Picture People / TPP Operating Refund of session fee

Hello,

I booked a session on March 13th at the Livingston, NJ location. But I cancelled it. They said they will send refund my $20 session fee but haven't received it until now. Every time i call, they give me some reason. My confirmation number was Viswanathan405219944

Later I rescheduled a new session at the Totowa center in NJ for March 19th. My confirmation number is Viswanathan404419791. They said they will either adjust the $20 session fee amount with my purchase or refund the $20 separately. I made a purchase but they didn't deduct the $20 amount towards my purchase. They said it will be refunded within a week or two. But I haven't received that $20 refund too from them yet. Contacted them plenty of times but they keep giving excuses.

I hope to receive my $40 session fee as soon as possible.

Desired outcome: I want my $40 session fee refunded

Picture People / TPP Operating Poor customer service, unusable product

I scheduled an appointment to have my grandchildren's pictures taken a couple of weeks in advance. I even went in to verify the appointment, which was never made, to let them know the ages of the children. We arrived 1/2 hour in advance. All the children were well rested and happy. The photographer and her assistant rushed through the sessions. What I got were pictures that had faces blocked out, poor poses, the floor is coming up in some photos, wrong children in the photo (they were from two different families), by the time I realized what they were doing, pictures were already snapped. I commented how bad the pictures were upon viewing and the lady informed me she had to "beg" someone to take their picture. I filed a complaint on line. Someone did call within the 24 hours. She truly seemed concerned. Four days later she called back and told me to go to Cosco for a refund! I will not post pictures of my grandchildren here, but I will provide upon request.

Picture People / TPP Operating The studio

My daughter and I had an appointment after the Christmas holidays for a session for my two granddaughters, ages 4 and 2 months. The waiting area was disgusting, the carpets were stained and the furniture was ripped and full of stains. When it was our turn to go back to the studio room I was immediately turned off by the appearance, dust balls everywhere, leftover trash from previous clients and the back drops stained and torn. The worst was when the photographer decided to put the baby in a basket using a black blanket as he shook out the blanket a sock from another client fell off and dust speaded everywhere. I spent the entire visit at this studio using anti bacterial wipes on my granddaughters. I have no complaints about the photographer or the pictures. I don't know understand how a popular chain could expect their customers to spend two or more hours in such disgusting surroundings.

Picture People / TPP Operating Rude Customer Service

I had booked an appointment for my family to take Christmas Pictures and we ended up being 30 minutes late for the appointment . I called the Picture People 10 minutes before my appointment start time and told them we were going to be late. I was told that there no appointments for re-booking and to arrive with snacks for my children to keep them busy while we waited. I understood that. When we got to picture people to check-in the person at the front desk began telling me that I was over 15 minutes late and that now I would be put on the walk-in list.I told the person that I had called in and he did something on the computer and said we could sit down. My family and I waited for an hour and a half. I started to notice that a lot of the names that had been called for scheduled appointments were for people not in the waiting area for their scheduled appointments instead of allowing me and family to take one those scheduled appointments they just went to next person on the list. My husband went to the check-in station and he was told that there were four scheduled appointments ahead of us. We continued to sit there with our children as they got restless. I noticed the same thing again with a photographer coming out for the next scheduled appointment and it being another "no-show". I asked my poor husband to ask again when our photo session would be coming up and he was told that were three sessions ahead of us. At this time other families sitting near us noticed how long we had been waiting and started asking us questions about long we had been waiting. I was told by another customer that the staff had been allowing customers to re-shoot photos and that was part of the reason they were running behind. Finally a staff member from the back studio area came over to and stated out loud in front everyone that we were 34 minutes late and that is why we have not been called back by photographer for our session. I then stated what about the "no-show" appointments that I have seen being missed and how come my family and I take one of those slots, since they were already scheduled in for sessions? I was then told by that same staff member that they have not had any "no-shows" so far. I knew that was a lie. He then proceeded to tell me until any "no shows" pop-up we would have to wait to be seen for a session and that was it he just walked. It was obvious at that time that there manager or staff could care less about making sure customers are accomdated or treated in a fair manner. I know we were late but at the same time I have been going to the same picture people studio for years and I will never go back again! I felt so insulted by the fact these employees were not upfront from the beginning and do not put in any effort to multi- task a situation. We could have been filled in a no-show appointment that would have a fair and professions response . I feel like my family and I were targeted as soon as we made the phone call that we were running late. The fact that staff member knew the exact minute our lateness lets me know the manager was well aware of the time we spent in the waiting area because she kept walking back to check on the status of the appointments. Bottom line no customer should be treated that way. I felt like I was back in middle school serving detention being punished for being late to class or something in that fashion! Needless to say everything happens for a reason because a woman I was sitting next to mentioned to me that JC Penny offers Christmas Photo Sessions also and they were located a couple stores down the way in the mall too:) My husband heard that ran right over to JC Penny told one the photographer staff members our current situation and he scheduled us an appointment within the next 20 minutes! Our photos came out great and the waiting environment was so much better than the chaotic picture people environment. The photographers were very professional and moved very fast even though they had one studio and picture people had four studio 's going while we were there. JC Penny also offers really great photo package's with a 40% coupon and picture people was only offering 15% for the month of December. JC Penny also gave me discount for my military service. Overall, what started out negative with the rude experience my family got from the picture people manager and staff member we were lucky that business like JC Penny are available that still operate on an efficient and reliable manner. I have never really been satisfied with the pictures and prices of I experienced with picture people. Sometimes the props would be very dirty and set-up poses not flattering. My advice to anyone scheduling pictures at Picture People during the Holidays would be make sure you arrive 15 minutes early so you can have photo session taken 30 minutes late and if you arrive late expect a disciplinary waiting period in their check-in area for 4 hours even if they have schedule "no show appointments" available for re-scheduling.

Picture People / TPP Operating Unmet wanted needs

Arrived 10 minutes late(first time at that mall I got lost) I was then considered a Walk-in. Waited for 3hours! It was my sons nap time he was starting to get fussy. I told the photographer it was for Easter. She used NO props at all! I had to suggest them and bring my own BOY bunny ears. I didn't feel she tried at all to make my son smile. Waste of Time! Studio extremely small and crowded (they should've considered strollers before making that huge appointment desk)

Picture People / TPP Operating Worst customer service

****** Unbelievable worst experience ever! ******

I called the Picture People studio located at 200 E Via Rancho Pkwy, Suite 101, [at North County Fair, Escondido, CA 92025 and scheduled an appointment for April 30th Saturday @ 6.50pm. As we were stuck in traffic, I called the studio on my way and said that we were running late by around 5-10 mins. The male employee who answered my call said that it was o.k but we have to wait for little bit as they were in session with the next party, and asked us to come in.

We arrived at studio around 7.03p.m and said the other employee at desk what happened. She said it's o.k and asked us to wait and went inside.

We waited for at least 20 mins (till 7.25p.m) and when she returned to desk, I asked her about checking in, then she said sorry and that they completely forgot about us and checked us in and again told us to wait. At that time another party came in who were also running late. They were asked to reschedule, but the lady said that they don't want to reschedule. So they were also told to wait.

After we waited for another 30 mins till 8.10p.m (Total 1 Hr), IN MY FACE, THE MANAGER TRACY AND THE CO-WORKER UNPROFESSIONALLY WHISPERED BACK AND FORTH AND MADE THE DECISION THAT THEY CANNOT ACCOMMODATE US. IN QUESTIONING WHY..THE MANGER RUDELY SAID THAT I WAS 30 MINS LATE AS I WAS CHECKED-IN AT AROUND 7.30 P.M AND THAT THEY CLOSE AT 8.30 P.M AND I MAY NOT GET IN AT ALL BECAUSE OF THEIR SCHEDULE.

When I questioned her first of all why they asked me to come in when they cannot service..? she said that nobody called them from 6.30p.m as she was at desk. I told her I spoke to a guy. But in front of all other customers, she spoke to me as I was lying. I was so.. pissed off and disappointed. So I showed her my call log and said that a guy answered my call and want to talk to him, she very rudely said that she cannot ask him to come to the desk and talk (because she know's that she was lying).

On the whole, it was a very very disappointing and unsatisfactory experience. I will never again shop at Picture People. I will surely share my disappointing experience with all my friends and relatives.

But I did not understand why they took in the other party who arrived after us saying no to us...? I think this is 100% racial discrimination as I'm an Indian.

Hope you employ well trained people who respect customers and be polite. After all customers are the reason for your existance.

-A PISSED OFF CUSTOMER.

Hello, I brought my 16 month old daughter to the Silver City studio and I was not happy with the session at all. The gentleman who worked with us was named Jarrod S. He did not explain things well and I felt that he was rushing us through the process. He named off the different color backgrounds, but did not show them to us, after we asked. He did not offer some props during the session and afterwards, we found out there was a Christmas tree that we could've used for the holiday pictures. As we waited after our session we noticed a nice black and white background. He did not take too many pictures. We were having trouble getting our daughter to smile, but I thought he would at least keep taking pictures even just getting her walking around. We where not told how many changes of clothes or what our last set was. we really wanted a family picture and was told it was over before we could get one. In the end we did not feel that we had many pictures to choose from and the packages were not explained to us unless we asked specific questions. Jarrod also showed us a couple pictures that were black and white or zoomed in and we really liked those. After purchasing the high resolutions CD, those pictures were not included. I was very disappointed with the service we received. I felt like we were rushed through the process so he could move on to the next customer. At this point, I would not recommend the Picture People to anyone.

Picture People / TPP Operating Racism, Discrimination, Retailiation

I have read the complaints listed above. They are for real. As an employee of the company I saw a lot of problems with management. Management consisted of a District Manager and a Regional Manager. First, it is true that they ALL expected you to work off the clock. They would sent an email stating: ...We will have a problem if not done. They also asked lower management to lie about workers to get the fired. Unfortunately, it was always about minorities this happened to. You can read about the companies problems with retailation against an employee for filing a complaint. Its true, they DO fire you for complaining about racism and discrimation in the workplace. They say they interview staff membersm but found they lied about who they talked too. They also have these write ups that the Department of Labor coined: "childish and sometimes is just ridiculous. This is the worst place I have ever worked in my life. I have contacted the US and local government in regard to their actions and now the Picture People are being investigated. We are currently seeking signitures for a Class Action Suit and protests accross the nation during peak times. We expect to have a fund for these actions soon.

It may be in the handbook but it doesn't happen. It's long been an understanding especially for managers that they and everyone else are expected to punch out for "breaks" even when the work load means you can't actually get something to eat. This makes it look like they aren't breaking the law. But the work doesn't stop especially during peak times without customer service complaints so usually associates actually just get a few minutes to grab a smoke or eat something. But managers just keep working off the clock and I know personally I have gone over 7 hours without a bathroom break, much less food. Thank God I don't smoke! In the past, an email was sent that put it in writing that this was being done and that person was discharged soon after. (Not for breaking policy but for putting it in writing, I'm sure) And now, with labor hours cut even further oftentimes only one person (manager) is on per shift working alone so there is now not even a pretense that a break is possible so no one is punching out. They just keep working trying to keep this company going and the customers as happy as possible during very impossible situations. If there is a class action suit, I will be the first to sign up for it and for other wrongful actions done by this company. But since this is another new owner, probably only the current labor issue will stick for now.

Picture People / TPP Operating lousy photographer

I scheduled a sitting with my granddaughter and son to get xmas pics taken. I specifically asked for an experienced photographer that knew what they were doing, was creative, and innovative.

The person we got had less personality than a limp dish rag and had an express course from this company on how to point and click a camera and nothing more. This experience was so bad and pics were ho hum.

Not alot of decent shots to choose from. On top of that when they printed my order they only printed 1/3 of my pics. Tried to tell me I had all of them when I didn't.

No idea what happened to the other shots. So I had to pick from the crappy pics they already printed to bring me up to the total sheets I had already paid for.

We sat and waited more than 2 hours to get the rest of the pics plus my cd. When I finally asked what was going on, they said OH OUR PRINTER BROKE AND WE ARE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO COME FIX IT. I informed them I could not wait anylonger. The person was like OH YOU CAN COME BACK.

HELLO! We live 45 miles one way and with gas being 3.10 a gal, why should I pay to come back and rectify their mistake?

Their home office people are rude and no help.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

I went to the Santa Anita Mall to take Easter pictures of my Granddaugher, At the picture People. I'LL never go there AGAIN. First they couldn't find my appoitment and then I was told that they could fit me in but I'd have to wait... (That's fine)

Then when it was time to take us back my daughter in law was told we are going to take you into this room. She was not greeted like any other customer was, with the Photographer giving their name and trying to get a feel for what the pictures would include. Virginia(manager) and Stephanie(photographer) were so rude, I was told we only had 20 min for a session, yet the session wasn't even that. This is the worst place ever to take pictures.

No wonder the company is going under. They need to hire more customer friendly people.

No Christmas Photos!
Wake Forest, US
Dec 02, 2009 7:35 am EST

Had appointment for our 2 sons 4 & 7 to get Christmas pictures. They didn't try to get them to smile nicely.
Props were limited - only 4 of them.
Son had to hold up snowman's head due to poor shape of it.
After 20 minutes of shooting pics we had to wait 20 min for upload of pics to view them only to find out that they were under staffed and over booked so they couldn't show them to us. We waited 20 more minutes hoping to see the pictures only to be lied to that their printer was broken so they couldn't show the pictures to us! Everyone that was there was furious and no compensation was offered. We weren't even provided with another viewing time.
Called their customer service. They seemed concerned and said they would call us back, but never did. We still haven't seen the pictures of our kids. Sadly I wasted 3 hours for nothing and I have not Christmas pictures to show for it!

This is a common problem now. They decided to change things up and fire all of the experienced people and bring on 8.25-8.50 an hour people. They pay 9 an hour if you have mgmt potential. They get only a couple of days training but even the senior photographers and senior managers are horrible. Some are always hung over from the night before and cant even function. Word of advice, DO NOT LET ANY OF THE STAFF HANDLE YOUR CHILD. Yes you will find some good ones, but I saw this as a witness and the bad ones put on a great act for you. Just get close to them and you may just smell it. THEY ARE THE ONLY COMPANY THAT DOES NOT DO DRUG TESTS on a continue basis. I hear people are signing up to protest at the malls during peak days. THey need to change upper mgmt on the staff!

Picture People / TPP Operating Customer Service

We called to schedule an appointment for our family pictures. We (me, and my two brothers) had coupons and wanted to have family pictures done as well as all our children together for our parents. We were told we didn't need to make all seperate appointments and could use our coupons without any issues. We went to the appointment and had all the pictures done. When it was time to pay thye would not take our coupons and were very rude and obnoxious about it. What has happened to this world some people should not be in a retail position if they cannot provide polite, courteous and positive service. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE RETURN CUSTOMERS. I would not recommed this branch of Picture People as they do not have the staff needed to provide you customer service at any level. They are creating memorable moments in time and it is a shame they cannot do it courteously and in a professional manner. Myself and my team of 10 provide customer service to over 1200 employees and I receive many comliments in regards to how they provide excellent, courteous, professional services at all times.

Picture People / TPP Operating Unprofessional

My mother and I recenlty went to the picture people on September 2, 2010 for our scheduled appointment at 1pm with my son who is 7mos, my nephew who is 1yr and my niece who is 5yrs. when we arrived (10 mins late, with kids... who would think? ) we had to wait several minutes because a women had just come into the store with a complaint of her pictures not being done right and apparently they needed fixing! Already a bad sign. When the women finally got around to us she took all our information then said she didn't know if she could get to us because it was almost 1:30, Lie it was 1:10 when we arrived 1:19 by the time she got to us. Next she told us to have a seat and told us she would see what she could do, so we did and she disappeared for 10 minutes then we saw the other family walk in and she immediatly acknowledged them, I noticed this and went up to the counter and asked if she was going to take us and she said that she couldn't because it takes 25mins to take a picture and she didn't have time. So I said we were all set if this is the game they were going to play. I have a few questions though. why if it takes 25mins to take a picture did they schedule someone else so close, why was there only one person on duty. Im never going back, first experience was a disaster and I'm glad I didn't waste my time. So I leave it up to you the public to make your own decision, would you ever go back?

As an employee of P.P, I dislike how they seem to over book appointments forcing us to rush through and not give personal attention to ensure quality photos, however customers do not make it easier when they show up late, delaying us and making life much more difficult. In the end this is a chain studio, not professionally trained artists, if you want 100% attention and personalized service this is not the type of place you need, you can get beautiful results there don't get me wrong but just a tip, treat people with respect and trust me they will make your experience much better, we're all human after all!

Ya...you really have to be on time because if you are 10 mins late then you push all the other appointments back. Plus we have to take walk ins if you are late. Appointments are scheduled close because people like to book them online and it over books or even double books when there is only one person there. If one person is there, it takes at least an hour to help a customer start to finish. Working there is so unrewarding because people complain at the littlest things, stuff that in another situation you wouldn't. You were late, your fault not ours...at a doctors office would you be late? And if you were you will wait a long time. My favorite..."oh, I had a coupon"...ok, what is it, what did it say, why didn't you print it! Do you go to a restaurant and tell them you had a coupon and expect them to honor it...NO! And when you spend less than $10 bucks with coupons and not buying much, you didn't even pay for me to be there so it's not worth most of our time to even care. Yes, if you complain or give us a hard time, we talk about you the second we get in the back...and if you really piss us off...we make sure you always have crappy service. On the plus side, if you are nice, considerate and spend a few hundred dollars (oh and your kid/s aren't terrible, uncontrolled brats) we will do everything to make you happy, if not even give you a few freebies! Just a friendly tip :)

The above comments are very true. They hire inexperienced people and pay them more then those working there for 2-3 years. When the District Manager is apporached the answer is "oh well." ..."that is how its done..." THey also have people who work there partying all night long and coming in directly to work. They brag about the drinking and drugs then handle your children! A complaint was made to the District Manager and Regional manager and they did nothing, but retaliated against the person who complained and fired that employee. In the mean time, the alchoholic partying person was praised for her work! It may be that upper management has been in treatment for their additions and can only relate to that kind of behavior. True, if your sales average is low your hours are cut. But at 8.25 an hour, you have be a professional photographer in 2 days, a professional editor and a top sales person - all in 2 - 3 days or your hours are cut. (you only get 30 anyway! Yep, this place is not a patron of the arts, but a slave driving, dispictable company.

I just recently quit this job because of everything you had just said. The company is run completely backwards, that is why you can't take someone in when they show up 5 minutes late because the managers are lazy and refuse to take pictures, so if you are an associate you are by yourself. It sucks, especially customers like you who are genuinely a good asset to the company, however when workers are forced to carry out these stupid rules, it is very unfortunate for you. i worked for this company for 3 years, at the same pay rate as I was when i first started, people who had actual customer complaints were promoted over me. I was told I was such a great employee and I was the best. their thinking is to hire someone, literally anyone off the streets, train them for a week and stick them into an environment that is horrible with no positive reinforcement. my job had been on the line for the last couple years because i wasn't selling enough packages and i was going to school, being not flexible enough for them. i finally had it, wrote them a letter, telling them to stick it, and walked out. it is honestly the most terrible and unprofessional place you can go to take portraits

Picture People / TPP Operating work w/o pay

I walked in to work today... My shift started at 5pm and a co-worker says, "man, i gotta go i've been working off the clock for an hour already." The customer she was helping wanted to make a significant purchase but needed a spanish speaker, so rosa had to help her becuse the spanish speaking manager was "Busy". That makes no sense! Rosa being the good employee, wants to help the customer for the company to make the sale WHEN THEY'RE NOT EVEN PAYING HER! I've been with the company for several years now and this happends ALL THE TIME! BUT WHY?

Yes it is and it clearly states in the handbook that you can never be told to work off the clock...I hope you called Human Resources and got this straightened out!

I had my dogs photos taken they showed me the pictures on a computer screen, I ordered my package all went great but when I received my photos they had not cleaned them up the background was very dirty and had hair balls all over it! needless to say it ruins the pictures. I tried calling them for 5 days straight only to get a recording saying they were experiencing a high call volume i got the same message every hour for 5 days from 9 am til 11:00 pm! I have emailed them and still have not heard anything back very disappointed and won't deal with them again.

Do NOT use this company. Very unprofessional and they have no clue what is going on. I used the Picture People at Petco in NYC to take picture of my Boston Terrier. I ordered a set of pictures as well as a mug and was told to wait three week for delivery. The pictures were taken March 4, 2011 and as of yet 12 weeks later have not received them. After 6 weeks of waiting I called and no one seemed to know anything about my order and kept on insisting that they will arrive soon. Every time I spoke with someone they said they would look into the problem and call me back which no one ever did. I always had to be the one to call back the next day and reexplain the situation. Finally I found someone who asked if I could scan the receipt and email it to him for a full refund which I did. That was 3 weeks ago and the refund has not arrived. 12 weeks later no pictures, no refund and no help from anyone who works there. Do NOT use the Picture People if there is any problem with your order it is impossible to get your money back or even find out information regarding the order. Very unhelpful, I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but I'm sure that won't help me much.

I'm having the same problem with the picture people. I have called Petco and they said that they called and felt a message with the picture people to call me. It has been over three weeks going on four and still have not got my picture. I think that they need to have a phone number that we can use to check our order. I'm very mad and told my friends not to use the picture people for their pets picture.

I had the same thing happen. When I contacted the photographer the first time, she was very apologetic and promised it would be fixed. I then got the exact same pictures 2 days later. I am going to file a complaint with Petco (where they held the event) and directly with the Picture People. Unacceptable business practices.

Picture People / TPP Operating rude manager

I was recently in the Picture People in Hagerstown, Maryland to see about a setting for my children. When I was standing at the counter, I overheard a conversation between the male manager and a customer. They had a box there that if you donated a toy for charity then you get a couple pictures free.
Well, to me any toy would be good enough but to this manager her toy wasn't good enough. They did not specify on the box that they toy had to be of any certain price so any toy would have been good. Well, he was standing there yelling at this woman so much that she started to cry. I felt so bad for her,
why did he have to be rude. I decided that I wasn't going to have my pics done that day, I will call ahead first and make sure that he isnt there. But something needs to be done with him.

Thanks for listening

That's sad to hear but you wouldn't believe what people will bring, someone brought a bouncy ball from a machine, seriously? Look at it this way, a picture is almost $20 bucks so to be fair a toy should be worth the same, plus it's about giving, not trying to give something worthless so you can get free pictures.

Picture People / TPP Operating Poor customer service

My wife and I went for our scheduled appointment for our son's first Christmas photos. We had to wait 30 minutes even though we had an appointment. Once it was our turn the "photographer" had our son sit in a boopie chair with a red blanket on it. Keep in mind I had to hold the red blanket up so it looked like a back drop. The photographer started taking pictures and kept saying she was getting cute ones. But our son was not as smiley as he usually is. She kept taking pictures which I noticed the flash was not going off on all the pictures and had to tell her. We then put him on his stomach and she allegedly took some more cute ones. We asked if we could have some props, anything for Christmas, and she went and got some. I was expecting them to offer them versus us having to suggest them.

She told us she took 100 pictures which was untrue. As we waited for the pictures to upload, we were told that it would take only a few minutes and we would get to see the pictures after a few other customers. After 40 minutes we were told by our "photographer" that she made a mistake and had not taken 100 pictures, that there was actually 2 other customers' sessions on that disk that she did not download prior to our pictures. So not only did we not know how many photos were taken but we had to wait for 2 other sets of pictures to be downloaded. She then left the store and another employee had to help us.

We sat down to view our pictures and I cannot express how disappointed my wife and I were. The pictures absolutely were terrible. We had about 16 to choose from and only 2 were good. I know you cannot control a 5 month old's smile, but as a photographer you have the ability to view the pictures you have taken so far and know when more are needed. She did not try to get better ones but just wanted to go on her break.

We decided to not get any pictures and the only thing we were offered was that a manager would take our pictures if we chose to do it again. There is no way I will ever go back to Picture People again. It was a complete waste of a day which my wife and I took off from work in order to have a nice family outing and get pictures of our little boy.

DO NOT GO TO PICTURE PEOPLE!

I had an appointment for picture peoples location in Jacksonville, FL for my daughter's third birthday. She was having a luau and I wanted to getsome cute pics in a hula outfit. When I got to the location it was gone. I had made the appointment a month earlier and no one had called to tell me that the branch had closed. When I called the other Jacksonville location I couldn't get a hold of them so my husband looked online and said both Jacksonville branches were closed. Nobody had the decencyto call and let the appointments that were already made know the store would not be there when they got there? We tried to call the main picture people line to let them know and no one answered. I sent them a rude email and haven't heard anything back so we'll see. I wouldn't advise making an appointment with these people!

Thank you "because" you bring up a great point! Just because you have an appointment (especially during Christmas) does not guarantee you will be in right away. Other appointments are late, walk ins that have to be taken, people on sales taking forever (another great point noted by because) and the time spent getting kids ready because people aren't ready when they are checked in. There is no reason the girl should have said she had 100 pics. Even if she did, they have to be deleted down to at most 20! And with babies, you take more to delete down, knowing that you are waiting for a good smile. Them taking 40 mins...I have no idea, it takes literally less than 30 seconds to download pics and the majority of time is spent on deleting/editing. Unfortunately during Christmas, most employees are seasonal and not the best at photography so a lot of time might have been spent making the pictures look better. It is sad that you had a bad session but it happens, I've asked customers if they wanted to come back another day if I feel like I'm not able to get the greatest pictures because the baby just doesn't want to smile.

As for Wendyu...if we have an appointment in 10 or 15 mins, we usually won't take you even though most people don't show up for an appointment...and if we did take you and they showed up, they get mad because we aren't ready for you. It's a viscous cycle and it's frustrating to the employees as well, believe me!

The picture people are a bunch of liars! We were walk ins at the Lancaster PA one and they said they were booked solid and nobody was there. Every time we walked by no one was there! We tried for 2 days to call and make an appointment but no one answered the phone! They said they were just too busy but yet noone was there. Then I called to complain and the manager Joy hung up on me and she said the reason they did not have anyone there is because they had a bunch of no shows. What a bunch of liars...DO NOT GO TO THE PICTURE PEOPLE!

Ok I here your complaints but I have always had great pictures an great customer sevice I have teenage children so things are easier but during our wait time at christmas I notice the customers an the things going on in the camera room' first appt are made to be broken I have never got in my Dr office on time have you so why would anyone think that a strange person for whom your child does not know can do things that I watch parents not be able to do make there own children smile behave an sit still. So maybe the next time you want to point fingers start with your self.Ok so then your complaing about pictures you did not see really people I sat waiting while a woman took 45 min to choose between 15 pictures how long would she have taken with more to choose from come on people it is not in the best interest of any bussiness to get rid of good pictures thats money to them.I think most of you go to these place with expectation that cant be met with fast food photography. So keep it real or hire a private photographer at 75.00 an hour

I completely agree with you do not go to these people. I took my children in the other day to have pictures taken and I know that we counted the photographer taking at least 40 pictures but when they came out we only had 8 to choose from. When we asked about the other pictures we were told we delete them and give you these to choose from. I know that there were other pictures that showed up since I could see the photo as soon as it was taken on the back of the camera. I think that they sould show all of the pictures that were taken and let you choose which ones you like not the ones that they like. Go to some place that shows you the picture as soon as it is taken. Whatever you do, don't go to these people

We have had nothing but headache trying to get out pictures that we had already paid for. We had pictures taken at a local pet store from the Picture People and we were assured several times that their lab would edit out the collar and leash. A few days later when we received our pictures, nothing was edited out. A call to their customer service seemed to have cleared the problem and was told that we would receive a new edited set. A few days later when we recieved that set, only a few of the photos were edited. A call to customer service again, this time we were told that they were unable to edit out the leash and collar, which just so happened to be the shot that we chose for our christmas cards. Several calls later, still not update and still no edited christmas cards...14 days til christmas! Very Very upsetting!

Picture People / TPP Operating Bad service

I was having my children's photo taken and I asked the photographer, beforehand, if there were any discouts, deals, or promotions. He said no. The next day I find out that there is a current coupon deal for a free 8x10 or 10x14 plus 20% of your order! If I had known that I would have driven home and printed it out! I think he knew about that and could have shared that information, but just because there were no "in store" specials, the simple, unhelpful answer was no. I will never go there again.

Exactly...he didn't lie, no there wasn't an in store special. Most of the time, no one knows what the specials are until a bunch of cheap people rush in with the coupons. It's retail, why would we want to make less money, anyone in a sales environment would have done the same! You say you would have driven home? So you would have made them wait until you could get it to complete your order, probably when they would have been busy with other customers? That's sad.

That is just poor service. You may want to know what is really going on. YOu are threatened to be written up and embarrassed and posted for everyone to see if your sales are low (fact). So the workers will not want to give you a discount because it lowers the sale and can possibly get the hours cut or even fired. Co-workers even lie about each other on a continue basis to hopefully get the district manager to retailiate against an innocent employee and i have proof that was done! They need the right people there. Right now, the current district managers and the regional managers need to be replaced asap as act like babies.
