Hoobly no bill of sale or receipt for deposit on puppy sale

On May 1, 2016 I sent a deposit for a English bulldog puppy via western union to a Kathy Rose, located at 128 Greystone Rd, Bassett, VA 24055. She picked the money up from western union and did show her drivers license. Her son promised to send me a bill of sale which I never received. I tried calling the number I was given at [protected] so someone answered but just left the phone on and never talked to me. I finally got a hold of him by text and requested either a bill of sale or refund of my money. He told me he was at work and agreed to send me either and he would get a hold of me the next day. I have not heard from him since then and he has four more ads up on Hoobly.com. I have reported the ads but they have yet to be taken down. His membership name is Allstar1980 and he claims to live in North Carolina. The cellphone is registered in Martinsville, Virginia some 125 miles away for Greensboro. This guy took advantage of me and I hate to see all the others that he may do the same to advertising dogs at $1000.00 a piece. I just lost my dog of fourteen years to cancer and really would like a new best friend. I am on a fixed income and the money I sent him I had been saving for a while. I guess I was ignorant and should have done more research on how do handle these kind of transactions. I am a kind hearted and honest person this just makes me mad that people have to take advantage of others. The tracking number on the western union is [protected]. I will be calling western union back in ten days to file a fraud report and I will be addressing the situation with a letter to hoobly.com who should have some way of protecting the people that use their site.

Hoobly puppy purchase

A listed ad showed the location as Tampa, could be right, but... they referred me to an email address: [protected]@gmail.com. This is her "co-breeder". I made contact and exchanged 6-8 emails with vague results to Deborah Yount. Cute puppy pictures that "were taken just this morning". But when I asked her for a picture of puppy A with puppy B, things went silent. She insisted on pushing the transaction right then, they were in Indiana, supposedly, but the time stamp show 5 hours later with a GMT time zone. She gave me a name of someone who would be my delivery system for the pet... I could not find that person in Ft. Wayne, IN directory. She offered two references, I heard back from one with rave reviews, phrased very much like the original emails.
The original email contact on the ad was: [protected]@mail.com.
There was also a scam alert with the same email address involved.
They were willing to send me the pup anywhere for a flat $150 before they even knew which airport to send it to. I may be wrong, but this smelled real bad... Scam! Watch out!

Hoobly ad was posted for full blooded lab pups for sale, but we were lied to!

The ad was posted 10/1/15 or 10/2/15 for full blooded lab puppies for sale in Belleville, MI. Ad stated they had 2 black males, a chocolate male, and a yellow female for sale with pictures. I made contact with the phone number listed on the ad [protected] on Friday 10/2. On Sat 10/3 we made the 45 minute commute to Belleville to look at the pups. They only had 1 black male left (so they claimed). I asked the guy for his address, he sent me an address. Upon arriving to what my maps on my phone said was our destination, there was not a house. I text the guy telling him we were looking for his place and he said "oh, we are meeting at the BP gas station". We were buying this pup as a surprise for our kids, so they were with us. They were so excited to get out and play with this little guy. Then the guy says, oh, he was born without a tail. So my husband and I talked about it, the kids loved him, so we decided to still go ahead and buy him. On 10/14 the puppy had a lot of diarrhea and threw up. On 10/15 my husband took him to our vet. The vet said no doubt one of the parents was a lab, but the dog is definitely a mix with something AND they definitely had his tail docked. And to top it all off, his bacteria counts in his urine were so high that the vet said he definitely had the infection before we bought him. I attempted to contact "Tony" as that is how he introduced himself to us and have not gotten a response at all. Rude, inconsiderate, disrespectful, sick human being to sell a family a puppy and lie about it on the ad that was posted and in person. Very disappointed that he hasn't contacted us back. All we are asking for is information on what he is mixed with. He's our baby now and we've rescued him from a very bad situation apparently, but he could at least do us the favor of letting us know what he is mixed with and why he lied to us about the tail. The ad is obviously no longer posted, but this was the link to the ad: http://www.hoobly.com/An1FZ/labrador-retriever-pup.htm Desirable resolution for this complaint: 1) To know what our lab puppy is mixed with, so that we know for our own information. 2) Our money back for the full blooded lab that we paid for that we did not get. We paid $225 for him and we've already spent $235 in vet bills to find out what was wrong with him and put him on antibiotics for 12 days for the infection.

Unfortunately, this kind of thing happens hundreds of times a day across America. The laws are very loose, and even if there are state laws, they are hard to enforce and getting true compensation is unlikely.

Many people do not do their homework on how to buy a dog. If you spend 1/2 hour researching that ("How to buy a dog"), you will see that if someone asks you to meet on the street somewhere, you should run away as fast as you can. Don't fall in love with a picture, don't fall in love with the IDEA before checking the premises of the seller. Finally, less than $300 for a pure bred is a ridiculously low price, and is a warning.

What you should be happy about is your costs are less than $500. It is common for people to be taken for thousands, between unusually high prices for falsely advertised "quality" dogs, and much higher vet bills than you paid.

Hoobly selling kittens with ringworm.

I put a deposit on a kitten that carrieh1, P.O. Box 6546, Kingsport, Tn 37663, [protected]@gmail.com, [protected] KNEW had highly contagious and very difficult to treat ringworm. She didn't disclose the ringworm infection until we met in person for me to pick up my $700 shorthair persian kitten.
When I told her of my past experience with ringworm and that I couldn't have a pet that had ringworm due to the health risks involved for my two children and dog, she refused to refund my deposit.
This seller knew the kitten had ringworm before she accepted my deposit and never shared that information with me.
Buyers beware, if not for your $, for your health.

Hoobly PA. couple Sharon Santiago & Peter Tubens

There is a couple from Philadelphia who breed English Bull Terrier, they keep there dogs tied up in the yard where one of the dogs jumped the fence and hung himself they also keep these dogs in small cages sacked on top of one another, they breed for money and not for the health or quality of the breed, they go on the internet looking to buy more English bull terriers to breed then after they are done with the dogs they resell the dogs for more money, do not sell your puppies or adult dogs to these people they won't be going to a good home, don't purchase a puppy or adult dog from them these dogs never had any veternary care, it's very sad how these dogs live...don't let these people fool you they are also being investigated for animal cruelty and neglect.

LOL Maryann get a life really I'm no breeder and I don't believe in selling animals for money or breeding animals for the love of the breed there are too many animals in the world as it is I don't need to bring more into this world...I believe in spay/neuter, something that Sharon and Peter don't believe in...

Yes she is mentally ill I'm sure Sharon will appreciate you saying that, but she's not too mentally ill to collect money for the animals she sells, the money she gets she should take her animals to the vets, something that her whole family doesn't know how to do...she shouldn't be allowed to have pets or kids in her care, what is she doing out of the mental ward LOL, I feel sorry for her two little girls...so you think it's ok for Sharon to breed animals and live off of them when she already gets a check from the government, what's Peter problem why doesn't he work and support the family, no he rather breed animals and live off them.

Maryann6363 you make me sick too you are just like them...I'm not here to change your mind, I don't care if you think they are the greatest people in the world, I posted my complaint about them and I stand by it, I am speaking for the animals that can't speak for themselves I see that you care more for Sharon and Peter, so be it, I don't care don't waste your time writing me again because you won't get an answer...so mind your own dump ### business...

I agree with you it is so sad that they make money with animals so they don't have to work, Sharon is 25 she should get a real job she also collects money from the government and what's Peter problem why isn't he working, these poor animals didn't have a choice they were forced to breed, English Bull Terrier puppies were sold as Christmas presents at the age of 5 weeks old for a price tag of 1, 500 dollars, it's just disgusting they both turn my stomach

Update by DogDaddy50
Jul 25, 2011 4:03 pm EDT

Look Maryann6363 the problem I have with Sharon and Peter is that Ace was tied in the yard and he did jump the fence and hung himself, he didn't get tangled up as they claim, he hung himself because he was tied up, what about the Persian cat that bled to death while having a miscarriage why didn't Sharon and Peter take her to the veterinarian and get her any help, I guess that was an accident too...I know another lady who has two Persian cats from Sharon and the cats were deadly sick and almost died..Sharon cats and dogs never seen a veterinarian office...

They did not breed animasl here and there they were in business of selling cats and dogs from there home, she was running a cattery out of her house and was advertizing it around her neighborhood and on Hoobly, E-bay classifies, and Philly.com, she had a Blue Point Himalayan and she thought it was pregnant and wanted to sell this cat while it was pregnant for 2, 000 dollars, she also had a English Bull Terrier name Lola she was being sold as a package deal for 3, 000 dollars if you take Lola and her 5 babies, she had another pregnant English Bull Terrier and Sharon and Peter wanted 2, 000 dollars for that dog the dog was up for grabs as they put it, these people were breeding for greed they couldn't wait to get an animal pregnant, ...I saved all there classified ads so there is no disputing what I am saying...Sharon and Peter don't work and selling animals was there way of making money...

Sharon and Peter would go online and look for English bull Terrier that were being sold cheap so they could purchase it and then breed it over and over again and sell the puppies for 1, 500 dollars even if the dog had no pedigree papers, she went looking for Persian cats too on the internet, she bought 5 of them from a breeder one of them was Zozo, she was not suppose to breed some of these cats they came with a no breeding contract but Sharon and Peter didn't care they bred the cats anyway...Sharon was in the process of moving from Sepviva that is why she was selling all her cats and you purchased Zozo...you stick up for Sharon and Peter maybe you are a breeder, I know there is no way Sharon had Zozo spayed before going to her new home, reputable breeders spay/neuter there cats before going to there new home.

No one moves just because there mother is coming around there house, if her mother was violating the protection order all Sharon had to do was keep calling the cops, there are two sides to every story you are only hearing Sharon side of the story...Sharon moved suddenly because of complaints to the PSPCA and DHS that is the reasons for her moving away...Sharon didn't want her mother to know her business anymore because her mother did not approve of what is going on in that house..

I put my complaint on this site on behalf of these animals and in memory of the animals that died in Sharon and Peter care, this complaint has nothing to do with how nice you think these people are this complaint is for the animals...

Update by DogDaddy50

If you hate bad breeders then why are you saying I am making allegations about these people who are backyard breeders, the post about these people are what it is, believe it or not that's up to you and whoever...
I just don't get it, don't claim you hate bad breeders when you say I am not credible, I am writing on behalf of these cats and dogs, Sharon and Peter are shut down they no longer are in business due to the fact of her court case on animal cruelty and neglect...

Update by DogDaddy50
Jul 23, 2011 4:02 pm EDT

Maryann If you read my post slowly and carefully you will see that they have been reported to the proper authority, they moved suddenly during the night, I cannot tell you everything that I know because this case is going to court...

Zachary I don't feel I owe you any explaination.

Maybe you are the one who should mind there own business, like I said you were not there so don't put your two cents in, I was there I seen what I seen and they have been reported already, I'm doing this to speak for those animals who couldn't speak for themselves... I don't breed or sell animals so I am not in competition with them, I do have proof of everything I said, I am not going to slander people names for nothing and I don't have issues with them other then what happen to the animals that were in there care...

Update by DogDaddy50
May 01, 2011 3:04 pm EDT

You don't know about the White English Bull Terrier that hung himself after jumping the fence you weren't there, you don't know about the Persian cat that bled to death while having a miscarriage you weren't there, Peter admit that it happen and found the cat dead under his bed he didn't get the cat any medical help even though he seen her covered in blood while she was alive, you don't know about the litter of kittens that died, you don't know that Sharon & Peter sold Persian cats that was infested with ear mites, Sharon & Peter breed for greed, I have witness this myself so don't tell me this is not true, I have spoken to other people who bought cats from Sharon & Peter in the past and there cats were sick...there is so much more about Sharon Santiago & Peter Tubens that you are not aware of, you don't know the whole story, and if you found this post you must have been looking...I know all about ZOZO I have a picture of her, I'm glad she is out of Sharon & Peter house all together.

I do not even know why this is being debated. ANYONE WHO IS CRUEL TO ANY ANIMAL SHOULD FACE CRIMINAL PROSECUTION! THE END! I think Dogdaddy50 is actually someone from this disgusting duo trying to save his reputation. How stupid do you think people are Dogdaddy50? You do not think that an intelligent person can see right through your "anonymous" user handle and not see what you are really up to? lol you should have used the handle CatDaddy50. It was a dead give away! You used your normal username and then try to claim you got a cat from these people. GET A LIFE LOOSER.

The world needs more people like MaryAnn6363! Her only goal was to make potential "customers" aware of the cruelty these animals endure while two try to turn a profit. Thank you MaryAnn6363 for making people aware of this local vile practice, and I will be sharing this with everyone I know!
DogDaddy50, you should be ashamed of yourself it does not matter if you are running the operation or you are financially supporting it by being a customer, your actions and defense of something so horrific is truly disgusting!

Personally... I think anyone complaining about breeders are idiots. Anyone who buys from one, I believe the same. There are WAY too many dogs out there being put down that need a home. If you are so coincided that you think you need a certain "breed" or "akc certified" pet, you aren't buying a pet, you are buying a trophy and that's it. Grow up, these are living things you are letting die for the sale of having something "name brand"

And another thing - If your little gang here were such Good People, instead of downing every one that gets on this board with their complaints/problems; you would not tell them they are idiot and are going to hell.

Good people would try to help the lesser ones who need the help. All you people do is kick them down while they are down. You need people like that so you can feel superior. Sit their on your High Horse and look down at some of God's sad little angels struggling. With out these ###, idiot breeders, dumb ###, etc. You could not be who you are.

There is NO EQUALITY UPON US. And that is fine. That is just the socialization of the world. Always will be that way.

Why not instead of being all high and all mighty - Try and help.

I know people like YOU - Think you are better than every one else. Well guess what, you are not.

I am going out side to pray to every God out there for you. For you to stop being so mean to people who do NOT deserve it. You are the type of people who find it funny and great if the ### put a gun to his head and blew his brains out because of your horrible comments.

And to the ### out there - use a condom or stay in a relationship with one person. AIDS is a very sad disease. Very slow horrible death.

Using ### in a loving way - Gays do NOT bother me one bit.

Uppity ### holes do though.

I saw a listing on hoobly from “iloveanimals22” claiming she’s selling Maine coon mixed kittens. She uses fake pictures of the “parent cats”. She sold me a domestic kitten. I tried reporting her add but it didn’t work so I’m trying it here. She’s currently selling another kitten and I don’t want anyone to fall for it.
