Planet Fitness harassment

Many women are sexually harassed at the Planet Fitness location in downtown Salt Lake City Utah. It is harassing in nature for men to choose a machine next to a woman when there are plenty empty ones to choose from. Then to constantly stare at the woman, watching her breasts and private parts while she is working out. Also, deliberately looking at the private parts of himself. When you move to another machine, you are observed by the male staff of Planet Fitness who get perterbed by this and join in on the harassment by constantly staring at you and asking you if you membership is up to date. Many of the female staff of Planet Fitness are obese by at least 250 pounds, have severe acne on their faces, have very low self esteem, and say harassing comments to beautiful and fit female patrons of Planet Fitness like "That makes me so sick I could puke". This is highly unprofessional behavior. I suggest women do not use Planet Fitness especially if they are beautiful.

I'm a middle aged woman that was kicked out of the Longmont Co Planet Fitness on my birthday of all days (Nov 6). I was a black card member who was transferred over from 19 Hour Fitness because it closed. It was an automatic transition to a black card member. I've been a member for a few years now. A couple of weeks ago I was harassed by another member. I was in the circuit room along with this male member (do not have his name) and a female and a few minutes later another female. I was moving from machine to machine following the timed green light/red light but skipped 2 machines because of a sore knee. I caught up to him and (later found out) his girlfriend because they were prolonging their routine and not following the green/red timed light. So I bypassed them and went to the last machine and then was going to backtrack the 2 machines that they were on. When I moved back a machine, that is when he became loud and belligerent instead of skipping me like I had with him. His girlfriend had left the room just before this incident but his voice was so loud that it could be heard across the center and it's a large area. There was another lady in the circuit room that was a witness on my behalf. He proceeded to call me vulgar names and threatened me by saying "I'll get my girlfriend to beat you up". I came right back at him because I could not take his abuse without standing up for myself. I only wished I would have called the police but did not have my phone with me. The staff came back because everyone could hear him and he made it seem like it was at fault when he initiated it. I talked to Isack (last name)the manager a few days later and did not get a good sense of understanding from him and felt he siding with the perpetrator. He also had told my witness that this guy membership was being pulled. When I came back a week or so later, I walked in just as the perpetrator and girlfriend were leaving and I simply (only thinking out loud) as I was checking in, "I'm glad they are leaving". So the employee ran to the manager making it seem that I was being rude to him when it wasn't directed at him and lied said that I said the 'f" word which I don't recall doing. So as I was working out, the manager came back to tell me not to harass his employee. So I said I wasn't directing that to him, just talking in the air and then I said "What a snitch". So then he said "Come with me, I'm pulling your membership". So I get harassed and threatened and I'm the one kicked out, with no hesitation!

Planet Fitness rude/customer service

I experienced a rude person on the phone, her name is norma. I did not appreciate the way she talked to me nor her customer service. I had a few questions, which I felt I was interupting her and she did not have time to answer my questions. I just joined the gym and my second experience makes me wish I have never joined. Yes, all it takes is customer service to make or break the company. The employee should not be working in cs if they don't understand the purpose of with it is and how it benefits the employer. Planet fitness, I give you a 2! Hopefully someone will look into this and see this email as a training opportunity with their employees.

I am confused by the complaint. What was it that you asked and what was the answer you did not like. Just saying that she "I had a few questions, which I felt I was interupting her and she did not have time to answer my questions. " just makes it sound like she was busy and you didn't like her doing her job while you were asking questions.

You also said "The employee should not be working in cs if they don't understand the purpose of with it is and how it benefits the employer. " ...BUT I am not sure what it was that they did wrong?

Based on the lack of information you gave here, I can not say the Planet Fitness did anything wrong. I do think you have a misconception of what BAD Customer Service might be.

Planet Fitness no written rules/selective enforcement

This place has predatory memberships and they lack published membership rules and policies. This enables the untrained, young staff to target people they feel don't fit the mold of a planet fitness member. They harass and attempt to intimidate members who they feel are breaking the imaginary rules which allows them to discriminate when they wish to. Stay away if you value your money and constitutional rights!

Planet Fitness fees after cancellation!

I canceled this membership in Oct 2014 because they wanted to charge me $39 for a yearly fee. I was told the fees were $10.00 a month with no contract. I closed the debit card I used when I signed up a year ago. They somehow got into my bank account and took the $39.00 plus the months since Oct. I have not been to the gym since Sept. I filed fraud charges against them because I did not authorize this charge. They somehow got into my bank account, (I never gave them my actual account number). Be aware of these practices. They won't respond to e-mail, they only call me on the phone and I told them back in OCT to cancel and they assured me that would happen. They have no right to go into my account when I canceled the card and the membership!

Planet Fitness black tagg

i applied for a contract for 2 years with planet fitness it`s has been more than a month that i`m struggling to get my black tagg from the the sales manager and the consultant are not at work when i ophone there to query about this the made 3 deductions all ready but i can`t go to the gym with the benifits they have promised me where can i cancel this or whom can i speak to regarding this matter.

Planet Fitness too many to name

Been going here for 3 months now and it seems to get worse... First, womans bathroom hasn't been cleaned in I don't know how long. This goes for the equipment. I've been staring at the same dust mark and hair tie under the treadmill. Paper towel holders don't work and the soap dispensers don't work in the ladies room. Numerous machines do not work and when someone does clean once in a blue moon its a woman.. While the boys chit chat and crack jokes.

Planet Fitness cancellation over charges

After canceling my year membership... planet fitness still charged me for another year... not only did the manager promise to take the charge off they charged us again three more times that same month.. causing MY bank to close my account for 350 worth of over draft fees... I had received an email again from.corporate and the manager again promising to return my funds and over the phone asked for an address where they can send the money to.. still haven't received any emails back not money back and my bank.still closed my account and now I'm in collections. They not only ruined my credit with my bank but they stole my money. Doing nothing they said they would!

I am having the same issue with canceling my membership. They promise to cancel it back in OCT now they have gone into my bank account and took the money after I canceled the debit card I used when siging up. I don't feel they should be able to go into your account without your permission and take money. Now I am going to close my entire bank account. WOW

Planet Fitness sexual harassment

​I am a member of Planet Fitness. I signed up at the Two-Notch Road location in Columbia, SC. I have been to all three locations and the only thing I see is males sexually coming on to women. I go to a gym to work out...not to have sex in closets and in the tanning beds. Planet Fitness has on their walls the following:

"We at Planet Fitness are here to provide a unique environment in which anyone – and we mean anyone – can be comfortable. A diverse, Judgement Free Zone® where a lasting, active lifestyle can be built. Our product is a tool, a means to an end; not a brand name or a mold-maker, but a tool that can be used by anyone. In the end, it’s all about you. As we evolve and educate ourselves, we will seek to perfect this safe, energetic environment, where everyone feels accepted and respected. We are not here to kiss your butt, only to kick it if that’s what you need."

This mission statement is nothing but a lie. Nobody in Planet Fitness are accepted or respected...unless you are willing to have sex with a stranger. Reporting this to corporate or the District Manager is useless. I already have. On Two-Notch Road in Columbia at 3am about 3 weeks ago a female was having a strip tease show.

Planet Fitness rude and unsupervised employees

Today is my 3rd day @ the Planet Fitness located at the Mayfair Plaza & I will agree with the many reviews I have read regarding rude/unprofessional employees! On or about 10 p.m. [protected]), I decided to try the hydro massage bed before I walked out the door. I went to the counter and asked RICH/RICHARD (who has red hair) for assistance. Without even looking towards my way he rudely said, "just press the blue button." I laid on the bed & began messing w/the flat screen that was blue but nothing. My sister had returned to the counter to get a token for the massage chair for my daughter whom was present as well. She asked RICH for a token & he ignored her so she asked BREE for help & informed her he is too rude. I asked my sister to go back to ask for assistance w/the hydro massage bed. I saw an employee by the name of JON and asked if he can help me. He, TOO, was looking at the screen & told me he had to reset it. It was evident JON wasn't too sure of what to do. Jon then returns with RICH who asks me how long was I laying there. I said I didn't know. He asked me if I pressed the blue button on the wall. I said no because I wasn't made aware the blue button was on the wall so I was looking for it on the blue screen instead. RICH then says, "WELL IF YOU WERE LISTENING THEN YOU WOULD HAVE HEARD ME SAY THE BLUE BUTTON IS ON THE WALL." At that moment, I sat up from the hydro massage bed & told him he NEVER said it was on the wall & this is my FIRST time so what he should have done is walked me through it. RICH continued to say again, "if I was listening." That was when I asked him, "Is this how you talk to people? Because it is truly unnecessary & I am DONE w/you." He said "whatever" & walked away. I went to the counter & asked for his manager's name and contact information. He grabbed the manager's business card & threw it on the counter. At that moment, I asked my sister to write everyone's name. As she is writing their names, she notices them giggling as if what occurred was funny. I called the number on the card which turned out to be the Mayfair location's number in which Rich (who referred himself as Richard) answered the call. I hung up & searched for the Planet Fitness number for Red Lion RD. I spoke to a very nice employee by the name of Rachel who instructed I call the General Manager Joe that is listed on the card tomorrow morning. She was polite & advised that I also email the Corporate Office as she noted how upset I was. Needless to say, I have been searching on line for this corporate email address/corporate number as there isn't anything listed when one logs into the Planet Fitness account. This information should be listed on the website and the business cards. The General Manager's business card should at least have the manager's email address for the customers. I have NEVER experienced such rudeness in my life! On the Planet Fitness website it states, "Call or stop by your home club location and speak with a staff member at the front desk, they will be more than happy to assist you. Our goal is to deliver exceptional customer service to our members at all times." This is false for the Mayfair Plaza location! The only person I would exclude from this (which sadly she was not present today) is an employee by the name of CALEB. When I first joined, Caleb gave us a tour, she answered any & all questions & I could go to her w/anything & she was NEVER rude! She knows what "great customer service skills are!" I applaud her attentiveness to the customers. She represented the Mayfair location so well that I joined, my husband joined w/his own membership, my sister joined & a girlfriend is due to join. The fact that there aren't any night managers to ENSURE quality service is horrible. This experience was so avoidable on RICH'S part had he just reset the machine & politely showed me the correct location to what should have been pressed so that I am aware for the next time. The disrespect, impoliteness and unpleasantness that was displayed today should NEVER be tolerated by any place of business. Planet Fitness should truly take these reviews seriously because too many people are saying the same thing which clearly shows there is an issue on hand which will have the company lose customers as opposed to gaining customers. If anyone has the contact number or email address to the "Corporate Office" please post it so that I can make them aware. I just hope when I call JOSEPH PIETRAFITTA tomorrow morning, he is available for one and two, a pleasant conversation can be held (unlike the night staff assigned who are no assistance to the customers. Again, EXCLUDING CALEB!)

Planet Fitness billing / cancellation

I had wanted to cancel my membership for a few weeks but didn't know when I had to cancel before I would be charged again so I asked one of the employees. She told me that I had until the 10th to cancel or I would be charged for an additional month. So I decide to hold off for another week. A few days later it is June 1st and I am charged the annual fee. I come into the gym on the 2nd and I ask why I was charged and she said it was the annual fee. I ask if it can be waived because I want to cancel my membership. I had only been with this gym for a little over a year and I didn't remember the annual fee date that was in my membership agreement that I read OVER a year ago. She said it couldn't be waived. I promptly canceled my membership immediately. If the employee I asked about canceling several days earlier had mentioned anything about an annual fee coming up I would have canceled sooner. Because Planet Fitness is franchised they don't care if you are unhappy when you cancel because even if you join another Planet Fitness, they don't see any of your money. I am so unhappy and I feel like I was lied to by omission. The first employee I asked about canceling should have told me to cancel before June 1st or I'd be charged the annual fee. This place is horrible.

Planet Fitness beware! rude/obnoxious/ unprofessional/incompetent managers/assistant managers

On 06/03/2014 I went to Planet Fitness to cancel my membership and to inquire as to why I was charged a $29 yearly fee yesterday on my checking account when my fee was not due until October. I first spoke with Assistant Manager “Dan”. I informed Dan that I would like to cancel my membership and
also that I had been charged a $29 fee on my checking account on 06/03/2014 that I would like to be credited back to my account. He immediately stated that he could cancel my account but only a manager could credit that fee back. He looked up my account and noted that my yearly fee was due in October but could not give me an answer as to why I incurred this fee now. He stated that the yearly $29 fee “DOES NOT” show up on their computers; only the corporate office gets that info. He then said that I would
have to go home and bring them back a bank statement showing that the fee was taken out. I was perplexed! I asked him to call the corporate office and get the confirmation from their records. Why should I have to be inconvenienced when he could get that info himself? He continuously stated that he DID NOT have the number for the corporate office. I expressed my displeasure with his nonchalant and dismissive attitude and told him that I found it hard to believe that he did not have a number for his
corporate office. As I was waiting for him to print up a copy of my payments thus far, he continued to argue with me and increasingly became angry that I did not except his dismissive behavior nor did I believe his claim that he had no way of contacting the corporate office and could not verify my payment. While waiting on me he then rolled his eyes at me with a “to hell with you-how dare you question me” look and abruptly walked away to help several customers who had just walked in. I waited patiently while he did this. He came back to the computer, grudgingly, to help me and the phone
rang. He picked up the phone and continued to ignore me again and proceeded to start to enter the customer on the phone’s information in the computer to look something up for them. (Please note: There were 2 other employees at the counter at that time, AND THEY WERE NOT helping customers! He could have let them help any new customers that came in or called while he finished with me.) It was then that I became angry and stated, “Are you kidding me! You’re with a customer and you’re going to ignore me and help that person on the phone! Where is the statement of my charges that you were going to print for me?” He again became angry. Because he was ignoring my request for a copy of my charges, I asked the girl behind to counter to print one for me. There is only so much abuse a person can take and I became angry when Dan continued with his dismissive behavior towards me. I told him there was no way that I believed that he could not call the corporate office and resolve this. I then told him that I believed that he was just too lazy to do his job and that he wanted me to be inconvenienced and do it for him, by my having to go all the way home and print up my bank statement for him. I also informed him that I was not an idiot and was sure that they purposely did this to customers hoping that they would give up and not pursue their refunds. At some point the manager, "Andy, " (apparently none of them have last names!) came over and immediately became just as rude, obnoxious and demeaning as Dan. He continued to spew the same silliness that Dan did (of course standing by his co-worker). He kept repeating the same thing that Dan did; that they did not have access to the records of the yearly fees; and that they did not have a number for the corporate office to verify my payment; and that I would have to go home (do their job) and bring back a copy of my bank statement. He continuously interrupted me and tried to demean me by yelling over me; which, in my opinion, was an attempt on his part to provoke me into stooping to his level. The girl finally gave me a copy of my statement and when I looked at it I observed that the $29 fee I paid in October was, in fact, listed on the sheet. I then showed it to both of them, to show them that they did, in fact, lie about their not having access to members’ yearly fees! Andy could not admit that they outright lied because they were too lazy to look up the information, so instead he said, “Well, I still can’t do anything about the $29 fee without seeing your statement because it’s not listed on here!” I said, “That’s why I asked you to call the corporate office.” He kept yelling and belittling me in front of customers and I told him I would be back with my statement. I then went all the way home, copied my bank statement, and returned with copies. Andy came back up and immediately very angrily stated, “I looked it up and that fee was for West Boylston, not us!” I said, “Well I guess you were able to look into the fees without my having to go all the way home to do your work after all!” I expressed my displeasure with their lack of professionalism and he then yelled, “You can leave now and don't every come back! YOU ARE NOT EVER WELCOME BACK HERE!” That was a very rude obnoxious thing to say in front of staff and customers, especially since all I asked was for them to research a charge that should not have been taking out of my checking account. As I was still at the counter he then mumbled “f*****g b****” under his breath, which was totally uncalled for and unfortunately got a rise out of me and I responded in kind. I am sure that he said that to me to provoke me into a confrontation so that all anyone would see was me losing my temper, not knowing what he said to get that reaction. As I was leaving he was still ranting and yelling "Get out of here and don't ever come back!" As if I would! I assure you that AT NO TIME was I disrespectful to either Andy or Dan until they continued to treat me in a rude, discourteous and demeaning manner. The bottom line was that they did not like my questioning why they would not help me. How dare I question them?! I went in there with a question about the $29 fee, and to cancel my membership, NOT TO BE ABUSED AND BELITTLED! This could have been resolved immediately had either of them done their jobs and taken the time to research my payment. They obviously lied when they said that they could not look up my payments because Andy looked it up as soon as I left the first time, by his own admission! I will go thru the bank regarding their over-charge on my account, but BEWARE, Planet Fitness hires immature, unprofessional, rude, obnoxious children as managers and assistant managers.

Planet Fitness automatic withdrawals

I have been a member of this gym for years since it has opened and never had an issue till this year. They withdrawal money for random 'rules' that you NEVER agree too. Isn't that illegal? If I would have known they would withdraw $40 for a 'yearly membership fee' I would most definitely have put money in my account or just cancelled the membership. Now I have $80 dollars to pay because of over draft fees. When I called them about this deduction they said 'oh a lot of people have called in about this' so what they're saying is no one was aware of this? Total waste of money. I'm canceling my membership and going to a better gym.

Planet Fitness account negligence

I've had my membership for over a year with planet fitness. And every month they have been withdrawing their membership fees out of my account with no problems. Something happened with my credit card on file and it started declining the fees. Instead of sending me some type of notification or even calling me, planet fitness allowed my account to acquire fees because of non payment. I now owe $125, because of their negligence. Maria from the GUNN Highway franchise in Tampa, stated that they have to many members to deal with to be keeping up with their accounts and if I had came to the gym more often I would of known of the problem with my account. Because of my work and daily routines being a single father of 2 kids, I don't always have time to go to the gym. I'm very frustrated over this because if I don't pay it'll go to collection and damage my credit. This is the only business that does not contact you when their is a discrepancy in your account, they just allow it to acquire fees until you show up to the gym again.

Planet Fitness singing while you work out

This is the 2nd time that a black person will start singing. It is very annoying to hear someone sing, let alone clearing there throat or coughing. The 1st time this happened, I asked Mike do I have to put up with this black man singing and Mike said no. Mike went and confronted the man and it was over. Today May 6th a black lady starts singing and praising the Lord, I asked her to keep it to her self, in the next moment she cursed at me, I went to the front desk and Matt says there is nothing he can do unless it is offensive. I told him it is offensive to me to have to listen to that. I did not realize Planet Fitness is for those wanna be singers. I am going to quit my membership. After cancelling my Plant Fitness membership I realized I was still be charged monthly on my AMEX. Contacted PF and told them and asked for it to be fixed. They did not fix so I contacted credit cerd company and told them to not accept the charges. PF sent me to a collection agency for $82 which then posted a key derogatory on my credit report. Never sent me a letter and refused to send me proof of amount owed when asked.

I joined the gym using Discovery Vitality card. The Institution is charging me full amount and double for that matter. Now I stopped paying them and they took me to ITC. I want them to demonstrate to me why I am being charged double from the beginning of the contract and why was i paying a full membership fee. beware of the annual memebership fee if you cancel the service.. they will take it even if you cancel the membership.. stay away from the cheap price. the service at the gym is horrible and the staff is rude.

I joined about 2 years ago and am no longer under any contract but they keep billing me monthly. I no longer live in a city with a Planet Fitness and tried to cancel and was told that I needed to send a notarized letter certified mail to the headquarters. When I said that was ridiculous they threatened to put me into collections.

This gym is a total ripoff and sleazy.

I went to Planet Fitness and they looked at me like I was in the wrong place. I am in good shape but I am not some steroid popping fool. My first day in there working out one of the guys came from the front of the gym and told me "hey you can't drop any weights in here." I told him I am aware of that so it wasn't me. I had a few similar encounters so I just left. It really is a crazy place. Stay away

this gym needs more security, my girlfriend's $200.00 jacket got stolen from the women's locker room, around noon time on 2/9/11 i wouldn't recommend this gym..

There are 5 stationary cycles at our gym in Port Elizabeth and only 2 of them are working. after numerous complaints nothing has been done. Just empty promises. I posted a complaint yesterday and no response...Is it this difficult to fix 3 bicycles? Come on Planet Fitness shape up!

Wen I joined in August you pay alot of fees, like maintance. Then in June they take it out of you account again so you actually pay it twice a year. You have to go to the fitness center on the day you started your contract or they will start it again for another year. So I feel I have been screwed twice. They suck.

Planet Fitness illegal withdraws / discrimination of age

My 14 year old son was dropped off from baseball practice while my husband and I were within 5 minutes of finishing our workouts. The manager came over and told my son he had to leave! She said they needed to use the chair for someone who actually needed it! I cancelled our $20 gold memberships on December of 2013! We're still getting charged after signing all papers to cancel. I just spoke with a manager he advised me to call corporate. We have gold memberships which allow us to bring a guest! My son is a shy kid and hates congruent action. He left and waited outside for us! We didn't even know where he was!
Do not give them your business. Horrible management. Treadmills are more productive than their staff.

Planet Fitness billing fraudulently

After over 10 months of no activity and resigning from the gym they started a withdrawl again in january. I called planet fitness and my bank. Bank of america (Boa) put a stop payment on the vendor. Guess what? Then vendor changed the name to planet fit4321 and took another charge out in feb. Boa says that they never see that from a gym only loan companies. On the phone now with local gym in vancouver (I live on the other side of the state now) and they are trying to fix. After almost a year of no activity all of a sudden they steal money for two months. Guess what again? The vancouver location said they would refund my money if I drove 12 hours round trip and spend approx $200 in fuel to deliver in person a statement regarding the theft. 12 hours and $200 to recover $43. They blamed corporate.

Planet Fitness attempted billing

Keep your eye on your account even after cancellation. I just found an attempt to withdraw a monthly membership fee years after cancellation. I checked with my bank and no attempts in the last year (making sure I didn't miss anything) so I called Planet Fitness Corp and they couldn't do anything except contact the Portland, Oregon office since it's "independent".

Surprising to me to see the attempt on my account so i'm warning those out there that HAVE CANCELLED to monitor their accounts for attempts like what I just found.

Planet Fitness cancellation of account

My name is Hermann Jacques Keyser, ID No, [protected], hence cancellation of account in 2004 at Claremont Cape Town,

I am requesting that this matter be rectified and immediate cancellation is done.

I have a reference NO [protected] Planet 131231 due to cancellation it is illegal to still deduct any payment from a client. Hence cancellation were made.

I feel that they owe me money.

Planet Fitness checking account/ routing number/ has cause me to cancell my membership

I ask Ashley at Warren Gym if I could pay my bill a different form of payment she told me the only way is through my checking account. I told her I know longer can pay through that checking account and I told her if my account be debit they will not be able to collect the money. She told me in an sarcastic way that the only way you can stop payment is cancelling your contract with Planet Fitness. I told her I been with Planet Fitness for 1 year in 1/2 and I have to cancel my member because of a 10 dollar payment that I can come into the gym to pay my bill. I think Planet Fitness is unethical on how they treat their consumers that on longer could pay by checking account. That is a form of slavery. That the Consumers don't have say so on how they can pay their money toward their fitness bill. Planet Fitness loss a paying customer because I can't pay through my checking account.

Planet Fitness employee (jenna)

I was running on the treadmill yesterday evening (Friday November 15, 2013) when all of a sudden the lights went out and came back on. I just kept on running. I thought a switch was accidentally flipped, but than a few minutes later it happened again. The employee came over and I asked what was going on. She told me they were closed. I said "is this your way of letting someone know?" and she responded with "yes". I told her I wanted the name of her supervisor and HER name, so I can make a complaint. She responded back with " I don't give a F!%k WHAT you do"! It is VERY dangerous to just turn out lights and poor business practice. If I tripped or got hurt on the treadmill because it was pitch black because I couldn't see and didn't expect that the lights were just going to be turned off I would be going after Planet Fitness to take care of my medical costs. I intend to make a complaint to her manager about what this staff member is doing because they need to know this is happening and to immediately put an end to it!
