Pella Proline 450 Series Windows

Despite Pella’s claims about quality, reports suggest that the windows are susceptible to water intrusion (water leaks) and wood rot. My home has Pella windows that have been vulnerable to water penetration in the window sash, leading to wood rot and window failure. Furthermore, because of the aluminum cladding, the damage is often not visible until it reaches advanced stages. In this case, after the warranty period had expired. I am now facing having to have most of the entire windows and frames replaced.

There is s class action suit- you have to turn in by June 20, 2018. Call them. I researched and found a claim form on line. You need pictures, receipts and estimate to fix. We just discovered wood rot in a north facing basement window today.

Pella Service

For 5 years I managed the Pella Business in CT and NY. Our Customer Service rating was amongst the lowest in the 60 branch organization and by far the lowest of the large branches. A major weakness of the system is that when you purchase Pella you are NOT dealing with the manufacturer except in regards to the product. The product is manufactured by Pella Corporation, but SOLD by franchises or private companies that have signed a Pella Window Agreement. The main motivation of this group of owners is Profit and NOT service and/or long term relationships. Service Cost money and in CT and NY they have gone through 7 service managers in 6 years with the most recent hire QUITTING after a few months. They do not believe in Service. I am now on the building side - I waited 11 weeks for a service event. This Monday, the Service Tech NO Showed on our client. No phone call, NO email. No call to reschedule. I began calling my old contacts. No return call. I finally reached one of the great employees - Myrna, who gave me the earliest scheduled service call - 2 more weeks later. This is NOT a coincidence. This is NOT an rare occurrence. For 5 years I took calls from customers like me trying my best to explain away this HORRIBLE service.

Disappointed Pella Customer in Houston

It seems this awful service experience is not confined to NE. I live in Houston, TX where windows play a major role during summer and rain season for a plethora of reasons. This is what I have learned.

1. Extremely difficult to get a live person on call
2. Emails do not get answered at all
3. Phone lines almost always goes to a recording that directs you to send in email
4. Service calls almost always are tied to some form of a charge for material and labor even it is warranty call
5. You NEVER get a status unless YOU CONTACT THEM
6. Pella brand reputation is not seen in any area of post-sales delivery segment of service...sad because I think they do make some great windows ...

keep trying until you get noticed..

Pella does currently sell through corporate stores, though there are not many. I just bought $80, 000. of windows and sliding door units for a house I'm building, we have some issues to be addressed, 1st call for service within 1 week of delivery sent pics, described all issues, service man shows up 1 month later with No Tools & No Parts, confirms what we told them a month ago and we get a new "repair" appt in 6 weeks. Pella Sucks!

Pella I have no proof that I have paid for the larger number of facilities

We recently decided to invest in self-storage facilities and decided to work with the company Pella Building Systems. But the main problem was that the company has provided all documents on time, therefore I couldn’t proof them that I have invested in larger number of facilities, but they provided the less space. The rep started to argue with me and asked for the proof and I don’t have it. So, what should I do now?

Pella Window

Terrible experience - would not recommend Pella for replacement windows here in Colorado. A seal was broken in a crescent window on the second floor of my house - a very expensive window. The salesman told me to "paint" the outside of the window to match the house trim - this voids the warranty and regular paint peels. He measured the glass dimensions rather than the opening, so the window shipped was more than 3" too small for the opening. They tried to convince me they could just "fill" the opening with "putty" rather than put in a window with the correct dimensions. They sent a new, cheaper made window and installed it. Meanwhile my siding was damaged and currently has a big hole in it, so I will have to replace several boards so it looks right.

When I called Iowa to complain about the experience they told me they could/would not help me since the Showroom Operations are a separate entity. Tim Glidden is supposedly the Retail Manager for this area and he could care less. It was a terrible and expensive (several thousand dollars) experience which continues to cost money.

Good contractors in Colorado are hard to find. Would not recommend Pella. Find someone who cares about their reputation, service and product.

Pella Customer Service

I have bought two Pella windows directly from the local Pella showroom and have no complaint about the product itself. My complaint is with their customer service and business practices. They used the credit card I gave them for the deposit to charge the balance of my purchase without my authorization and without checking with me to see if the work had been done to my satisfaction. I called their headquarters and was told that someone at the local level would call me but I never heard back. Additionally, I called their customer service this week as I am having a problem with removing the screens. Again, no one has called me back. Needless to say, I will never deal with that company again.

Pella Techs never came to install new windows

I wanted to fix my windows and therefore I contacted the rep of the company Pella Window &Door. The tech arrived and examined my windows. He told me that they would arrive again and would install new several windows. I waited for the phone call, but these scammers never contacted me and took money from me. I don’t know what to do now. I wonder if there are other people, who had the same experience. Can you provide any good piece of advice?

Pella Bad quality, don't buy from them

I bought door from the company Pella Storm Door. After rain storm, my door was water marked. I cleaned it, but nothing worked. I decided to contact the seller and told to clean it or provide the refund. They promised to clean it and provided the date, when they would arrive, but of course no one arrived and they stopped to reply to my emails. I wonder if there are other people, who had the same experience. Can you provide any good piece of advice?

Pella Rotten windows

Thank you for sending Bob Gibson, a Pella representative to my residence. Per Bob, the lower windows that he inspected are separating. At my residence, there are 12 openings with 79 windows. I was informed that 13 of 27 lower windows would need to be replaced and the windows would be sent to me to install.
However, the upper and center windows were not inspected. To determine the extent of the problem and damage to the windows, and thus resolve the underlying problem, one would need to thoroughly inspect all 79 windows including the upper and center windows. To do this, one would need to go outside with a ladder to inspect all 79 windows that were purchased from Pella and installed by a Pella Certified Contractor.
In the past, I experienced problems with the windows and a Pella representative visited my residence. At that time, I was informed about the following problems from a Pella representative: (1) the Pella windows were installed with no "R" factor (insulation); (2) the Pella window frames were rotted and the clad lifted.
During this time, all 79 sashes were replaced and two inch screws installed to hold the windows' mechanism in place. Per the Pella representative, the repair was only a "bandaid" to the problem. Now the "bandaid" has lost its adhesive. The initial problem was never resolved.
You have indicated in the email below that your records indicate that the Pella windows are from 1998 and beyond any factory warranty. Per your records, the factory warranty has expired. However, Pella violated the warranty because the windows that I purchased from Pella and installed by a Pella Certified Contractor are: (1) not fit for use; (2) not free from defective material or workmanship. Therefore, I do not think I should incur the cost of purchasing and installing all new windows and for certain other repairs of the windows necessitated by a known manufacturing defect.
To help resolve the problem and not resort to another "bandaid", I am requesting that you replace all 12 openings with double hung/transom tops. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Now i think the best way to handle this is to set up a protest / picked outside pella stores. Also picked outside lowes . You have to hit them were it hurts. SO LETS GET ORGANIZED AND SEND E - MAILS TO EACH OTHER AND DATES TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. [protected]@msn.com
Respectfully,
Tim Lippick

Pella Incompetent company , horrible service

Pella is an awful company.Buyer beware! They have Lowered their standards to poor quality and demented sales people and customer service reps. The simple task of putting a new patio door in is too much for this company to handle. The rep who sold me the door came out to my house and prided the company on being American made and he couldn't stop stroking his own ego about how wonderful the company he works for is. I bought the door and I spent my whole saturday at home while they installed it. Once it was in I saw that the handle was some cheap plastic black one when I had specifically ordered and paid extra for brass. Then I discovered the lever that slides the shade up was missing on one side.In addition...I also ordered and paid for a screen door that was never entered into the system by the incompetent sales man, so there was no record of it. I was so disgusted and they said it would take
another month to have everything re-ordered. When they came to put the screen door in I was at work . I was told by the delinquent customer service lady that they cow
D come whenever to install it because nobody needed to be home. She said the track could be accessed through the outside. When I arrived home from work, I found a note on my door that they couldn't install the screen because they needed to get into the track through the inside of the house. Once again, I was disgusted! I scheduled a date, when the guy came to put the screen on he said it was BENT and couldn't be installed. That was it... I had it with this company. I called my rep who sold me this crap door and he was stumbling over his words. It has now been two months and I am still waiting for my new screen door, the brass handle and the shade lifter to be installed. This is the absolute worst company ever and I should have went to HOME DEPOT, where service and quality is superb. PELLA is an EMBARRASSMENT to an American company...I want this door installed as quickly as possible and I want pella out of my life forever

Pella treating paying customers like dirt

I first met with them in June and was told that I could reuse my pre-existing screen door. In August, they came for their FIRST installation and told me that they could not reuse it so I needed to purchase one of THEIRS from Lowe's...and they needed to finish up some painting. They told me that they would call me.

Three weeks later... THREE WEEKS.. I had to call them and they told me that I could only get them in to finish their work within the next 2 weeks. I called the company and asked what could be done with my bill because of the inconvenience of having this unfinished and sitting in the middle of my music studio. They said that they could lower my bill by $150.

A week later, they were FINALLY able to come in and finish their work. This was now 4 weeks from the original installation date. I called to follow up on the $150 off because of my inconvenience and they are LYING and saying they
1) never said that I could reuse the pre-existing door
2) fixed the problem and nothing was wrong

So, let me summarize... they lie to get the sale and then they perceive an installation of over a month "normal business practices".

****I do not wish the company to EVER contact me again****

Pella Installation problem

On 6/29/12 we closed escrow on a loft in the Parkloft Building for which Pella not only sold but also installed all windows and doors.
We became aware of there being water intrusion problems with the French doors and contacted Pella to mitigate the issue. They replaced the torn weatherstripping for the doors. They also charged me $299.32 for the stripping and the installation by their installer. On the telephone I asked for customer warranty service on this problem door but was told that it did not apply since the installer was at fault.
I since learned from the building engineer that Pella had installed those windows with their own installer.
I really would like this company to
1. refund the nearly $300.00 to me
2. send someone out to fix the threshold in order to make this door more easily open.

I'm sorry that you have now been introduced to our corrupt Iowa window company. Many of us have the unhealthy thought pattern that “Made in the USA” stands for quality. It does not when dealing with this company. It’s easy to read in the Internet that we are not alone. Our family also was deceived into purchasing Pella Architect Series Double Hung windows in the fall of 2009. We have been homeless since that date. I want encourage you to contact me so that I can give you a list of the names of the individuals that I know of, at Pella, who you can contact. I cannot guarantee that you will be able to solve your problem, but you can be a “burr under their saddle” until they do solve your problems. I have several YouTube postings on the internet under Pella Window Problems. I don’t think this web site will post my name or contact information, but you can get it from the internet sites posted by gsmckee0740. Keep it up! The rest of you, do your homework!

Pella Very Disapointed

I spent over 50, 000 with Pella purchasing windows and doors. The doors were wrong from the start. One door even had the wrong colored hinges and they refuse to send me new hinges. I have 15 doors with oil rubbed bronze and 1 door with stainless steel hinges. I purchased the doors through Menards and they stopped carrying Pella so Pella's customer service will not help me at all. The roll up screens are terrible, 100.00 per window and they are cheap and do not work well. I am so dissapointed in this company. I will never purchase their products again.

I didn't know that Menards quit carrying Pella products. We have also found out the, by purchasing 49 Pella Architect Series Double Hung windows, that Pella does not stand behind their products. We are now working out our differences in a court of law. As many of you may know, once you have been taken by a company, at least in Iowa, we only had 2 years to file with the court for help. We gave Pella the benefit of the doubt and nearly 2 years to fix our windows. They refused to even attempt to provide any communication unless we called every day or emailed every day. We then figured out that Pella was only "playing us" to run out their 2 year time frame. So here we sit, waiting on the Iowa Court System to play out. Our trial is set for Marion County Court, Iowa on February 12, 2013. This has been a long time coming, as we have been homeless since the fall of 2009 when we installed our Pella windows into our home. They leak water/snow so badly that we have an extremely awful mold problem when it is wet. You can see the videos that are posted on YouTube of our home under Pella Window Problems. We posted these so that other home owners could see the potential windows that they might be thinking of putting into their homes. We want to educate the population on our problems. Please do your homework!

Pella windows qualities

I had my first appointment with your company to install my windows on November 4th 2011. I took that day off from work and waited at my home. When your worker did not arrive at the scheduled time, I called Pella in Montreal to ask what was going on. I was told the worker’s truck had a problem and could not make it to my house. Why did the Pella not call me to inform me this themselves? Why did I have to call your company to be told my appointment was essentially canceled? This is unacceptable customer service. I am employed at an architecture office. Projects have deadlines that must be respected thus I must inform my boss in advance when I need to takes days off. My wages are hourly and I lost income due to your worker’s unreliability. I then had to take another day off from work to schedule a second appointment with your company.
The second appointment to install my windows was on November 11th, 2011. Since this appointment, more than 9 months have passed and the installation of the windows are still not complete (see images in document). The joints of the windows were exposed throughout last winter and are still exposed today. This is not only affecting the esthetics of the windows and my hom but it is also damaging the frames structurally.
I have called Pella in Montreal several times since April to ask for the windows to be completed. Finally, a worker was sent to my home on June 12th, 2012 whereby I had to take yet another day off from work. I honestly thought that this would be the final time that I would have to take time off from work for these windows. However, this was not the case. A Pella employee came to assess what work remains for the windows and then told me that he could not finish the work today because he had 5 other homes waiting to be done first.
I have spent close to 10 thousand dollars for my windows which I believed came from a reputable company. Your salesman and your contractor told me that I had made the right choice to buy Pella windows. However, I have not received the service nor the final product that I was promised and for which I have paid top dollars in full. Other than the fact that the exterior of the windows are not complete, here is a list of additional problems:
1. One of the windows has two handles missing
2. Unacceptable workmanship
3. All nail holes were left exposed
4. The ends and edges of all trims are not stained
5. Some elements are not assembled well
6. Damages caused by windows not being sealed

I have purchased a total of four windows from your company and I am very disappointed and unsatisfied with not only the product you have provided but also the very poor service. The quality of work I was provided was very different from the windows that are on display in your show room; you have not met my expectations, you are deceiving your customers and this is unacceptable. The cost of each window is close to $2500 each, a high price to pay for the windows and service you have provided. I am very disappointed with your company.
Since June 12th, 2012, I have not received any news from Pella. I am expecting an official letter from your company which states when the work on my windows will be finally completed. If there is any structural damage to the frames of the windows due to inclement weather I expect your company to repair them free of charge. Additionally, any damage around the windows caused by the fact that windows were not properly sealed must also be properly repaired by your company. Moreover, I have a two year warranty on these windows. The warranty should only begin on the day the work on the windows has been complete.
I hope that this is the last time I need to contact your company with regards to the unfinished and unsatisfactory level of work that you have provided. Note that if you do not respond to this letter adequately I will be forced to pursue legal action.
Thank you for your immediate cooperation,

Good Luck is all I can say! As you are finding out, hind sight is 20/20. Now that you have made the harmful decision to purchase Pella windows your life has taken on an extreme amount of well-placed stress. It has also been our experience that Pella windows, we purchased the Architect Series, are of extremely poor quality. As you are finding, their products only pale in quality to their disgusting customer service or lack there-of. We have been out of our home since the fall of 2009, when we installed 49 Pella Architect Series windows. They leak so badly that we now have an awful mold issue. Our home is unsafe to us as the residence for animals. We don't think our barn is nearly as moldy. I'm proud of you, to see that you are taking photos.

Pella will post on the internet that they are "willing to work this out". As we all know, companies who provide customer service or manufacture quality products don't end up being spoken about on the internet in a poor fashion. I wish you all the best and hope that you do not end up in court, as we find ourselves. In my research, I have located attorney all over the USA who practice "Construction Law". These attorneys all have cases; yes I said multiple cases against Pella for families just like ours. It is so sad that a company from the USA is so dishonest. Hang in there. Keep good records and spend some time on your knees. As we know, God must deal with such dishonest people, if not here on earth, throughout eternity!

Pella Errors in measuring & Installation

These YouTube videos pretty much explain it all:
http://youtu.be/BB8qCwzVK4w
http://youtu.be/w-tA_BaTiGY

Pella Windows was contracted to manufacture and install these windows for this customer, who paid Pella installers nearly $3, 000 for the work.

Pella failed to properly measure and size one of the windows and then tried to cover up their mistake with this ridiculously bad installation, rather than making good on their contract.

According to the contract, Pella Windows is responsible for:
• The entire project under the contract;
• The proper completion of the project;
• Inspecting all products purchased per the contract.

Pella Windows and their installers failed at their job miserably, and now refuses to honor the contract that they authored, causing this retired customer, who lives on a fixed income, to pay nearly $3, 000 for this shoddy, unacceptable, and embarrassing work.

USE CAUTION WHEN CONSIDERING PELLA WINDOWS ... THEY MAY RIP YOU OFF TOO

Pella Rotting windows

We have replaced our Pella windows and sunrooms numerous times. The metal cladding hides rot until it is too late to repair. We have tried to do everything suggested by Pella to maintain the windows but in some places are in our 3rd replacement. Even if they discount the window somewhat they do not give you the replacement and their is still labor to pay. And what is the point of replacing something with another defective product? Some are the sunroom series and some Proline and architect series.

Pella Defective product

Following are the events and my experience with Pella Windows and my recommendation is don't purchase Pella because their designs and durability are substandard.

• My home was completed in September of 2003 with Pella Windows installed. The warranty period started in December 2002.
• In the 2004/2005 time period we had to have almost 30 windows replaced due to a manufacturing defect that caused the windows to leak. When I first contacted Pella they were not willing to replace the windows, but because I had a video of the windows leaking they changed their mind when I sent them the video. I always order the windows painted and Pella always complied with the request. I was not charged labor or an extra charge for painting. During that time period we had several other windows replaced due to a seal leaking.
• In 2008 we had more windows replaced and each time they were painted and installed with no charge.
• In 2010 we had several other windows replaced and each time they were painted and installed with no charge
• In February 2012, I had a technician (John) inspect and identify 4 windows that needed replacement. We talked about painting and I said that they are always painted and I didn't want to deviate from past practices. John said there would be a charge for the install, but did not mention a charge for painting. I told John I had never been charged for the install labor.
• I was contacted in late April for installation. The young lady I spoke with said there would be an install charge and I repeated that I had not been charged before but she insisted and I said fine. How much would it be? She said $150 an hour. I told her to go ahead and schedule it and she said she would call me back with the details.
• I was contacted and told that 2 technicians would arrive on the agreed to date. I told her if I was being charged $150 an hour that I didn’t think two technicians were needed since Jim has been here several times and never needed assistance. The young lady put me on hold and checked with Jim who said he could do it by himself.
• On May 15th, I arrived at the house and both Jim and John were there. I inspected the windows and saw that they weren’t painted and spoke with Jim about it. He then called the Service manager and they were on the phone for around 20 minutes trying to resolve it. After Jim’s discussion with the Service Manager he told me that to have the windows painted that it would be $269 a window for a total of almost $1200. This was the first time, a painting charge had ever been mentioned.
• I called the Service Manager and spoke to him about the issue for around 15 minutes. During this time I was told that the previous owner was no longer there and that this was a corporate owned business and that the service that I had in every previous experience was not going to be honored. It turns out based on what I was told is that the documentation for the order listed that the windows needed to be painted Pella White and the Service Manager did not note that when he ordered the windows.
• I then spoke with the Service Manger’s boss, Mr. Rob Sydnes.
• We spoke and in my opinion did not come to a satisfactory resolution. He stated he would waive the labor charge of $600 and I would be responsible for having the windows painted. At this point, I needed to get to another appointment and I told him I would follow up the next day.
• At this point, the technicians finished the install, but there was an hour of lag time in there trying to resolve the issue that the windows had not been ordered correctly.
• If the windows had been ordered correctly, Jim could have finished the install in probably an hour. I’m not sure why John was there since we had agreed that only one technician was required.

In the past, Pella has taken ownership for the defective product and stood behind it. The replacement windows have been painted and installed without any charge, but in the 10th year of the warranty after over 60+ windows have been replaced, they want to change the precedent that has been in place for 9+ years.

We have also had poor quality Pella products. We have also found out, by purchasing 49 Pella Architect Series Double Hung windows, that Pella does not stand behind their products. Pella Windows

Well, seven windows were replaced in my house. I almost went with the competition to do the job. I clearly remember the salesman from the competition tell me "Good Luck", when I told him I was going with Pella to replace my windows. All seven windows were to be replaced within two days. After the wrong size windows were ordered and some of the windows were damaged the install crew came out again 5 weeks after the first appointment. Again, a window was the incorrect size. Five weeks later the install crew came again. This time a screen was ripped and the sash was dented. After the fourth time of coming to my house, amazingly the job was complete (1 week shy of 4 months after the initial install date). In addition to this the install crew did not pick up after themselves with saw dust left on the grass, caulking that was all over the grass directly below where each window was replaced and caulking on my driveway that is permanently stained and nicked/gashed drywall in my bedroom. Good thing I didn't have all the windows in the house replaced. I haven't decided if I would use Pella to replace the rest of the windows in the house? Two of my neighbors need new windows in their house, so they asked me about my experience. Yea... It is ironic I remember the salesman from the other company say to me "Good Luck."

Pella Screens of Pella patio door don't work? What am I going to do?

We bought 4 Palla pation doors with 4 screens last Oct. We hired another professional company to install them last Oct. There are 1/4 inches gap between the screen frame and the main door frame, a lot of bugs come inside from the gaps.

We called Pella right away after the installation, a Pella inspector came over and told us the sizes of the screens are not correct. He wanted us to be patient. 6 months passed, no reply has been received from them since last Oct 18.

I called them 3 week ago. A lot of unhappy stories happened here. They refused to take my calls. The phone representative transferred me to their voice mail. I left tons of messages and none reply was received.

Until I called the supervisor, another Pella inspector came over yesterday. He said he just received the report documents from the previous inspector in Oct and that is why the reply is delayed. He said the sizes are correct, the reason is installations . Pella are not going to responsible for it. I don't trust him. He is lying.

Summer is coming. The bugs are keep on coming inside. We have bug bites all over arms and legs now. I also tried Raid but it almost killed me. We have spent over $4K on changing doors, but we can not open the glass door now.

We are planning to sue them? Could anyone let me know how to sue them without much costs? Any suggestions are appreciated. please email me: [protected]@yahoo.com

Pella customer service and workmanship

On Aug 1, 2011 PELLA of Bedford, OH began a project of replacing 15 windows at our Medina home. The job was not completed until Dec 15, 2011, which is 4 1/2 months after inception.

Our original service rep. Frank Stanton, was reassigned due to poor customer service and his partner, Sarah Marotto, the project manager, either quit or was fired, so our work orders were not properly placed, which contributed to the job taking forever.

Further, the workmanship that was done was sub-par and needed to be redone multiple times. The installers did not properly reattach the siding of our home to one of the new windows, which left the window and the interior wall exposed to the elements for 2 months before WE discovered the problem and insisted PELLA fix it. Had WE not found the shoddy workmanship, the new window and interior to our home would have been subject to long term exposure and rot.

PELLA had to reinstall the glass in a large picture window THREE times, due to deep scratches in the glass, and the lower portion of one of the double hung window had gouges in the glass and had to be replaced THREE times due to defect and the mismatching of the stain on the trim. The finish on over 50% of the windows was damaged and needed repair, the hardware on the windows had to be ordered THREE times AND PELLA submitted financing and expected payment before the project was even done. The installers did not even have enough trim to finish one of the windows.

The customer service was lacking and ultimately was reassigned. The work was painfully slow and we had to arrange our lives around MULTIPLE follow up service appointments to accommodate THEIR errors in service, installation and ordering. The customer compensation was LAUGHABLE. For all the extra scheduling off at my work to accommodate additional appointments, phone calls, and negligence (especially with the exterior siding being detached), we got an apology and a $500 credit towards a $15, 000 JOB!

We would NEVER recommend choosing PELLA for windows.

Pella windows

My house is 16 years old and I have 3 windows that the wood is rotten and they need to be replaced. My parrents have pella and never replaced any and their house is 59 years old. So far I have had to replace the basement doors because they were made wrong. The windows above the doors upstairs have had to be resealed because they were wrong from the factory. Now I need to replace the 3 windows. I talked to the Pella dealer and their Pella windows in the front of their build are rotten the same as mine. These are the worst windows I have ever seen. The quality has sure gone downhill. I would never buy Pella windows again. Paid a premium for the Pella windows when I built the house and all I got was junk. What a mistake!

We purchased 49 Pella Architect Series Douglas Fir Double Hung windows and one patio door. We specifically wanted Douglas Fir windows and door. When I, Sharron, called Pella Corp. to inquire about the fact that we wanted Douglas Fir because it did not rot and was very strong, I was told that "Yes we have Douglas Fir products." I had to deal with the salesman, John McDonald, to purchase the products. We spent nearly two months getting our order together. On September 21, 2017, we met John McDonald. He took our money and we signed our contract. Our contract stated that our order would be delivered on or before October 8, 2017. The delivery was two weeks late. It was delivered on October 22, 2017. We installed some and I, along with some men, started to prepare them to finish the inside. We found that there were many problems with the windows. They leak snow/water/air in every single window. We now have a mold problem under the windows in the insulation. We have not been able to put on the drywall because of the water problem. We are homeless. A neighbor took us in. The straw that broke the camel's back was when we found out that the product that we ordered was not what we got. We ordered and paid for Douglas Fir windows and door. We were told that because Douglas Fir was so expensive the product was very very expensive. We told John that we did not want pine because it did not last as long. John agreed with us and told us that we could get Douglas Fir windows and door, but it would be a lot more money. We told him that we wanted Douglas Fir no matter. He told us and showed us in the Pella informational booklet he gave us that Pella offered 4 wood types: Alder, Douglas Fir, Mahogony, or Pint. We could get Douglas Fir and completed the order for Douglas Fir. Our order contract states "Douglas Fir". We just found out that we did not get Douglas Fir. Our door is pine with Douglas Fir veneer. Our windows only have Douglas Fir where we can see. They have pine everywhere that we cannot see. Pella concealed the fact that they did NOT deliver to our home Douglas Fir windows, but in fact they delivered a 100% FAKE product. They were trying to get away with selling us a lower quality product at a much higher price. We only ordered Douglas Fir windows so that they would not rot and so that they would last longer. We were lied to and concealment is against the law.

We did give Pella a chance to make the window order correct. They did bring to our home in February 2017 new windows but not a door. They installed all but 21 windows, which they left stacked in our garage. Pella did not ever make an attempt to get those window installed as they are still sitting in the garage in September 2017. Pella had not been to our house since February 2017 to fin the windows that all allow snow/water/air to come into our home.

If you would like to talk to us about this problem please get ahold of us at gsmckee0740 AT aol.com. We have dozen's of photographs of our problems, if you would like to see the mess. We are still living in a neighbor's house because our home is unliveable. We encourage you not to purchase Pella or you might find yourself in our shoes.
