Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com not furnishing information in order to win

I have been filling out all of the numerous mailing information PCH sent me including little rub-off instant prize winners. It states if you match you will win $50.00. I had matched at least 3 of them (received in different envelopes). Nothing. Drawing were to be in may, 2011 and June 2011. I have received absolutely nothing but more envelopes asking for me to send back immediately. Today, I received more mail from PCH stating that the prize was to be awarded (different prize) very soon. Please return ASAP and include Mail Carrier Envelope. Quess what, no envelope. Yesterday, I got mailings from PCH stating call this number immediately. Another quess what: number is not in service.

I believe that the Federal Government stopped them from promising winners but this is just as bad. I am going to better business and if need be the Federal Post Office with my complaint. I kept all the mailing and made copies of all the "supposeably winning scratch off". I am tired of this scam and they should be a stop to it NOW>

Via snail mails from PCH, if you match all scratch off tickets, etc, the deceptive instructions on the game cards will have you believe you won should you promptly "return the winning card by the deadline" However, if you read the rules booklet that they enclose in each mailing, you will discover that the winning card you have completed only wins you the right into a drawing. The online games are also a scam for persons that do not read the terms & conditions and/or sweepstakes information. All of the games are rigged to have you almost win...done deliberately to make you keep coming back. However, if you were to make all matches on, say, pch lotto, you really have not won anything but the right to be entered into a drawing. The pch lotto, bingo, etc, has a drawing only once per year so these priks will have you coming online everyday to play games that you THINK has instant wins and really you play for all year. So what do they have to gain by doing this online? Each and every time someone logs in to their site their online ratings go up and their site increases in value. PCH is a total waste of time if you believe you can win the online games...hell even the tokens when redeemed do not actually be redeemed for anything but the chance to be entered into a drawing...Ever gotten a snail mail containing the message, "someone with your initials in your area is going to win"? everyone of your neighbors got the same mail only each mail has the initials of the addressee...another scam by PCH. As for their products that they sell: PCH is a big affiliate marketer making money via helping companies push their products. You can get the same products alot cheaper simply via buying them elsewhere or direct from the source. Also the majority of products PCH sells are cheap china products that can be bought in any Dollar Tree store for a buck.

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com Deceptive Practices

I am just appalled by the Better Business Bureau of New York's response to my complaint. They decided not to investigate any further because they think I do not want to seek resolution but I did ask for a refund because I feel cheated by PCH. I got an envelope last month and there was a tic tac toe entry where you match either the X or O to win $300 which I did match 3 X's and signed my name on the back. I have not seen the money yet. I made copies of the other mail that I received from PCH for proof. I also got 2nd mailing which was for $500 a week for life and they had an 800 number on the envelope for me to call before I opened the mail. I called that number but there was a recording saying that this sweepskates had expired. I sent an email to the PCH Consumer Affairs Department and they said this sweepskates are still ongoing but I have to hear the entire message. However, the recording is still brief. Please be warned of any mailings or online games from PCH. I do not like to see people getting hurt from deceptive practices. PCH needs to be shut down period. I have copies of the entries and letters just in case if someone wants to investigate this issue.

I am from Canada and I got the same tic tac toe insert in the mail and I scratched off 3 x's as well and it said if I scratched off 3 X's I would win $100. I signed the back the same as this person did and sent it in and have not recieved anything at all from them. I can't believe I even sent in a thank you note with the ticket. Don't I feel stupid?!

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com rip off

I am being ripped off by Publisher Clearing House. I am being charged for one item I never received and for one item that was never ordered but returned through USPS when I found it in my mailbox; now they have put it out for collection! I have contacted them several times and have returned all of their 'bills' with an explanation of the situation. They do not care and are still trying to get money for items I do not have! I will be taking this to my state's attorney general's office! Beware! These people are scam artists!

Same problem here. I paid for items ordered yet they still say I owe them as open orders. I've never ever defaulted on a bill. They want over $200 something. I will never order anything from them again. Going to turn them over if this continues. Thank God my friends are attorneys.

I am getting a bill everyday for different items I NEVER ordered.
So much for no purchase required to be entered into drawing. Unable to reach an agent to stop the billing. I have over 130.00 in bills for crazy stuff. A high blood pressure kit, weather station, vitimin e gel, and other stuff of which I have no NEED or DESIRE to own.

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com pchgames

To Those In Charge of the PCH free online games, You posted a notice telling that you were going to add new games and improve the all-around playing. Unfortunately for those of us who play the games, you did the opposite. You took away many of the good games and replaced them with a few games that are Less interesting and they give little to no points. Why? Again I ask Why did you take away all of the better games and changed the entire way a person could play. Well I just want you to know that I am very disappointed.

PCH says you do not have to order anything, went through the questions and said skip when they asked if I wanted accept any of their offers, got to eversave and still continued to say no, the website said that there was an error and then directed me to another window for eversave and there was no way to skip this, pch is a scam and someone needs to call them on this. They tell you that a purchase will not help you win, yet they expect you to participate even though you just want to win the money. Thats how this company gets your money. What a joke.

Absolutely agree gogonow. It is a scam. I posted my complaint which was basically about the same thing - having to visit all these partner sites and basically sign up for something. I did (requests for information so nothing I had to pay for), and thought my entry was complete. Get an email today saying I still am not registered, click to enter, and it takes me to a site for obtaining senior care information. No way to opt out of the site. No way to move off the site. So I completed the information but in the section asking about your specific needs I told them I had none! Didn't need their services but that PCH was "making" me complete this to enter and to NOT contact me. I'm sure they will anyway. PCH IS A SCAM.

Mad about PCH!

PCH preys on many people! Stopping them and all the other organizations who they collaborate with is going to be a monumental effort! We are going to get our parents declared mentally incompetent, place them in a facility, and cut all communications from PCH and their buddies. PCH is taking very large sums of money from old people every day. 10 checks going to them for $600 or more dollars a day is typical! I thought that the US Consumer Protection Agency fined PCH for this practice and false and misleading advertising about prize winning many years ago. They have been running their basic scam for at least 40 years. Automatic charging of credit cards monthly, constant scams for more chances to win when people buy a product and the other bogus mail offers to win will stop! We forwarded the mail to monitor what PCH is doing and cancelled the credit card. But PCH already found the new Credit Card number and is auto charging it. PCH is a crooked, corrupt and an unconscionable organization. I hope Ed McMahon is rotting in hell! Just another reason his hometown Detroit went bankrupt! PCH has bad ethics!

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com walmarts $1000 gift card 'free'

I would like to know how Publishers Clearing House gets away with all their sceams and scams! Everyday I get an email from them saying you could win $1000, 00 (tax free) if you just use us to search for anything! Then when I did this I came across in BIG blinking banner saying your a winner! just click here and youv'e been choosen you have won. So Even though they say you don't have to purchase anything to win, When I clicked on it, It say's just order two items on this list and get you $1000 Walmart gift card so I did. I ordered two items got them in the mail and still have yet to get my $1000 Walmart gift card1!It's All A BIG SCAM! iI think they need to be repoted for false advertising! It is in my mind all a huge SCAM!

Ditto re all the complaints against PCH. I have purchased items, not because I believed it would help me win, only because they were items that I thought were unique and hadn't seen in other outlets. However, this outfit is truly driving me crazy, flooding me with warnings, promises, etc. I really wish there was a method to having all this stopped, but according to all my searches, they really are considered a legitimate business. So apparently nothing consumers can do to stop the craziness..

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com magazine

I have been getting a collection notice for $14.00. It says that it is from Public Clearing House. I did not order the magazine that they said i did. When i was on their web site it told me that they would send me one for FREE and i would not be charged unless I want to subscribe. After they sent me the one the notices came in saying that I owe. Now I am getting notices from collector companies. I will not pay for something I did not order! I would like this to STOP now.

THANK-YOU

In my opinion I would hire a good attorney or group of attorneys who will take the case on a Contingency Basis and Sue the living hell out of those ###. They are nothing but "Low Life Lying, no good four flushing inbred dirt bags anyway. Their Computer Games are full of BS like their winning jackpots. They have their winners picked already. The ### need to be shut down permanently. If anyone doubts the fact that the on-line games are rigged, I have 3 months worth of pictures to prove what I'm saying is true. I can site examples. 1. The Slots games like Frontier Fortune, Winning in Wonderland that need 3 Bonus Cards for a chance to win cash, you only get 2 spins, The ones that need four Bonus Cards you only get three spins and so On. Then when you get to the PCH Casino and use the diamonds to use the spinner that's even more of a joke. If you get a scratch card you get Sorry, but this scratch card is not a winner. I even made a plaque to hold up just before I activate the coin to scratch off the card that says, "Sorry, but this scratch card is not a winner. Don't get me started on the Black Jack Game. As for the Bingo game. I've had 6 of seven letters for the word "Jackpot",
several dozen times it usually looks like this *J*A*C*K*P*_*T* and once or twice like this, *J*_*C*K*P*O*T*. Pretty amazing isn't it. A real casino gives you more chances to win than Publisher's Clearing House. I wouldn't mind talking to a Consumer Affair Attorney myself. Imagine demonstrating the above in a Court Room with 12 Jurors and calling it before I complete the task. They are enough to drive a person crazy. My kids and room mate say I'm nuts for bothering with PCH and I believe them.

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com sweepstakes

For over 35 year's I have done business with PCH even back then it was a letter entry form and my Mom was still alive . I will continue to purchase with them but they should date the payout info on the online form so you know that the form you are filling out does not have a chance for a year or two or less ! All my purchase's with them have met my needs but but honesty up front on dates should be easier to view on the on-line page.

PCH sends e-mails for various contest; they tell you you will be eliminated if you don't respond but in some cases the "activate" or "continue" buttons do not respond. No wonder they sending e-mails saying they weren't able to have a winner for the last %5, 000/wk for life contest.

I have been playing for many, many years. I would say about 20-30 years and I have made several purchases from the flyers by mail and online. My complaint is now I play online and I keep notices like ...avoid disqualification of your forthcoming Lifetime Prize Number! I have received several emails that to please place an order, when it say "NO PURCHASE NECESSARY". Then why am I being treaten to be disqualified.
Here's another one: YOU ARE STRONGLY URGED TO TAKE THIS FINAL STEP IMMEDIATELY. RESPOND NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 25TH (11:59 PM, ET) TO COMPLETE COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS NOTICE.

What gets me is some of their merchandise I have ordered is so cheap and then they charge 5.95 or 6.95 for shipping. You end up paying $20 regardless. And they adveritse merchandise under $20. Hmm, yeah right! This last item I purchased is really cheap, I will be retuning it. This item I ordered a while back, it was a very cheap bad product - Santoku Knife Set. I didn't open them till around Christmas, I ordered them in Sept. 2012, by the time I opened them they were dull. WTH

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com entering / partner sites

I get emails stating I haven't yet entered the $10M giveaway (no. 1400). Each time I get the email to enter, I click to enter and always have to go through numerous parter sites offering various services / products. I went through this completely 2-3 days ago and signed up to get further information from online Universities. Since then I've been contacted over and over by them. The entry email stated I believe that I didn't have to purchase anything to enter, but encouraged signing up with at least one partner site (which I did). I also began to sign up with a partner site called SPARKLEHOROSCOPE but after entering my personal information and clicking through I came to a page which stated on the bottom that I would be billed $9.99 a month via my cell provider. I did not click to accept the services the site was providing, but am now getting emails from them. I don't know if I will be charged, but if I am there will be more complaints.

Today I get an email stating I'm not yet registered for Giveaway No. 1400, (which I should have been when I completed the entry process and signed up online University information!) and to click on enter and then visit the partner site, Find Senior Care Living. That site did not give me any option to skip the site. It appeared I had to sign up, again, for something. I did sign up to get information (though asked that this partner site not actually contact me since I have no need for their services!).

PCH's online entry process is extremely confusing and misleading I believe. I really have no idea if I'm entered into the sweepstakes, but I know various partner sites now have my information and are calling and emailing me and it's ridiculous. They are supposed to be a trusted sweepstakes company, but I think they are trying to scam people who attempt to enter online, and give out personal information when it is not what the person entering wants.

I have only 2 real complaints with PCH: 1. I wonder what criteria they use to determine who their "partners" will be & what they offer for sale.. I have seen at least one blatant scam & at lot of junk. 2. PCH customer service is not staffed with exactly the brightest people. This is why so many orders are messed up or as in my case customers are left in limbo waiting for information.

I do not question the validity of the sweepstakes.

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com entry into the contest

I think Publishers Clearing House just picks a person out of hundreds of million addresses and makes one person a winner, but they really are not giving anyone anything because they put a million dollars in the bank and all they are giving away is the interest on their money.

They fool people into believing they have a chance to win big, but they hoodwink people into buyer their products either by email or snail mail; they disappoint too many people with all their gorilla marketing tactics.

If everyone would just tell them to remove them from their mailing lists, then they would have nobody to sell their magazines and products to...this would put an end to all the disappointments they create.

Over the last several weeks, I have submitted several technical issues to pchgames.com. After receiving their stock answers many times, I finally called the help line. No luck there either. The gist of the response was "upgrade to the latest flash or we can't help you". I was at Flash 10.1 but a few updates below the current (10.1.8xxxxx).

I have uploaded proof of the problems I encountered and add them here for your curiosity.

I finally had enough and asked how to remove my account and got a message that they have disabled it.

I have better things to do than to waste my time uploading obvious errors several times only to have nothing done about it.

Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com incorrect billings

Despite repeated letters telling and showing cancelled checks that I paid each invoice/items ordered in full. they continually send me billings for additional monies. I don't know if they have someone in their organization that is skimming money off, but I do NOT appreciate being billed for money I do NOT owe them. I was told that part of my check to pay an invoice in full was used to pay a previous invoice balance, but did not specify which invoice. I pay each invoice in full, so do not feel that I am in arrears. If PCH can specifically tell and show me where I owe them the $4.99, I will gladly pay it.

This has happened to me on numerous occasions. I sent back half of a two part order and they to this day still have not credited me. Their website says order now pay later, or free credit for x amount of days and then when you pay the minimum amount shown on the bill, the next thing you get is a letter saying you didn't adhear to their agreement and now must pay the full amount due plus what you already paid them. This isn't right and is missleading. I have called them several times and talked to an agent who supposedly took care of the problem only to get more bills stating that I own the full amount. I also noticed that if you write what you paid on the front of the check they run it through as a debit so that you do not get your check back and they think you can not see what was paid or written on the check. I now keep copies of all the checks I send them because the way it is going it looks like I will end up in court with them.

I have not yet won anything from PCH however, I do believe that PCH is in fact an honest and versatile search engine for just about anything you may desire. I am in awe and disturbed by the negative attitudes from some of the complaints I have read about PCH. Patience is a virtue and if you do not have patience and a positive and optimistic point of view then no wonder your attitudes are as they are. Try to have a positive one and you just might find yourself to be a winner, not only through PCH but in all aspects of your life.

Sincerely,
Denise Narciso
