I first enrolled into the Dental Assistant program and was scheduled to complete my training within 9 months time. It has taken over 2 years to finally graduate from Pima.
1st reason: my Dental instructor wanted me to be his sexual pet, I refused and then he failed me for a whole sequence (6week section).
2nd reason: after failing me went to the faculty and made up a horrible lie to get me terminated from the program.
3rd reason: the faculty took his side and word and the ones that knew the truth ended up quiting instead of sticking up for me..
Pima hasn't followed through with their vow of JOB placement assistance.
7 months after finishing my clinical work experience I have received disrespectful emails and rude remarks saying that they have been nothing but good to me and I'm hurting their feelings...
My overall experience has been a heeadache and if anybody wants any advice stay away from Institues and go to the College Of Southern Nevada or UNLV.

This is a horrible "school." I went to interview for a class, was told point blank they don't accept everyone for the program, only 30 out of 200 make it into the class. Then they had the nerve to tell me I'd have to completely shave off my beard and hide my tattoo with a band aid because they don't consider either to be professional. The tour is a total joke, the admissions rep kept dropping how much all the equipment e.g. the mannequins for EMT class cost ($13, 400). Seriously? Then how much a the new parking cost, and how they want new awnings but are so expensive. Needless to say I won't be going to Pima.

I wish I had done more research before going to this school, not once but TWICE! It's been horrible treatment, no job, $20, 000 in loans to pay back, etc. If anyone knows how I can go about suing this school, please email me to let me know: mistitaylor1975@gmail.com. I can fill anyone in on my situation if they really want to know the details.

ITS TIME TO MAKE A STAND!
I agree with the all the bad reviews. They will lie and tell you anything to get you into their school and take your money. Made complaints to the DOE. They said in the beginning that their credits are accredited and can be transferred to any college including CSN. 3 months into it, after many teachers and staff gossiping, I questioned CSN directly of the transfer of credits and they told me basically "That school is a real joke, we had have many students here fall victim." I confronted the director about the accreditation and I was told "TECHNICALLY its college accredited at ONE college located in NEBRASKA" seriously?! So they just generally claimed they were accredited by national colleges because this ONE college in Nebraska would take it. I've asked them to credit back my student loans and returned most of my items that they provided because I felt cheated and wronged. I've yet to hear from anyone from the DOE to help but I'm pretty sure there are many more out there who have had fallen victim to this atrocious school. If anyone wants to join in and do something about this, then shoot me an email at againstpima702@gmail.com

Well, i suppose pima is just a ### "school" all arpound as i am enrolled in arizona and these are not certified teachers they are reg people like you n i that took a 9 month course in being an m/a and they're the teachers at the school... no training. I have had over 5 different "teachers" in a 6 week period fer one class as teachers would just disapear and not return.. one teacher particularly has NOT stopped singling me out - discriminating against me as a person because of past events in my life. I am 21 years old and when class started i was told i may take myself to the bathroom if i need to go - only to later get a write up for going pee! the write up was never thrown out after i complained i see students get up to go to the bathroom all the time they dont get punished. they bascially told me if i haave a problem leave. AFTER they take all my momey - oh, and than i was sent out to go take a U/A becuz i havge a medical marajuana card - which is enough to ";lead them to belive i am a drug user" SO AFTER they promise to pay for it and give me till 8am the next day to get there n get it done ( i am a BROKE ### STUDENT WITH NO VEHICLE. NO TRANSPORTATION NO BUSES BY MY HOUSE. so once i arrive at 10am and they are asking me to to pay fer this drug test that i have to take JUST becuz i have a medical card. SO i call ther school about paying for this drug test and she says we do pay but just forget your terminated, your late. WHAT?!? IM SORRY BUT NO. SO I PAY FOR THE TEST ANYWAY. THE SCHOOL RECIEVES CLEAN RESULTS. AND THAN TELLS ME THAT EVEN THOUGH THE SCHOOL IS CONTRACTED WITH CONCENTRA TO DO ALL THEIR DRUG TESTS - MEANING ANY OTHER STUDENT TURNS IN THEIR U/A AND IF ITS CLEAN END OF STORY. POINT BLANK. BUT WITH ME, NO. YET AGAIN SOMETHING I DO THAT EVERYONE DOES THAT IS ACCEPTABLE IS NO LONGER ACCEPTABLE BECUZ ITS ME, GO f***IN FIGURE. SO SHE CALLS ME BAK AND SAYS WELL, ITS CLEAN, I DIDNT EXPECT IT TO BE CLEAN SO I SIGNED A NEW CONTRACT WITH SOMEONE ELSE AND I NEED YOU TO GO TAKE A BLOOD TEST.

f*** THAT.

I DID YOUR DRUG TEST.
IT WAS CLEAN.
IM NOT A DRUG USER.
YOU CANT KICK ME OUT OF SCHOOL FOR SUSPICION OF DRUGS AND THAN GET MAD WHEN I PASS YOUR DRUG TEST.
THEY TOOK MY MONEY AND ARE CURRENTLY REFUSING ME EDUCATION, NOT ALLOWIBNG ME TO GO TO SCHOOL SAYING THEY WILL TERMINATE ME IF I DONT DO THIS SECOND TEST, .. JUST LIKE THEY SAID FER THE FIRST TEST " YOU CANT COME BACK TO SCHOOL TILL YOU TAKE A DRUG TEST, IT MUST BE CLEAN, THAN THEY TRIED TERMINATING ME, THAN IT WAS CLEAN AND THEY COULDNT SO NOW THE SAME THING OVER AGAIN, AND ITS LIKE WHAT THATS NOT ENOUGH? NO YOU WANT ME TO TAKE A BLOOD TEST FER U ONCE A WEEK ER WHAT?!

THGE SCHOOLS A RIP OFF.
THEY SEEM TO HAVE NO STANDARDS FOR THEIR TEACHERS TO MEET.
THEY DONT CARE ABOUT HELPING YOU ACHIEVE A BETTER LIFE.
THIS SCHOOL DESERVES TO BURN.
I WOULD TELL SOMEONE WITH EVERYTHHING I HAVE DO NOT GO TO PIMA MEDICAL.
AS THIS SCHOOL COST ME A ### TON OF MONEY, NEVER ENDING STREAM OF TEARS, AND MY DREAM OF BEING A DR. HAS ONLY FURTHER BEEN PUSHED BAK AS NOW I HAVE NO FINANCIAL AID BECUZ OF BEING "TERMINATED FER DRUGS" I CANNOT GET FINANCIAL AID EVEN THOUGHT NONE OF THAT IS TRUE.. I HAVE TO START OVER AT ANOTHER SCHOOL FROM THE VERY BEG. WITH NO CREDITS. SO A YR OUT OF MY LIFE THAT COST ME LIKE 20, 000$ WASTED...

I've seen a student contact Pima because they were having problems with their externship, and there were no other options available at the time, according to their advisor. They said they couldn't even get new externs placed completely, so it would be easier to stay put. That's what happened. He stayed put, despite the fact that his supervisor spent most of her time looking for a job elsewhere, surfing the net, and checking her myspace page, and continued to have a strained and difficult time working with her for no reason that he understood. Long story short, despite the fact that the owner of the clinic assured him an A grade for his externship, and was VERY pleased with his performance, he was given a fail grade, based on areas of concern that were NOT issues. For instance, they claimed his customer service was poor, and that he was always late, when in fact, the clients loved him (they said they would miss him, after only 6ish weeks there), he showed up on time (with one exception, when a tree knocked out power to the apartment, and he missed his alarm). He showed up ASAP, after calling, and was assured it was 'completely understandable. Then they lied and they marked him as a no call/no show on his review. To boot, he has showed up before as scheduled, to find NOONE at the office. Noone bothered to call him to let him know that their was no work that day and that he shouldn't come in. And they call him a no call/no show? That's BEYOND unprofessional. In addition, all his timesheets were approved. His hours were clearly stated, and noone said one word to him about punctuality, as it clearly wasn't an issue.

So, he quit his job to complete this externship, figuring he'd be golden once he graduated. He worked for over 6 weeks UNPAID to complete his education, lost a job in the process, only to find out he has failed his externship for no reason whatsover, and is completely disheartened about the situation. The sad thing is, the complaint about his supervisor was not the first. Others had complained about her as well, and his advisor even asked him specifically about her, as she had heard some negative feedback from others. And now, they tell him the only thing he can do is repeat the externship within a short period of time, or risk having to retake his classes (and of course, pay the school more $$$). He had a high GPA and did great. So...work part time for 9 months or so...quit your job to finish your unpaid externship...no problem! Give him a fair grade that is representative of his performance. But just drop everything and take another 6 weeks unpaid, when the school allows some nitwit to let her personality determine your final grade? Hardly worth it.

Can't speak to the sexual harrassment, but more attention needs to paid to the promises Pima makes to its students. If the school hears that an externship supervisor is problematic, why, why, why would you continue to send students there?!? It suggests, sadly, that Pima is more interested in their bottom line than in providing satisfactory services and education to it's students, that is, customers. And when the price tag is upwards of $7, 000 dollars, that feels criminal.

I would not recommend this school to anyone. Seven grand goes a lot farther in the real world than at Pima.

Why did you not file a law suit against this teacher if he supposedly failed you due to not being his "sexual pet"...?
