jan Social Security payment. I notified the SSA before Jan. Noting that SS checks are issued by the Treasury Department, and it can take several months for Treasury to ‘get the word’ from the SSA, I was advised to request that Dad’s bank send back the Jan 2012 and any future SS checks. I went to a PNC branch and told them what I needed to accomplish. It appears that I am the first person in history to make such a request. I patiently explained the situation. Finally it sank in. I thought there would be a standard and simple form to fill out. Wrong – I had to prepare a letter. After several iterations of the letter (written while at the branch – much to the annoyance of the bank employee), it appears I eventually provided sufficient detail, background, and intent to meet PNC’s exacting standards. I imagined “refuse SS check – recipient deceased” would have been adequate. Dang – I forgot to ask for a copy of the letter; that might have been interesting. 4) After Dad’s death, I continue to monitor the checking account on-line and make deposits as necessary to ensure his enduring obligations are paid through automatic deductions that he set-up (for house and auto insurance, and gas, water, and electric utilities). This will continue until I can coordinate the sale of his car and house. (By the way – I am the court appointed executor of Dad’s estate.) Three weeks ago, WITHOUT NOTICE the account disappeared from on-line visibility. Can you image this happening to a bereaved spouse? No notice – No message giving me any indication concerning what happened – No indication concerning how to get the situation fixed. Nothing in the mail or email. No phone call. POOF - GONE. Panic – wondering if bills with automatic deductions are going to bounce. I contacted an on-line consultant for a chat session – No value; he had no authority and passed-the-buck. Not much help from the 888 customer service number (with a client satisfaction representative) – That session was very unpleasant. The rep promised to send me a PIN within 3-5 days for me to reestablish access; the PIN has not arrived. So, if you are elderly, dump PNC while there is still time. It will be worth the time. Your bank should be the least of one’s worries during a time of loss. It should not be the greatest source of stress. PNC has dishonored my father. Dad fought the Japanese Empire. His son is losing the fight against Imperial PNC.
I hired an attorney to guide the process of probating Dad’s Will. Part of the process requires opening a checking account – A new one in the name of the decedent’s estate. I have not bothered to tell the estate attorney about the problems I’ve had with PNC, though he was aware that Dad and I have an account there. I presumed the attorney would establish the estate bank account with PNC. And get this – THERE IS A PNC BRANCH DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET FROM HIS OFFICE! I will not attribute any comments he may have made about PNC, and I’ll let you draw your own conclusion concerning the following: He (an experienced, competent, and conscientious estate and probate attorney) SELECTED A DIFFERENT BANK! The PNC institution needs to go out of business. Unfortunately Dad has been used as a bill-payer for their glistening headquarters in the ‘burgh (and from which they can see the humble house in which Dad was born.) Arbitrary rules, poor customer service. They will play any trick conceivable. DUMP PNC while before it’s too late.

Well, the reason you had this problem was that you didn't go about things correctly. One of my biggest pet peeves are people who blame others (whether it be a person or establishment) for mistakes that they made.

1. The document that you signed that they needed to keep was your signature card. It wasn't going anywhere. It was used to verify your signature on the account when checks are written and withdrawals are made. The account disclosures that I am sure they gave to you would have clearly documented any information you needed.

2. When your father passed away it was your obligation to report that to the bank IMMEDIATELY. It isn't the bank's resposibility to stop checks from coming in. You report your father's death, present a death and short certificate, and the account is converted to an estate account.

3. It is not your attorney's responsibilty to do any of this. As a matter of fact, without being the executor of the estate, he can't. As the executrix, it is your responsibility.

PNC Financial Services Group bad bank

I have done my banking services through a small-town family-owned bank since I was 12 and NEVER had a problem. Now that I am a grown adult- starting out my career, I opened my first "Corporate" Bank Account around a month ago...And it has been a headache ever since! First off, the Bank Manager who opened up my account at PNC Bank in Dunwoody, I find out a week later, keyed in my Social Security # wrong (mistyped the last number)...Boy! Let me tell you! I have received NONSTOP Emails-Phone Calls-Mailings from the Government-Homeland Security, stating I am under their radar for providing a false SS#...I had to fill out W-11's OVER AND OVER with my correct #, I even went into a local branch and tried to get them to correct my #...Still not fixed, and still getting hammered by Homeland Security! (Worries me that people who work at this bank obviously key in numbers incorrectly...) Then, I call because it has been a month now and I STILL haven't received checks for my account...Well the Branch Manager never ordered them, even after I PAID for the order last month! And what was the last straw? Today, since it is the first of the month, that means BILLS, BILLS & MORE BILLS to pay...So I go into the branch today as I can transfer my rent money into my Landlords account...and guess what? THEIR COMPUTER SYSTEM IS DOWN! So my money is non-accessible, which equals an UNHAPPY LANDLORD. STAY AWAY FROM PNC! Not only is Homeland Security thinking I am an illegal alien, I also have no reliable access to my MONEY! I am closing my account and just sticking with the small town bank...

I completely agree. It is very confusing situation, LOL! I kept asking why I have to fill this form out every time I come in the branch, I even get the form in my mailbox twice a week...? I think I will just go to another branch near by and fix this...The funny thing is the person that opened my account and the person I have dealt with thus far HAS been the branch manager! Talk about scarey! Where, why and how did they hire this person! LOL! :) Thank you for your time.

Uh, I have went into the branch and showed my SS# to change and correct number, and they gave me W-11 form to fill out. So, obviously it isn't easy to fix. :)

Same thing happened to me, they keyed in wrong information, and now I have not received my ATM card in 3 weeks. When I went to correct it, they did not put the complete address either. Next day, I call customer service, and apartment number was missing. They told me they would cancel my current card, but I had to call them back in 3 days to order a new one. They are unprofessional, I withdrew $100.00 in a rush and they did not give me a receipt, they said they would take care of it later. They have 3 separate accounts with different numbers in 1, one for checking, one for savings, and something else. This is inefficient system. I am going to cancel this account.

PNC Financial Services Group harrassing phone calls

Bought car in Nov 11. Payment due 29th of month. They start calling 2 days after. Where is your payment. You are late. (late payment date is 6th of next month). We have great credit and do not pay late and I don't always pay on the due date. PNC wants it on DUE DATE. I have also paid it and they still call. They call my sons employer, his bosses phone number. They want a payment even after we HAVE MADE IT! They are rude. I have told them when I was making payment and were. They still call. WTF. We just got the loan and have't to wait till we can refinance. What can we do. It is harrassment. Please tell everyone not to use PNC. We have lerned the hard way. And if you have a lawyer friend with advice let me know. I am writting everything down so I can go to bank commission.

PNC Financial Services Group wire transfer fraud

My name is Umesh Chokshi and I have been banking with RBC-PNC for last 8 years, in the state of North Carolina.I have been regularly doing wire transfer to my overseas account back in India from RBC last couple of years without any complaint. After wire transfer, I have always received US dollar deposited to my NRE account back in India. And based on prevailing conversion rate in India, my USD gets converted to Indian Rupees by local INDIA bank where I have my account, not by the bank who does wire transfer.
I did my wire transfer of $24000 from PNC on 3/19/2012, for the first time after conversion from RBC, after duly completing wire transfer form at PNC branch in Cary, NC. On 3/21/2012, I was informed by my overseas bank that wire transfer has been credited to my account but money was NOT deposited in my overseas account in US dollar. Intermediary associate bank of PNC in India gave me Real Time Gross Settlement in Indian rupees, which is WRONG. Based on my wire transfer instruction money has to be deposited by PNC only in USD.
In this transfer process, PNC gave me credit to my account in India for Indian Rupees . Also credit was given at 10% lesser conversion rate than prevailing rate causing me a loss of $1414 .
I asked PNC following questions.
1. Why money was not give credit in to my overseas account in to USD
2. Why and who decided such low conversion rate while prevailing rate was almost 10% higher
3. If you have any documented Standard Operating Procedure for transfer and conversion, why it was not brought to customer before transfer for money clearly stating will be deposited NOT be deposited in USD
4. Who is going to pay the loss generated out of this wire transfer transaction?
I met PNC bank’s officer, Shannon Barnett and asked for clarification. He is not ready to answer any of the questions above but keep saying that we have transferred money to your account as per your instructions. Also, submitted online email complaint to PNC but have not received any response.
It is responsibility of PNC bank to deposit money only in USD in my overseas account till money reaches to it’s final overseas destination. PNC is charging $45 for wire transfer. My banker in India, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd has their account in US BANK, Wells Fargo for which SWIFT code was also provided during wire transfer yet PNC transferred money in Indian Rupees via Real Time Gross Settlement.
With this complaint, I want either my MONEY TO BE DEPOSITED TO MY INDIA ACCOUNT IN USD ONLY or let them pay the difference of $1414.

I am having the same issue. The bank is giving very low conversion rate. I think the best way to resolve is to file a complaint with the authorities. The Feds and the FDIS.

PNC Financial Services Group tampering with account

I have had the exact same pnc checking account for over 15 years now, this account was opened for the exclusive purpose of direct deposit... Which I have also had the exact same direct deposit order on this account for fifteen years as well. I have run approximately 40 to 50 thou thru this bank! For years and years it only took 24 hours, sometimes less for the deposit to register to my account... As of late for the past several months, it has been taking 3 to 4 days for the direct deposit to credit to my account... I complained about this matter, which pinc attempted to "blame" this issue on the source of the direct deposit... Which they should not have done as the source of my dd happens to be... Lol... The state of kentucky and no am not referring to welfare ayments either! When I checked with the state, I of course found that pnc lied on the state of kentucky! I turned in a consumer complaint over this... Now it takes anywhere from 5 days to a week for an electronic deposit to credit to my account after 15 years of service with this bank... On top of which there have been 2 seperate occurrances where I would go online to check my account... Money would be missing... The next day the money back in my account? What the h pnc! Am thinking a good youtube stink or lawsuit at this point would cure this problem!

PNC Financial Services Group unfair charges

On March 8, 2012 I had enough money in my account to cover all charges made through March 12th. On March 9th, PNC charged me $72.00 in overdraft charges for 2 transactions that posted that day, because of 5 pending transactions made that evening, then changed the date of the first 2 charges to March 12th. After those overdraft charges (which shouldn't have been charged) and posted withdrawals my account was still positive $100.63. Then the rest of the charges on my account posted which should have all been covered except for 1. They charged me 4 more overdraft charges, even though they had already withdrawn those amounts from my available balance when they were pending. I understand that I am responsible for 1 of the charges because I made a mistake when I deposited money and was short $8.87. All of the other items should have been paid without charges and a supervisor cannot explain to me why they weren't. This is not the first time this has happened and the only explanation the supervisor gave when I stated this was bad business practice and fraud was that this "was disclosed". My account should be overdrawn $8.87 plus 1 overdraft charge of $36, but because of the scam practices, it is overdrawn $224.87. When asked to close the account, they stated that they cannot close the account because of a negative balance and the account will be charged an addition $98 ($7/day for 14 days) continuous overdraft charges.

PNC stole from me too!

I have had the exact same problem with PNC and have been trying (unsuccessfully) for the last 3 months to get my money back. I was NOT overdrawn and yet PNC charged me overdraft fees, which caused more overdraft fees and kept compounding.

I keep getting sent to a Martha Lightle (martha.lightle@pnc.com) who claims she is "the highest level of escalation available to our customers". Which is TERRIBLE news to PNC customers and she is unwilling to correct the banks mistakes. I have filed complaints with the BBB (who closed the complaint as informational) and
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and these were both sent to the same Martha Lightle, who of course, continues to not resolve the problem.

After lots of time researching this, i have found this is absolutely a pattern with PNC - to charge overdraft fees they are not entitled to. As soon as i get my refund i will be closing my account with this company.

I have attached the string of emails here, i removed my personal information.

If anyone has any contacts or anything at PNC that can resolve this, PLEASE share!

thank you so much!

PNC hit me with overdraft charges too. I deposited an aprox. $500 check through the ATM on a Friday. It immediately showed up in the pending section online when I checked my account. I then wrote two checks out to pay bills, both were aprox. $180 each. I put these two checks in the mail on Saturday. Well, on Tuesday, I was hit with two overdraft charges for both of these checks. It boggles my mind that two checks can travel through the mail, be processed by the respective companies, be cashed and withdrawn from my account BEFORE a check I deposited a day before I even put these payments in the mail.

This happened to me once. PNC told me that if you have 6 pending withdrawals of $80, $60, $30, $15, $7, $5 and you have $150 in your account...instead of taking out the smallest and working up, they do the opposite. They start with the biggest amount and work down. If they took out the smallest and worked up then you would only have had the $80 check that bounced and you would have one overdraft charge. But they start with the $80 and work down...causing the $30 check to bounce as well as the $15, the $7, $5...giving you 4 overdraft charges.

Nice huh? That's just another way for them to make money.

PNC Financial Services Group pnc bank can be tough to deal with if you are handling them alone

PNC Bank needs to be pressured with Imminent (BK) Threats or Mediation Law and Procedures.
They are basically a giant collection agency. They purchase the distressed mortgage at Extreme Discounts from various key players in the sub-prime arena. They collect aggressively on this paper. They do not play by the rules and need to be pressed hard.

We have completed successful loan restructuring cases with PNC Bank. They are all long run and brutal battles.

PNC Financial Services Group social security number

Recently, I experienced fraud on my checking account. Since my house payments were automatically made each month on that account, I needed to contact PNC Mortgage to change the account numbers. I was dismayed to discover they insist on using my social security number for identification when I phone in. I know they need it for tax purposes, but a phone call about my mortgage is not a tax issue. They refuse to change their policy. BE VERY CAREFUL!

PNC Financial Services Group finance fees

Do not do business with pnc bank
Pnc was not willing to least lower the $50.90 finance charge (For being one day late despite having a good payment history) by something small to show that they were interested in keeping me as a customer - even something as low at $20. Very bad customer service. Pnc has proved to me that are only interested in making money, paying big fat bonuses to their executives, and not about understanding that this economy has been very tough on the average consumer. I would highly recommend not doing business with pnc bank.

Please make sure my account is current. Soon, I will close the account. The card no longer represents a viable tool to conduct electronic purchases. During the last two months, all computer purchases have been declined. Upon calling, customer service & speaking with two supervisors, it was explained by the following: ..."safeguards in place", as electronic transactions are not in my behavior pattern, and too frequent? I tried to understand and called it a day! A month later, couldn't watch a movie because the $8.00 Netflix bill hadn't been paid. Contacted PNC cust. serv., four times and nothing was done. Here are my concern about PNC bank: 1) customer service doesn't care 2) your rules actually deter business 3) don't tell a paying customer, what good for them 4) credit denial is always embarrassing 5) Check my records, I have never paid interest or carried a balance. Thanks,
Mary Elaine Huntington

"Companies bend the rules EVERY day. Anybody who doesn't know that drives the speed limit or less. I don't know anyone like that. The first proper comment wifi8827 would be to suggest having a better one-on-one relationship with your bank. I know 70% of the people at my bank. I deal with them a lot and they are always willing to help me out."

I agree that having a personal relationship with your bank is helpful, however the fact that the OP came home and trashed the bank online shows the type of relationship he/she probably has with them. Therefore he/she is not going to get any consideration from the bank when something like this happens.

I think its safe to assume that he/she probably went into the bank and threw a fit and caused a scene and stormed out, rather than calmly asking to speak with someone who can help.
